I've been testing and reviewing robovacs (and other smart home products) for a few years. I test products in my home, rather than an obstacle course, but I am the only one who tests each machine, so its apples to apples. I also have a messy house- pitted tile, rugs, wood floors, and carpet, with a few high transitions. I have a dog (and occasionally, chickens who breach the doggie door to come inside) and am a very physical cook, according to my kitchen floor. You definitely do not have to agree with my choices, but I think I have a different viewpoint than a lot of other outlets, mostly because I am the person responsible for cleaning my home, and I make all buying decisions. I want robots to be the accessibility and labor removing dream of the future, but I like to set realistic expectations. **Under $200** Cheap robots are getting better, and one of my absolute favorites is in this category. But generally speaking, these are vacuums. Yes, they come with mops, but those mops suck. Ignore them and enjoy a cheap, usually pretty good vacuum for the price. Pay attention, because at this price point, some models don't come with towers, meaning you have to empty them yourself, every day or so (unless you live in a VERY clean home). The SwitchBot is tiny. Its like a little M&M moving around your floor, but one that comes with ridiculously high suction power for the price, and a tower. It can get into spaces no other bot can, and it does it shockingly well. Its good on carpet, but shines on hard floors. If you've got carpet, go with the Eureka- its got a dock AND its bagless (which is a big deal to some people). But Eureka has just really figured out how to get a robot to deal with carpet well. I am also a big fan of the 3i G10. I included the Roborock, because look at that price drop, and RR's are, IMO, very reliable. Again... all three of these models have mops. They suck. Don't use them. |Model|Original Price|Sale Price|Discount| |:-|:-|:-|:-| |[Roborock Q8 Max black](https://www.amazon.com/shop/amandablumstiktok/list/3JOR6YW9B5G7Y?ref_=aipsflist)|$599.99|$169.99|72%| |[Eureka E20 Robot Vacuum](https://amzn.to/40S3qde)|$309.00|$176.99|43%| |[SwitchBot Robot Vacuum K11+](https://www.amazon.com/shop/amandablumstiktok/list/1VV8DEM3PE45Q?ref_=aipsflist)|$399.99|$199.99|50%| **Under $350** Its not even close here. That Dreame L10s was a flagship model, with the features to match. While this particular drop isn't high, this was once an over 1000$ model. Its got a great mop, (spinning pads, no rollers in this price band), sanitizes the pads in the tower, high suction, great nav. I've included the Eureka, even with a not great discount, because if you have a LOT of carpet, you might want to consider it instead. The Eufy in this price band and the Roborocks all have dramatically less features, they're budget robots. |Model|Original Price|Sale Price|Discount| |:-|:-|:-|:-| |[Eureka E20 Evo Plus](https://www.amazon.com/shop/amandablumstiktok/list/3B7PW181H2UKM?ref_=aipsflist)|$299.99|$249.99|17%| |[Dreame L10s Pro Ultra](https://www.amazon.com/shop/amandablumstiktok/list/1F74O472G0T4G?ref_=aipsflist)|$449.99|$349.98|22%| **Under $500** On features alone, the L40 is the best buy. Outrageous suction, hot water wash, it has a cutter for long hair, etc. BUT.... that Qrevo, despite having less than half the suction of the L40, is better at vacuuming on hard floors and carpet. two reasons: Roborocks are good at positioning the sweep/rollers/suction in a way that works, and also, having a dual roller rather than one helps keep tangles from happening, the extending arm helps a lot to grab under things. I've included the S1, a robot I could not have been less enthused about when [I tested it](https://lifehacker.com/tech/eufy-omni-s1-pro-robot-vacuum-review), because people love Eufys (I don't) and they love a roller mop. It managed to get the kitchen sparkle-clean after a full day of canning where the floor was a mess. It got debris easily, navigated complicated layouts and did a great job mopping. It had issues with bathmats, but all robots do. The X9 was a far [better mop than vacuum](https://lifehacker.com/tech/ecovacs-deebot-x9-pro-omni-review) when I tested it as a flagship, but at this lower price, I have few complaints. Its a gorgeous robot and tower, and its a roller mop and people are convinced they're better (I'm iffy, but that's neither here nor there). Finally, I could not let you pass on the J15, which I love as a deep cleaning vacuum with a good mop, but