I got a Dreametech a couple of weeks ago to help keep up with two GSDs and a toddler, and I have to say it has exceeded expectations! This is the one I got, and it was on a much better sale for Father’s Day. Prime Days are coming up soon so you should be able to score a pretty good deal on one then (whatever model you go with!) https://ca.dreametech.com/products/dreamebot-l10s-ultra?variant=45828562845953&country=CA¤cy=CAD&utm_medium=product_sync&utm_source=google&utm_content=sag_organic&utm_campaign=sag_organic&gad_source=5&gad_campaignid=22457582297&gclid=CjwKCAjwsZPDBhBWEiwADuO6y_kUZxe7XvPlf7crWvd5am4QdenkFk-UTxwRDmAhRnbxLUaKCZwmoBoC3ZYQAvD_BwE
Yup. Some people need a robot to clean dried mud from their dogs. Obviously a roller mop is better for larger and dried messes. But, I just want a robovac that's gonna sweep and lightly mop, every day, without breaking after a month or getting lost all the time! Extra points if it's fast, reasonably quiet, and the app doesn't make me want to smash my phone. And I don't want to spend $800 lol. Also, it kills me looking at reviews of utterly shitty vacuums that have both performed poorly and broken repeatedly, and seeing nothing but glowing praise... Ugh. (Btw, so far an eBay refurb L10S Ultra is doing great but time will tell)
My Dreame L10s ultra (slightly older model I guess) is *so much better* than my old non-lidar Roomba, or even my somewhat recent Eureka robovac (do not recommend). Rarely gets stuck, although obstacle avoidance isn't amazing (newer models are better). It's really "tenacious" when it's getting over an edge or threshold, too, like it "hits the gas" and tries several times. Overall, even somewhat cheap modern robovacs are surprisingly capable.
I wouldn’t touch either with a 30 foot pole tbh. Especially when for $330 I can get a [Dreame L10s](https://a.co/d/c16pxh5) which preforms substantially better and has a full featured base from a very reputable company. I would also suggest waiting until closer to Black Friday as deals are starting to show up. If it needs to be under $300 I would strongly suggest pushing you towards the [Roborock Q7 M5+](https://a.co/d/asFfiQa). Just like Dreame they’re a super reputable brand with a substantially better future outlook compared to either bObsweep (never heard of them) or iRobot (facing bankruptcy from years of refusing to innovate) Edit: [L10s review](https://youtu.be/k6VoDNIow48?si=N8efR571_iAEnyBs), [Q7 M5+ review](https://youtu.be/vJrQ91fYapU?si=He-nGzuXFCJ_-K4k) Since you’ve never bought a robot vacuum before, there are a few key things to know. LIDAR navigation and a full-featured base are essential for a true hands-free cleaning experience. I don’t fully trust those brands. Roborock and Dreame, on the other hand, are reputable, reliable, and have good/great customer support, Roborock especially in my personal experience. For a first-time buyer, the $300–$400 range is the sweet spot; it’s a solid entry point with quality performance and a 30-day Amazon return window if it’s not for you. In general, with robot vacuums, you get what you pay for. Higher -end models perform far better.
The reactive tech in a lot of Roborock's budget models is usually awful, since it lacks an RGB camera. The Qrevo series, which has a similar obstacle avoidance system, consistently scored around 3/10 in our testing between 3 models. The cheapest vacuum with great obstacle avoidance among the ones I've tested is the Dreame L10s Ultra (8.2/10). I see it on Amazon Australia for $599. It's a fully featured flagship from 2022, so the dock has auto empty and mop washing. I wouldn't be able to confirm which one is better in terms of pickup performance, as I have not tested the Q10V+. The L10s Ultra does well on hard floor, but it can struggle on carpet. If you have carpet, I'd recommend getting the tricut brush from Dreame to help agitate the debris out. Dreame sells it for $199Au, but here in Canada it's like 70$ regular price (and our dollar is weaker), so I would only get it as a last resort or on sale. Hope this helps!
