Currently using a 2E waverider 28 from mizuno. They’re decent. I switched from my favorite pair that wore out, brooks glycerin after they changed the support as I need a more neutral step.

I ran my 5h10m marathon in Mizuno Waveriders (28 specifically). The high drop was great for my calves and Achilles and the TPU plate was the right amount of support to go with the foam. Highly recommend.

r/AskRunningShoeGeeksStable shoe for midfoot striker?

M33, 180cm. 78kg. 30-40MPW, 5k \~22 minutes. Easy pace 8min/mile. Most running done in Zone 2. Currently running in Mizuno Wave Rider 28. However have been told these are designed for heel strikers, amd the foam on the mid-foot seems quite hard, this is very noticeable on longer runs over 8 miles. Tried the EVO SL on someones reccomendation, but on anything over 5 miles these make my post-tib angry, so will just keep these for speedwork and 5ks. I have been looking at the Boston 13, Puma MAGMAX, and the SB2. Any other suggestions?

I have two pairs of wave rider 28 and a wave sky 8. I like them both for different things, the rider is better for faster runs, and the sky for moderate or slower runs, even though the sky in my case is lighter. Out of curiosity, my Wave Sky are lighter than my Riders 28 by 10 grams. the wave rider 28 needed to be a bigger size because they are narrower at the front, otherwise they would hurt my fingers, the wave sky I bought a smaller size and it worked. This year when prices drop more in my country, I will buy a pair or two of wave riders 29, I can get them on Black Friday for something close to 60 dollars. much cheaper than the current price which is in the range of 120 to 150 dollars in my country.

If you compare Pegasus 41 with today's trending sneakers, they will be considered dull. But I like them a lot. I have two pairs of the pegasus 39, a pair of the pegasus 41 and a pair of the mizuno wave rider 28. Next year I will acquire two pairs of the new wave rider 29 and I will probably alternate my whole life between this line of shoes pegasus - wave rider. They give me everything I need, without freshness, without perfumery. They are cheaper than most and last more than a thousand kilometers. Why more than that? I would never find myself running around in these hyped and often soft sneakers like gelatin, they just don't work well for me. Maximum respect for classic daily coaches, do everything without perfumery and give you the necessary support for any type of training.

I also find the 39 model very aggressive, and I left them to use in faster races, the 41 I made it my model for more normal riding and long distances, alternating with the wave rider 28. As I weigh 66 kg, the pegasus 41 provides adequate cushioning for me. even for more than longer 15+ km runs.

I have two pairs of the pegasus edition 39 and I love them. I paid something around 60 dollars in a big promotion, at that price, they are worth every penny. At first I felt some adjustment pain in the first kilometer... but then my feet got used to it and I never felt anything again. I liked it so much that I bought a pair of Pegasus 41, also on sale for 70 dollars, they feel a little more cushioned, I'm going to use them for long runs too, as I'm light and weigh just over 65kg. Now on Black Friday I bought two pairs of Wave Rider 28 on sale, they cost 60 dollars too each par. I'm also really enjoying it. I like lower sneakers, with regular cushioning, in which I can feel the ground, in addition to being flexible sneakers. I'm very satisfied, Now, I have 5 brand-new pairs (three pegasus and two wave riders) and now I have reliable equipment to run many kilometers for next 2 years at least. They keep me running 30-40 km a week without getting injured, so I don't have to look for other, much more expensive products. In my country, shoes like NB 1080, Novablasts, Neo vistas, Evo SL are expensive and not for daily trainning. I need reliable daily trainers for all terrains, with stability and many important, durability. my wife have 2 pairs of adizero sl2, and its feel too much soft in my experience, I feel my legs heavy, I dont know why, but, its not my best experience. same with nb 1080 v14.

I haven't tried many but the Kiprun KD900X.2 was a shocker for me. Accessible plated shoe at 120/130 euro. Fast, very light (my US 9 is around 900g), comfortable at all paces. Maybe a tiny bit unstable in tight corners, but that's the only complaint I have. An absolute gem for that price. Other than that I'm enjoying the Nimbus 27 as always, but preferred the 26. I'm a Wave Rider aficionado but didn't dig the 28s. I actually think 27s were better

I believe the last two Asics Nimbus iterations use Asics grip, which is very, very durable and the Nimbus is a very heel strikers friendly shoe. Maybe it's just me but I found Mizuno's latest outsoles to be less durable than in the past. Both my pairs of Wave Rider 27 and 28 showed signs of outsole wear before 400km, and before I could notice a drop in cushioning and response from the midsole.

I have not tried the new models yet, but owned a lot of Wave Riders (from 22 to 28, skipping the 26). To this day, the Wave Rider 25 is still one of the best pair of shoes I have ever run in (owned two pairs). The 27s were amazing as well, but I'm not thrilled about the 28s to the point I'm questioning whether buying the 29s when it will be time to get new daily trainers or not.

Saucony Tempus is often cited as the fastest shoe for overpronators. Worth checking V2 that I believe came out last year I'm a long time Wave Rider fan, so I totally feel you coming back to the Inspire after trying other brands. Mizuno's quality is really, really hard to beat and, although slowly, I think they are doing a good job at making both models lighter than the past. Edit: grammar

Same love the Mizuno, sadly though when I went to try on the 28s my sales person told me next year they will be more like the high platforms

I love my wave rider 26s. I recently tried on the 28s and 29s, but didn't care you for much cushion they added. So now I'm giving the Inspire 21s a spin.  The 26s have far outlasted two pairs of Hokas, in terms of time and mileage.

I ran 1.35 on mizuno wave rider 28, no issues so far. I don't think you need plates for that time, but of course they will help if you are used to them

Mizuno Wave Rider 27/28, put 600 miles on my 27s and about to hit it again on my 28s. Maybe the best road shoe I’ve ever put on for daily use

I have a few pairs of mizuno wave riders that absolutely refuse to die and every time I think I should probably retire them I go for a run in them and they still feel fine.

Not many people ever seem to recommend them but one of my favourite long run, comfortable, not racy shoes that just never die and take a pounding are Mizuno Waveriders.
