Nike Pegasus Shield. I’ve done nearly 600km in them and I genuinely think there’s another 200km in them. Such a shame I can’t find another pair the same anywhere!
Nike. Specifically the Pegasus 39 Shield as these were incredible shoes, still wearing them nearly 700km later as walking shoes. Also Vaporflys obviously..
Hello, I've recently started running (3months) and have Nike pegasus 39 shield which I've used as a daily trainer as well as for my 10k marathon. Any shoe recommendations in budget around 5-8k which would help my shoe rotation & training. Any brand is fine for me. I was researching a bit and found that adidas sl2 are a good buy since they can be used for my race day as well as recovery runs if I'm not wrong
When the temp drops and slimy leaves are out I’ve been using Nike Pegasus 39 Shield. Those claiming the Pegasus trail are good for slippy tarmac don’t know what they’re talking about. The Sole compound is different on those and designed for light gravel/ roots and is actually pretty and on wet tarmac I find (i run Pegasus trail 4 for off road). For context dry/ summer i’m using NB 1080v12
I have a GT 2000 -13, Kayano 31, Nimbus 23 and Pegasus 39 (Shield). Nimbus 23 I use for training/outdoor walks as cushioning has reduced GT 2000-13 is my daily trainer + runner Nike takes the same place as GT2000 when I'm alternating. However I couldn't hit the sweet spot with Kayano, It's feel heavy for runs, too cushioned for training. How'd you suggest using the Kayano 31? I was actually planning to simply use Kayano as a sneaker/outdoor shoe. Bought it for 4.9k that's the only thing stopping me for using it as outdoor shoe.
Only difference between shield and normal is that shield is weatherized, Itll have water repellent coating, hence will have less ventilation and feels warmer. Soles will support trails, so more grippy Other than that everything else is similar. Pegasus 39 is old though, you could check other options!
I am using Pegasus 39 and Dynablast 5. Which one out of these do you recommend for a half marathon distance?
For the last 3500 miles, I have run in only 1 pair of shoes at a time (including races) - 1000 on Pegasus 38s, retired - 1000 on Pegasus 38s, retired - 1000 on Pegasus 39s, retired - 500 on Pegasus 39s (any guesses on when I’ll retire them?) The theory is different shoes put different stress on different parts of your feet and help with injury prevention. Up to you on what ever works best for you, just be mindful, some people have found success having a shoe rotation. Given you’ve already run a marathon, I wouldn’t consider you new to this, and you likely know what works for you.
- Cushioning feels really good and balanced — works well for track runs as well as road running. I did 5k on the tracks and 1k on the road. It’s soft enough for comfort but still responsive, so it doesn’t feel mushy. - What I loved the most is how lightweight the shoe feels, really. You barely notice it on your feet, which makes runs feel smoother and less tiring. 🙌🏻 - Loved the Green colour 💚😋 Looks even better in person and definitely turns heads. 🫣 - The midsole foam absorbs impact well and will help and support your Knee or ankle, especially for easy runs and daily training. -The fit feels secure, although i think for me it was bit loose, Like i ordered Size UK 9 or you can say US10, I'll get it exchanged to 8.5 size or will keep these only. -But the important one is the outsole grip, It is solid for city roads and tracks, because most of us run on the road or park. - Overall, a great daily running shoe for beginners to have their first running shoe 🥰. Runners who want comfort, style, and value in one package. ✅ Lightweight ✅ Comfortable cushioning ✅ Versatile for track & road ✅ Clean looks 🔥💚 (I don't really know how to add video here, like a pinned comment, if anybody knows please let me know I'll upload the shoe unboxing video, wearing them)
Downshifter ain't that good for long runs compare to Revolution 8 or even Pegasus 39 or 41 Also, getting this in 2.2k is already a steal deal bro.😍🤩
I tried the Peg 39 and just couldn't force myself to run in such a dead feeling shoe, not sure if the 41 is better? IMO if I want to run shoe that gives me no assistance and forces me to do all the work I would just run in old school flats rather than a dead feeling daily trainer, since those don't get in my way at least.
