my comment was asking about the azura. i just got ride 19s, but think i need to return them and get a half size down.

yeah, i'm usually a 10.5 in most things. but doing the thumb test, these feel like a thumb and a half. i'll get the 10s and 9.5's and return whichever are worse.

Instep is killing me after last night’s run. I believe it’s the shoes since the issue never manifested until I ran in the Rides. I’m on my second pair, and it’s not an issue of getting broken in — it’s painful. It reminds me of the time a well-meaning running buddy handed me some instep inserts about 20 or so years ago. Same pain. Just ordered some Adrenalines. Back to Brooks.

Honestly I would upgrade to Ride 19 or if you want something snappy for race day / speed workouts get Endorphin Speed. In fact if you go online you could likely get a Ride 18 as a new daily trainer and a Speed 4 for about the same price as if you were to get the current model of just one. Last year’s models are bargains!

Saucony all the way.  I cannot imagine under any circumstances giving up my Endorphin Speeds!  Rides are my go to daily trainer, Hurricane easy/recovery shoe.  There’s something about the fit that feels made for me.

So funny - I just had inaugural Azura run last week. No problem with tongue of shoe but I came away from it feeling like it was harsher ride than I expected. I use Speed 4 for speedwork and in a head to head I would pick the Speeds every day for faster pace efforts. And for long run comfort (10-16mi in my case) I go for Rides. Maybe my experience is a little different being a lightweight woman?

I just got these shoes this weekend.  Ran around the block to try them out and yowza!  They are great!  Reluctantly putting them aside for the next few weeks, though.  Coming out of a six weeks long injury period so sticking with tried and true Rides for just a little longer so as not to upset the applecart by introducing a new variable until well and truly over this knee thing!

I ended up not going for them and I'm waiting on the Azura instead. I might still go with the Ride 19 if the Azura doesn't work out. When I tried them on at the store they were comfy and had a good step in feel. Remind me in 2 weeks and I'll provide you with an update.

I've tried out a bunch of different shoes including some of the more exciting ones, but the Ride just fits my feet perfectly and they don't give me any issues whatsoever. Asics just don't work with my foot shape and the Velocity Nitro 4 was far too narrow. Buy what's comfortable and works for you, not what everyone else says is the best, that's the lesson I've learnt when it comes to buying running shoes.

Tried it on and didn't like the feel of the foam, kinda lifeless. Ended up leaving the store with the hurricane as my everyday shoe, same nice stability elements but the foam has more pop.

Love these as a daily trainer. But I like my 18's a little bit more. They feel the same but are just a tiny bit lighter. Not an exciting shoe but I don't want an exiting shoe for these types or runs. I want something that feels good, doesn't make me work harder than I need to, and most importantly keeps my legs/feet fresh so I can do my hard run in my exciting shoes the next day. Out of all the daily options I have, this one feels the best at both slow and fast paces. If you can find an 18 in your size, they are quite a bit cheaper right now.

I bought another pair of 18's after buying the 19's. The 19's are my treadmill and "clean shoes" for the gym now. I might buy another pair of 18's while they are still around.

I have flat feet and I use superfeet run (used to be carbon) low arch inserts. No issues with Saucony Ride, Hoka Mach 6, multiple new balance (currently have rebel v4 and 1080 v14), and Brooks Ghost and Glycerin. I did have problems with Adrenaline 22 and 24. Which is the most recommended shoe for flat feet. Arch and Achilles pain

They will last you a long time, plus they have good energy return from the eTPU midsole. It's not mind-blowing shoe, but a traditional workhorse that will outlast many other daily trainers
