I loved the Rebel v3 because they were more dynamic. The Rebel v4, while it works for interval work at u/4:10 min/km, isn’t the Rebel v3. I’ve bought another Rebel v4 since, with the release of the Rebel v5, they’re on clearance at low prices, and I think they’re perfect for easy runs at u/5:15–5:20 min/km. If I want something faster I might go for the Topo Cyclone 3 or the Flame Mix, although I prefer non-plated shoes for training. Until now I’d been using the Topo Specter 2, but the outsole rubber is peeling off, and I think the Rebel v4 can take its place and do well there. I don’t want shoes like the NB 1080 or the Clifton… I prefer lighter options

For me Evo Sl are comfortable at any pace below 10k but easy to overdo easy runs in them. Hated both Rebel V3 and V4 on the road - both felt flat out of the box but decent on treadmill.

Yeah I’m not the biggest fan either. And I spent like an entire week reading and watching reviews on them. Of course all the content creators said these were remarkable and 5 out of 5 (similar to the adidas Boston which turned out to be trash). I would exchange these for a new set of rebel v3’s in a heartbeat. The v3 felt so nimble and gave the feeling of being able to go fast and slow depending on how you’re feeling. These v5’s just feel slow and the cushion doesn’t give enough spring back. But the biggest gripe I have with the v5 is that the base is so wide compared to the v3. I hate how it feels like I’m running on cushioned plates while the v3 felt tailor made to my feet.

I have a pair of v3s, don’t love them.

Interesting. I loved the rebel v3, hated v4 and like v5. I agree that they feel better below 6:00 min/km but also fine at easy pace for me. I love the upper, so breathable and great for summer runs

I use a resale app called Vinted in the UK, buy some in fairly good condition with limited miles on them. Had some bargains. Anything I didn’t like I sold on. Or work out what shoes you did like, why you liked them, and use this as a reference when doing your homework. Example, I liked the NB Rebel 2 and 3 but I’m on the heavier side and find them to bottom out. Liked the bounce and the light weight, also liked a lot of rocker from other shoes I had tried and I know I’m a mid-forefoot striker. So it was suggested I try the Evo SL, I did and they are brilliant. Chat GPT was actually very helpful in this process too.

I’m 85kg and never found Rebel v2 or v3 to be ‘bouncy’ unless I intentionally heel-strike. V2 bottomed out super early, like after 2 miles. Still enjoying the v3 just due to its lightweight, flexibility and natural feeling.

I’m hoping I’m going to get the opposite experience with the V4’s I’ve just bought. I had V2 & V3 and whilst I loved the feel of the foam, they didn’t have enough stack for a heavier runner like me. The Evo SL I had I find a bit too squishy and unstable. I made good times in them but didn’t like the sink-in feeling of the foam, I wanted it a touch more immediate. Plus I’d like a touch less drop. I had been looking at V5 but believe they are softer and less aggressive again, and I do like to strike off my forefoot. Let’s see how I get on when they arrive.

I’m looking forward to trying these. I loved the Pro 3 but a bit too stiff, the Speed 3 and 4 don’t have enough stack for me, hoping the Azura is the sweet spot.

I love asics, you love adidas, so trying to be different for us two, what about NB Rebel or Saucony, Ride or Endorphin Speed? During my last marathon cycle, my novablast was too old, and due to price, I bought a rebel v3 to give it a try. I liked. It was soft, comfy, light... however durability wasn't that good, so by the end of cycle, I needed a new one, and that's where endorphin speed came. Extremely responsive, light, less comfortable, but still enjoy 34km run in them. Now I am in a new cycle, and I finally found a good discount in Superblast 2, and as you owned it, here is my feeling comparing the two I mentioned to it: Rebel is less durable, I feel it less responsive, as comfortable as, lighter. V3 was not beautiful, but cheap when v4 released. Endorphin is as durable as, more responsive, less comfortable (but still very good), lighter. I enjoy it a lot in long and tempo runs.

Loved the rebel v 3 but the 4 and 5 were lacking. I returned my 5’s and got Evo SLs which I love

this was the softest shoe i ever tried by far. Far more than max cushion.  It's what i expected when i started hearing shoe reviews and the way they're described, only to find that "max cushion" still feels mostly like a normal shoe. What i expected was full stacks of whatever is in the rebel v3. I think i was too heavy and too slow for them to be useful but i can see how it'd be a god shoe for a specific band of runners
