What's your running form like? I'm at your weight right now, but have run thousands of miles at 20-40 pounds heavier, and my shoes have lasted at least 300-400 miles (with a few exceptions). I've always run in max cushion, which in my experience last longer. I've run in Hoka Bondi's, Nike Invincibles, which were fine. My New Balance More v4 are going strong at 210 miles, and my 1080 v13's are great at 100. The exceptions have been the More v3, which are DEAD at 250, Bondi 4, which was so, so soft. Maybe look at Nike's React foam. It's slightly more resilient than most. The Vomero 18 could be an option.

Yes I run in the SC trainer too. I suppose the V1 is still my favorite (1h 55m half marathon times in those) the V2 seemed to be faster on my feet and a bit firmer. The V3ās I feel like Iām working a bit harder than the V1ās but my legs are fine after a two hour run in them. No soreness at all. However I seem to be locked into a 5m 30s/6m 00s km pace in them. I think what I like is the fact NB realised that they are high and soft so by putting in the carbon plate itās more about stability than speed and it works well (for me). The new sonicblast I find interesting because itās a similar philosophy. No one seems to want them so may keep an eye out in the next lot of sales. lol. The biggest issue with New Balance is almost all their shoes are soft in the foam design. It does feel like you have work a little harder in them than other brands. Hoka may be the softest Iāve tried (I think), followed by NB, maybe then ASICS, Adidas are probably the least comfortable for me (the few Iāve tried, I know they vary, the prime x strung is quite soft). As for shoes not agreeing with me. Tried the Superblast V1 and I just couldnāt get on with them. Felt like bricks and my legs were beaten up after every run. The other surprise was the latest Novablast. I love them. Bouncy, light, great energy return, but I get toe joint pain in my right foot after every run in them. I was so upset. Could be that they are too tight in the toe box and I need to go a few sizes up but a real shame. Iām 5ft 7", 12st 10lbs.
Asics Nimbus. I have the NB More and the foam deformed, SL are very good for running but my thinking is that for standing is not a good choice
If you want something soft, try New Balance More or 1080. And for the knee issues, I would recommend seeing a physical therapist.
I started with cheap shoes too and my feet hated me for it, so I get you š . For your budget, you can find some solid pairs that will last and save your knees. ASICS Gel series or New Balance Fresh Foam are great if youāve got wide feet. Brooks Ghost is another comfy daily runner with decent ankle support. Try to test them in-store if you can, since fit makes a big difference. Honestly, itās worth spending a little more if the shoes keep you injury-free.
so how does this compare to the Freshfoam V more in terms of standing all day at work....i had the Invincible run's then i switched to NB FF Vmore and its a better upgrade because of midfoot cushion. Do the Vomero Plus bear the FF V more? thanks
New Balance. Fresh foam, to be specific. I've had mine for 4 years now and they're looking a little rough but I will wear them until its last shred. They are now my walking shoes and I feel like I'm walking on clouds and can walk all day in them vs other sneakers that I've gotten since (Vionics, which are okay imo and On Clouds, they suck). When my NBs no longer had the training mileage left, I ended running a marathon in Saucony Triumphs, which are just as comfortable. I've been keeping them away so that I don't ruin them outside of running but maybe it's time to take them out once and for all.
I have been running a lot lately and honestly the shoe makes a huge difference. For wide feet, New Balance and ASICS usually do a great job since they have wide-fit options. Breathability is easier to check in person, just look for mesh uppers, they let your feet breathe better than thick material. I have tried Nike too, but they sometimes run narrow. If you want comfort + durability, I would say go with ASICS Gel series or NB Fresh Foam, both work well for long runs.
