r/Marathon_TrainingFolks who are in the 3:45-4hr range- what shoes did you wear in your last race and are you happy with that choice?

I was aiming for 3:55-4:15 actually, but just yesterday I finished my marathon a way faster than I thought I'ld ever could at 03:34 and because I was afraid of burning out I slowed down after 30km. I did wear Salomon S/Lab Spectur and I was very happy with my choice.

If you get the chance, try something special like the CEP Bowtech Omnispeed. They’re awesome — super light and unbelievably fast. It might take a bit of time to get used to them at first, but once you find harmony with them, you’ll realize just how insanely quick they really are. The second I can recommend is Salomon S/Lab Spectur, I finished my Marathon with 3:34 in those and had no pain at all afterwards. Also great shoes, a little bit less aggressive but more protection than other supershoes. Both are to get in Europe starting at around 160 € (ca. 180 $).
