Pegasus Premium are cool looking. 210 bucks though.
The only shoe I get comments on.
The stack height was great. I’ve had Invincibles before as well. The premiums felt unstable and uneven because of the placement of the air zoom units. The Pegasus premium are great because it’s one single air zoom that feels even imo
I tried the Peg Premium this morning. It's heavy and hard, but aesthetically pleasing and very comfortable for walking...or as an all-purpose sneaker. The Vomero Plus is another planet, very comfortable and fun at a leisurely pace.
I bought them and loved them immediately. They were so comfy. They’re by far, my comfiest shoe. And I don’t run in them, but I walk in them a lot. They were so spongy and plushy, compared to the regular Pegasus. But I use them more as walking shoes as opposed to running. I do 4-5 miles a day at work
I have super narrow feet too. I like the puma velocity 3 and the new fast-r 3. From Nike, Pegasus esp the premium version and the Vaporfly. I can’t really do hoka much because of the lack of a pointy toe box, but their lasts tend to run narrow through the midfoot. The adidas sl2, Takumi sen, and adios 9 are good too. A lot of high stack shoes are also made really wide so that they are more stable, so you have to be really careful with those.
The Asics Megablast has a more powerful and better placed pop feedback and above all more stable than the Vomero Plus. I think the runner's weight is important... I weigh 95kg and the Vomero Plus, despite excellent cushioning, doesn't propel me. I walk with the vomero plus and I run with the megablast. I have not tested the Vomero Premium but I tested the Pegasus Premium which certainly offers more feedback (pop) but which is dangerously unstable on heel impact..(the Vomero Premium seems more stable but not tested).
So I am doing a Vomero Premium and Pegasus Premium rotation and it's pretty fantastic. The Peg Premium gets a lot of hate, and I totally understand why, however, for me it works fantastically. They are both super protective and comfortable. Oddly enough I was anticipating the Peg to be the fast shoe and the Vomero to be the recovery shoe but that Vom Premium is so outrageously bouncy and rolls so smoothly it's a much faster shoe. I am not talking about running tempo runs or strides, neither of these would be my go to for speed work. However, I simply run faster in the Vomeros.
I absolutely hated them when I tried them at first. I, literally, almost turned around and changed shoes. I toughed it out and ended up absolutely falling in love with them. They might actually be one of my favorite, if not my favorite shoe of all time (that I have run in).
As someone who owns the Premium, I can't imagine having it without a different shoe to run in most of the time. It's amazing, but I wouldn't want to run in it daily like the plus.
Furthest I’ve taken it was a little over 11 miles. They were quite good. It was a long recovery run the day after a race and they were great for that run. Having only done the one long run in them I really don’t have a strong opinion yet.
For me, with similar paces as you, the Superblast is a bit slappy and kicks into gear for me when I’m moving a bit faster, like in a progressive run. For runs where I’ll be running 90 minutes or more, the I use the Nike Pegasus Premium, the RAD UFO, or the New Balance Balos. These shoes are all pure comfort and make me feel like I could add on a few more miles, even!
I know, people kinda hate the Pegasus Premium but I dig them. The ride isn’t as smooth as in a vomero 18 or plus, but they are still fun for runs under 60 minutes imo. So snappy and they really look awesome. However, I bought them for 50% off at the Nike Winter Sale and the retail price point is absolutely unjustified.
thanks haha, just picked up the pegs in part due to your recommendation. Heres to another 1,000 miles !