its definitely vacuum forward (and I mean on hard floors, too). The Eurekas have a very well designed triad of big sweep, roller and suction that gets a lot of debris, but more importantly, there's a razor that cuts long hair so it doesn't clog. I'm a fangirl, for sure. |Model|Original Price|Sale Price|Discount| |:-|:-|:-|:-| |[Yeedi S16 Plus](https://amazn.so/syHBN9e)|$899.99|$649.99|28%| |[ECOVACS DEEBOT X9 PRO OMNI](https://amazn.so/mT8uLzT)|$1,299.99|$679.00|48%| |[Eureka J15 Pro Ultra](https://amzn.to/4t0faGm)|$999.99|$699.99|30%| **Under $1000** The hill I will die on is that the 3i S10 Ultra is the best robovac, ever. It has it all: Gigantic sweeps which get everything, rollers that never clog, suction that actually picks everything off the floor. A roller mop that works really well. But... sit down. The damn thing sanitizes dirty water and then makes new water by acting as a dehumidifier. *You never change the water.* Like, ever. Sure, it weighs like 70lbs and looks like a kids science museum exhibit, but its quiet and perfect and the child I always wanted :) There have been rumors of 3i's demise, a complicated story involving their company buying iRobot. But.. I have spoken to 3i and they assure me there is absolutely no news about them closing the 3i brand. And, this is is a good price for it (it was $1899 last year). But... if you're gunshy on a "new" brand.... I can make things easy. People are always trying to decide between the Dreame X50 and the Roborock Saros 10/10r. Get the Dreame (its such a steal at this price, and I didn't see a big difference between the X50 and X60 in testing). They try to decide between the Narwal Flow and the Dreame Aqua. Get the Flow (the Aqua leaked). And then, I have to always remind people how freaking awesome the Eureka J15 line is at vacuuming. |Model|Original Price|Sale Price|Discount| |:-|:-|:-|:-| |[3i S10 Ultra](https://amazn.so/jEfBGlZ)|$999.99|$799.99|20%| |[DREAME X50 Ultra](https://www.amazon.com/shop/amandablumstiktok/list/2TBXG31JJKDAZ?ref_=aipsflist)|$1,599.99|$849.99|47%| |[Narwal Flow](https://amazn.so/C7hNQxp)|$1,499.99|$899.99|40%| |[Eureka J15 Max Ultra](https://www.amazon.com/shop/amandablumstiktok/list/ZVLS0BAELRF2?ref_=aipsflist)|$1,199.99|$899.99|25%| **Over $1000** A testament to how robot prices are coming down, I don't think you should spend more than $1000 right now. There's nothing in that band that I think is a great buy or necessary. If you love to tinker or have a kid that does, there's a good price on the Saros Z70, but its for tinkering. I didn't love it at cleaning, and its an expensive tinker toy. I'm testing the Saros 20 right now, so nothing to report yet. And I don't think anything else in that band stands out. Spend less. **Some notes on recommendations** Whenever I do this, the comments often ask, "but what about the xxxxxx?" or "why didn't you recommend the xxxx?". The answers are, in this order, "it wasn't as good as what I recommended", and "because I didn't want to" :P If you still want to buy something I didn't recommend, go for it! For instance, I am not recommending any iRobots right now. I'm happy they were acquired and really excited at what Picea (which owns 3i) may bring to the brand. But the existing lineup sucks. I'm iffy on Ecovacs, and at certain price points they're worth recommending, but I've never found a flagship I thought was great. People love Eufy bots, but I've rarely been impressed. Still, one made the list. I based this list on what was for sale, not every robot available. I think these are good buys and I think you should buy them from Amazon or Costco. Costco, if you can, because of their return policy, and Amazon because they hassle you less on returns than the brands themselves, do, a real swing and a miss for the brands, IMO. These are affiliate links, and I have permission to post them from u/leading_release_4344
Well I think it's unique for a few reasons. There are some outlets where one person tests everything like just a dad. But in most cases it's many people doing the testing so it's very hard to get an apples to apples comparison. Also a lot of reviewers, usually mail ones, have decided the best way to test these is by designing an obstacle course for the robots. And while I understand the logic, even vacuum wars has started to figure out that it doesn't represent real usage in a home. Also, you can't discount AI and the effect it has, your robots learn your space. Testing them in a obstacle course doesn't really show that off.
