Thank you for making me look at the D20 Pro. I’m similar to OP and was going to pull the trigger on a Eufy L60 but when you mentioned the D20 I had a peek. For $60 more the suction goes from 5000pa L60 -> 13000pa D20 that’s a win
We don’t prioritize the mop feature either. My husband is leery of an unsupervised machine using water on the hardwood. 2 dogs & 3 kids - I’m looking forward to D20s help.
I hear you! I scrolled the sub reading other people’s questions looking for matching parameters. I ended up buying a Dreame D20 Pro (2 dogs, 3 kids, hardwood) BUT it’s under the Christmas tree. $400 CAD
I just unwrapped the Dreame D20 Pro and it’s love. 3 kids, 2 dogs + a cat - mostly hardwood with 3 low pile mats. It’s so quiet when it’s running I was shocked. The self empty is canister vacuum loud for the 15seconds it runs. Has no issue with obstacles. We don’t have huge sq. ft and it copes fine.
I generally recommend autoemptying for homes with pets that shed a lot. My old robot didn’t have one and it’s 500mL dustbin would clog up with fur after one run Q5 max+ and the q8 max+ are good choices because of the duorollers. The passive mop is easily removable and isn’t the main focus of this robot anyway. If you were in the eu I’d check out the dreame d20 pro plus for its antitangle dual rollers and fur compression feature.
https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/roborock-q8-max-black-smart-robot-vacuum-mop-with-self-emptying-5500-pa-06970995788105/ I’d get the Q8 Max+ at 600 AUD. If you want a bigger dustbag, there’s the dreame D20 Pro Plus at 699 with a 5L dustbag so you will have to throw out and replace a dustbag less often. https://dreame.com.au/products/dreame-d20-pro-plus-auto-empty-robot-vacuum-and-mop Dust bags are much cheaper when bought from resellers. Some also like to vacuum out the contents in the robot’s dustbag with their manual vacuum so it lasts longer but you’ll still have to replace it as the fibers will be saturated with fine dust over time.
Dreame: L40s Ultra/Pro Ultra, L50 Pro Ultra, L50 Ultra, X50 Pro Ultra/Master, Matrix 10, Aqua 10 Roller/Ultra Roller/Pro Track/Ultra Track, and the D20 Pro Plus
The dreame D20 Plus at 329, the MOVA E30 Pro Plus at 349, and the Dreame D20 Pro Plus at 365 USD will be perfect for you. It has antitangle dual main brushes and a tangle resistant side brush which is a lifesaver for those with long hair and fur. I’ve had robots with the same antitangle dual main brushes and they’ve never choked on waist length hair and long haired corgi fur. It also has a big dust bin at 500mL and a 5L dustbag it autoempties into. There’s a removable mopping compartment too which will do at best passive swiffer mopping. If you can’t figure out the differences let me tell you what they are: The only difference between them is that both the MOVA E30 Pro Plus and the Dreame D20 Pro Plus has an extendable side brush which helps at getting little fur bunnies in corners or reaching under furniture like your fridge when cleaning along it and that the D20 Plus doesn’t. The MOVA E30 Pro Plus boasts 19,000 Pa over the Dreame D20 models but I never consider boasted pascal rating as they’re often gamed and don’t really mean anything by themselves.
The best basic choice would be the Dreame D20 Plus and the best cost effective choice (based on features) would be the MOVA E30 Pro Plus. I’d wait for Black Friday which should be Nov 20-ish onwards.
Reliable connectivity is basically a given for most modern robots from the big brands. I’d definitely check out the dreame d20 pro plus/d20 plus or the MOVA e30 pro plus (basically the dreame d20 pro plus but can be found for cheaper) as they are vacuum focused robots with a removable mop pad and do great with fur since they have dual antitangle brushes and a fur compression feature that has worked well.
It’s definitely great for fur!
I’d check out the dreame d20 if you just want a basic no frills vacuuming focused robot that does well with long hair and has a basic charging base station. The dreame d20 plus and the pro plus has an autoempty station. The MOVA e30 pro plus ultra is going to be the best bang for buck if you want what the dreame d20 pro plus offers at a lower price. Would also check out the roborock q10 s5+ as a great budget friendly vacuum focused robot. MOVA sent me their v50 ultra and their z60 ultra roller to review as part of their Reddit collaboration program. MOVA’s hyperstream antitangle duorollers that the dreame d20 series also has really do work with waist length hair and my long haired corgi’s fur on hard floors and carpets.
The Q10 S5+ is a good budget robot. If your pets shed a lot I’d check out the dreame d20 plus or the d20 pro plus as it has a fur compression feature that lets it do better with fur without clogging up in the middle and leaving empty space on the sides.
