The reality is that you need to try them on, feel how they feel on your feet. Vomero or Pegs are great choices and can last you a good distance. Wear and your running style will affect this. The test is what you feel, you are the best judge of what feels right on you. I tried earlier versions of the Vomero 15/16(?) and didn’t like them, thought my Vomero 14s were great, and I like the 18s.

Yup!!! This is what I run in and love them!
I own 1080s and Vomero. 1080s > Vomero
Yes, it’s a very good shoe
Kayano, nimbus, love these two. Vomero is also very soft, and i like the stability, but you have to try it on and feel it.
I’ve run in at least 50 pairs of Nike Vomero in 2E shoes including 25+ marathons. I generally get 600-700 miles (1000-1200km) per pair.
Nike Vomero, 652km, expect a minimum of 1000km. I use these for every workout until my knees tell me it's time to purchase another pair.
I'm close to completing my 3rd lap around the planet. I've rarely had more than one pair of shoes in rotation, although I almost always have my next pair on the shelf ready to step in. Others swear by more shoes in rotation, but I've never found the need. Once in awhile if I forget to dry my current shoes overnight, I might pull one of the dozen old pairs I have laying around back in for a day, but other than that, I'm a one-at-a-time guy. If nothing else, I don't know how I'd ever keep track of the mileage on more than one pair. I do purchase a brand new pair of shoes for every marathon (unless I'm running two within a month or so of each other). I like to get at least 60 miles on my a pair, with one 20 miler, before a race. Modern shoes don't really need to be broken in, but I might want to adjust the lacing pattern or check for raised seams, tightness or hot spots. I always want to find any problem this before mile 18 in a race. I've probably had 40+ pairs of Nike Vomero's over the years. I occasionally look at a different brand/model, but always return to the Vomero's. They are a bit pricey, but shoes are the only gear I really need, so it's still a fairly inexpensive sport.
I wore Nike Vomero for 10-12 races in the 3:50 +/- 5 minute range. I also train in the same make/model shoes.
I’ve purchased around 40 pairs of Nike Vomero over the past decade or so for my size 9.5EEEE foot. I occasionally try a NB1080 because of the lower price, but always come back to the Vomero. I run 2800 mpy and get 600-700 miles on a pair on average. I don’t run in more than one pair other than I break out a new pair for every marathon.
Nike. I’ve purchased 40+ pairs of Nike Vomero’s. Every time I try another brand, I revert to Nike.
I have 1000km on my vomero plus with basically less wear showing on forefoot than my sb3 with 50km. I'm really unsure on the durability of these
I moved on to the Superblast 2 and the Nike Vomero. I'll wait for the next model.
