L40 Ultra is the best Dreame currently... The x40 is old gen tech new model... The L40 is the budget x50..... L40 trashes every other dreame I have and I have personally got everything fro the Dreame L10 original to the x40. I am super interested to see what happens when I put the L40 vs x50!! You made the right choice with the L40 currently! I smashes everything including ninja!
No good, I kept mine for about a week, before getting rid, the object avoidance is terrible, the base unit is unnecessarily massive, I went back to the L10s Ultra after 6-7 days. The cleaning was roughly the same as the L10, but it took a extra 15-20 mins.... Honestly L40 is currently the best and is half price on amazon. L20 is a total miss, but if you csnt get the L40, I would go with the original L10, not the v2, the v2 shreds cables.
L10 can clean 20m2 in 19 mins in real world use, L20 with more technical cleaning pushed that up to 29 mins, The L40 with the best cleaning and mop extras etc is 36 mins. The x40..... Same setup as the other 3.....47minutes and it doesn't to as good a job as the L10v2..... I'm just giving honest reviewing! I was very surprised the L40 smashed the x40!
https://valetudo.cloud/pages/general/supported-robots.html This is one of the best ways to get full local control of robot vacuums. I would keep to ones from this list. I have only ever owned one of these, the Dreame L10 Pro. Its pretty good for sweeping up dust and small stuff. I run it daily and its bin is nearly full after about a week or two. Its not great for mopping or picking up large items. I have fully tiled floors.
It depends on your needs… I wanted Valetudo and personally I like compact vacuum cleaners and I don’t need/like any mopping so my go to model is the Dreame L10 Pro
I had my Dreame L10 Pro brick itself on a firmware update well outside of warranty period. So i've gone the opposite to you and very recently (two days ago) picked up a refurbished X5 Pro Omni for a few hundred bucks. I liked my Dreame overall. it was pretty intentional with navigation and the front side obstacle avoidance was pretty great. I've found the ecovacs having it's lidar lower down as been better for my house as the dreame lidar tends to be above my skirting boards, which means it was sometimes confused about where the wall is in space - bumping in to it before getting itself lined up. It's fairly quiet as well. Having it brick itself has left a sour taste and hence my move to consider anyone but Dreame. The ecovacs app is similarly functional, maybe a bit better with the AI features. Bot overall it does seem a bit less mature. The app is not as polished. the mechanical sounds are a bit more course. It's general navigation is a bit relaxed in some cases, taking shortcuts around odd edges. In other instances it would put it's square side right into a corner or back the extended mop into a corner which is good. I'm happy with the ecovacs value, If I were going the other way, I imagine I would like the equivalent X8 Omni from Dreame as well. A bit expensive, but Dreame seems a little bit ore polished in every way - seems they know it and make you pay for it (In Australia at least)
That bad? I currently have a Dreame L10 Pro that is not much use for mopping but has great job obstacle avoidance and isn't bad for the price point but I now need solid mopping capability and improved suction and corner cleaning.
Seconded for the Dreame bots + Valetudo. I’ve got an L10 Pro that is adorable and 100% locally controlled.
Thank you! I eventually ordered a Dreame l10s Pro, but I have some doubts, particularly after seeing videos like this [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XebDiGqY5MM](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XebDiGqY5MM) It's also an Ultra version of Dreame so not entirely accurate for my case. But I think that suction power is more or less the same for l10s Pro and S8. Not sure if it's accurate. Actually Roborock S8 and even S8 Pro would have comparable price in Armenia, and I could stretch a little bit and order Q8 Max+. But I thought that rotating mops would be somewhat better in most situations. Also, I don't have carpets.
From my experience. Roborock Q8 very good for the price, S7 Maxv little better than S8, both great, Dreame L10S Pro as great. The newer more expensive stuff is even little better like X40 Ultra, but it has the docks.. Electrolux i9.2 had suprisingly good obstacle avoidance, could even avoid small cables, but god did that robot suck in anything else.
