If you are a fan of Saucony the Endorphin Elite 2 is pretty great, I have taken it pat 50km and felt comfy and kept me pushing the whole distance

r/runninglifestyleIf you could only run in ONE shoe brand forever, what are you choosing?

Saucony for me, completed my first marathon in ES4's and did my first 50km yesterday in Triumph21's both times my feet held up really well. Not to mention I love my EP2's and just bought some Endorphin elite 2's

r/Marathon_TrainingDo you feel guilty about how much money you spend on shoes?

For some reason I have no self control when it comes to shoes. I had completed my rotation: * Evo SLs for speed work * Bondi 9s for recovery * Neo Zens for long runs * Endorphin Elite 2s for race day I then went to a podiatrist for a toe issue and found out I have Hallux Limitus. I’ve now gone and bought 3 more pairs as I was told I need stiff rockered shoes and the Evo SL and Neo Zens are a no go for me. * Superblast 2 for long runs * Sonicblast for speedwork And I couldn’t resist getting the Endorphin Pro seeing as it was $130 on the sales and it’s a more forgiving race shoe. So in a year, I’ve probably spent $1000 USD on shoes and I’m still ridiculously slow.

1. Asics Superblast 2 - I eat up the most miles in these. Rock steady and high durability. 2. Saucony Endorphin Elite 2 - most fun running shoe I have put on in a long time. Chaotic, but so fun. 3. Saucony Tempus (1) - stability elements help protect my posterior tibialis and inner ankle on uptempo efforts.

Superblast 3 for long easy training runs. Significantly softer and bouncier than the SB2. For race day if you want the softest (but perhaps least stable) shoe I have ever tried on, check out the Endorphin Elite 2. It's wild.

May be worth checking out the Endorphin Pro 5 (or 4 even). The EE2 fit was honestly more accommodating than I was expecting. But I don't have wide feet. Wish I could swing for the EE2 as it was so damn fun.

i ran about a mile in them yesterday before switching to some normal shoes. i was trying to keep all the snap in them for the race. They were so soft! it was weird and you're right, very different from the 1's, which i probably like a little more. however, my 1's have 100 miles on them so i shelved them for marathons and will limit them to speed work. The 2's were very bouncy. I'm going to do another 35 minute run on saturday before the marathon so hopefully they'll firm up. Would you recommend more than that to break them in? I'm running an hour tomorrow and 45 minutes on thursday so i could break them in more with one of those runs. also, thanks for looking out!

Thanks! i actually found the 1's unstable on sharp corners too. i always wonder how many people destroy their ankles using these things. Gonna need this shoe to help combat what's starting to look like a warm race and get me that sub 3.

Similar weight and height with same goals. Have tried ALOT of shoes this year for a lot of miles. My all around shoe that I have 4 pairs of now is the adidas adios pro 3. Nothing comes close. And they are insanely durable, and yes, they can be used even as a daily trainer. Many people use them as such and they are perfect for heavier runners. To name a few shoes I’ve run in (not just tried on), Adios Pro 4, Puma Fast R 3, Saucony Endorphin Elite 2, Sky Tokyo, Adios 9, Prime X 2 Strung, Evo SL, Endorphin Speed 4, Superblast 2, Megablast, Glycerin Max, MagMax, AlphaFly 3, Novablast 5, Hoka Mach 6, Skyward X, Rebel v4, and a lot more I’m forgetting. Adios Pro 3 is king. (Although I do use Puma Fast R 3 for more sessions at threshold and above, including racing).

How do people feel about the New Balance SC Elite v5 for a marathon? I just ran a half in Endorphin Elite 2s and they felt good for a little while but were way too unstable for the second half of the race. I’ve heard that the SC v5s are one of the more stable super shoes out there. Any thoughts? For context, I’m shooting for somewhere in the 2:40s for my full

Thanks! Maybe I just need to try some more out. I’ve only ever used the EE2s. I liked the softness, but i felt like the bounce had my feet going in every direction after a few miles

Yeh I got a pair of those the other day from hype. I don't know if I'd (2:50) run a mara in them. They apparently have amazing energy return (my pace v hr definitely showed this post session) but they felt kind of flat & like I was running with semi firm pancakes on my feet.

r/AskRunningShoeGeeksWide foot running shoes?

I'm not sure what to tell you about trying them on in your area because I'm half way around the world from you but New Balance offers the vast majority of their lineup in wide and extra wide and actually fun colourways. Hoka seems to do this as well but I haven't really got on well with Hoka shoes. You might though! I've been pretty lucky fitting into standard width Saucony stuff. I grew tired waiting for the Endorphin Speed 5 to launch in a wide flavour last year so I tried on the standard width and it worked for me. Should I probably have a wide? Ehhhh, depends on how much my feet swell on the run but the upper is pretty accommodating and I never feel the pinch in them. My Endorpin Trainer though also isn't wide but that one does fit snug but lacing techniqes to prevent mid-foot snugness really help that shoe be comfortable. I've also tried on the Endorphin Elite 2 and Endorphin Pro 4 and they both fit me amazing despite being 'standard width'. So Saucony might be worth looking into for you? Can't hurt anyway. I've not had much success getting wide stuff with Asics as all the top shelf stuff doesn't come in wide but I've done a few Asics demo nights and while both the Megablast and Superblast v2 don't come in wide they're pretty snug on my 2e foot and not something I would want to drop full pop on because of that. And that's really a shame because I like both of them quite a lot. I do have the Novablast 5 in wide though and that one just feels incredibly wide. Like maybe wider than your standard 2e and the upper is kind of.... Baggy? Either way, it does fit kind of sloppy but I bought that shoe without being able to try on the wide. I regret it and should have sent it back. Recently did an Altra demo night and tried on both the Experience Flow v3 and Experience Wild v3. Those fit me pretty incredibly well and from talking with the rep, while they don't explicitly offer wide shoes their toeboxes are generally ample. So that might be worth a shot for you too. Anyway, [check out this page from Asics](https://www.asics.com/nz/en-nz/mk/choosing-the-right-running-shoe/lacing) on shoe lacing. Their tips for wide feet lacing really helped me. Like for example with my Endorphin Trainer that is quite tight, I do their wide foot lacing technique with heel lockdown to make it work for me. Is it ideal? No, but it does work and make a shoe I couldn't return actually useful and surprisingly comfortable. I guess what I'm getting at here is New Balance seems to offer the most wide options for 2e/4e guys, standard width Saucony stuff seems to fit *me* okay for the most part but I'd try it on first and Altra is a contender for my next pair of shoes based on a demo. Plus there's ways to lace that might make a standard width shoe a bit more comfortable if that is your only option. Lastly, just go try on some shoes. It can be a pretty fun experience if you find the right shop where the people helping you are genuinely into it.