I was the tester that did our review of the Eufy S1 Pro, and while it didn't do the best on carpet, it'll still get the job done if you only have hard floors. I know the amount of choice and difference in reviewer's opinions/results can be overwhelming, but it doesn't have to be a super stressful decision. The reality is that robot vacuums are really just meant for day to day maintenance, which a lot of them are good at. When I recommend to friends and family, I usually try and find the best deal at the time of them asking, while avoiding a few specific robots. My most recommended robot to people I know is the Dreame L10s Ultra, just because there's always flash sales where's it at a ridiculously low price that it's a no-brainer, even though it's not our best scoring. Our tests are designed to push robots to their limits with a large amount of debris in a small space. For performance, I'd look more into what debris types the robot struggles with and if that applies to you. For example, the Dreame X50 struggled with finer debris, and I've seen a few people complain about that on this subreddit. If you want, you can let me know your specific needs outside of obstacle avoidance (floor types, ideal budget, app features, etc) and I can find a robot vacuum that I think would be best suited for you! No pressure tho, and my recommendation will not be dependent on you going to our website and clicking an affiliate link. Hope this helps!
I've tested all three of these, and I would either go with the Qrevo S or the L10s Ultra. I had a lot of issues with pickup, navigation, and the app for the X10 pro omni, and it's not a model I would recommend. Here's a breakdown of the two models I would suggest: https://preview.redd.it/hmw7skr7dekf1.png?width=1803&format=png&auto=webp&s=4a3f18d2c5238ae78e210387dc1bfc8643385b17 I would go with the L10s Ultra if you need obstacle avoidance, as it's significantly better than Qrevo S. The Qrevo S does slightly better on hard floor and low-pile, and has better battery life and is quieter. If you get the L10s Ultra from Dreame's website you can also get it for 419$, or 377$ if you sign up for their mailing list. There's also a deal on the L10s Pro Ultra Heat, which is the same robot but with a dock that has hot water mop washing, and comes with an accessory kit for free (499$ or 459$ if you sign up for the mailing list). The Dreame is the better value overall, depending on how much you found the Qrevo S for. Also for transparency, if you go to our website for more info there will be affiliate links, so if you want to avoid those then you can ask me follow-up questions here, and I'll provide you more info. Hope this helps!
If you have any questions about our reviews of either the Dreame x50 Ultra or the Roborock S8 MaxV or want a recommendation from me based on your needs, let me know! One thing I would say about our reviews, and any reviews for that matter, is that it doesn't have to be that overwhelming of a choice. We push robots to the limit, and while we do see variability in performance, you likely won't (unless it's an awful robot). Robots are mostly intended for day to day maintenance, and either of those models will get the job done. I haven't tested the Dreame L40s Ultra, but I assume it would too which is why price is a big factor in what I recommend to people. Outside of work, I usually recommend the Dreame L10s Ultra with a Tri-cut brush to my friends and family because it's cheap, and it's currently one of the best value robots in terms of features and performance. (It lacks newer features like extending side brush and mops tho) Hope this helps!
I've only tested the L10s Ultra, but it's a good beginner vacuum if you just have hard floors and don't have heavy debris accumulation. It also has great obstacle avoidance and decent mopping. You can upgrade it with the Tri-cut brush, which should help on carpet a bit more. Its battery is not the best, so if you have a larger home, expect to have to recharge and resume. I haven't tested the Mova S20, but theoretically it should be better on carpet since it has dual rollers, especially with pet hair, so if you have a lot of carpet and pets then I'd suggest that.
Thanks for the little shoutout. I really did not like testing the Narwal Freo X, the app had so many bugs and was very frustrating to test. In OPs case, the thing I would recommend the most is an air purifier coupled with a robot vacuum. Like you mentioned, their seals are really not that great and they generally just shoot back up. I wasn't able to test the Freo X's seal because of app limitations, but even if it has a HEPA filter, I don't think it's worth it due to its poor pickup performance on carpet and awful obstacle avoidance. I'd either suggest the L10s ultra if obstacle avoidance is a priority and the Qrevo if pickup performance is the priority. The tri-cut brush is also a good plus for the L10s. I also have ADHD, so I get it. My robovac has poor obstacle avoidance, so I leverage no-go zones and do a quick 5-minute tidy for loose socks and cables beforehand. I know it's easier said than done, but the payoff is that I save like an hour or two of vacuuming and mopping. I'd also say in my experience that the Roborock and Dreame apps are way less frustrating than the Narwal app was at the time I tested it. I know how easy it can be to give up on something with ADHD if it doesn't work out right away, so knowing you have reliable software beforehand is also a plus.
