zoom fly 5’s are super comfortable by nike standards. saucony endorphin are also legit imo, but your feet will hurt regardless if you’re new to outdoor running lol

Would you categorise currex runpro as orthotics? I just got the evo SL, and after the first run had a panic because I felt a tiny tiny niggle in my knee. I had the Zoom Fly 5 and this caused havoc on my knees. Since I’ve always aimed for a shoe with a wide sole. Having said this though, I added the currex runpro a couple of years ago and I’m thinking that the added support in the arch will stop my knees caving inward. If anyone fancies weighing in it would be appreciated. The EVO SL felt so good, just besides the momentary knee fear.

I like the Nike Fly Zoom 5. Super cushiony and propellant effect. Makes me feel like a kid running around just for fun.

Yes I’m coming around to this but did wonder if anyone found any regular shoes to be plenty stable before going any further into true stability shoe territory. I have a set of Gel Nimbus 27 and Evo SL and they’re both too soft for me now, I’ve gone back to my old Nike Zoom Fly 5 which feel better but they’re pretty beat up.

I bought the zoom fly 5. I think that is the worst running shoe of all time and it put me off Nike

I have always really liked my Mount to Coasts but in my last ultra they were hurting my toes rather out of the blue. I switched into my Nike ultraflys, which I have never loved, and they saved my race for me, went 70km more. I guess the moral of the story is to bring options.

I wish I was this detailed to know the specifics. I wore them for a 100k last year and then sporadically in between up to the October race. To be fair to Mount to Coast, I had the same toe trouble in my reliable Mizunos, which also took a chance out there. It may have been the nature of the course, backyard ultra, out and back course, essentially one gradual uphill there and a downhill back. The gradual downhill was the issue. I found the Nikes really comfortable on my toes. I lost no nails. I'm a true forefoot runner, I wear out the bottom of my toes quickly. It was a rail trail so trail shoes weren't really necessary but glad I had them!

I used the Nike Ultrafly on a desert 100k with around 8k vert, so fairly flat. I would not use it again for that type of race. They are comfy and have a little bounce, but felt heavy to me. I like them as a plodder, but not as a racer. I am currently using the Hoka Tecton X3, which feels much faster to me. I haven't tried the Mount2Coast, but the H1 and T1 both look super appealing to me.

Running Shoes... I'm actually wearing my Pegasus Plus right now. It's great for walking around all day. I keep my Alphafly, VaporFly, Streakfly and Zoomfly for training and racing.
