I have a BobSweep Dustin Plus and a BobSweep Combo. They can often be gotten for less than 300. They’ve been great! The combo is basic mopping, meaning it doesn’t self refill water or automatically clean the mop heads, but both for self emptying for vacuuming. Super handy. There is a little learning curve for best use (pick up your socks and charge cables).
So far I've been very impressed with the Bobsweep Dustin . It doesn't like socks, string, ribbon or paper towels on the floor, but who does? Anything larger than that it avoids. If it encounters the above, it notifies me what's wrong and where it is and how to clear it. Several places have Bobsweep models on sale for Christmas (including Sam's). I haven't been disappointed with the product nor the app.
I bought a cheap one with Lidar from Sams Club for $200 (bObsweep Dustin). Literally life-changing. Sure sometimes it gets stuck when i forget a cord, or the map gets confused and has to reset. But it's so convenient and really does get 95% of what i would normally vacuum. Highly recommend
I had a Dustin and recently upgraded to an ecovacs t80s. There's no comparison. The Dustin was constantly choking on dog hair and the navigation was poor. It was still useful enough that we ran it for 2 years, but I would imagine that even today's $200 offerings would run circles around it. The t80s has yet to have even a single hair wrap incident, much less one that would cause it to throw an error or stop working.
I just bought the Bobsweep Dustin on sale for $180 US from Sam’s Club and it mops and vacuums surprisingly good
I really like my Bobsweep "Dustin" I got from Sam's club
I’ve only ever owned one robot vacuum and it's the BobSweep Dustin, so I can't compare to other brands. I bought it because it was on sale at Best Buy and the reviews were decent, so I decided to give it a try. So far, I’m 100% satisfied. I set it to vacuum every night, and my floors have never been this clean. We have a cat, and that’s never been an issue. I clean the roller and wheels about once a month, but most of what I have to remove is my girlfriend’s long hair. It comes with a base that automatically empties the robot and collects the dust in a bag. The robot itself is very quiet. I run it on the lowest setting and can barely hear it. The base is pretty loud when it empties the robot, but you can choose not to empty it after every run. In my case, I set it to never auto-empty and just run it manually from time to time. Some negative reviews mentioned the app felt a bit outdated, but personally I think it works really well. I've never used the mopping function. Can't say if it's good or not but I have a feeling it's not. I don't use it because I feel it would vacuum wet dust and it could create mold or whatever. Edit: just wanted to add, I bought it for CAD $239 instead on $999. I would never pay full price for it. But if you find it heavily discounted I think it's worth it.
Possible controversial suggestion, but try a Bobsweep Austin when they are on sale at BestBuy for $179. Might not last a lifetime but it will help get the job done. Had one for almost 2 years now.... hasn't been problem free, but the first year it worked like a charm. Support is pretty good at getting you replacement parts for free if it's under 2 years old.
Sharks are terrible. They basically due a week after warranty goes. And not just a little, like unusable. They also dont do well with pet hair or larger floor plans. Roombas are fine for a couple years, but then break frequently. Customer service is good but its weeks without your vacuum. Bobsweep works well except for the self emptying. Its not everytime but about once a week, I do have to take out the debris in the Dustin as it won't go into the bin of the base. I think robot vacuums just aren't quite where people think they are.
I have not one but 2 robovacs, one of which is a "pet grade." Paid extra. Still runs over pee spots and leaves hair on the floor. What DOES help: A portable groomer pet vac that came with brushing and dentangling tools as well as shaver. The hair just gets slurped into the vacuum while grooming. The brush and fine brushes do a great job getting all the under fluff. AND, there is less on the floor after weekly grooming. Gotta bush the dog anyhow, might as well vacuum it, not the floor! This little apparatus cost $125 at Costco a couple of years ago. I have not seen it there for a while. Name brand is FurMe. Amazon and QVC both have it, for more money.
I have Roomba pet edition and one called BobSweep. Both self-emptying variety. I am much more impressed with BobSweep than the finicky Roomba that I paid extra for the "pet" edition and as mentioned it runs over dog pee anyhow and does not do a great job with slurping up dog hair.
I do not recall the specifics or model name. Just that it was a self-docking, self-emptying (inconsistent). Thus far have not had a poop problem. Just pee. Amazingly it avoids spilled water! I keep a friends' 2 dogs when she comes to visit her kids, and her boy and mine have a little territorial peeing the first day. Just little squirts... the perfect size for Roomba to find. I have 2 because of the configuration of my house and keep the dogs out of half of it. Mostly keep them out, that is. When Roomba dies I will unleash Bob into the rest of the house.
