I’ve got a Dreame x40, and my sister in law has a Dreame l30. We’re both super happy with them.
Thank you for this. After this endorsement I’ve finally placed an order. Was meaning to go ahead with L10S Ultra, but then some hidden charges made it slightly more expensive and I went with a discounted Dreame L30 Ultra S for a little bit more than the L10. Judging by the Dreame product page it is identical to the L10S Ultra other than having 13kPa. Fingers crossed it works well for me too. Thank you All.
In Australia, only the L30 Ultra S, the L40S Ultra/Pro Ultra and the X50 Ultra are the new available models. There’s no L50 yet.
If you have pets or long hair, want a robot that cleans itself better, and have greasy kitchen floors, the L40S Ultra will be a better choice. The L30 Ultra S is a good choice for more carpeted floors since you can use the rubber brush.
The S9 should vacuum better than the Narwal Freo Z Ultra. NarWal’s main strength is in mopping so it seems they’ve made tradeoffs where their mopping is market leading but their vacuuming isn’t compared to other flagships. For dreame/MOVA’s obstacle avoidance, I’ll say they’ve been pretty good since the X/L30 Ultra.
1. Anything that moves can break. So I suggest buying from a retailer with a good return policy + a good protection plan. 2. For base station cleaning: Dreame (some models), eufy, Narwal, roborock, and Xiaomi have completely removable mop washboards. I’m not a fan of the wiper driven mop washboards on the Dreame X/L30 and X/L40 ultra and the MOVA P10 Ultra/Pro Ultra simply because there’s too many nook and crannies to clean. However their new aceclean dryboard on the L/V/X50 Ultra and newer is much easier to clean even when only the filter is removable since there’s no nooks and crannies for dirt to hide in and dirt only really collects under the removable filter which is easily removed with a wet wipe or a Clorox wipe. I’d avoid bagless base stations. Spinning mop combo robots are less maintenance than roller mop robots.
I highly recommend combo robots if your parents walk around the house barefoot, it greatly improves the feel! The combo robots I found best for keeping itself clean are the dreame and MOVA robots with the filter self cleaning function and the flat washboard. I was able to get away with making my MOVA V50 run everyday for 3 months without a noticeable change in cleanliness. After that it’ll be and the roborock Curv 2 Pro and the Narwal spinning mop robots which generally consume more water than the other options. The app is going to be a challenge for them but you can set it up for them and put it on a schedule so they won’t have to open the app at all.
Thanks for sharing! I hypothesize that the X50 Ultra's poor battery life is likely due to the more power-hungry computer chip it utilizes. My own experience with the L40s Pro Ultra (mainland Chinese version) had a *worse battery life* that struggled to finish cleaning my home whereas my much cheaper combo Xiaomi robot (also mainland Chinese version) that has the same battery capacity and is also made by Dreame would be able to vacuum first and then mop my small apartment and finish with 50%. Other reviewers have reported that the L40s Pro Ultra (non-mainland Chinese edition) had a bad battery life, just like me :( Hopefully, this issue will be fixed soon. I hope the Dreame Aqua 10 Pro Track doesn't suffer the same battery life issue, especially because it'll need a more powerful chip to process all the information coming from the HD binocular RGB cameras and the dot projector, and a power-efficient water heater in the robot to heat the water up.
No problem. No, the L30 isn't very outdated/crap compared to the L40, but it has much less suction power. The eufy X10 Pro Omni has reduced suction power and is much worse than the eufy Omni E25 while not being much cheaper. That's probably the reason why some people say to stay away from it. Between those last 3, I'd buy the Dreame X40 Ultra. :)
Dreame L30 Ultra S fills and empties dust bag and water to mop, heats water, adds detergent and cleans and dries mop pads after
Haven't bought this in India - but I use a Dreame L30S Ultra. I live in a double story, with 1000 sq ft ground level. It takes around 1.5 hours to do a combined vac & mop or about 2.5 to first vac and then mop the ground level. White it avoids obstacles, you can't have tiny things or cables on the floor - they get stuck and require manual intervention. Cleaning is pretty good though here's a before and after post some renovation work - plaster dust. https://preview.redd.it/bw710p4dgo7g1.jpeg?width=4284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f33e94b502ffc23c05608ca195441264a240c371
If you’ve got a smaller 2-bed unit with mostly hard floors, the **L30 Ultra S is more than enough** — same core cleaning tech, and still supports auto-empty and mop washing. You’ll just miss out on some of the extra automation and FlexiArm coverage. ✅ Go L40S Ultra **if**: * You’ve got pets or long hair (dual brushes help a ton) * You want the best self-cleaning + dock functions * You care about that extra edge mopping with FlexiArm Otherwise, save the $250 AUD — L30 Ultra S will still crush daily cleaning.
I can't say that object avoidance has been an issue for me. If anything else, the Deebot T50 Pro Omni was so object averse that it might as well didn't leave the dock at all. The Dreame L30 Ultra S was probably a balance between power and navigation, though the build quality was not as good as the S7 Max Ultra.