I couldn't get it to work in our airflow/smoke test rig, unfortunately. The unit doesn't start vacuuming unless it's wandered around a bit. This is a limitation we keep experiencing with multiple robots, unfortunately, so it's on our radar to potentially update the test. Right now we kind of rely on the remote control feature or that robots will just start even if they can't move. I can't really comment on other reviewers, but in our case we do push robots to their limits with our debris tests. Also, we have a small testing area which some robots struggle with and might be detrimental to their actual pickup results. It's something that's also potentially on our radar to fix in the future. I appreciate the support! :)
Hey all! I'd like to formally introduce myself. My name is Justin, and I'm a Robot Vacuum tester at RTINGS. I've tested 30+ robot vacuums since my career started here, and have learned so much from research, testing, and this Subreddit specifically. Some of you might have seen me on here making some personal recommendations in some of the posts in this Subreddit, but Prime Day is a great time to provide some insight on making a decision, since the market is currently overwhelming. **These recommendations are based on products we've bought and tested ourselves**, since we do not accept review or sample units from manufacturers. **I also wanted to disclose that we do make money from affiliate links and ads on our website**, so I will not be providing any links to our reviews. **First step** is to not panic. Figure out the needs of your space, your expectations, and your budget. Write them down and try to narrow it down to maximum 2-3 options. **General expectations** for all robots based on what I've seen and my personal opinion/experience: * **They will not replace your regular vacuum and mop for deep cleaning**, but they will extend the time between your deep cleanings. * **Obstacle avoidance is not that big of a deal if you don't have kids or pets.** Tidy up loose objects on the floor, tuck away cables, and set no-go zones, and you'll usually be good to go. * **You likely don't need to run it everywhere, every day.** Consider your needs and strategize. Use manual configurations, schedules, and spot cleanings over the built-in AI systems to tailor it to your needs. * **They usually always get hair stuck somewhere, especially long hair.** I have yet to meet a robot that has not gotten hair stuck with our standard 2.5g of long hair. That being said, some are better at it than others. * **The maintenance for the mops/water tanks is very frequent**, but saves more time overall. The general maintenance is usually quick overall, though. * **Recurring costs are generally higher and more frequent than regular vacuums.** You can try third party options for brush rollers, but we usually don't test that. * **Even premium models usually have seal problems** **and do not filter as well as standard vacuums with better HEPA/S-Class Filters.** If you have allergies, most of the robots will shoot allergens back up into the air. Consider an air purifier if you really want one. (The Levoit Vital 200s is great and on sale too) * **Advertised suction is usually not helpful or representative of pickup performance**. The Roborock S7 Max V is a great example of a robot with low advertised suction (5100 Pa) that still remains competitive in hard floor pickup performance to this day. * **Be vigilant of defects, especially on new models.** Brands are pumping out models faster than we can think. In my opinions, there are bound to be quality issues. If you see something wrong, exchange it or go with an older model that has proven reliability. * **Sales will come back. Often. Black friday is right around the corner.** Don't impulse buy just cause of a big sales event. **Dreame L10s Ultra/Pro Ultra ($299 USD/$479 CAD - $399USD/$499CAD) - Best Introduction Robot for Small Spaces** with mostly hard floor. * Decent hard floor performance, fully featured dock, great obstacle avoidance, decent mopping, upgradeable for carpets with the Tri-Cut Brush. * Mid battery-life, cold water and cold air drying (pro version adds heat), have seen complaints of poor customer service from Dreame. Uncertain about long term reliability. * At this price, you really can't go wrong if you just want something to help with day to day cleaning. **Roborock Qrevo Series ($399 USD/$549 CAD)** \- **Best Budget for hard floors** * Great hard floor pickup and navigation. Mid-on carpets. Bad at removing pet