Hey everyone, I’m a 42-year-old male runner and I’ve been struggling to find shoes that actually fit my feet. I have narrow, low-volume feet and wear US 12 / EU 46 (sometimes 12.5). I’ve gone through two pairs of Puma Velocity Nitro 2 and 3, they fit me well and have been my go-to daily trainers. Recently, I wanted something a bit more comfortable and fun, so I tried the Asics Novablast 5 that I bought. I love the foam, great forefoot cushioning, protective but still bouncy and energetic. Super fun to run in. Unfortunately, they’re still too wide in the forefoot for me, and I feel some sloppiness even with heel lock lacing. It’s tough to find something that combines a secure fit for narrow feet and that kind of soft, lively ride. I’m thinking maybe the Velocity Nitro 4 (if the fit stays the same) or Hoka Mach 6 (though I’m not crazy about the foam feel). For context, I run 3 times a week, about 25–30 km total (≈15–18 miles), at an easy pace around 5:30–6:00 min/km (8:50–9:40 min/mi). Any recommendations for shoes with a similar feel to the Novablast 5 but better fit for narrow, low-volume feet? Thanks a lot
I'll 2nd Puma The Velocity Nitro 3 is the narrowest shoe I've come across. Also try the Adidas Adizero SL2
The Velocity nitro 3's punch well above their price point. They do have a narrow tow box which isn't for everyone though. If they fit, they're a bargain.
I picked up a pair. Lovely shoes, feel above their price point but have a narrow toe box. If you don't need wide shoes they're a bargain.
Based on my budget, Puma. I'm a below average runner and can live with a 2-shoe rotation, both velocity nitro 3. 😂
I have super narrow feet too. I like the puma velocity 3 and the new fast-r 3. From Nike, Pegasus esp the premium version and the Vaporfly. I can’t really do hoka much because of the lack of a pointy toe box, but their lasts tend to run narrow through the midfoot. The adidas sl2, Takumi sen, and adios 9 are good too. A lot of high stack shoes are also made really wide so that they are more stable, so you have to be really careful with those.
Are there any plans to test on wet asphalt? While they're much better than the Nimbus 25, my experience with the Nimbus 26 is that they're still quite slippery on wet asphalt. I've found my Puma shoes (DN2 and velocity 3) to have much better grip on the same surface.
I bought 3 pairs of the Puma Velocity Nitro 3 because it is the best shoe I’ve ever run in. YMMV, but once you find a shoe you love, buy several pairs and enjoy them while they last!
Velocity 3 is al echt top. Hoor ook alleen maar goede verhalen over de 4. sowieso fitting van puma is echt bizar goed, zeker voor de prijzen