There SHOULD be more difference. The x60 has the highest Pa I've ever seen at 35k. But this is proof that my longstanding assertion that suction doesn't matter as much as anyone thinks is true. And it has steam mopping, and this plate thats supposed to protect carpets. Oh, and its slimmer. But in practice? I didn't see a difference. The x50 didn't have a problem navigating around carpets, and the x60 still doesn't. Maybe other people experienced issues with rugs, but I never did. I saw no improvement of what it picked up or didn't, and where I wanted it to count (picking up bigger debris), the suction doesn't help, because those things still get stuck in the rollers, causing the robot to error. A slimmer robot IS helpful if that's been an issue (places you can't get under) but if not.... it doesn't matter. It can surmount slightly taller thresholds.... but until its a stair, meh. When i look at the pricing, I just don't see the justification for that big a difference. The x50 is a deal.
If you love the roborock, don't switch over, IMO. There are great RR's for sale this week. [https://www.reddit.com/r/RobotVacuums/comments/1s3qr8l/amazon\_big\_spring\_sale\_recommendations\_by\_price/](https://www.reddit.com/r/RobotVacuums/comments/1s3qr8l/amazon_big_spring_sale_recommendations_by_price/) If you DO want to switch, I'd argue for the L50. It has better rollers (ignore the higher Pa. Its not as important as you think). It has the lifting chassis, which is helpful if you have thresholds, but also generally helpful, in my experience, to get over obstacles and most importantly- it seems to put pressure on the back of the robot when mopping, so the mop gets better contact w the floor. The hot water washing of the mop is something people feel passionately about, I see less of a big deal, but the L50 has it and the l40 doesn't. L50 is also slimmer because the LIDAR tower retracts.
Hey, I am as excited as you are to test a DJI robot, but that's all. Test it. I can't see any reason to wait, because it could (and likely will) have quirks that need to be worked out. And I like DJI. There are a lot of brands, but I agree with the Roborock sentiment for this reason: they are consistently putting out good machines, whereas most other companies are hit and miss for me, and some are just consistent misses. If your dad is getting these clean via Swiffer, almost anything is going to be better or atleast the same, EXCEPT for the "edges" of rooms. He may still Swiffer, but atleast it'll only be toekicks, corners, under the stove/fridge, etc. I don't have numbers on the Saros downward force... they may well be out there. But just think of it this way, that lifting chassis brings up the front of the robot to go over thresholds. The back is forced downward, where the mop is. What I can say is that I think you can't go wrong here and you're probably making yourself more nuts than you have to. Both were GREAT machines and honestly, I had a very hard time saying one was better. They're mildly different, that's all. Based on what you're saying, if you trust me, go with a 10R.
The J15 Ultra, with the razor cutters on the roller, is still the right vacuum. Buy it off the Eureka site, where its $550, if you can comfortably stretch. Don't get the Mova. The Dreame L40 Ultra is very good and would be a GREAT buy-remember reviewers bought it at 3x the price and like me, were reviewing it as a premium robot against other premium robots. For under $500? No brainer, its fantastic. Does that make sense? I think you have 2 great options. the L40 ultra or the J15 Ultra (through the Eureka website).
sure. If you are willing to spend $100 more, get the Dreame L40 Ultra. it's on clearance, so its $474, but this was a VERY popular model, and you're getting a premium, $1500 robot at 1/3 of the price. It's such a good deal it's hard to argue for anything else at that price point. Don't get another Eufy. This will be better.
Almost all robots have sensors so that they're not going to fall off your stairs, and the vast majority have multi-floor mapping. If you can score an l40 ultra for under $500 I would grab it as soon as you can.
The curve and edge are the same model. Personally, I happen to enjoy the look of the curve more because I'm sick of square towers. It's a personal preference. But, you don't really need to have that conversation. Because the l40 ultra is such a good deal. I would grab it.