hair from carpets. * Awful obstacle avoidance. Decent Mopping * Roborock seems to have a better reputation for reliability. (Based on comments in this Subreddit) **Roborock S8 Max V ($1099USD/$1199CAD)** \- **Best For Carpet and Pet Hair** * Good all around pickup, excels on carpet thanks to its dual rollers. Corner coverage. * Expect hair tangles in the edges of the brush rollers. * Mid mopping performance, so you might have to manually clean hard stains. * Decent Obstacle avoidance, but not the best. * Older flagship. **Ecovacs Deebot X8 Pro Omni** (**$799 USD/ $1199CAD) - Best Mopping** (Not published yet on our website, but we've tested it) * Great hard floor pickup, decent carpet pickup. Okay, at removing pet hair from carpets. * Okay obstacle avoidance on hard floor, bad on carpet. * Excellent mopping. * Unsure of Ecovacs reliability and app experience, as I've seen complaints on this Subreddit before. * Currently borrowing this model, and I'm really impressed with it. I have not experienced any dock leaking, but this is something that I've seen brought up for other roller mop models. **Roborock Saros 10R ($1199USD) - Best overall for most people** * Excellent hard floor cleaning. Decent carpet cleaning. Struggles with pet hair on carpet. Good for mopping. * Excellent hard floor obstacle avoidance, bad carpet obstacle avoidance. * Excellent maneuverability. Slim body allows it to get underneath furniture as low as 3.1" (8 cm). Can also climb thresholds up to 1.5" (3.8cm) in our tests. * Not available in Canada. **Popular Models I'd avoid, but doesn't mean they wouldn't be the best option for you:** * **Dreame X50 Ultra:** It's dual rollers struggle with hard floor pickup more than the dual rollers on the S8 Max V. I also borrowed it for a month to test it in my home, and it would leave clumps of debris everywhere, especially near thresholds. This is based on our testing and my subjective opinion, but it was a miss for me. * **Dreame L40 Ultra:** Controversial, I know, but I was also underwhelmed with its hard floor pickup performance, especially with finer debris. It's decent for carpet, though, and might perform better with the Tri-cut brush. It also scored worse in obstacle avoidance than the Dreame L10s Ultra, which is bizarre since it released 2 years after it. This is another model I borrowed, and was not satisfied with it's cleaning performance in my mostly hard floor apartment. * **Eufy x10 Pro Omni:** It was one of the vacuums I had the most trouble testing due to navigation issues and app issues. Its pickup performance was also pretty poor on carpet, and just okay on hard floor. * **Dyson VisNav 360:** Great potential, but flawed execution and use of old tech make it a bad purchase in my opinion. This thing packed a punch and was excellent at picking up stuff it went over, but the problem was it would frequently miss areas and get lost/confused. * **Shark robot vacuums:** Some of them are good for pickup, but their built quality, navigation issues, and bare-bones app makes question their value. Honorable mentions: * **MOVA P10 Pro:** Best obstacle avoidance in our test out of every single model. Good hard floor pickup, mid carpet pickup, okay mopping. Comments in this Subreddit have mentioned MOVA's manufacturing quality and customer service are question. We had to return our first unit because the dock was non-functional, but the second unit works well. Let me know if you have any questions about my recommendations, and hope this helps out! Edit: I will only be responding while I'm at work, so expect a delay of 24hr for a response. Also added 2 expectations.
The Dreame L10s Ultra is a safe bet in that price range, the pro version adds heated water cleaning and hot air drying which can lower the risk of a smelly mop. You can also upgrade it with the Tri-Cut brush, which claims to cut hair. Thankfully, the rubber brush is fairly easy to clean and takes no more than 2-3 minutes. Edit: I forgot to mention that it's a bit loud. Newer models have better sound management, if sound level is a concern, go with the Qrevo Series.
I'd say maybe look into the Qrevo Slim. I haven't tested it, but the dual rollers will be really helpful with pet hair on rugs, and it should perform similarly to the S8 Max V. For something cheaper, maybe the Mova P10 Pro or the Dreame L10s, and upgrade it with the tri-cut brush. (Keeping in mind that MOVA has had some quality complaints.)
Dreame (base model L10s ultra, also mops), yes, can recommend it. Over a year in service.
