Reliable, great mopping (lifts pads), but poor cable avoidance.

Running these analyses costs money. Buy through my links to help keep lights on! I may get a small commission.
The l40 ultra ae will be the only one that will avoid obstacles well as itās the only one with an RGB camera and a flashlight for obstacle avoidance.
I just lost the draft of the comment I was writing on here TvT The brands best at obstacle avoidance are dreame eufy and Narwal. Recommendations come from cheapest to highest Narwal Freo Z ultra at ā¬549 Best for smoothest obstacle avoidance, great at preventing hair and fur tangles, best smart cleaning mode, easy to clean, and great mopping Not so Great at: vacuuming (compared to other robots), water tanks need to be refilled frequently so it is better suited for smaller homes Why so cheap? It already has a successor and the new flagship the Narwal Flow is going to be released. No eufy models that are close to obstacle avoidance at this price range so no eufy recommendation. Dreame L40 Ultra AE ā¬671 Good at: obstacle avoidance (firmware updates help) but not as smooth since it only has one eye instead of two like Narwal do it needs to go backwards to gauge the distance to something, more rounded vacuuming (better than the Narwal) and mopping performance. Not so good at: not many like the smart cleaning mode, not as easy to clean as youād need to get down to maintain it. Slightly pared down L40 Ultra
The problem with generative AI, even with the research function, is that the information is woefully outdated and often hallucinates things that don't exist. You want these features: >Good object avoidance (chairs, socks, cables, etc.) But the models the generative AI seems to have found for you will not do well in avoiding cables and socks. This is because they all only use structured light sensors, which are not well-suited for this. Only robots with an RGB camera, an LED fill light, and good obstacle avoidance software. If you tidy those up, then the MOVA P50 Ultra at 549 euros ( [https://de.mova.tech/products/mova-p50-ultra-robot-vacuum](https://de.mova.tech/products/mova-p50-ultra-robot-vacuum) ) is a good choice. Actual obstacle avoidance comes with a higher price tag in more expensive models like the Dreame L40 Ultra AE at 609 euros (German Dreame website). >**Goal**:Ā **Maximum automation**Ā ā no daily involvement (vacuuming, mopping, cleaning the mop, drying, edge cleaning) Robot at this price range will need more attention than those with better self cleaning features, such as tapping the dust out of the filter out once every few cleaning runs (recommended to do once after every cleaning run when first using it) rinsing the dustbin and filter and wiping the robot clean once every two weeks or so, refilling and emptying the dirty water tanks, cleaning the mop washboard as needed. The Dreame L40 Ultra AE at 609 euros will have some sort of mop washboard self-cleaning, but it is rather annoying to clean with too many nooks and crannies for my liking, and the wipers like to drag hair around the washboard. If you tidy the cables and socks up, the MOVA P50 Ultra will have the best self-cleaning mop washboard since there are barely any nooks and crannies, and you can get the robot to clean its own washboard by pressing a button in the app. You'd still need to tap the dust out of the filter after every few cleaning runs, occasionally wipe the washboard down and the area under the filter, and rinse the palm-sized removable filter, which stops hair and large debris from entering. If you want the robot to clean its filter when auto-emptying, the Dreame L40s Pro Ultra is the cheapest model I've found that can do this. But it's at 769 ( [https://de.dreametech.com/products/dreame-l40s-pro-ultra-schwarz-saugroboter](https://de.dreametech.com/products/dreame-l40s-pro-ultra-schwarz-saugroboter) ) Maintenance tips: 1. Run the robot to vacuum first, then mop to mitigate difficult-to-clean mud buildup in the dustbin, filter, and brush compartment. It'll have less gross stuff in the brush compartment when you clean it. 2. The dirty water tank can stink, but the Dreame or Roborock dirty water deodorization module helps a lot in keeping the tank from smelling in between emptying. Do rinse and clean the dirty water tank with dish soap once every two weeks or so. Do rinse the deodorization modules and the dirty water tank when emptying the dirty water tank. Dreame one supposedly lasts longer, at 6 months, and the roborock lasts about 3 months. I also added a silver ion module to both clean and dirty water tanks to avoid any bacterial biofilm buildup. 3. If getting a model that can't clean its own filter, I put in cut-out pieces of air conditioner pre-filter sheets that fit just on the filter, which barely impede airflow for the vacuum. This will act as a robot prefilter and you won't need to tap the dust out of the filter as often and simply throw away the prefilter sheet and replace it with a new one.
Unless you need the threshold crossing, I'd stay with the L50 and the L40 AE for different floors. I do not like the black base stations in my home because it sticks out like a sore thumb whereas the white ones blend in much better.
The dreame L40 Ultra is going to be your best bang for buck robot. Itās also at 440 if you order from the dreame physical stores on the west coast which will deliver to those in the US mainland for free if you place an order via phone or email.
