Don't pick the Q7 M5 because it doesn't have ANY obstacle avoidance, the Q10 S5 has obstacle avoidance but only for large objects not toys, no Roborock robot for 250€ will give you the obstacle avoidance system that you need. I would personally look at a Dreame robot with obstacle avoidance like the Dreame D10s Pro
# TLDR: Get the **L10s Pro** if it's within budget. If not, **D10 Plus** is the best bang for the buck **with a base**. Auto-empty is a game-changer in a dusty home. # Model Rundown: # ✅ L10s Pro * **Best cleaning performance** of the group (top-tier suction + obstacle avoidance) * **Does wet mopping well** with rotating pads * No base, but solid overall * **Best for large apartments** if you don’t mind emptying it manually # ✅ L10s (non-Pro) * Older, still solid * Has AI navigation and **comes with an auto-empty base** * Slightly weaker suction than Pro, less smart avoidance # ✅ D10s Pro * Decent suction and basic lidar nav * **No base** * Good for smaller or simpler homes — not ideal for large, dusty spaces unless you’re OK emptying it often # ✅ D10 Plus * Similar to D10s Pro but **comes with a base** * Very basic navigation (bumps into stuff sometimes), but **great value** for the price # Why the Base Matters (especially with dust): If your place gets dusty and you’re busy (or just hate emptying bins daily), the base makes life *so* much easier. You can go a couple of weeks without touching the robot. Totally worth it if that’s a pain point. # 🏆 Recommendation Based on Budget Priorities: * **Top pick overall**: L10s Pro (best clean + navigation, even without base) * **Best value with base**: D10 Plus * **All-around balance**: L10s (base + decent mopping) Let me know your price ceiling and I can tell you exactly what to grab and what to skip.
I'm on my 3rd generation device now, started with a Roomba, then Eufy, now a Dreambot - each is obviously better than the last, but i had attributed that mostly to it simply being a new product space and so advancements are regular and large. The roomba barely did any mapping, and the app was bare bones...seems like it's only made a tiny bit of progress in the last 9 years. Definitely spent more time babysitting/maintaining the Roomba than i saved by using it to vacuum lol, but i like tech so thats ok
We’ve been running a Dreame D10s for 2yrs now, it’s been excellent, haven’t had a single issue with it, navigation round a quite complex downstairs map is great and it is able to detect rugs / carpets and hard floors correctly. Consumables are readily available from aliexpress. I was slightly sceptical of buying a random Chinese brand but even if I died tomorrow I’d quite happily buy the new version of it.
We've got 3 - Alfred and Mr. Butlertron are self emptying Roombas and The Crushinator is a Dreame vacuum/mop. I love them all, they're valued members of the family 😆 They each man a floor of the house and run daily at different times based on when that floor is in use. To me it's all a trade off. Yes, I need to make sure the floor is clear and open/close doors as needed. But I also don't have to get on my hands and knees to vacuum under the bed or move the couch or actually do any of the real work myself. Our floors are always clear of junk (because we need to pick up daily) and I'm not brushing the bottoms of my feet off on my legs anymore. If you have pets - for the love of all that is holy, check the room before it runs and shut your pets out. We had two dog poop incidents and it was awful.
The Dream app is pretty good actually in my opinion. I just bought a D10 for $200 and I’m very satisfied.
Dreame D10. Does a real good job of mapping and being diligent about covering every square inch. Self emptying. If you take the time to set up the map, you can give it no-go zones, set up rooms and zones, etc. Pretty good. I will say, running it on the lowest (quietest) vacuum setting does not do a great job of picking up dog fur & dog dirt. You gotta step it up to the top 2 loudest settings to get good vacuuming. At that rate, the battery lasts about 1500 square feet. Also, when the base bag is only 3/4 full it stops self-emptying, which annoys me every time.
I have an old cheap Eufy and a newer Dreame D10. The old cheap Eufy is not smart, it just bounces around randomly and has a habit of getting stuck behind closet doors. And every 4 weeks I have to flip it and cut all my wife's hair off the roller. The Dreame is smart, so it has a map of the floor of the house and I mapped rooms and zones, and no-go zones. It has schedules , and a mop attachment I have yet to use. It is also self-emptying. I have dogs, so the challenge level is pretty high. I like having them both run every day, the remove a lot of dust, dander, and pet hair every single day. However, the mopping on the D10 is pointless, it just moistens the dirt. The vacuuming is very good, when set to maximum vacuum level it does a decent (but loud) job of getting stuff of the floor. Regardless, I still have to do an actual manual vacuum every week or two anyway to finish cleaning the floors. Still, I appreciate the fact that so much junk is removed without any effort on my part. Each of these units fills their bin every day, so I know they are removing a big pile of stuff.
