In your experience, how do the 3’s compare to the 4’s for marathon? I love the 3’s. Thanks.
I have super flat feet and can attest the saucony endorphin pro 3s are super stable and felt great for 26.2 miles. Ran about a 7:54 pace and didn’t have any issues.
My most recent race shoe purchase is the AP4. Haven’t run a full in them yet, but have done some shorter races. Previously, I’ve raced halfs and fulls in the Clifton 8, Vaporfly 2, Alphafly 1, Endorphin Speed 2, Adios Pro 3, Zegama 1, Topo Specter 1, Endorphin Trail, Endorphin Pro 3, Endorphin Speed 3, and Tyr Valkyrie Speedworks. AP3 has been my favorite of those. Ran 2 halfs and 2 fulls in them plus an ultra and then put a lot of miles in them as a daily trainer. Great shoe. AF1 was great too, but I did a lot more daily miles than races in those.
I race in the Endorphin Pro 3s and love them - they’ve been replaced now but I’ve heard good things about the 4s.
Slightlt heavier heel striking runner here. I'm an Endorphin Pro guy, 3 was fantastic, 4 slightly less but still great.
I can only recommend what I’ve used, which include Saucony Endorphin Pro 3, Endorphin Elite v1, Adidas adios pro 3 (loved the ride but the upper cut into my heel so limited usage for me), and about to use the NB elite 5 next weekend. Of those I liked Saucony elite the most. I’m just sub-1:30 in the half.
Megablast is relatively stable - but idk how stable we’re talking. I also had an endorphin pro 3 that was goated and stable, idk how the new EP4 is
I recently tried running longer runs in these and found on uneven ground the front right of my feet started hurting pretty intensely. Since it was before my HM I decided to switch back to the speed 3s and was able to recover from that in time. Probably something with my run form and not having run in carbon plated shoes but planted a doubt about plates etc. I got it true to size and on warmer days I have to be careful to tie the runners knot ‘just right’ which means fiddling with it a few times during the run.
