The 3 imo is a little more snug than the 4 but I find both of them a great fit personally both are racing fit
Puma deviate elite 3/4 are surprisingly stable. I know you didn’t ask but the Megablast pretty much fits your needs
I have the AP4 and did my first session in the Puma Deviate Nitro Elite 4 just now. Like em both a lot, AP4 is suuuper soft, Puma also soft but way more stable. They both feel quick, but the Puma felt more stable for a Marathon. The AP4 on tired legs is a killer, the Puma is considered one of the quickest shoes at the moment while still being stable. Also the fit feels better, the AP4 feels like a nailcatcher while on my run today the puma felt like a sock, maybe a lil loose. The Puma is brand new but still "only 250" compared to the metaspeed. Tried the metaspeed and would never use it for marathon, because you gotta have perfect form all the way, maybe because my feet felt "wide" in them eventho they arent really. Thats just my experience so far, in the end i think realisticly i would always go for comfort over "pace" because they are all quick, in the end you rather have less pain for the same time and a shorter recovery. Ran my first HM in evo sl's and did a 1.32, also worked without carbon.

Adios Pro 4’s are awesome. A super nice workout/race combo shoe. Big discounts aswell, now that the 5 is launching soon. I just bought the new devite nitro elite 4 exactly for the purpose you are looking for. I am super happy with them, very fast, but also stable, and they come to life with speed.

(similar to this post, but I figured basically no shoe is the same 4 years later: [https://www.reddit.com/r/RunningShoeGeeks/comments/szs59o/saucony\_endorphin\_pro\_for\_an\_overpronator/](https://www.reddit.com/r/RunningShoeGeeks/comments/szs59o/saucony_endorphin_pro_for_an_overpronator/)) I (89kg, quite heavy overpronator, midfoot striker, 5km 19min, 10km 41min, hm 1h31min, running 50km/week) am looking for some proper racing shoes. Until now, I've mostly been using heavy stability shoes (the Asics Gel Kayano 32 are my main trainers, and I run competitions with the Adidas Supernove Solution 3), so I'm a bit insecure on how unstable those super shoes actually are, as I read a lot about collapsing midsoles being an issue with super shoes for overpronators. To clarify: I'm looking purely for (road) raceday shoes. Higher end budget is fine, as long as it gives me shoes that I can actually wear without getting injuries, and be quick on during race days. 1. What are good "super shoes" for overpronators like me? Are there any raceday shoes that specifically target overpronating runners? 2. Are they even worth it? For someone with my overpronation/weight/speed? Honest opinion, how much time would they save me on a 5km/10km/hm/fm? 3. And would anti-pronation insoles work in plated shoes? Or would it "diminish" the energy return? I have read/watched all kinds of reviews about shoes, but it's hard to find reviews on them out of that specifically target performance for overpronators. Saucony Endorphin Pro 4 is mentioned a lot: is it as stable as people say? And is the pro 5 a substantial improvement (with the extra $100)? Or should I better look elsewhere (ZoomFly's?) \----------------- UPDATE: I bought Puma Deviate Nitro Elite 4's. They (together with the Zoomfly 6's) were surprisingly stable, and were much better at preventing overpronation then the Endorphin Pro 5's or Vaporfly 4's, which I found equally unstable (Endorphin pro 4's were not for sale at the store unfortunately) It feels like the shoes have a slight "natural" tendency to keep the inside of your foot slightly higher.
I bought the Puma Velocity Nitro 4 in July 2025 for €116 with a discount and another voucher bringing it to €66 after seeing a positive review on here. Currently have 650km on them. It became my mainstay daily trainer just as I was retiring superblast 1 with 1000km on it over summer. It’s been a great shoe, it could really have been my single rotation shoe. I’ve used them for all of my easy runs, including 90-120 minute Sunday long runs also at easy pace. I prefer them to the superblast 1, which maybe is down to where my fitness was/is. They were extremely blocky. **About me as a hobby jogger:** \- Current plan: I’m following the Norwegian Singles Method planning for a first marathon in autumn \- Weekly mileage: 65-80 km \- Typical paces: easy 05:45 - 06:00/km 21m 5k, 1:43 HM \- 192cm / 85kg \- Usual shoe size and brands that fit well: US 12.5 in all brands, adios pro4 in us 12.5 has given me a bruised second toe though ⸻ **Appearance & build quality**: For the build quality I’d score it a B++. The tongue is gusseted but they don’t do anything, the tongue still slips. There are some glue remnants but this is nitpicky because the price is so good for this shoe. The upper could have been a lot lighter, it soaks up a lot of water in the wet which is annoying for Northern European weather but at least it’s warm when it’s dry. Puma outsole grip has been amazing, there is some scuffing on my left lateral heel but virtually nothing up front. **Weight**: L 274g R 271g in US 12.5, similar in weight to EVO SL 273/277g in US 12.5 **Fit**: I’ve got narrower feet so these have been nearly a perfect fit. The pinky area is a bit annoying, and they feel slightly short in length compared to other US 12.5 shoes like the Boston 13 or Evo sl I have. I have about half a thumbnails space where