30M 6'1'' 230 pounds, coming back to running after 3 years long break. When I used to run I was a Heel striker, 5:30-6:00 minutes/km, usually around 30 km a week, more when half training. I used to have: **Mizuno Wave sonic** First running shoes, loved these, no notes. **Saucony Kinvara 12** Okay - midfoot was a bit narrow for me, still managed to train for and run a half marathon in these. What I am looking for: * Firmer foam * stable heel * lower stack * wider in midfoot I searched around here and runrepeat and it feels like boston 13 might suit me well. I also looked at asics Superblast 2/3, but for some reason I can't find my size where I live. are Boston 13s good choice? what other model should I look into?

Hey there, so i noticed that after trying to increase my mileage this spring to around 30-35 km per week, my pair of saucony **Kinvara 13** as my sole pair just isn't a good idea. I just can't run longer than 50ish minutes in them anymore before getting some sort of ache (ankle, knee or hip). I love the shoe so much that i retired my **Brooks Gylcerin 20** over a year ago- i just couldn't bear the 12mm drop anymore - and have been running in the Kinvara 13 exclusively since, exception being my Altra Lone Peak 9+ for very muddy conditions past fall and winter. I even completed my last Half Marathon in the kinvara (1h43). But now i need something new. For faster runs and races i would probably still stick to the Kinvara (grabbing the newer 15 or 16) I weigh around 86 kg (190 pounds) and am not the fastest (easy pace is around 6:40/km, tempo around 5:20-5:30, 5K pace around 4:40 atm). My goal is a sub 20min 5K this year, no marathon, maybe a half one. I walk almost exclusively in zero drop shoes (Merell Moab and formal dress shoes are the exception) or barefoot and really love a very direct and responsive feel. My size is UK 11 or US 12 or EU 46. So with all that said, i want your opinion: I was thinking about getting one of those better foam shoes out there for anything that is longer and not very fast. * **Adizero Evo SL** was on the shortlist, but i think i want a bit more stability, and its lots of dirt and gravel around here. * **Saucony Endorphin Azura** is next up, similar but a bit more stable * **Asics Novablast 5** was recommended by someone i know, but may be a bit too soft? I would love some input, maybe other options i should consider? Please bear in mind that i really don't want high drop, 8mm is the maximum for me, preferably 4-6mm. Thanks in advance!

I’m just getting back into running after a year hiatus. Been having some great runs in my kinvara 13s but they’re at end of life. Picked up a pair of kinvara 16s apparently closer to older style than the 14&15. I havnt done a whole lot of research I’ve been out of the running game for a bit, anybody using the 16s? How they compare with 13s? I will test for myself this weekend.

I run through a metric ton of shoes and I think people make too big of a deal out of which shoes to choose. Have a few trusted models that you know fit you well and just hunt for whatever is on sale. Personally Boston 13 and EVO SL are my go to for everything, and Boston 12 and saucony kinvara are the only shoes I’d say absolutely fucking sucked. But otherwise I’ll run in whatever.