In 2026, the L10s Ultra Gen 1 is still usable, but only if the price is very good. It’s not outdated in a “can’t clean” way, but it’s two generations behind in navigation and obstacle handling compared to L40 or newer platforms. For a small 65 m² apartment, it will absolutely vacuum and mop fine. The main tradeoff is weaker object avoidance and slightly older dock logic. If you can get it significantly cheaper than L40 CE, it can make sense. If the price gap is small, I’d go L40 CE instead for the newer platform and longer firmware runway.
At 400€ in India, the L10s Ultra Gen 1 is a fair buy. I would not wait for Gen 3 at \~800€ unless you really care about top tier obstacle avoidance and newer dock refinements. For a normal apartment, you won’t get double the cleaning performance for double the price.
If deep carpet is your main pain point, swapping the P10 Pro for the LS Ultra AE isn’t really going to fix it. A few things that actually *would* help in your situation: • **Keep the P10 Pro for hard floors** — it’s great for the daily mop + general clean. • **Use a dedicated carpet killer for the rugs/rooms that need serious lift.** Honestly the Dyson VisNav 360 is the closest thing to a “robot upright” right now. Roborock’s older S8 MaxV Ultra also does better on carpet than the new anti-tangle rollers everyone uses. • **Running Max across the entire floor will crush the battery on** ***any*** **brand.** Even the LS Ultra AE will need mid-run charging if you push suction that hard over a big area. Given you’ve got teens, pets, and high-traffic carpet, the best setup is exactly what you already hinted at — one robot dedicated to carpet, one robot for the rest. That gives you speed, better cleaning, and no overnight noise. If you want one single Dreame unit that’s *better* than the P10 Pro on carpet, the LS Ultra AE is the right upgrade — just don’t expect it to magically keep deep carpet clean on one pass at Standard mode. You’d still be running high suction in those rooms. If it were my house: **P10 Pro Ultra for floors + Dyson VisNav 360 for the carpet.** Perfect coverage, zero compromises.
Great post — and totally agree on the mouthful names 😅 Since they’re similarly priced where you are, I’d lean Dreame L10s Ultra for the best balance: strong obstacle avoidance, decent mopping with detergent support, and solid app features. Qrevo S has great hardware but weaker AI. T20 Omni is decent, but Ecovacs tends to struggle more with software and mapping quirks. And yes — if your floors are mostly tile with one carpet, a robot vac *is* worth it, especially for daily maintenance.
# TLDR: Get the **L10s Pro** if it's within budget. If not, **D10 Plus** is the best bang for the buck **with a base**. Auto-empty is a game-changer in a dusty home. # Model Rundown: # ✅ L10s Pro * **Best cleaning performance** of the group (top-tier suction + obstacle avoidance) * **Does wet mopping well** with rotating pads * No base, but solid overall * **Best for large apartments** if you don’t mind emptying it manually # ✅ L10s (non-Pro) * Older, still solid * Has AI navigation and **comes with an auto-empty base** * Slightly weaker suction than Pro, less smart avoidance # ✅ D10s Pro * Decent suction and basic lidar nav * **No base** * Good for smaller or simpler homes — not ideal for large, dusty spaces unless you’re OK emptying it often # ✅ D10 Plus * Similar to D10s Pro but **comes with a base** * Very basic navigation (bumps into stuff sometimes), but **great value** for the price # Why the Base Matters (especially with dust): If your place gets dusty and you’re busy (or just hate emptying bins daily), the base makes life *so* much easier. You can go a couple of weeks without touching the robot. Totally worth it if that’s a pain point. # 🏆 Recommendation Based on Budget Priorities: * **Top pick overall**: L10s Pro (best clean + navigation, even without base) * **Best value with base**: D10 Plus * **All-around balance**: L10s (base + decent mopping) Let me know your price ceiling and I can tell you exactly what to grab and what to skip.
You're absolutely right on the key difference. • **L10s Ultra Gen 2**: No RGB camera at all — it uses an infrared sensor strictly for structured light mapping. It **can’t take or upload photos**, period. Everything it “sees” is processed locally to build a map. • **L10s Pro Ultra Heat**: Has an RGB camera, but it defaults to **on-device processing only**. No video/photo data is sent unless you manually opt into the cloud features (like remote monitoring or video call). If privacy is your main concern, the **Gen 2 is the safer pick** out of the box — nothing to disable or change.