Thereās like three stores in the west coast and the discounts keep changing and supposedly rotates around the stores: Hereās one: https://www.reddit.com/r/Dreame_Tech/s/AWDKD5QeD8 Ask about the L40 Ultra. Also heard that mentioning Jamie Andrews sent you will give you extra freebies! https://www.reddit.com/r/Dreame_Tech/s/acILI9ITWu
The Dreame L40 Ultra should also be priced similarly and will be much better at detangling hair and dealing with fur, thanks to the antitangle TriCut brush (which I find to work well with my long-haired corgi). Unfortunately, its only selling at dreame's physical stores in the US (shipping for free in the US mainland) at 440 with a free antitangle Tricut brush and amazon is much more expensive at 599
MOVA P10 Pro Ultra and the Dreame L40 Ultra should be in this price range (use a price tracker) and greatly outperform other models in the same price range. I think one of them shipped with the anti-tangle tricut brush, which worked well with my long-haired corgi's fur. I'd so change the mop pads to the roborock saros one (cheap on aliexpress) as it's plusher and can remove muddy prints better. Not so much a fan of how the dustbin can clog in the middle with fur, but have empty space on the sides, and how the self-cleaning mop washboard loves to have fur in every nook and cranny. The MOVA P10 Pro Ultra does also seem to have a front wheel breaking issue in North America, which is weird since this issue isn't reported nearly as much with the near identical Dreame L40 Ultra.
Thanks for sharing! The L40 Ultra will be the most cost effective de facto flagship at 400ish which blows other robots at the same price out of the water.
The dreame L40 is a de facto flagship with much better obstacle avoidance mainly because of the better software and the fact it has an RGB camera. The edge and corner cleaning is also much better. The roborock S7 max ultra only has structured light so obstacle avoidance wonāt be as good.
I donāt think the MOVA p10 pro ultra is in Europe and I havenāt seen any sales for the L40 ultra in Europe yet.
I found the L40 Ultra for 699 at Dreameās Spanish website.
Thereās no best robot! But the best bang for buck in the US is going to be the dreame L40 ultra at 440usd at physical dreame stores which deliver in the us mainland for free to 499 or 599 on amazon. It cleans much better than a roomba combo.
Poop dodging? Sorry this feature wonāt be on both models youāve mentioned. Itās only in the 400-600 range that has actual ability to dodge poop. Iād check out the MOVA p10 pro ultra or the dreame l40 ultra which are currently the cheapest models with this capability and sometimes is sold with the antitangle TriCut brush which has worked well for my long haired corgi. I think thereās also the Narwal Freo Z ultra which was at a similar price range of 600 something.
Are you looking for only roborock? The roborock MaxV has no extending side brush for corner cleaning. Roborockās side and edge cleaning algorithm is also rather conservative and wonāt extend the side brush out to clean closer to edges if thereās like a toe kick or swing the extended mop(which dreame/MOVA does and Narwal does this too but with the mops only). > better mobility and avoiding obstacles Roborockās obstacle avoidance lags behind other robots, even at this price range. TvT Iād check out the dreame l40 ultra or the MOVA p10 pro ultra if cheaper than the MaxV. Turns out itās the p50 with the broken front wheel issue.
The dreame l40 ultra and the MOVA p10 pro ultra are popular combo robots at 500-600 usd (I havenāt found a combo that is in the same price range and delivers the same functions and performance as these two models). The main brush wonāt get tangled if you use the TriCut brush which worked well in my home with long hair and a long haired corgi.
Cost effective choice that deals well with fur: dreame l40 ultra and the MOVA p10 pro ultra work with an antitangle TriCut brush which has worked well in my experience with a long haired corgi. Price should be from 400-600 when on sale. Eufy e25/28 will also be a good choice at about 600-800. Do ask eufy customer support for a new dirty water tank to avoid it from leaking it on the floor. The s1 was ruled out as the e25/28 do better on rugs and carpets and the s1 (both non-pro and pro) lacks a good antitangle brush but the all rubber main brush is generally tangle resistant.
I wouldnāt recommend robot vacuums if you are solely concerned with allergy and asthma care as most robot vacuums are not fully sealed (the Dyson VisNav 360 has been verified by a third party lab to be fully sealed meeting HEPA standards but itās not really a great robot). Iād get an air purifier and get the robot vacuum to clean up fur and litter. Iād definitely go for the L40 ultra at this price since itāll have the most cost effective obstacle avoidance and should automatically increase suction and slows down when it sees litter. Just note itāll have to autoempty more frequently since the dustbin isnāt very well suited for lots of fur. As for care, youād need to tap the dust out of the filter once every few cleaning runs, clean the dirty water tank, refill and empty the clean and dirty water tanks. You can add robot safe cleaning solution to the clean water tank so it mops with detergent.