I would get the l40 ultra, I would get it today while it's on Prime sale and I would get it from Amazon. Mostly because it's a very easy return situation if you need it, while you get all of the customer support from the original brand.
I'd get the L40 Ultra. too good a deal to pass up, even though I'm a roborock loyalist.
As a fellow spoonie, I get you. OK. so some reality checks. Those shredded pet toys and cardboard are an issue. You've got to get those off the floor or any 700 robot is going to get stuck on them. If they're big enough toy floof clouds, the robot will avoid them because it perceives them as poop, but they have to be pretty big for that. We can solve that some different ways. Similar issue in kitchen (i experience this as well). Stains from the splatters are hard for robots to get. You need that pressure that manual mops have. But we can work around that too. You could run the robot ON the mat, but getting the robot onto the map is gonna be tough. if you could find a spot to add a tiny ramp (a piece of foam or triangle of wood) that'd help. Folding it up would suck. the dust, floor types, etc.. none of those are an issue. So... at 700$, you've got a few options. The J15 Ultra, purchased on Eureka, for $550. its out of stock at Amazon, but its a very good buy. The Pro Ultra will be on sale tomorrow, with a coupon that'll bring it down to 750, if you can swing it. This would be a great buy, good mop, etc but its not going to solve the above problems, we have to get around those. It will get the center of your rooms clean, and does as good a job on the edges as you can hope for. There's the L40 Ultra, as you mentioned. A great premium robot, but its' gonna get caught on debris, and my gut, since I know precisely the debris you're talking about in the kitchen/dog, is that the debris is often bigger than a cheerio. Dropped receipts, hair ties, (looking around my floor rn for reference), rando bits. But its an undeniable good deal. I liked the Qrevo MaxV... the Pro is a lesser vacuum but not terrible (haven't tested it, just reading the featureset differences https://www.rtings.com/robot-vacuum/tools/compare/roborock-s8-maxv-ultra-vs-roborock-qrevo-pro/49691/60895) The Curv is a legit better robot than these, but $$$$. I would encourage you to consider the 3i P10. I've just started playing with it, but since i'd REALLY like it if you could swing the 3i S10 which is kind of the total problem solver, this is a good backup at 599$ (and someone gave me a promo code good for 10% off it you buy it today). OK. so again... short of the s10, you're going to need to mitigate some stuff. The fluff/cardboard. if bending over and cleaning is rough, get a standing rake and collection bin. to help grab all of that, and your kitchen debris that's too large. Hold onto the dustmop (it can use wet mops, I assume?) and use that when there's a stain the robot can't touch, or once in a while around the "edges" of the room. Let me know how this lands, and what you're gravitating towards. If you're cool w it, I'll throw some affiliate links your way for them.
I literally just had this convo in a PM w someone from rtings. I do. I thought the L40 was a better robot than most Dreame models, and while I didn't find it worth the value at the original price, I do think its worth it on sale. The P10 doesn't have longevity, IMO, because I think they skimp on hardware to keep the costs down. That's my hot take, and I totally get that I'm an island (I also dislike Eufy, and people in this sub love them) but I use a different testing method than most other testers (I test in an actual home setting), and I stand by it. The thing is, in that band, the L40 is my last pick. I'd get either the J15 or 3i before I got the L40. In the end, the model you pick is likely going to be fine, regardless. you haven't tested 100 robovacs, so like a virgin on your wedding night, it's all probably gonna seem great. if you feel strongly about the P10, go for it.
I prefer the other two models in that price band, but the L40 is still a great machine and its a fantastic price.
