Saucony for me, completed my first marathon in ES4's and did my first 50km yesterday in Triumph21's both times my feet held up really well. Not to mention I love my EP2's and just bought some Endorphin elite 2's
Pro 2 are too stiff in comparison with later models
Saucony endorphin pro, very happy, shoes arrived too close to race day and didn’t have much time to test them anyway went with them and don’t regret it. Only thing I regret is being too careful and not pushing more
I’m not a fast runner. I have Saucony Endorphin Speed shoes for races and faster drill runs and feel absolutely great in those shoes.
Whoops. Never mind. They’re the Pro 2 Either way I like the feel of the plate
I have an endorphin pro 2, complements it really well.
Endorphin speed 2 and endorphin pro 2 for just under 30 bucks each on eBay, this was in 2023. I still run in both, the speeds for everyday runs and the pros for races
I've been a Nike runner for the last decade, only because they've always just fit my feet better. For example I own Saucony Endorphin Pro 2, but it just doesn't really fit my foot. I can run fast in it, but with a lot of discomfort (compared to no discomfort at all with Vaporfly). Have Saucony or Asics changed the shape of their shoes at all?
Same here, ran 3 marathons in Saucony endorphin pro 2. Nearing 200 miles so I might have to look for another pair.
I’m trying to break 4hrs on my upcoming 4th attempt. I ran the first 3 in Saucony Endorphin Pro 2. Great carbon plate shoe. I really like the whole endorphin series.
I’ve gone through way too many pairs these last few years and the best shoe I’ve encountered is the Saucony Endorphin Speed. I’ve had a couple generations of it, and they’re all pretty great. It’s light, the foam is S tier, and the nylon plate makes them snappy and stable. I still race in Endorphins Pro 2s, but will likely upgrade to the Elite 4s in 2026. The Endorphin line is amazing. I also liked the On CloudEclipse quite a bit, and the looks were on point. Same goes for the Cloudmonster Hyper. They just released their new generations. Excited to try the new Eclipse Max at some point. Puma has been doing great stuff. I put 400mi on the Deviate Nitro 2s and was happy with the results. People love the new Magmax. I avoid Nike because I’ve gotten injured in the past with them, but their zoomX is the best in the business. Even if you don’t buy them, try a zoomX pair out in store. It’s pretty incredible. I also avoid Hoka because their crash pads drive me crazy, but I tried the Skyward X and really liked it. Haven’t tried any Adidas, but everyone in the running world is proclaiming the Evo Sl as the ultimate everyday trainer. Also haven’t tried any New Balance or ASICS lately. Brooks is interesting. I rotate in a pair of Brooks Hyperion Max 2 because they’re super snappy and fast but the foam is so stiff. It hurts. I tried the Glycerin Max in store and was decently impressed. Lots of people like it as a max cushion trainer. Good colorways too. Low key, the Skechers performance line is incredible. They usually look wild, but the tech and performance is super shoe level. They just rebranded the line, so now it’s Aero. IMHO their foam is on par with Nike, Adidas and Saucony. I put 2000+ miles on the previous generation of their supertrainer (Max Road 5, 6) and absolutely loved them. Hope that helps someone, somewhere.
I've noticed this too being a relatively light guy who runs. Around 70kg at 5'10 ish and especially shoes from Saucony can wind up lasting 700+ miles. I still have a pair of Endorphin Pro 2's from 2021 which honestly dont feel that much different than my current pair of Endorphin Speeds from 2024.
Superblast will be too heavy for him at that pace. EVO SL would work great. Can also look on ebay for Endorphin Pro 2. They were fantastic shoes. Not the crazy stack height you see now, but fast and fun.