Good at obstacle avoidance, better suited at vacuuming but is a cost effective choice when under 600 usd
Iād prioritize a robot with antitangle rollers, decent mopping (usually starting at the 500 USD range), and an easy to clean robot. Really good midrange option: dreame l40 ultra or the MOVA p10 pro ultra at about 500. Theyāll deliver the best bang for buck performance. The x40 ultra should also be in this price range. It should come with an antitangle TriCut brush that works but generally makes it louder. The most expensive options have quieter antitangle rollers as they donāt cut the tangled hair but direct it to the dustbin with their tapered end. A bit more expensive but better mopping: the eufy e25 at 629 USD has antitangle brush rollers that work and a decent roller mop. do ask Eufyās customer support for their updates dirty water component as the one the first gen ones ship with have a leaking issue. I donāt see any other robot in this price range that mops better. Most expensive with the best mopping that doesnāt really come at the cost of vacuuming pet fur at 999: the MOVA Z60 Ultra SA has antitangle rollers and a good roller mop that can extend to clean closer to edges with antitangle combs on the roller mop to prevent tangling. Itās very similar to the MOVA Z60 Ultra Roller which is more expensive with the only difference being threshold crossing wheels but the mopping is the same. MOVA sent me their Z60 ultra roller to review as part of their Reddit collaboration program and I found it to mop really well with no tangles anywhere other than fur wrapped around the fluffing roller which you need to clean once every 30 working hours (the app reminds you).
The dreame l40 ultra and the MOVA p10 pro ultra frequently are at 475 usd, I would definitely wait for sales. These robots are going to be the most cost effective compared to other robots. They should come with an antitangle Tricut brush or a tangle resistant rubber roller.
Brands with good obstacle avoidance (assuming the models at least have an RGB camera): DJI, dreame, eufy, MOVA (a dreame subbrand), Narwal Weāre going to filter these brands by your requirements. Brands that have antitangle brushes: all the brand Iāve mentioned earlier have antitangle main brushes of some kind on at least one model. Brands that are generally good all rounders when it comes to vacuum and mopping: dreame, eufy (e25/e28 and hopefully the S2), and MOVA. Eufyās e25 is pretty good at its regular price. It uses the same principle as your curvās brushes to detangle hair and itās reported to work well. Youād also get solid eufy aftersales support. If you choose this model, ask eufy support to send the new water tank so it will not leak dirty water onto your floors. Dreame and MOVA have a lot of models and the antitangle technology differs between model so hereās what matters: Dreameās TriCut Brush/MOVAās EasyChop Brush Little blades are hidden in the brush roller which have combs just big enough for hair and fur to get into. When the brush spins it powers the blades to move like a razor and cuts off any hairs tangled in the combs. However, the models that use this single brush design are prone to ineffectively using the space in the dustbin, clogging the dustbin with fur in the middle while having empty space on the sides. Models with this brush: Literally any dreame or MOVA robot starting from the 10 series and newer that uses a single brush (the MOVA p20 ultra is an oddball exception). Iād recommend models that work with this brush as the most cost effective choice as models like the L40 ultra can be found at about 500-600 usd now in the US. It worked well with my heavily shedding long haired corgi. Dual antitangle rollers: Dreameās HyperStream detangling DuoBrush and MOVAās TroboWave DuoBrush Like the roborock QRevo Curv, it channels hair that is tangled on it to the narrow end where itāll be free. However unlike the curv, the main difference is that the narrow end where the hair leaves is somewhat covered by the brush roller and the dual brushes are designed like the S8 Pro Ultra in a parallel configuration (II). The brush closer to the front is all TPU rubber for carpets and the brush further from the front is rubber and bristles angled for hair to slip to the narrow end. For homes with heavily shedding pets, models with this DuoBrush are my recommendation as it comes with a fur compression feature where it uses the airflow to push the fur to the end of the dustbin that is furthest from the dustbinās opening so it can fully utilize the space. Itāll also be able to pack more fur into the dustbin. I was able to test this feature and it worked as advertised (which rarely happens). It worked well with my heavily shedding long haired corgi. Models with this DuoBrush: Dreame: Combo: Aqua 10 pro/ultra track, Aqua 10 Ultra Roller, Aqua 10 Roller, X50 Ultra, X50S Ultra, Matrix 10, L50 Ultra, L50 Pro Ultra Vacuum focused with only structured light as its obstacle avoidance sensors: D20 Plus and the D20 Pro Plus MOVA: Combo: V50 Ultra, P50S Ultra, Z60 Ultra Roller, V60 Mobius Vacuum focused with only structured light as its obstacle avoidance sensors: E30 Pro Plus (looks the same as the D20 Pro Plus) Narwalās new model called the flow looks pretty nice too. Narwal is generally more focused on mopping though.
