So far I've been very impressed with the Bobsweep Dustin . It doesn't like socks, string, ribbon or paper towels on the floor, but who does? Anything larger than that it avoids. If it encounters the above, it notifies me what's wrong and where it is and how to clear it. Several places have Bobsweep models on sale for Christmas (including Sam's). I haven't been disappointed with the product nor the app.
I bought a cheap one with Lidar from Sams Club for $200 (bObsweep Dustin). Literally life-changing. Sure sometimes it gets stuck when i forget a cord, or the map gets confused and has to reset. But it's so convenient and really does get 95% of what i would normally vacuum. Highly recommend
I love my bObsweep Dustin. I got it for $180 from sams club, it’s originally $850. I find it to be incredible and you can usually find it for sale on at least one website for under $300. Edit: it’s on sale at bObsweeps website, target, walmart and sams for $250 - $280
I felt just like you and bought a Dustin Bobsweep from Sam's club when it was on sale for $200. I read the bad reviews and decided to try it for myself. Honestly - the mopping is "meh". But the vacuum is awesome, being able to sit at work and tell the vacuum to go to whichever room I want is wonderful. I do use it to mop also but with the knowledge that if i want the hardwood floors done, I will do them myself but "Bob" (nickname) has already gotten all the hair and dirt up! I have only had it about a month but I am not sure how I could live without it. Might buy a second one just in case this one has any issues. If you absolutely have to have a mop, then go with something more expensive, this one get surface dirt but streaks. Whatever you go with, you will be so happy you did it, nothing like coming home everyday to "no" dog hair in my house!
I just bought the Bobsweep Dustin on sale for $180 US from Sam’s Club and it mops and vacuums surprisingly good
I really like my Bobsweep "Dustin" I got from Sam's club
I’ve only ever owned one robot vacuum and it's the BobSweep Dustin, so I can't compare to other brands. I bought it because it was on sale at Best Buy and the reviews were decent, so I decided to give it a try. So far, I’m 100% satisfied. I set it to vacuum every night, and my floors have never been this clean. We have a cat, and that’s never been an issue. I clean the roller and wheels about once a month, but most of what I have to remove is my girlfriend’s long hair. It comes with a base that automatically empties the robot and collects the dust in a bag. The robot itself is very quiet. I run it on the lowest setting and can barely hear it. The base is pretty loud when it empties the robot, but you can choose not to empty it after every run. In my case, I set it to never auto-empty and just run it manually from time to time. Some negative reviews mentioned the app felt a bit outdated, but personally I think it works really well. I've never used the mopping function. Can't say if it's good or not but I have a feeling it's not. I don't use it because I feel it would vacuum wet dust and it could create mold or whatever. Edit: just wanted to add, I bought it for CAD $239 instead on $999. I would never pay full price for it. But if you find it heavily discounted I think it's worth it.
Sharks are terrible. They basically due a week after warranty goes. And not just a little, like unusable. They also dont do well with pet hair or larger floor plans. Roombas are fine for a couple years, but then break frequently. Customer service is good but its weeks without your vacuum. Bobsweep works well except for the self emptying. Its not everytime but about once a week, I do have to take out the debris in the Dustin as it won't go into the bin of the base. I think robot vacuums just aren't quite where people think they are.
I don’t have experience with Ecovacs, but I did get a bobsweep on sale and I don’t use the mapping feature or app. I live in a tiny studio so there’s not a whole lot to clean but I’m disabled so every little bit helps. After reading the poor app reviews, I read that you don’t have to use the app, it has a “go” button that you press and it does the rest, including emptying itself at the home base. After watching it a couple of times I noticed that it does it’s best to get all the edges of an area first, then gets the middle, and when the battery starts to get low it goes back to empty and recharge. I don’t use the mop feature (I heard this brand isn’t the greatest for that) but it vacuums well. Whatever you buy make sure you get an answer about how to use your vacuum without an app and how it performs. I’m actually glad I don’t need the app and can just push the button. Some prefer the app for mapping and having a schedule set automatically for a cleaning but in my case it’s unnecessary.
The bobsweep model I have, comes with detergent. I bet that same detergent works on your model too.