The [**L40 Ultra**](https://tin.al/L40Ultra) is probably the best option you can get right now in that price range — especially with the current **$1,000 off** deal. It’s basically a slightly stripped-down version of the X40/X50 Ultra but still includes: * Self-empty + self-wash station * Hot air mop drying * Solid suction + pet hair pickup * Smart mapping and avoidance * Great app control For pets, the DuoScrub mopping system and auto-cleaning rollers make a huge difference — especially with long hair. On LVP floors, it’ll handle daily hair + dirt cleanup without leaving wet streaks. You could do **one L40 Ultra per floor** and be set for years.
Here’s what you gain if you step up from the **L40 Ultra** to the [**X40 Ultra**](https://tin.al/DreameX40Ultra)**/**[**X50 Ultra**](https://tin.al/X50Ultra): **Smarter Obstacle Avoidance** X40/X50 use **AI visual recognition + 3D ToF sensors**, so they’re a bit better at dodging cords, shoes, pet bowls, etc. The L40 still does well, but the X-series is more confident in cluttered homes. **Live Camera Patrol (X40/X50 only)** Want to check in on pets, talk to them, or patrol your house while away? The **X40 and X50 have a built-in RGB camera with remote driving and two-way audio**. Great for pet parents! **Slightly Better Self-Cleaning** The **X-series has DuoScrub 2.0**, which means deeper base station cleaning and faster mop drying. The difference is subtle, but helpful in heavy-use homes. **More App Features (and early updates)** The higher-end models tend to get **more app features first** (like advanced detergent tracking, CleanGenius tweaks, etc.). 💡 **Bottom line**: * If you want **the best smart features and patrol mode**, go with the **X40** or **X50**. * If you're focused on **pet hair + mopping performance** and want **max value**, the **L40 Ultra at less than $500** is unbeatable right now: [**L40 Ultra**](https://tin.al/L40Ultra)
Here’s a quick breakdown of the **Dreame L40 Ultra** vs **Dreame GoVac 400 (Costco model)**: # Smart Features & Navigation * **L40 Ultra**: Full LiDAR + obstacle avoidance + AI mapping + smart room targeting. App lets you fine-tune every setting. * **GoVac 400**: Basic LiDAR, no obstacle avoidance. Limited app/custom control. # Cleaning Performance * **L40 Ultra**: Stronger suction (\~7,300Pa), DuoScrub mops with lift, self-cleaning brush roll, better for pet hair + heavy-duty cleaning. * **GoVac 400**: Good suction (\~5,000Pa), basic mop pads (no dual scrub), single brush roll, no mop lift = carpets may get damp. # Docking Station * **L40 Ultra**: Auto-empty, **self-washing** mop pads, **hot air drying**, and detergent injection. * **GoVac 400**: Auto-empty only. No mop wash/dry. You'll have to clean pads manually. # Pet Hair & Daily Use * **L40 Ultra**: Designed for pet homes — auto brush cleaning + advanced mopping helps with muddy paw prints and shedding. * **GoVac 400**: Gets the job done, but more maintenance and not as thorough for mixed surfaces. # Price/Value * **L40 Ultra**: Currently [**$1,000 off**](https://tin.al/L40Ultra) — wild value for what it offers. * **GoVac 400**: Usually [**$399 at Costco**](https://tin.al/CostcoGoVac) — good if you just want a reliable vac with auto-empty, but fewer bells and whistles. **TL;DR:** If you're on a tight budget and mainly want vacuuming, the GoVac 400 is solid. But for a true hands-off experience — especially with pets — the L40 Ultra is *way* more capable.