I’d recommend a robot good with fur like the dreame d20 pro plus and the MOVA e30 pro plus as their dual antitangle brushes do well with fur and their large dustbin paired with the fur compression feature which compacts the fur in the dustbin with airflow can hold a lot of fur. This is a vacuuming focused model so don’t expect great mopping as I’m pretty sure you value it being able to tackle all that fur more. You can see justadad’s review of it here: https://youtu.be/qkjU7Ge0FEA They will not avoid any pet messes so do check before you run them. If you want it to avoid things like cables, the Dreame l40 ultra and the MOVA p10 pro ultra are good vacuum and mop combo choices but I think the dustbin will be easily clogged with fur.
Combo: roborock qrevo c pro Vacuum only: roborock Q10V Plus (my pick as it seems pretty close to the q10 s5+ which does well on carpet and has a floating main brush so it can get closer to the floor) or the dreame d20 pro plus at 599 with an antitangle brush which works great with fur Get these robots from somewhere like Harvey Norman, JB HIFI, or the good guys for easier returns :)
Many good options exist! Very happy to report that my robot can battle my long haired corgi’s fur and drool. 3rd party consumables are easily accessible on other platforms like AliExpress/taobao Will say that the eufy e25 has been noted by some owners to be loud when autoemptying. Other than that it should work fine in your home :) I’d really go for a robot with a larger dustbin (300-500mL) and can fully make use of its dustbin space. Models would include something like the dreame 20 pro plus/mova e30 pro plus for a cheaper vacuum focused robot but higher end robots like the roborock QRevo Curv S5X (I’ve seen several cat owners put cat ears on their robot’s base station) or the dreame x50 (found for 699 at their US physical store which ships for free and the higher than average battery consumption should be fine since you live in an apartment)
I’d also check out the dreame d20 plus/pro plus and the MOVA e30 pro ultra if fur tangles are a concern as they have antitangling main brushes that have worked great in my experience. MOVA did send me their v50 and z60 ultra roller for free to review.
I’d definitely check out the dreame d20 plus/pro plus, the MOVA E30 pro plus, or the roborock Q10 S5+ but the roborock is more likely to have hair tangle around its brush. They all come with a mop but these mops are more of an afterthought and are easily removable. Get them from amazon for easy returns~
I’d recommend the Dreame l40 ultra and the MOVA p10 pro ultra at 400-450. Although they are vacuuming and mopping combo robots, they’re pretty good vacuum robots with great obstacle avoidance, chair legs and wires won’t be a concern. If it’s only chair legs that’s a concern, I’d check out the roborock q10 s5+ or if hair and fur shedding is a concern the dreame d20 plus/pro plus and the MOVA e30 pro plus which should be in the 200-400 range.
Depends if you want the robot to vacuum or vacuum and mop. Most combo robots generally sacrifice vacuuming ability to accommodate the mop parts. Best budget vacuuming focused robot is the roborock q10 s5+ or the dreame d20 plus/pro plus in the 200-300 range if pet fur is more of a concern. The Dyson VisNav 360 can be considered if you want a robot that cleans as well as a cordless Dyson (yes, a Dyson is one of the best robot vacuums) but there are tradeoffs regarding its battery life and navigation (current owners say it has improved). I’d only consider the Dyson if it is less than half of its retail price. Do not get the Dyson Spot+Scrub unless you like to burn your money. Best bang for buck robot vacuum and mop combo is the dreame l40 ultra at 400 usd on amazon.
I think dreame and MOVA have vacuuming focused robots that are better suited for heavily shedding pets like their d20 plus/pro plus, and the MOVA E30 as it has the fur compression feature so the dustbin won’t clog in one part with a lot of empty space in the middle. If you want something that mops, I’d get the edge 5V1 as it has an antitangle main brush. Hot air mop drying helps a lot in prevent mildew unlike the QV35 and the QV35A.
I’d check out the dreame d20 plus/pro plus or the MOVA e30 pro plus as vacuuming focused robots as their dual antitangle rollers do well for carpet!
I highly recommend combo robots if your parents walk around the house barefoot, it greatly improves the feel! The combo robots I found best for keeping itself clean are the dreame and MOVA robots with the filter self cleaning function and the flat washboard. I was able to get away with making my MOVA V50 run everyday for 3 months without a noticeable change in cleanliness. After that it’ll be and the roborock Curv 2 Pro and the Narwal spinning mop robots which generally consume more water than the other options. The app is going to be a challenge for them but you can set it up for them and put it on a schedule so they won’t have to open the app at all.
Thanks for sharing! I hypothesize that the X50 Ultra's poor battery life is likely due to the more power-hungry computer chip it utilizes. My own experience with the L40s Pro Ultra (mainland Chinese version) had a *worse battery life* that struggled to finish cleaning my home whereas my much cheaper combo Xiaomi robot (also mainland Chinese version) that has the same battery capacity and is also made by Dreame would be able to vacuum first and then mop my small apartment and finish with 50%. Other reviewers have reported that the L40s Pro Ultra (non-mainland Chinese edition) had a bad battery life, just like me :( Hopefully, this issue will be fixed soon. I hope the Dreame Aqua 10 Pro Track doesn't suffer the same battery life issue, especially because it'll need a more powerful chip to process all the information coming from the HD binocular RGB cameras and the dot projector, and a power-efficient water heater in the robot to heat the water up.
