Another vote to try Nike Structure 26 or Structure Plus. I’ve been running in structures for years - they’re a bit clunky but are very good at the stability part. I’ve not tried the new models but they sound like a real step forward.
The Structure Plus is flying under the radar. The forefoot cushioning is perfectly balance. I’ve been impressed so far.
I regularly see Nike Structure for 70-80, good stability so perfect for getting back into it
I have the same issue and bought the Nike Structure. It has been a good shoe overall.
All 3 are quite narrow shoes so I wouldn’t recommend them. Supernova rise 2 wide toebox pero narrow sa mid. I’d recommend you get a free gait analysis sa kung san pinakamalapit sayo. But if di kaya, general reco ko is New Balance 1080, Hoka Arahi, Asics Novablast or Gel Nimbus, or Nike Pegasus or Structure. You don’t have to buy the latest model of the shoe if you’re on a budget. Kahit may Asics Novablast 5 na, I still recommend Novablast 4 to my friends kasi okay din naman tas mas mura or nakasale lagi kasi older version.
Yes! But understand your running gate first. Note that there are various sites with great specials on shoes especially some older models. I, as an example, need a stability shoe and my go to shoe is Brooks Adrenaline GTS. If I go onto their website now they will have the latest and the previous year's model at a lower price. I've also recently purchase a pair of Saucony Guide runners and I'm supper impressed with it. I'm a huge Hoka fan but unfortunately my need for stability leans more towards what Brooks can offer me. I've also spent a few years in the the nike Zoom Structures which wasn't bad at all. I'm not a cloud fan, find them very hard but some people love them. Asics is neither good or bad - just not the brand I'll got to for stability. Happy Miles in your new journey!
Imagine a time. Long, long ago. The year of 2008, where I ran my first marathon going from never have run any distance to a full marathon. Training in no other shoes but a pair of Nike structure - because that’s what the sales person in the sports outlet store told me I needed. You don’t need a shoe for every single distance and training type. Just put on your Megablast and sell the rest.
I have like several of the Nike Air Structure. There foot bridge technology seems well designed. Edit: Nike now calls their pronation control Mid Foot Support System. It is a nice middle ground between heavy shoes for motion control and cushioning shoes. The Saucony Omni and Hurricane seemed good too.
I really have liked the Air Structure. Good pronation control. I like that it doesn't feel squishy but still decent cushioning.
I was a pronator. I had to take running break because of migraines. The models that I really liked were Nike Air Structure, Saucony Hurricane or Omni. I liked some of the New Balance 850/800 series. I think the 860 is an update of what I used. These are stability that are not as stiff as motion control. I like buying local, but if you are super unsure, Road Runner Sports of San Diego and Running Warehouse have liberal return policies. With Road Runner you need to join their runners club. It should be free for the first year, but it renews automatically. It also gives discounts on shoes. So, it is not bad if you run throughout the year.