In the us I believe Amazon has sales events coming soon. In the 500-600 range, there is the dreame l40 ultra and the MOVA p10 pro ultra which punches way above their weight compared to other robots in this price range. Both work with an antitangle TriCut brush (which is often given with the robot now but it doesnāt hurt to check) which worked well with my long haired corgi. Do note that the dustbin on these models are rather small and can clog up with fur quickly and even the highest autoempty frequency doesnāt seem to be enough for the super shedders. Thereās the dreame l40s ultra at like 700-800 if obstacle avoidance isnāt an issue (like pet āaccidentsā and cables) but will do much better with fur as it has an onboard fur compression feature which allows it to eat more fur without getting as easily clogged. However at the same price range thereās the eufy s1 (if carpet vacuuming isnāt a concern) and the eufy e25 that are great contenders (just ask eufy support to send the new dirty water tank to prevent leaking, theyāve generally been pretty proactive with this) If Narwal has a sale for their Freo Z ultra Iād check those out too. Itās much cheaper in Western Europe at ā¬549 but is at $799 in the states. Buy these from reputable retailers with a good return policy in case you get a lemon. Amazon has a good 30 day return policy. I believe dreame has physical stores in the US that ship robots for free (often at a discounted price with free accessories) in the mainland US and thereās someone at the store to call if something goes wrong. Iād check Costco out too. They should also have good units and I think the price premium is worth the peace of mind since you can easily return if thereās a dud.
Compared to the Dreame l40 ultra?
Main difference is that the L40S Ultra CE lacks an RGB camera which isnāt helpful for obstacle avoidance and no hot water mop washing. I see the MOVA P10 Pro Ultra at 599 though. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DGR1VDTB/
What about the dreame l40 ultra or the MOVA p10 pro ultra? Should be in the same range which will do better than the eufy and the other vacuum focused models Iāve mentioned as they do not have a camera and a led fill light.
>I wantĀ **strong suction**,Ā **good mopping**,Ā **solid obstacle avoidance**, andĀ **hands-free dock maintenance** MOVA's P50 Pro Ultra will have the best self-cleaning mop washboard. >Prefer something thatāllĀ **last a few years**Ā and not choke on socks or cords MOVA's P50 Pro Ultra and the Dreame L40 Ultra will have the best obstacle avoidance out of the robots you've listed. Ecovacs' obstacle avoidance is eh because of a not-so-good computer vision program, even though it has an RGB camera and structured light. Roborock's **QRevo Edge S5A** only has structured light, and robots with just structured light like to eat socks and cords (mine included). I do see that the tricut brush's performance gets worse on carpet when it comes to fur pickup. For edge mopping, it's actually Dreame's and MOVA's really aggressive edge cleaning algorithm that is the best at mopping closest to edges, right next to furniture, and under toe kicks. However, it doesn't have any springs, so it will ride up against quarter-round wall moldings. Roborock and Ecovacs shouldn't be placed against quarter-round wall moldings when the mop is extended. The corner cleaning is also the best because of the much better side brush extension algorithm from Dreame and MOVA. Roborock is more sheepish in deploying the side brush. User review of the P50 Pro Ultra: [https://www.reddit.com/r/RobotVacuums/comments/1kf3l8c/mova\_p50\_pro\_ultra\_1\_month\_ish\_review/](https://www.reddit.com/r/RobotVacuums/comments/1kf3l8c/mova_p50_pro_ultra_1_month_ish_review/)
Iād recommend the Dreame l40 ultra and the MOVA p10 pro ultra at 400-450. Although they are vacuuming and mopping combo robots, theyāre pretty good vacuum robots with great obstacle avoidance, chair legs and wires wonāt be a concern. If itās only chair legs thatās a concern, Iād check out the roborock q10 s5+ or if hair and fur shedding is a concern the dreame d20 plus/pro plus and the MOVA e30 pro plus which should be in the 200-400 range.
The L40 ultra is better suited as itās the only one that can remove its mops when vacuuming and use the side brush on carpets.
Iād highly recommend the Dreame l40 ultra at 400. Delivers the same features as most flagships today. It supports up to 4 maps (if you want it to mop other levels, you can bring it back to the station to wash the mops or bring the base station up) and it can be used with an antitangle TriCut brush which worked well in my home with a long haired corgi. Itās 50 dollars on Dreameās website but MOVA sells the same brush for 10 dollars on their website.
The L40 ultra cannot handle thresholds nearly as well as the Dreame L50 Ultra and the Dreame X50 Ultra. Iād also check out the MOVA V50.
Iād recommend the Dreame l40 ultra at 400. Unfortunately robots still arenāt 100% when it comes to pet āaccidentsā so please do check before you send your robot out.
The dreame L40 ultra is a better performing option at 399. Itās currently the best bang for buck robot vacuum. It should come with an all rubber brush which is generally tangle resistant but the ends will have hair wrapped around it. Thankfully the end caps are removable so you can easily remove them. I think it can also come with antitangle TriCut brush that does good with hair. If not, I recommend getting the compatible TriCut brush and the accompanying brush cover that stops hair from going to the ends of the brush.
Main difference is that the l40 ultra will be better suited for carpet as it can remove the mops and has the software update to use the side brush on carpets. Other than that, no unless you really want the L40 ultraās onboard voice assistant.
If you have pets that shed a lot, the removed mops when just vacuuming prevent the issue of the lifted mops dragging fur. If you want the TriCut brush for free, MOVAās website has generous membership points which can be used to redeem the TriCut brush selling for 10 dollars if you purchase the p10 pro ultra from them but itās frequently sold out so people say itās best to check their website from time to time.