We purchase the Dreame D20 Pro Plus last month with the same requirements but a larger area. Thus far we’re very satisfied though the app does take some tweaking to get things right and the bot needs a few runs to get smarter. No hair or fur tangles.
I got the Dreame D20 Pro Plus a couple of weeks ago. I have a dog that sheds a lot and I am happy to report that the dual roller design has done its job and it is not being tangled with dog hair.
I recently got the Dreame D20 Pro Plus, which I'm happy with. You can read around here for opinions on the brand, but I think it's a solid vacuum for $300ish
i mean i got a Dreame D20 Pro Plus Robot Vacuum it is a best but i love it
I have the same model and have done the same thing! It works wonders on my hard floors and I just ignore the mop feature. I have not attached the pad.
Happy with my Dreame D20 pro plus or whatever adjectives they tack on. It has excellent mapping and obstacle avoidance. Very happy with the vacuum. Mopping seems gimmicky. I've left the "mop" off.
Take a look at the dreame D20 Pro Plus. 1300pa. On sale for $309. Doesn't effectively mop, though. If you buy, just buy for the vacuum. I use world's best corn on laminate and it does a good job. You can manually choose the suction. So you could set up a separate run at max suction around the litter box separate from your normal run.
Dreame D20 pro plus. The mopping is useless and I've literally never attached the mop pad. When that accessory is off, it knows it is vacuum only.
I'm very happy with my Dreame D20 pro plus. Just don't bother attaching the mop. I have two cats and about 1000sqft of laminate.
Roborock Q10 S5+ is what I picked for a family member gift. I personally have the Dreame D20 pro plus and it's been wonderful if you don't care about mopping. I have two cats. The Dreame has been $309 lately. I bought the Roborock because it was $259 and the company has a better reputation than Dreame for supporting their products.
I got the Dreame D20 pro+ and I love it! Never bothered attaching the "mop" though.
Yes. I love Costco and was really hoping to buy my vacuum there but ended up buying from Amazon because of what they carried. I ended up with a Dreame D20 pro plus. I'm very happy with it but would try and get Roborock if I had to do it over.
I just bought the Dreame d20 pro plus and would absolutely recommend for best vacuum. I never attached the mop
We got a "Dreame D20 Pro Plus" a few months ago and it's great! [https://dreame.co.nz/products/dreame-d20-pro-plus](https://dreame.co.nz/products/dreame-d20-pro-plus) It works on carpet, rubs and even hard floors and can do mopping and vacuming.
Dreame D20 Pro Plus if good mopping is not required. It will vacuum just as well including edge as higher end models and you will save a lot of $ on upfront cost
Based on your needs, Sados 10r is an overkill except you are planned to move into larger place in the next months. For Roborock, if you don't mind washing and changing the mop pad before every mopping session, you can go with Q7 M5/L5/TF with + designation for auto empty station. The Q10 S5+/X5+ gives more features above Q7 like obstacle avoidance sensor, vibrating mop pad and lifting mop pad unlike passive mop like in Q7. If you need a bit more automation, you can spend a little more on QV35A/QV35S (different only in suction power 8000Pa vs 10000Pa), and Qrevo S (7000Pa but come with warm air mop drying unlike ambient temperature drying in QV35). The QV35 has other names in some regions called Qrevo L. For Dreame, you can go with their D9 Max Gen 2 (no auto-empty dock), D10 Plus Gen 2 (with auto-empty dock), D20 Pro Plus (upgraded from D10 with more features like obstacle avoidance, extendable side brush, dual roller main brush great for anti tangle, and 13000Pa suction). There's also D20 Plus with almost similar specs to D20 Pro Plus but without the extendable side brush for corner cleaning and obstacle avoidance sensor. If you need a bit automation, there is D20 Ultra (offered in certain regions), L10s Ultra, L10s Ultra Gen 2, and so on. There's also Mova (Dreame's cheaper sub-brand) with S10 (cousin to D9), E30 Ultra for a bit more automation but cheap (cousin to D20 Ultra), S20 Ultra, or P10 Pro Ultra. You could also try to check Xiaomi's robots if available in your place. Their customer service is mostly decent and their robot is designed by Dreame using Dreame's older design and sold at cheaper and competitive price than Roborock, Dreame, and Mova.
Dreame D20 Plus or the Pro Plus version if you need the obstacle avoidance feature and a mechanical extendable side brush.
If ur looking for primarily vacuuming and reliable time saving, cant really do better than the Mova E30 Pro Plus or Dreame D20 Pro Plus out of the current cohort. They have a 5L dustbag (vs the usual 3-4L on most) but can still use the popular 3.2L bag that mova/dreame use on their other bots as well if ur in a pinch. This will be the one to need the least frequent replacements with little maintenance.
