I tried on a few shoes and narrowed things down. I’m looking for one shoe for everyday wear / light running and another for max comfort. For everyday wear / light running, the HOKA Clifton 10 and On Cloudsurfer 2 stood out as the most comfortable. The ASICS Gel-Nimbus 26 also felt good but seemed slightly higher in the front, and the Nike Pegasus 41 felt a bit higher in the back. For max comfort / all-day standing, the HOKA Bondi 9 and Brooks Glycerin 21 felt the best, though the Glycerin made me feel like my heel might slip a bit. Based on this, which shoe would you recommend for everyday wear / light running, and which would be best for max comfort? Also, what’s the actual difference between a lighter, more performance-focused shoe like the HOKA Mach 7 and a stability shoe like the HOKA Arahi 7?

It's a super individual thing, but I love the On cloudsurfer 2. About to buy my 4th pair, they are really comfortable for me. Honestly, I hear about people losing toe nails and getting blisters and stuff, and I don't have any of those problems, so I'm kinda afraid to try something else. I have been thinking about getting the On cloudsurfer max for long runs, but idk...

Cloudsurfer 2 is what I have and they’re pretty comfortable. I also recommend going to PT or someone who can analyze how you run. Your form can cause pain and you may not even realize what you’re doing wrong or how to correct it.

Second this, if you need wide toe box. I tried the Fwd Via 2 and really liked it. I've enjoyed my Cloudsurfer 2 (so comfy), but I may be switching to these because I start to get blisters on my second toe after 10 milers or a hard 10k. Definitely worth checking them out. Base models are zero drop, I believe, so if you want some drop then you need the Fwd model.

I’ve got a pair of On Cloudsurfer 2s, very easy to run in at a slow to mid pace.

On. People like to hate on them but they’re the most comfortable shoes for my feet and have given me PRs for nearly all of my race distances. The bulk of my 70 or so weekly training miles are in my Cloudsurfer 2s and i love racing in the Cloudboom Sttikes

Wow guess I got lucky then because mine lasted pretty long. But I definitely get what you are saying because the cloud surfer model I had started sagging after a while

Thank you also I should have clarified I run now and then throughout the week, but I like wearing the shoes out and about instead of having separate pairs. So I was hoping the shoe would be durable enough to handle walking out and about after my runs. But after I did more research, you are correct because many have said the foam used for the bottom half isn’t very durable. So it’s definitely a take off when not running, type of shoe

I got the On Cloudsurfer for the very same use case, have been very satisfied. I like the style, very comfortable for walking and wearing, and for running they are quite multi-purpose. The downside is the price point but can be motivated by the fact that this is the running shoe I put most hours in (not actual running hours though).