Great question — sounds like you're looking for a robot vac that doubles as a **pet cam + remote monitor** while still offering good cleaning and easy mop handling. Here’s the breakdown: **Pet camera + remote control** **Dreame X40 Ultra** and **X50 Ultra** both have a front-facing RGB camera with two-way audio (like a baby monitor). You can drive the robot remotely through the app, talk to pets, and even snap photos or video. The **Samsung Jet Bot AI+** also has a camera, but Dreame's camera feels more real-time and pet-friendly — especially with *patrol mode* and map-based navigation. **Removable mop pads (auto-drop at dock)** Both **X40 Ultra** and **X50 Ultra** have auto-lifting and **auto-detaching** mop pads. After each run, the robot pops them off into a drying rack at the base. Super useful if you don’t want damp pads traveling around or sitting on flooring. **Pet-hair performance** Also worth noting: Dreame’s newer models (especially X50 and L40 Ultra) have **stronger suction and better brush design** for handling pet hair, including long-haired cats and dogs. **Bottom line**: If you want all three — **pet cam, remote patrol, auto mop removal** — your best bet is either the **X40 Ultra** or **X50 Ultra**. And if you’re shopping Prime Day: * The [**X50 Ultra**](https://tin.al/X50Ultra) is around **$500 off**, and * The [**L40 Ultra**](https://tin.al/L40Ultra) (no cam, but killer value) is **$1000 off right now**
**🆚 Dreame X40 Ultra vs L10s Ultra Gen 2** **Cleaning Power** Both are excellent, but the **X40 has stronger suction** and improved carpet edge cleaning. If you have pets or a lot of tracked-in dust, it shows. **Mopping System** X40 has **DuoScrub 2.0** (heavier pressure, better corner coverage) and **hot mop pad washing** at 60°C. L10s Gen2 has regular pad washing at room temp. **Does hot mop wash matter?** If you have sticky spots, messy kitchens, or pets: YES. It helps break down residue and keeps the pads from getting musty between washes. **Avoidance & Mapping** X40 is slightly faster and smarter in cluttered areas — better camera/AI setup. Both avoid poop, cables, shoes, etc., but the X40 feels smoother. **Build & Dock** L10s Gen2’s dock is great, but the **X40’s has a more advanced self-cleaning design**, and it dries mop pads more thoroughly. **Verdict** If your floors are mostly hard surfaces and not too messy, the L10s Gen2 is still a fantastic buy. But if you want **the best mopping system**, deeper cleaning, and more automation — the **X40 is worth the upgrade**, especially while it’s heavily discounted: 👉 [X40 Ultra Prime Deal](https://tin.al/DreameX40Ultra) 👉 [L10s Gen2 Prime Deal](https://tin.al/L10sUltraGen2)
That’s actually a great question — especially at those prices. **Quick breakdown:** # 🔥 L10s Pro Ultra Heat (2024 refresh) * 7000 Pa suction (vs 5300 in older L10s Ultra) * Hot mop washing + AI obstacle avoidance * Mop lift: ✅ * Dock: More compact than L20, solid reliability Great choice if you want high-end cleaning without the L20’s bulk or complexity. # L20 Ultra (Flagship) * Same 7000 Pa suction * Adds *extendable side mop* — cleans along baseboards better * More aggressive AI pathing, extra edge sensors * Heavier dock, more premium touches (metallic finish, etc.) Worth it if: * You want max edge cleaning * You don’t mind the larger footprint # So which wins at $799 AUD? If you **don’t care about the extendable mop** or **have tighter storage space**, go for the **L10s Pro Ultra Heat** — newer tech, easier fit, still elite. If you **want the most edge-to-edge coverage possible** and love a flagship feel, L20 Ultra might be worth the extra size. Let me know your floor plan or setup — I can narrow it further!
Nice! The L20 Ultra is still a beast — especially for long layouts with lots of edge zones. As for “newer tech” on the **L10s Pro Ultra Heat**, here’s what I meant: * **Hot water mop washing** was added in the Pro Ultra Heat version — L20 Ultra doesn’t have that (it uses cool/warm water only). * It also has a slightly newer **AI chip and mapping algorithms**, which seem to improve object avoidance and recognition (especially small clutter or cords). * Plus a **refined compact dock** — not a tech feature per se, but it’s a noticeable upgrade in terms of space efficiency and noise. That said, the L20 is still the flagship for a reason — the extendable mop arm and edge sensors give it the best perimeter cleaning on the market. And it wins on raw features like auto detergent, built-in clean water tank, and premium hardware. Let me know how it performs once it’s up and running — would love to hear how it handles your space!