> I am looking to invest in a robovacuum which will last atleast 5 years. These robots are very new so only time can tell how long these models last. The dreame L40 ultra is the best bang for buck robot right now as a last gen flagship. If the roborock QRevo edge and Curv (the original ones) were at the same price Iād recommend them too.
Depends if you want the robot to vacuum or vacuum and mop. Most combo robots generally sacrifice vacuuming ability to accommodate the mop parts. Best budget vacuuming focused robot is the roborock q10 s5+ or the dreame d20 plus/pro plus in the 200-300 range if pet fur is more of a concern. The Dyson VisNav 360 can be considered if you want a robot that cleans as well as a cordless Dyson (yes, a Dyson is one of the best robot vacuums) but there are tradeoffs regarding its battery life and navigation (current owners say it has improved). Iād only consider the Dyson if it is less than half of its retail price. Do not get the Dyson Spot+Scrub unless you like to burn your money. Best bang for buck robot vacuum and mop combo is the dreame l40 ultra at 400 usd on amazon.
Both the roborock and dreame will do fine with long hair. If you value obstacle avoidance, the Dreame l40 ultra is a better bet at 400 usd.
Iād recommend the Dreame l40 ultra at 400 USD on Amazon and can add ramps in its app. Dreame supportās advice for ramps: > Install a ramp as the approved path for your robot to tackle steps (just make sure the angle is no more than 12°). Quick calculation for ramp (in inches) Given a=1.5 inches and ā α=12°, b = 7.05695 in c = 7.2146 in ā β = 78° = 1.36136 rad = 13/30Ļ

Lidar is generally used for navigation, not obstacle avoidance so do tidy up after any cables, slippers, towels, etc. that could trip up a robot before you send it on its way. If youāre technically skilled and want the robot to do well with obstacle avoidance as it has an RGB camera and work locally (nothing is sent to the cloud): Iād check out valetudo https://valetudo.cloud/pages/general/supported-robots.html Valetudo compatible models under 500 usd with good obstacle avoidance: The dreame l40 ultra, x40 ultra (price may vary), and the MOVA p10 pro ultra If youād rather have it connected to the cloud with no RGB camera (in brandsā alphabetical order): Dreameās L10S Ultra Gen 2 is at 399 MOVAās E40 Ultra is at 379 The roborock QV 35 S at 469 (prices can vary when itās Black Friday
Iād definitely check out the dreame l40 ultra or the MOVA p10 pro ultra at 400-450 on Amazon. Iād get the l40 ultra if you have a home thatās like 50/50 carpet as it can remove the mops for just vacuuming and use the side brush on carpets to help pick up more fur.
I would get these models from Amazon, run it as frequently as possible (cleaning the whole floor once a day and cleaning some rooms too in the same day) before the return period ends so you can catch any build quality issues and return them if it arises. It does seem that the complaints about the broken front wheel have recently decreased in quantity so itās likely that they fixed it in their newer batches. Quality control is the brandās responsibility and Iām not going to apologize nor defend their mistakes which I think shouldnāt have happened in the first place but them improving is a step in the right direction. If you want obstacle avoidance, the MOVA p10 pro ultra and the Dreame l40 ultra (also at the same price) have superior obstacle avoidance of the qrevo edge/curv. Unlike the qrevo edge which has an RGB camera, a flashlight and structured light to help with obstacle avoidance, the Edge S5A has no RGB camera and only structured light so do not expect the edge S5A to avoid things like cables, shoelaces, kid toys, and even people without at least bumping into them. Iād choose the dreame l40 ultra over the p10 pro ultra as it can use the side brush on carpets and remove its mops when it is vacuuming. MOVA did send me their V50 ultra and their z60 ultra roller for a review as part of their Reddit collaboration program.
The dreame l40 ultra is at 400. Itās currently the best bang for buck robot vacuum. Itās good practice to tap the dust out of the filter once every few cleaning runs and to give it a good rinse once in a while
At Amazon Iād recommend the Dreame l40 ultra at 400 :) You can get a cheap antitangle TriCut brush that works well with long hair and pet fur. MOVAās website sells it for 10 dollars but resellers on platforms like AliExpress also can sell it for the same price or cheaper :)
Iād recommend the L40 Ultra, it is more fully featured imo.
Iād run the robot several times a day before the return period ends to make sure there are no flaws that could show up. Itās always good to tap dust out of the removable dustbin filter after every few cleaning runs. Highly recommend setting it to vacuum first then mop. If your home is mostly hardfloors, the standard to strong suction level is generally more than enough.
I highly recommend the Dreame l40 ultra at 400 :) Best bang for buck robot there is in the US right now.
Iād highly recommend the Dreame l40 ultra at 399 as a vacuum and mop combo robot as you can get it to completely avoid carpets that it detects (you can also add them in the app) as it can remove the mops for the carpet. It should come with an antitangle TriCut brush which worked well in my home with a long haired corgi and waist length hair. A good vacuum focused option is the MOVA e30 pro plus at 249 with good antitangle duo brush rollers that worked great with my long haired corgi.
