Hi Batchmate, I'm 85kg, 5'11 and using NB5 as daily trainers. I chose Superblast2 as my TBR shoes haha bought it yesterday and will plan to break it in tomorrow. Then will use to all my long runs para masanay yung paa ko until TBR .

88kg here and I have the SB2 and SB3. Just did a half marathon yesterday in SB2 and felt unreal. I would say I really enjoy SB3 at easy paces but only done 30km in them yet. SB2s have 180km on them and feel unreal, best shoe I’ve run in so far. I like the firmness of the 2

Since June 2023 I've had three pairs of the NB SC Trainer V2s - absolute tank of a shoe with 500 miles on each of the first two. However, in the last six months I started using an old race pair of the Elite V4s - I've now got 350 miles on these but the outsole was getting wrecked (shoe goo has lasted longer than the rubber). Bought another pair a couple of weeks ago, and it's like putting on an old pair of comfortable slippers. Still did a tempo run in the old pair this week though. You can run at any pace in them, they eat the miles up, amazing cushion, and legs are always fully recovered. I've tried using my Rebels and Evo SLs but, for me, they are great up to 10 miles or so.

SC Trainer v2 daily is fine for some people but the carbon/stiff plate does add fatigue over time. If you want something plusher that can also race a marathon, look at the Glycerin 21 or Nimbus 26. Both hold up well for long efforts.

the trainer-to-elite transition is smaller than cold, but Boston's downhills are brutal on feet that aren't dialed in. 3-4 runs might be enough, might not. i'd stick with the Superblast 3's and save the Elites for a lower-stakes race.

I’m 6’2” and 84kg. I had the NB4 (upgraded to Superblast2 after 1300km). From everything I’ve read, the NB5 had a significant downgrade in durability compared to the NB4.

I love the Balos for my long runs. I even bought a second pair because they are on discount almost everywhere. I was late to the New Balance brand, so the Balos was new to me. I’ve also used the sc trainer v 2&3 for some long runs and it’s been pretty good. Nothing beats the Balos for me, though

It's a generalisation, but when running at slower paces, a runner typically won't create the downward force to 'load' the plate adequately to rebound upwardly and give you much benefit. Maybe a plated trainer like the New Balance SC Trainer V2 could work better, as it'll give much more durability than a pure carbon race shoe, which can wear down very quickly and be a waste of money.

Wide foot girlie here. I run in both the rebels v4 and the SuperComp v2. Haven’t tried the latest models. Love the rebels but I would not recommend them for half marathon distance, there’s not enough cushion for that long of time on feet. Supercomp trainer has been a really good long run shoe. It took me a few long runs before this shoe grew on me and I acclimated to it though. I usually like more drop. I think the trainer would be a great shoe to try in wide; however, I have heard mixed things about how wide the toe box is. Some have said too wide, and others said not wide enough compared to v2. You’ll have to try it on to decide for yourself.
