If you’re loving your Adidas Pro 4s for speed stuff and even smashed a marathon with them (nice!), rocking them for long runs at a 4:40/km pace sometime isn’t the worst idea. But FYI, those shoes are built to be race-day, super snappy and a bit stiff, not really made for chunking mile after mile comfortably. You’ll wanna have a second shoe for your easy runs and those longer, slower sessions to give your feet some rest and let your race shoes last longer. Check out the Boston 12 - it’s got the same tech vibes as the Pro 4 but softer and way more chill for long runs. Or maybe the Endorphin Speed 4 brings a bit less “sharp racer” and more “comfy long-haul” feel (nylon plate instead of carbon). My old Mizuno Wave Ultima (also Nylon) were most comfy shoes I had. Bottom line? Keep your Pro 4s for when you wanna punch it in workouts or races. Let a softer, more forgiving shoe handle the long hauls and recovery runs - your feet and your shoes will thank you!