Isnāt there the L40 ultra at the same price as the MOVA and can remove its mops for carpet?
Iād check out the dreame l40 ultra at 399 which comes with a free antitangle TriCut brush and itāll mop much better than the two robots you listed.
Thereās also the Narwal Freo Z ultra at 549-599 euros :)
If you want a flagship robot at a not so flagship price the Narwal Freo Z ultra is my recommendation. Only drawback is youād have to change the water tanks more often.
For a hard floor apartment without any pets, I donāt think mop removal matters too much (but will for homes with heavily shedding pets). The l40 ultra will have better corner and edge cleaning. Both the l40 and Narwal Freo Z ultra have remote camera viewing and hot water mop washing.
I would look at the Dreame L40 Ultra first. You can snag it for around ~$400, and itās a steal at that price point because it often bundles with the TriCut Anti-Tangle Brush. Iāve tested this brush, and it actually works well on fur and hair, though the trade-off is that itās noticeably louder than premium models and isn't magicāyou'll still need to pull hair clumps off the ends of the roller about once every two weeks. But for the price, itās hard to beat. However, if you are willing to spend a bit more to get that perfect experience you mentioned where you don't have to babysit the machine, I highly recommend the MOVA V50 Ultra Complete at 779 USD. I run this in a home with a long-haired Corgi and waist-length human hair (much longer than the standard 12-inch test hair), and it has literally never tangled. Not once. If you run it on the heavy Vacuum first then Mop cycle, it might need to head back to the dock to recharge once during a 1000sqft sq. ft. run, but honestly, since it doesn't eat cables or get stuck, I just let it do its thing. It perfectly fits your criteria. You can read my full deep dive on the V50 here: https://www.reddit.com/r/RobotVacuums/comments/1mmdaw4/still_not_perfect_but_my_dog_and_i_think_the_mova/ (Full disclosure: MOVA sent me this unit to review and keep for their Reddit collaboration program, but they have zero editorial control over my reviews. I say what I want.)

The Dreame L40 Ultra will deliver more features like better obstacle avoidance since it has an RGB camera and better edge cleaning (it swings and extends its side brush and mop more liberally than the Roborock models) at 400 USD.
Is the dock on hard floors? The L40 ultra doesnāt do well when the dock is on carpets.
Dreameās L40 ultra is the best bang for buck combo at 399 :)
Iād recommend a robot good with fur like the dreame d20 pro plus and the MOVA e30 pro plus as their dual antitangle brushes do well with fur and their large dustbin paired with the fur compression feature which compacts the fur in the dustbin with airflow can hold a lot of fur. This is a vacuuming focused model so donāt expect great mopping as Iām pretty sure you value it being able to tackle all that fur more. You can see justadadās review of it here: https://youtu.be/qkjU7Ge0FEA They will not avoid any pet messes so do check before you run them. If you want it to avoid things like cables, the Dreame l40 ultra and the MOVA p10 pro ultra are good vacuum and mop combo choices but I think the dustbin will be easily clogged with fur.
For $400, you really arenāt going to get anything better than the eufy C20. Iād actually increase my budget by 50 dollars and look at the dreame l40 ultra and the MOVA p10 pro ultra at 450 which will clean much better than the eufy c20
Thereās the MOVA p10 pro ultra and the l40 ultra at 399. Iād get the l40 ultra since it can remove its mops for carpet.
The dreame L40 ultra and the MOVA P50 ultra will have much better obstacle avoidance than the QRevo MaxV. The self cleaning of the mop washboard: MOVA p50 pro ultra > dreame l40 ultra (mop driven wipers but drag hair) > qrevo MaxV (just mop cleaning, no washboard self cleaning) Ease of cleaning the mop washboard: MOVA p50 pro ultra (can be done in app and youād need to get down to wipe the mostly flat washboard with a Clorox wipe once in a while and the palm sized drainage filter is removable and easily washable) > qrevo MaxV (washboard is completely removable but some nooks and crannies) > dreame l40 ultra (the washboard is removable but the base where water collects is not so youād have to get down for much longer and thereās far too many nooks and crannies for my liking) If youāre okay with parting with about 750 for the MaxV, maybe consider the eufy e25 for better mopping.
Iād say Dreame L40 Ultra ā X40 Ultra. Same bits and bobs and the same mop washboard but in a different color so the P50 pro ultra is easier to maintain
L40 is closer to the X40. The L40S Pro Ultra is the budget X50
I tried out the mainland Chinese version of the L40s Pro Ultra way before it was released outside mainland China, when it was sold as the S40 Enhanced Edition. The L40s Ultra AE and the L40 Ultra AE is closer to the L40 Ultra using the same dustbin design.
At this price, the L40 blows out all other robot vacuums sold at the same price since itās a de facto flagship.