as the Evo a full thumbnail. Funnily enough I find the fit of the magmax 2 even worse than the velocity with the area around the big toe curving in too much. The deviate elite 3 is a much better fit than the vn4. ⸻ # Ride & Performance **Ride**: hey are cushioned enough for my preferences with a 36/26 heel/forefoot stack for my easy runs. Tempo paces to 10k pace is also fine but I’ve never really run in them at pace for very long. They are very flexible with not much torsional rigidity either, making them very comfortable for me. **Responsiveness**: everyone’s been saying these have an aTPU, maybe it is but tuned differently to the deviate elite 3. At 650km they do feel a bit tired. I’d have to compare them side by side to a new pair but the initial squish and response maybe isn’t there. I will probably take these to 700/800km can’t tell. **Stability**: I do get slight right knee valgus, which is more of a posture and hip issue. Don’t have stability needs. These have a narrower platform compared to the magmax 2 so try them in a store first. These seem very neutral to me. **Heel-to-toe transition**: the geometry is flat, I’m a heel striker and have used these for very easy runs at \~6:00/km pace and you can’t ask for any tinny better. Drop is supposedly 10mm but the inset is thicker at the heel. **Fit while running**: the fit is as good as it gets for me. I’ve never had to stop a run and retie the laces unlike some other shoes. The lockdown is perfect and it’s never bothered me even with its half a thumbnails extra space at the front. ⸻ # Comparisons **Evo SL**: while not a direct comparison, the weight, modern foam, and a good price make them similar. The velocity is more dependable for slow runs and going off light sandy trails. Puma grip is amazing. **Mach 6**: the Mach 6 is more rockered, the outsole and midsole are not in the same league as the vn4. I retired the Mach 6 at 650km they were pancakey and didn’t have much grip for winter running. **Adios 9**: weird to maybe compare these, there’s a 74g disparity, the similarities are very flexible low stack shoes with modern midsole. The cpu outsole on the adios 9 is indestructible but you can’t take it on trails. The adios 9 feels like a slipper. I have fit issues with the current crop of adizero issues. ⸻ **Pros** \- decent ground feel, great flexibility \- puma grip is good, not indestructible like CPU though so I have wear in high wear areas \- One of the best price to performance daily trainers **Cons** \- some folks have fit issues with these \- Spongy upper soaks up water \- Midsole may be too low for high intensity long paced runs ⸻ # Who I Think This Shoe Is For **Best suited for**: daily easy runs, steady runs, road to trail **Probably not ideal for:** wide footers, stability needs ⸻ # What’s Next **Planned future runs:** I can’t really tell when i’ll retire these, could be at 700-800km. One thing I’ve noticed they’re not as assistive as the li-ning red hare 9 ultra I have where I’m bouncing a long at faster paces with similar effort levels. I’ve seen these pop up for as low as €65 so I’d consider these again on the future.
I will most likely be using the puma deviate elite 4, it’s plenty bouncy very light and propulsive for me. The v3 worked better for me than adios pro 4. With how my fitness today a 3:30-3:40 would be nice, since there is still some time ago will have to see. I am a late runner, so am in my mid 40’s, it’s nice hobby to keep some sanity 🤣
Yeah I went a bit extreme, but several shoes are nearly at retirement. I’ve not been running much in the adios 9 as the heel give me blisters/rub sometimes. I wish the heel was more comfortable it’s otherwise an excellent shoe for some easy days and intervals. I said in another comment recently that I took the Evo sl (450km on them) on a 1 week holiday and actually like it a lot. I could probably cut my whole rotation to the EVO SL and deviate elite 3/4. I could have skipped buying the magmax2 and red hare 9 ultra. The magmax is pretty stable and versatile though I just like light shoes. Really haven’t had much bad buys lately. Last bad buy was the endorphin pro 4, very mediocre shoe. I love the deviate elite 3 and recently got the 4 but am saving it up for races.
Agree with this, I’m 86kg with a 20:51 5k, love the deviate elite 3. Bought my first pair for €153 and a second pair for €133 a few months later. The upper is more comfortable than the adios pro 4 for me. I’ve got the deviate elite 4 in a box, haven’t tried them yet. Plan to use them for a local 10k race in June. Last year ran it in 46m in the ap4 hope to get to 43m this time. I’m sure the deviate elite 4 will be fine, the upper feels decent and it’s very light, 200g in US 12.5. Never considered the NB with how expensive they are in the EU.
I agree and add the Puma Deviate Nitro Elite 4 to the suggestions. I have the Deviate Elite 3 and for me it's faster than the Takumi Sen 11.
Megablast is probably the best option by far if the upper works for you. Otherwise Sc elite (v4/5) are both comfort oriented carbon shoes that are not narrow and even with wide options if needed. (Plus similar to your rebels) Puma DNE4 is also quite forgiving yet able to go fast and is wider than previous versions. If you absolutely want nonplated then SB3 is probably worth a look. Reviews so far seems polarizing so it might feel more or less bulky/mushy than your Vomero plus, but definitely more stability.
