Neither are very cushioned but out of all of the speed based shoes I’ve tried and I’ve tried a fare few endorphin speed 4 and sonic blast the latter I’ve been very surprised about feels slightly firm at the heel but I find them excellent for tempo and have not had any niggles injury wise also the magmax 2 is a great cushioned option which you can pick up the pace a little in

Love my puma magmax. I got the V2 and they’ve been great!

I think it’s all dependent on personal preference. I tend to like a little bit more cushioning and moderate support and i pronate a bit. I’m using the NB 860 v14 and they’ve been great. I’ve also just picked up the Puma Magmax 2 and put in some mild support insoles. They’ve been great. Very cushioned and provide enough cushioning for me knees. I would suggest going to a specialty store and try them all on.

I just picked up the Puma Magmax 2 and I’d highly recommend for your easy/recovery days and even the long runs at steady paces. Great bounce and a wide toe box. They did shave some weight from V1 so there is a bit more versatility now.

I’m not a wide size in any shoe but the fit overall is on the wider side IMO. Especially compared to V1. The upper is a bit different adding more comfort

100kg dude. Just ran 21:25 5km in Puma MagMax v2. They’re not supposed to be a fast shoe. But got a heavier dude they’re glorious at all paces.

MagMax 2 is the answer! Stable, leans firm but still very comfortable and good energy return, not insanely rockered so good for slower miles, very light for its size. It reminds me of a superblast that actually feels good at slow paces

This is true, just for me the Bondi 9 feels incredibly heavy and clunky, more akin to a walking shoe. I like something max stacked but lighter and therefore easy to turn over, similar reason I like the aero glide 3 you already have. But the Magmax is even more stable and has more stepping comfort without all of the clunkiness.

V2 is so nice. Bouncy, protective, light for a max stacked shoe, can do easy and long runs comfortably. I’ve even run mine in a few progressive runs from easy-10k pace.  My current 2 shoe rotation is the MagMax 2 for easy and long runs, and SB2 for threshold runs and long runs with race pace simulations.

Puma MagMax 2 (recovery, easy, long) and RAD UFO (easy, long, tempo, basically anything really) have taken a lot of the miles I’d pull the SB2 for. Also have a pair of Vomero 18s I don’t like as much as those 3 but I need to get miles on them so I can retire them lol.

Vomero is definitely softer, but the Magmax 2 feels snappier and edges the V+ in propulsion just slightly for me. Magmax 2 is my new zone 3 banger / steady long run shoe. I’ll be using the Vomero for easy runs with strides.

If you must use a shoe for both, there is no better option than the puma magmax 2 imo. Extremely durable. Comfortable, not too squishy but still feel nice and supportive

Need to try the last two. Love the MagMax 2, it’s my recovery shoe when the legs are shot, and my stroller run shoe. My easy to steady shoes are the UFO and Red Hare 9 Ultra right now.

At that range, I’d keep an eye out for the Puma Velocity Nitro 4. Retails $160 but is regularly on sale from $70-90. Do it all daily trainer.  Puma also has the Magmax which is also on sale a lot but it’s max stack and a bit heavier, but great for slower miles. Both are tanks and would last anywhere from 300-400 miles for most runners. I know people who have taken them much further than that, too.

The thing that’s amazing about the MagMax is it can handle easy as well as long runs, and they are insanely durable with amazing grip. They are a mileage eater, should last anywhere between 500-1k km. I’d go with those if constraints with budget as they are a good bang for your buck

I thought the Magmax was puma’s long run shoe? That’s what I use it for anyway. The 2 is super nice

I'm training in the Puma Magmax and will get a fresh pair for the Manchester marathon, probably the version 2 which is lighter. Im 51, and running my first marathon, so comfort and injury prevention are priorities for me rather than speed

Same here, I'm loving the Magmax. I was worried they'd feel too heavy, but they have been fine. I ran 21km on Sunday in them and I was less tired than the same run in a pair of Asics Nimbus 25.

Sounds like you haven’t tried the magmax nitro 2’s? I have medium/wide feet, fits great with some extra room in my toebox. My current favorite recovery/daily

What super trainers do you like/suggest? I'm currently rocking magmax nitro 2's & vomero 18 plus but looking to add a 3rd pair

I started off with a pair of New Balance 1080 v14's and loved them! Then bought a pair of Puma MagMax Nitro 2's & Nike Vomero 18 Plus. So far the Puma's are my ultimate favorite - lots of bounce/cushion but not unstable

I've ran in a few different pair of shoes and the Puma MagMax Nitro 2's are on an entire different level. Tons of bounce, super comfy, plenty of stability/support! Puma is on top of their game right now so don't sleep on them - I also have Nike Vomero Plus and they are a very close second to the Puma's, I love em

My rotation is vomero plus, magmax nitro 2, and new balanced 1080 v14 Yes all are max cushion shoes but that’s what I like and I’m able to do various workouts in each

Well if you want to go all out on your budget then Puma MagMax 2. It's wider than the Velocity Nitro 4 and can do your daily runs and longer runs and has the the grippy PumaGrip too. It will have everything you need for your half marathon training except speed sessions since while Nitro foam is bouncy, it is offset by its bulk. Edit: For badminton shoes you're going to need a different one. You need firm stable shoes for the sudden direction changes you're going to be doing during badminton and running shoes with their often soft foam isn't going to be good for your ankles

Oh then like the other commenter said anything Pumagrip from Puma. If you want maximum cushion then go for Puma Magmax 1 or 2. Majority of Puma running shoes run narrow though so test one at a store first. If you want something wider and more accomodating then try Asics Gel Nimbus. The AHAR/Hybrid AsicsGrip is more or less on par with Pumagrip.
