SUPERBLAST 2
Marathon workhorse, but loud and clunky at slow paces.

I’m 6’2” and was around 225 when I got back into running. The On Cloudeclipse worked well for me. I’ve since retired them and switched to the Superblast 2, and while I find the SB2 to be a very comfortable shoe, they do feel a bit sluggish compared to the Cloudeclipse.
ASICS Megablast, On Cloudeclipse, Vomero Plus. These are all fantastic max cushion shoes that aren’t necessarily built for speed but offer tons of comfort.
I've been running 3x a week for 2.5 months now. I hit my goal of a sub-1 hour 10k after a month of training, and last week I clocked my fastest 5k at a 5:30/km pace. My next goal is to finish a half marathon. For context, before I started running, I trained for and completed a 100km+ long-distance walk. For my first two months of running, I was reusing the shoes from my walking days (UltraBoost 19, Cloudeclipse, Vomero 18), but I recently invested in some dedicated running shoes. Current Shoe Rotation: Vomero 18, Cloudeclipse, Zoom Fly 6, and Adios Pro 4. On my last run, I noticed that my Cloudeclipse weren't providing proper cushioning anymore, and I'm thinking about retiring them from my running sessions. Do you think I need to replace them, or should I just stick with the 3-shoe rotation I have left?
I like cloudsurfer max or the original cloudeclipse a lot. Super breathable upper
I wear ONs CouldMonster and Eclipse and they fit my wide barney feet. I've also had success with Salomon Ultraglide 2. I would definitely look into the drops on any shoe and make sure you find the right heel to toe drop for your stride. If you can get to a running shop they can help. My friend destroyed her achilles with Altras. I would be careful of the zero drop mania.
I’ve gone through way too many pairs these last few years and the best shoe I’ve encountered is the Saucony Endorphin Speed. I’ve had a couple generations of it, and they’re all pretty great. It’s light, the foam is S tier, and the nylon plate makes them snappy and stable. I still race in Endorphins Pro 2s, but will likely upgrade to the Elite 4s in 2026. The Endorphin line is amazing. I also liked the On CloudEclipse quite a bit, and the looks were on point. Same goes for the Cloudmonster Hyper. They just released their new generations. Excited to try the new Eclipse Max at some point. Puma has been doing great stuff. I put 400mi on the Deviate Nitro 2s and was happy with the results. People love the new Magmax. I avoid Nike because I’ve gotten injured in the past with them, but their zoomX is the best in the business. Even if you don’t buy them, try a zoomX pair out in store. It’s pretty incredible. I also avoid Hoka because their crash pads drive me crazy, but I tried the Skyward X and really liked it. Haven’t tried any Adidas, but everyone in the running world is proclaiming the Evo Sl as the ultimate everyday trainer. Also haven’t tried any New Balance or ASICS lately. Brooks is interesting. I rotate in a pair of Brooks Hyperion Max 2 because they’re super snappy and fast but the foam is so stiff. It hurts. I tried the Glycerin Max in store and was decently impressed. Lots of people like it as a max cushion trainer. Good colorways too. Low key, the Skechers performance line is incredible. They usually look wild, but the tech and performance is super shoe level. They just rebranded the line, so now it’s Aero. IMHO their foam is on par with Nike, Adidas and Saucony. I put 2000+ miles on the previous generation of their supertrainer (Max Road 5, 6) and absolutely loved them. Hope that helps someone, somewhere.