Ah, you’re absolutely right — the **L10s Pro Ultra Heat** ***does*** **have MopExtend!** That was my bad for not flagging that earlier 🙈 It’s great to see Dreame bringing that flagship-level feature to more models — definitely helps bridge the gap between the L10s Pro and L20 Ultra. Super interesting note about your D10 Plus and mapping range. The L20 *should* handle longer layouts much better thanks to the upgraded LiDAR + AI combo. Its mapping range is significantly wider, and the enhanced processor helps it stitch together complex floor plans more reliably. Definitely report back once it finishes its first map — I’m curious to see if it handles your home edge-to-edge without the “middle dock” workaround. And props to your D10 for hitting 60,000 minutes… that’s legendary.
This is one of the most common questions we see, and you are completely right to feel overwhelmed. The robot vacuum market has exploded over the last two years, and manufacturers have flooded the shelves with confusing names (Max, Pro, Ultra, Plus) that mean absolutely nothing. To cut through the noise, here is the ultimate cheat sheet for buying a mid-tier robot vacuum/mop in 2026 (usually the £400–£700 range in the UK), including exactly what to look for, what to avoid, and the three models that actually matter. 🚩 Features to AVOID at all costs: The "Flat Dragging" Mop: If you look underneath the robot and see a single, flat, half-moon-shaped piece of cloth, run away. These do not "mop." They just drag a wet rag across your floor and smear dirt around. "Self-Emptying" Docks that ONLY empty dust: A lot of mid-tier models will empty the dustbin, but you still have to manually fill the water tank and physically remove/wash the dirty mop pads in your sink every day. It defeats the purpose of automation. ✅ Features to LOOK FOR (The 2026 Mid-Tier Baseline): Dual Spinning Mop Pads: You want two circular pads that actively scrub the floor at high RPMs. Auto-Lifting Mops: If you have any rugs, the robot must have this feature. It physically lifts the wet mops 10mm into the air when it detects a rug so it doesn't soak your carpets. An "Omni" or "Ultra" Base Station: The base station shouldn't just empty the dust. It needs to automatically wash the dirty mop pads, refill the robot's water tank, and blow hot air on the pads to dry them so they don't smell like damp dog. 🏆 The 3 Brands/Models That Actually Matter Right Now: If you stick to these three, you will not buy a lemon: 1. Roborock Qrevo (or Qrevo S / MaxV) * Why it sticks out: Roborock is the Apple of robot vacuums. The Qrevo line is their mid-tier offering, but it acts like a premium £1,000+ machine. It has dual spinning mops, lifts over rugs, and has a fantastic self-washing base station. Most importantly, Roborock’s app is bulletproof and their mapping is the best in the industry. Best for: People who want an app that "just works" and excellent all-around reliability. 2. Dreame L10s Ultra (or L10 Prime) Why it sticks out: Dreame is Roborock’s biggest rival, and they are famous for offering slightly better hardware for slightly less money. The L10s Ultra uses an RGB camera for obstacle avoidance (great for dodging shoes and cables) and has brilliant mopping capabilities. Best for: People who have mostly hard floors and want the absolute best mopping performance for the price. 3. Eufy X10 Pro Omni Why it sticks out: Eufy completely disrupted the mid-tier market with this model. It has 8,000Pa of suction, a fantastic self-washing base station, and some of the best AI obstacle avoidance on the market (it is incredibly good at not eating phone chargers or pet waste). Best for: Very messy houses, families with kids who leave toys everywhere, and pet owners. The Verdict: Don't get paralyzed by the options in the shop. If you want the most polished software, buy the Roborock Qrevo. If your house is an obstacle course of cables and toys, buy the Eufy X10 Pro Omni. Hope this helps narrow down the headache!
Currently upgraded to the Dreame mopping vacuum system robot that's operated with the phone. We love it.
The Dreame robot mop system is our favorite new roommate! We have a new and an older iRobot Roomba vacuums and recently got this one for the main floor. We're very happy with it. It's available in many different price ranges.
