I love Brooks Glycerin Max and On Cloudsurfer Next.

> *On Cloudsurfer Next (daily trainer). Actually really liked this shoe, but it was on the firm side. Not great for longer runs.* I love the look and colorways of the On Cloudsurfer Next and the upper is fantastic, but damn if that isn’t one of the firmest shoes I’ve ever worn. I really wanted to like mine but ultimately had to return them. Just way too firm for me.

Hey everyone, I’m looking for a new pair of running shoes and would appreciate some input. **Background** 6’0”, 195 lbs, Wide/flat feet, Injury history: left plantar fasciitis and right meniscus tear, Running: 3–6 miles at an easy pace about 3x per week My injuries heavily influence what I can tolerate in daily footwear and running shoes. **Shoes I’ve tried** **Hoka Bondi 7 (4E) — Prior Shoe** Width was mostly adequate, but still slightly narrow through the midfoot. Occasionally irritated my low/flat arches. Felt heavy, especially during tempo efforts. **Altra Torin 7 (Wide) — Current Shoe** Excellent midfoot width and roomy toe box. Fit my foot shape well. Couldn’t adapt to the 0mm drop. It slowed my pace and I recently developed Achilles discomfort. **On Cloudsurfer Next (Wide) - Recent return** Slightly snug toe box and mid foot width, but manageable. Lightweight and noticeably improved pace. Firmer foam + aggressive rocker aggravated my plantar fasciitis. This caused me to return them. **Shoes I’m Considering** 1. Nike Vomero Plus (Extra Wide) 2. Puma ForeverRun NITRO 2 (Wide) 3. Hoka Gaviota 6 (4E) I’m unsure whether I should be in a neutral or stability shoe given my flat feet and injury history. Open to other recommendations that balance spacious width (especially mid foot), moderate drop (not 0mm drop), cushioned but not overly firm. Appreciate any and all feedback! Thanks!

Arahi 8s are what I went with and they’re awesome! Stability and cushioning feels great! The Arahi is definitely lighter than most shoes in this similar category. Also, this shoe is more spacious than other Hoka 4E options. It can accommodate my entire foot even in the foot arch/mid foot area. That’s where I typically have most of my issues. I can’t recommend them enough!

Update: I went with the Arahi 8 in 4E and it has been the best running shoes I’ve had in the last 2-3 years! Cushioning is awesome and the stability is great! It helps manage all my injuries! Also, the mid foot is very wide and accommodating. My prior Bondi 7 and the new Gaviota 7 were too narrow in the mid foot even in the 4E sizing. The Arahi 8 is very spacious and I highly recommend them for those with wide feet!

On Cloudsurfer Next, they are firm enough for some ground feel, but have A lot of cushion + they are good for faster runs too. I was very happy with my pair and they are on sale frequently.

Hello! First time posting - I’m hoping someone can help me. I’m looking for an easy/long run/daily shoe to add to my rotation. Going to be starting a marathon training block very soon, so I want something that will last a good chunk of mileage! Currently, I have the following: - Adidas EVO SL (current daily trainer). I like it, but not blown away like others have been, even at faster paces. Looking to replace these and use them for speedwork instead! - Zoom Fly 6 (speed and long runs). Absolutely love this shoe - fits like a dream, feels incredibly stable, incredibly comfortable. Ideally my easy mileage shoe would feel exactly like this, but without a plate. - Asics Metaspeed Sky Tokyo (race shoe). Incredibly fun and fast, fits well also. Retired: - On Cloudsurfer Next (daily trainer). Actually really liked this shoe, but it was on the firm side. Not great for longer runs. - NB 1080v14 (easy shoe). Absolutely hated this shoe for running and took it out of my rotation very quickly - it constantly felt like I was fighting the shoe to get anywhere- a real plodder! Stats if it helps: 30M 6’0” (183cm) Lean 80kg (176lbs) Target marathon time between 3.25 and 3.30 Forefoot striker (mid-foot when fatigued)

I’m gonna get downvoted, but I seriously don’t care. On have some very good running shoes. The Cloudsurfer Next are awesome - I’ve had many other kinds of shoes since then from lots of different brands, but I still love these. This sub has such unnecessary hate for On and it’s so tiring.

You're not alone. From the advice in this sub I recently bought a pair of Salomon's everyone was hyping to replace my Cloudsurfer Next. The salomon is a great shoe, but I'm ordering another pair of those to mix into my routine. The Cloudsurfer Next is extremely versatile as an everyday shoe as well. I even play basketball in them.

I have the 1080v14 as well. They definitely feel like a great everyday easy ride shoe that can take me 15k+. I generally use the EVO SL for my long runs but being a heel striker as well I find the outsole to not have the best durability. Once this next pair dies I’ll likely stick to NB. I’ve also tried the On Cloudsurfer Next. It’s wicked firm and definitely only a shorter (10K or less) daily trainer for me.

I’m wearing on cloud surfers right now at work in a clinic. I got them at a running swap meet. I would never in a millisecond run in them. Day to day, running errands, in a clinic, around the house, sure. But literally running, absolutely not. Some brands sell a lifestyle, others sell actual running shoes. (I know that last line was harsh and I’ve worn cloud monsters and I have a pair on Mach 2s I got as a pacer for a group that I wear sparingly. Like I said, fine, but I’m a new balance girlie. I’m on my 7th pair of fuel cell trainers and just tried sonic blasts from asics because the rep is an acquaintance and has been hyping them since TRE last year)
