SUPERBLAST 2
Marathon workhorse, but loud and clunky at slow paces.

Running these analyses costs money. Buy through my links to help keep lights on! I may get a small commission.
The reality is that you need to try them on, feel how they feel on your feet. Vomero or Pegs are great choices and can last you a good distance. Wear and your running style will affect this. The test is what you feel, you are the best judge of what feels right on you. I tried earlier versions of the Vomero 15/16(?) and didn’t like them, thought my Vomero 14s were great, and I like the 18s.

My shoe purchases this year: Nike Vomero 16 (£59.99) Brooks Glycerin 20 (£73.80) Mizuno Wave Sky 6 (£54) I haven’t paid full-price for a pair of running shoes since Vomero 1 came out, and that was only because the store did an excellent job with gait analysis that helped cure longstanding shin issues. Never buy budget shoes - buy great shoes at good prices from previous seasons.
Yup!!! This is what I run in and love them!
Yeah outlet stores are the way to go. Recently went to one with an Adidas and Nike store. Managed to get some Vomeros for about £50 but the Adidas store also had Bostons. There’s also quite a few New Balance ones. You do kinda need to know what you’re going in for though, they just have everything out and don’t really separate between what’s a casual trainer and what’s a running shoe, or what type of running shoe they are. ASICS are probably the only outlier here where the staff can help you out a bit, whereas with the other brands they’re pushing casual or football stuff more and may have 1 or 2 decent running shoes hidden amongst other stuff.
I own 1080s and Vomero. 1080s > Vomero
I think Superblast is a no brainer for starting a shoe rotation. Get the 2 if you like it firm and want to use it for faster workouts. Get the 3 if you want it softer and more comfortable for both daily and even paced longer runs, with some workouts(capable, but not as fast as the 2 imo) Other options: Megablasts are faster, but narrower than the SB. I love the EVO SL but i know people who finds it unstable. Vomero plus is also good, soft and bouncy, slightly less stable than Superblasts but are often on sale now. Personally coming from 123kg to ~95-ish(still working) I don’t think it should stop anyone from getting ‘advanced’ shoes. As long as you know what you are going for.
