It is. Because is comfortable and soft on the landing, many people seem to like it for easy runs too. I favour something firmer like my Puma Magnify Nitro 2. Many people swear by the MagMax. I don't like to waste my EVO SL awesome foam on slow runs!
Yup. I use Adidas for everything but Puma Magnify Nitro 2 for long runs. Haven’t tried the magmax but I assume is even better. The best outsole by far, and they are sooo comfy and hold so well during the long runs.
Cushioned, comfy and easy pace, personally I love my Puma Magnify Nitro 2 😘
PUMA Magnify Nitro 2. Excellent shoe for increasing your miles per week base. Comfortable and the Puma grip is perfect for the road conditions.
It is actually roomy compared Velocity Nitro 3. I have to wear a thicker sock when wearing the Magnify
Hello. I am also a heavy and average runner. I also have a slight Achilles tendon problem. I also use the magnify nitro 2 from the Puma brand. I am generally satisfied. I am considering magmax for my daily training. Will it be compatible and comfortable for 05:00 & 06:30 km/h paces? Is the condition of the foam still good after long-term use? Thank you in advance.
Puma magnify and magmax, Saucony Endorphin Azura (just came out), Novablast 5, Hoka Mach 6, (narrow foot friendly for sure), Tyr Maverick V1 are all lighter and protective but not mushy from my personal experience/research. The 1080v13 and v14 is also my go to casual/walking shoe and they increased the weight quite a bit from one to the other. But even then the 13 was a bit of a slog for me. I think modern trainers have the ability to pick up the pace and protect you on slower runs as well.
They're most likely just going to hurt - they're forcing your foot into a position that may not be natural for it. The most sympathetic support shoe to lower arches are the Mizuno Inspire, but they're dull to run in. Go try a few pair of shoes on and go with what's comfortable. You might be better in a more traditional drop (10mm); Brooks Ghost, Mizuno Rider, Puma Magnify are all great shoes.
I am 6'3, slightly lighter (82-85kg) and have raced in most shoe brands (<1:30 HM). My most important factors are (i) speed and (ii) comfort / toe protection. I train in Asics (Kayano - long slow runs) and Puma (Magnify Nitro - medium moderate run) and race in Puma (Deviate Nitro Elite 3). I am very happy happy with the pumas at the moment against my needs
I tried sl2, puma nitro 2, saucing, and a bunch of others and I tend to believe EVO SL was my most comfortable pair of shoes. So, I’m gonna buy them next again.
If you're going with the popular suggestion of the Puma Nitro, I'd try some on to see if you need to size up. I bought a pair and they were only ever so slighty narrow. Sized up and they were perfect and would definitely recommend too.
I preferred Puma Nitro over Asics. A bit more spring and felt more stable on the patches of grass, gravel and dirt that's unavoidable on my favorite route. But if you liked the Novablast 5 get those again. I still like my very worn Adidas Solar Boost and would buy another pair of I can find unsold new stock. Boost never seems to sag, harden or flatten out, even after the outsoles are worn through.
