Everyone saying this is an ad...I can personally vouch for this!! I have tried multiple iterations of NB's 1080's - literally just sent some 1080v15's 4E back, they were no wider than a standard Asics Gel Nimbus 24! I have read that the 2E is just more toe box material - to allow for width stretch. 4E is meant to be a wider last, but I dont see/feel it myself! My Altra LP9+ Wide fit my 11cm feet perfectly for width (THIS IS NOT AN AD)😉

It’s been a while since I’ve ran in the 1080s and I received the V15 for free. They are really great. Nice everyday shoe that I can pick it up a bit if I want to or just run easy. I have about 60 miles on them so far.

I just got the 1080 v15 and this is easily the best version I’ve owned from the line. I had different versions over the last 8 years It’s a great recovery shoe

For me SB are a long run shoe, and I believe the vomero plus is similar. I think the rebel v5 is a tempo shoe, with the 1080 being a daily shoe. Honestly the amount of shoes out there fry my head, and I would love it to be simplified

I was able testing them today in our local runner shop and I directly loved them how they feel on the foot and could run shortly with them and the bounce you get back from them is incredible. That's my first super trainer comfy shoe (or however you will call them) and I am really curious how the will perform in my run tomorrow... My idea is using them for recovery / basic runs in 6:00 to 7:00 pace. I normally only run in True Motion shoes but these ones definitely felt so good that I breaked my rule not buying other shoes then my "home" brand. The guy in the shop gave me the NewBalance 1080 v15 for comparison. That one was also quite good but the running in the hyperboost was even better at least for me,also it provided me a bit more stability in it (my running was analyzed in both shoes). Once the foot was in the shoe for me it felt like "sofa" feeling... Look forward to the run tomorrow... Bit afraid of all the negative aspects others are facing with it but will see if this shoe fits for me... :-) Also I think it's always an individual thing and everyone needs to try it in a shop if possible...

i just tried the 1080v15 is it anything close to the 14? it felt like the upper was more snug than the clifton's and felt more bouncy : less cushy are they as cushy as the clifton 10? with the clifton's : i feel like i'm sinking into them with every step. i'm a complete beginner so im not sure if i want a very cushy shoe like the clifton.

I guess it’s relative - my easy pace is 8min/mile and marathon pace 7min/mile. However, I’ve heard from people much faster than me that they simply love their Vomero Plus. I only used mine for easy runs and long runs without pace targets, and absolutely hated them. Much prefer my Pegasus 41 or NB 1080v15 for those types of runs.

Vomero plus, for me, were too tall. I felt like I was running on beach balls. Every run at my easy pace felt so cumbersome and exhausting, completely taking the joy out of running. I’ve never hated a shoe so passionately. 1080v15 feel light, bouncy, and comfortable. They can be fast if needed, although I prefer my Vaporfly 4 for speedwork.

If you’re just getting into running, I think the NB 1080v15 is a great shoe. The new Infinion foam on the v15 is superior to the v14 in many ways and it’s just an overall super comfortable shoes and will hold up well for a lot of miles. In my experience, if you enjoy the way something feels on your foot, you’re more likely to want to continue running in it. That said, choose which one you feel like fits your foot really well and that you enjoy instantly when you move in it. Don’t try to talk yourself into any shoe.

I run a mix of pavement and trails, though primarily on roads. I recently got a pair of Mount to Coast H1’s and they are great! Holding up really nicely and the tread makes me think they’ll go for a very long time. Also insanely light. Light to the point I worried they hadn’t actually packaged the shoes correctly because of how light the box was when it was shipped to me. Other than that, I have New Balance 1080’s that I wear for my slower “every day” run shoe and I really enjoy those and they definitely wear in much slower than my Rebels do.

Just has to accept this fact myself. I have a relatively wide mid food and the velocity 4s start pinching my underfoot into blisters at around 8k. I’m gutted as I’ve tried different socks, Vaselined up, but no joy. I really get on with the NB rebel v5s, super fun shoe, and I go up to HM distance in them. Just bought the new 1080 v 15 to replace my velocity’s for a daily runner cos sadly my mileage is about to increase and a shoe I can run 5k in before pain arrives is pretty limiting. I’m a standard size in new balance so mine aren’t crazy wide, but my feet really do need room to splay and NB offer that 🤣

1080v15 has been very impressive so far. I’m liking it much better than the v14.

Nb 1080 v15 were just launched and are great, light, long running shoes. There is also triumph 23, asics SB2 are superb but a bit firm and then also the megablast but that will want you to go fast. Puma has magmax and Salomon has aero glide. If you like bounce then ASICS nd puma are great if you like impact absorbing shoes then NB are superb. Even brooks has glycerin max

r/AskRunningShoeGeeksRunners with a wide midfoot, what shoes have worked for you?

Saucony triump 23 and endorphin speed 5 have worked really well for me. I like NB 1080 but it is a bit on heavier side so rebel v5 might be good but I don’t find them stable. ASICS have a good base so they work fine as well (SB2 is a good option) Megablast have narrow toe box so will need half a size up. The 2 shoe brands to avoid with narrow midfoot are puma and adidas (this has been my experience with flat feet but still not very wide feet - I fit into normal width in most shoes except brooks).