You can set it to vacuum and mop in one room and set it to vacuum only in another room if thatās what youāre asking.
All robots you've mentioned will do fine with sand. For obstacle avoidance, Dreame's l/x40 ultra > Roborock saros > Ecovacs X8. I think the Dreame l/x40 ultra is 440 and 540 in the US now.
1. Anything that moves can break. So I suggest buying from a retailer with a good return policy + a good protection plan. 2. For base station cleaning: Dreame (some models), eufy, Narwal, roborock, and Xiaomi have completely removable mop washboards. Iām not a fan of the wiper driven mop washboards on the Dreame X/L30 and X/L40 ultra and the MOVA P10 Ultra/Pro Ultra simply because thereās too many nook and crannies to clean. However their new aceclean dryboard on the L/V/X50 Ultra and newer is much easier to clean even when only the filter is removable since thereās no nooks and crannies for dirt to hide in and dirt only really collects under the removable filter which is easily removed with a wet wipe or a Clorox wipe. Iād avoid bagless base stations. Spinning mop combo robots are less maintenance than roller mop robots.
Iād save my money and go with a dreame L/X40 which retails from 440-680ish if you buy it from their physical store which does free mainland shipping in the us if you place an order via phone/email. You can change the mop pad holders to the flexipress ones which can tilt up to 5° and go up 2mm and down 1mm and use plush mop pads like the roborock Saros or Curv pads which are better for uneven surfaces like your textured tiled floors.
Mine is mopping okay , I use mop settings with intensive or deep mode. This creates a overlap in the S Pattern so it will go over the spots.I vacuum separately. However I have hardwood floors which are not very dirty and just need some daily polishing effect to remove the foot prints. I am not so picky about it. For kitchen I use clean genius x3. I wonder if the expensive Roborock ones mop better.
I would push you towards either Roborock or dreame as they both have the best robots in the game and some of the best apps. I would also suggest you to consider using the mopping feature as a lot of new vacuums now are able to smart detect carpet and other things to keep your floors safe. IF youāre not using the mopping feature then itās super easy to keep you probably under $1500 for three of them without even thinking about it. The other thing Iām going to suggest is keeping all three of them in one ecosystem so you can set up smart schedules through your app and let it handle almost everything. What I would do personally (if I had to buy 3) X1 [Dreame L40 Ultra AE](https://a.co/d/13v1INz) ($999 each): put this in your highest traffic area and you will be blown away by how clean your floors get. [Review](https://youtu.be/0tDHbOp-WjY?si=igaZKjPZlbNyogeJ). x2 [Dreame L40 Ultra](https://a.co/d/gHy9S4I) ($599 each). You could also just get three of these and be very happy. The L40 Ultra a phenomenal robot tha will do anything you could possibly think of asking it while also being able to handle tougher situations. [Review](https://youtu.be/51YlbWSDGDs?si=IoUXFZaR8w-rV58i). This is a steal at $599. Personally, I would just buy two of the L40 ultra AEs and put the Rooma in that unfinished space you were talking about. I would also consider two [Roborock S8 ultra maxes](https://a.co/d/5n5nCQq). I have the S7 ultra and I would die for it.
L40 ultra is a great robot. Carpet will always be difficult but it will do its job, but donāt expect it to clean like a cord vacuum. You could also think about the L40 ultra **AE** version. Except for the extending side brush for vacuuming, itās functionally the same. All L40 have great mopping and vacuum performance on hard floor.
At least for home robots I donāt think thereās any available. Robovacs are being build with vacuuming and mopping in mind, this will only intensify in the future. First, I donāt believe you need a $1000 robot for mopping. Yes the Narwal is that expensive but there are a lot of other robots for cheaper that also do a good job with mopping. Sure roller/track mops are considered the best currently and they are still all really new, thatās why they are expensive, but I donāt think just because of that spinners done work. Spinners also do a good job, sure they have problems with west messes, but just scraping dirt is also possible with them. E.g. Dreame L40 Ultra AE has excellent mopping performance
The Dreame L40 Ultra AE is definitely a great piece. It has high end features but for a mid range price. The navigation/ obstacle avoidance is great with Dreame. Mopping will also be good.
Iāve tested the narwal flow before, currently running a Dreame L40S Pro Ultra, an EU upgraded L40 Ultra + L40 Ultra AE basically. I wasnāt too satisfied with the Flow but the Dreame does a great job. It has the extending side brush and gets into corners and along the base board really well. What model are you running?
Your selection is absolutely valid. Also, the >$1000 robovacs are never really a good choice since they drop in price so fast itās just not worth it, so you should always aim for either really cheap, mid or $800-1000, but not above. Now the ecovacs robots perform well but have a bit crappy software/app. I think the app is as important to have fun with the robot as the robot itself so that why I wouldnāt choose them. You definitely want to have nice and easy features to adjust your map and cleaning modes. Dreams is a really nice all around robot. They have nice hardware paired with real good software. The L40 ultra ae is also one of my favorites. Itās a high end robot, with only a few things lee ed ft out, for a good price. Definitely recommend. Roborock shines when it comes to their app and generally their battery life, reliability and efficiency. Also a really good choice. Dreame vs Roborock is a difficult decision and I would maybe make use of the often available 30 day testing period and see what works out best for you. I like dreame because you often get a bit more features for slightly lower price than all others.

i chose a roborock qvec master, because i trust roborock more as a company. but it has worse obstacle detection. also from what i saw the roborock app is a lot better than dreame. otherwise, i would have purchased the l40 for myself [https://www.amazon.de/-/en/dreame-L40s-Pro-Ultra-Self-Cleaning/dp/B0F53MJY8T?crid=2727FIM84YT89&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.2hUpg-z1RjiDzrOGxvyvC6CgCSG\_2g4Hdk\_zdgf2UGsUTaSkklpFnRVosmiZkvF1aE6pF1Sgxhlf5IHzzmKh653jsusH8yG-5dliSBnS7v2MgxcVHnfA5uPIJ7SbAJGBK-BRSfRy\_JMsApdG-WErbzf-w1Ohtdgp8XPVILLgHY-CjbbCX4tIVBihmOpZVGIHk8IcfHgnfZpol5dh1UPsSwKTrm5lhVLlrwwqrtY-fHM.45eJwRcTFptKnDH8bJ0fdp9N107ax7U4LpYjJaLYNmE&dib\_tag=se&keywords=dreame&qid=1771578620&sprefix=dreame%2Caps%2C111&sr=8-6&ufe=app\_do%3Aamzn1.fos.0acb3359-374a-4c42-81de-4a9313691737&th=1](https://www.amazon.de/-/en/dreame-L40s-Pro-Ultra-Self-Cleaning/dp/B0F53MJY8T?crid=2727FIM84YT89&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.2hUpg-z1RjiDzrOGxvyvC6CgCSG_2g4Hdk_zdgf2UGsUTaSkklpFnRVosmiZkvF1aE6pF1Sgxhlf5IHzzmKh653jsusH8yG-5dliSBnS7v2MgxcVHnfA5uPIJ7SbAJGBK-BRSfRy_JMsApdG-WErbzf-w1Ohtdgp8XPVILLgHY-CjbbCX4tIVBihmOpZVGIHk8IcfHgnfZpol5dh1UPsSwKTrm5lhVLlrwwqrtY-fHM.45eJwRcTFptKnDH8bJ0fdp9N107ax7U4LpYjJaLYNmE&dib_tag=se&keywords=dreame&qid=1771578620&sprefix=dreame%2Caps%2C111&sr=8-6&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.0acb3359-374a-4c42-81de-4a9313691737&th=1)
I've been in exactly the same situation for a few months now, deciding which robot vacuum cleaner to buy. After searching for a long timeĀ for a reliable robot vacuum that can handle both daily cleaning and mopping, I eventually found theĀ Dreame X50 Ultra. I think it could solved my necesityĀ of keeping my home clean with minimal effort while dealing with occasional spills and tracked-in dirtĀ because of system of powerful suction. What specifically will work for meĀ is its self-emptying base that means I only need to empty the dustbin every couple of monthsĀ andĀ the hot water mop washing that actually removes stuck-on messes instead of just spreading them around. But I must say there's something I've noticed in the reviews that i really dislike and that isĀ the mobile app can be a bit confusing to set up initially, especially when trying to set the zones. Here's the link if you're interested to take a look at it too:Ā [dreame L40s Ultra](https://www.amazon.com/DREAME-Emptying-Flexible-Washboard-Selection/dp/B0F32RNBV4?content-id=amzn1.sym.4c61f955-e7de-442a-8523-70c629306862%3Aamzn1.sym.4c61f955-e7de-442a-8523-70c629306862&crid=1L4UAK5GHLZF5&cv_ct_cx=dreame%2Bx50%2Bultra&keywords=dreame%2Bx50%2Bultra&pd_rd_i=B0F32RNBV4&pd_rd_r=9b45b5a3-e0f0-4f77-9441-692cfc5b95a6&pd_rd_w=3jUWL&pd_rd_wg=z6PaE&pf_rd_p=4c61f955-e7de-442a-8523-70c629306862&pf_rd_r=J0NXMQCHSPN7ME6PS44M&qid=1763419610&sbo=9ZOMT9Jm0JH%2Ft%2BWi68iDSA%3D%3D&sprefix=dreame%2B%2Caps%2C402&sr=1-1-28dec9df-ff35-40b5-8e68-2d1c97dfc4dc-spons&aref=3pBQQns10G&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9zZWFyY2hfdGhlbWF0aWM&th=1&linkCode=ll1&tag=topekapro27-20&linkId=da49d4430b48081088d944e2b24ee89d&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl) One thing that I think will help me isĀ having a clean home even during busy weeks when I don't have time for manual cleaning. I hope my recommendation can help you; I'm also about to pull the trigger to buy, but so many options are driving me crazy too. Good luck.