# [Under $300](https://amzn.to/48R0G4J) Generally speaking, I think its rare you find a great robot at this price, and I've discussed why there's some sense in [not spending the money on real discount robots](https://www.whatrobotvacuumshouldiget.com/2025/06/20/are-budget-robot-vacuums-worth-buying/). Still... there are a few gems worth looking at, as more expensive models drop under this threshold. If you've got a smaller place, or a place with many floor objects, try a Switchbot. Because they're so small, they can get between chair legs and make a small radius around things. Switchbot just doesn't get enough attention, IMO. Lots of people purchased the K10+ Pro on my recommendation during Prime Day and have posted about how happy they are. The 11 made the tower smaller and improved some other specs, but is mostly the same model. The perfect apartment, studio, or office vac. Performs spectacularly well as a vacuum, particularly given the price and stats, but it is ONLY a vacuum. If you're more concerned about a mop, get the 3i. (its great at both, to be clear, but it has the best mop of the bunch). I really like the 3i brand, they're not new, they've been making robots for other companies for years. The G10 is stripped down from premium models, but it had the same sweeper>roller design that is so effective on the higher end models. If you're looking for a carpet forward model, Eureka is the only legacy vacuum brand that successfully transitioned to robots that work. While no brand has great customer service anymore, there's a benefit to Eureka being US based. No waiting 24 hours for a response. |**Model**|**Original Price**|**BDD Price**|**Discount**| |:-|:-|:-|:-| |[SwitchBot Robot Vacuum K11+](https://amzn.to/4mOxq1O)|399.99|224.99|44%| |[3i G10+](https://amzn.to/48znS7N)|$449.99|$269.99|40%| |[Eureka E20 Plus](https://amzn.to/4mOwQBd)|449.99|299.99|33%| # [Under $500](https://amzn.to/4o4MPMA) Were seeing some amazing deals in this price band. That L40 Ultra has dropped from the original price of $1499 to under $500. So many people have been grabbing this model since Prime Day and most of them report being quite happy. While it wouldn't have been my favorite at a higher price, at this price, you're getting a premium model at an absurd sale price. I absolutely love the 3i current line up. The vacuum and mop are both fantastic and the app-easy. This is basically my top pick (3i S10 Ultra) minus the dehumidifier. The P10 still has the great sweep/roller design and gets up debris no other brand can without getting clogged. Get this one if you're concerned about larger debris. The Eureka is better than it should be. I loved the sweeper design, it moved debris off hard floors and carpet very effectively and would be my pick for carpet. Rarely got stuck on anything or reported errors, and it was just really reliable. I recommended this model during Prime Day, and got a lot of good feedback from folks who picked it up. |**Model**|**Original Price**|**BDD Price**|**Discount**| |:-|:-|:-|:-| |[Dreame L40 Ultra](https://amzn.to/48Rswhk)|$799.99|$469.99|41% | |[Eureka J15 Ultra](https://amzn.to/4gUYACY)|699.99|489.99|30%| |[3i P10 Ultra](https://amzn.to/4h1Sy3y)|$1,099.99|$469.99|55%| # [Under $750](https://amzn.to/4nypaUV) Roborock has won my loyalty over the past few years by producing consistently reliable robots, and the S5A is no different. A variant of the Qrevo line, with spinning mop heads that extend. While Roborock may produce an absurd number of models, and the S5A is no exception, they are reliable for an exceptional app experience, with intuitive setting locations, great support and good hardware with easy to find replacement parts. The L40S is the best of both worlds. A premium vac, at a not premium price for now. This is the model with the best balance on this list, of vacuum and mop. It improves over the L40 in the previous band with better nav and suction. Finally, if you want to emphasize mopping, Narwal does it really well. My two issues w this model are that it uses a ridiculous amount of water and there's a giant button on top of the machine your pet or kid will want to bop. If you don't mind refilling a lot, and you dig into the settings to lock the button (or don't have kids/pets) this is ideal. |**Model**|**Original Price**|**BDD Price**|**Discount**| |:-|:-|:-|:-| |[Narwal Freo Z Ultra (White Version)](https://amzn.to/46IEhUI)|$1,499.99|$550.00|63%| |[Roborock Qrevo Edge S5A](https://amzn.to/46ZYXI5)|$999.99|$649.99|35%| |[Dreame L40s Ultra](https://amzn.to/4o5ARCv)|$1,099.99|$749.99|32%| # [Under $900 ](https://amzn.to/4oad9oS) From the day it was released, I thought the Curv was a steal, most of the premium features of the S8 line, at a better price with improvements to the sweeps, extending out beyond the robot. The CurvX improves on the Curv with higher Pa and better nav. I do think its a better vacuum than mop. The X9 is a better mop than vacuum. but other than getting clogged here and there, was generally a good vacuum, and this is a reasonable price for it. Eureka is the best surprise this year. The J15 line is consistent and reliably performing. I love the sweeps, its a very effective mop and carpet cleaner and offers US based support. |**Model**|**Original Price**|**BDD Price**|**Discount**| |:-|:-|:-|:-| |[Ecovacs x9 Pro Omni](https://amzn.to/46CySzK)|$1,599.00|$899.00|44%| |[Eureka J15 Max Ultra](https://amzn.to/46UkK3x)|1199.99|$899.00|25%| |[Roborock Qrevo CurvX](https://amzn.to/48PvS4j)|$1,499.99|$899.99|40%| # [Over $900 ](https://amzn.to/48OKBMY) In this band are my top two recommendations. Let's start with my favorite robot of all time (a BIG statement). 3i has been making robots for other brands for a while, but the 3i is their first flagship. The S10 Ultra blew me away and became the only robot I've ever kept after testing. It will vacuum anything, without getting stuck or clogged. I mean, giant pieces of mulch. No problem. It cleans water on its own and generates more from the air, so it truly is set it and forget it. Totally autonomous. I've been yapping about it for months, and of everyone who bought it during Prime Day, I'd say people were split, 60/40. Most loved it, but some complained of a musty smell, which makes sense, since the unit is basically a dehumidifier (that's how it generates water). I've had mine for 6 months and don't notice a smell in a very wet state (Oregon), but it seems like something worth noting. So let's talk about the Flow. I tested the Dreame and Narwal roller mops, (and previously, the Eufy roller mops). Everyone is obsessed with roller mops, but the Flow is the first one I recommend. The flow improves on the Freo Z and X by not needing to be refilled constantly, and the vacuum improves over all other Narwal models. I still don't think roller mops are the end all/be all, so I wouldn't recommend dropping $1500 of this model, but I do think the Flow is worth buying at this sale price. |**Model**|**Original Price**|**BDD Price**|**Discount**| |:-|:-|:-|:-| |[3i S10 Ultra](https://amzn.to/4o7hKIe)|$1,899.99|$1,099.99|42%| |[Narwal Flow](https://amzn.to/3IxMoLX)|$1,499.99|$1,099.99|27%| If you're looking for ALL the models on sale for Big Deal Days, they're [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/RobotVacuums/comments/1nvsulx/every_robovac_on_sale_for_amazon_big_deal_days/) or s[ee all sales models at once](https://amzn.to/4nt1sJH). (its great at both, to be clear, but it has the best mop of the bunch). I really like the 3i brand, they're not new, they've been making robots for other companies for years. The G10 is stripped down from premium models, but it had the same sweeper>roller design that is so effective on the higher end models. *If you don't want to go with my top recommendation, I also recommend:* If you've got a smaller place, or a place with many floor objects, try a Switchbot. Because they're so small, they can get between chair legs and make a small radius around things. Switchbot just doesn't get enough attention, IMO. Lots of people purchased the [K10+ Pro](https://lifehacker.com/tech/switchbot-k10-plus-robot-vacuum-review) on my recommendation during Prime Day and have posted about how happy they are. The 11 made the tower smaller and improved some other specs, but is mostly the same model. The perfect apartment, studio, or office vac. Performs spectacularly well as a vacuum, particularly given the price and stats, but it is ONLY a vacuum. I, personally, do not enjoy Eufy models, and on the whole, [did not enjoy the E20](https://lifehacker.com/tech/eufys-e20-robot-vacuum-ces-2025). I thought it was clunky and not particularly great at any of the 3 things it was trying to do, but people in this sub LOVE Eufy, so at this price point, if you're so determined, this is the one I'd get. In a similar vein, if you love Roborock, a brand I usually recommend highly, I usually think you should grab the most expensive one you can afford (with some exceptions). In this case, its the Q10 X5+, which is the least expensive RR model with auto empty. |Model|Original Price|Sale Price|Discount| |:-|:-|:-|:-| |[SwitchBot Robot Vacuum K11+](https://www.amazon.com/shop/amandablumstiktok/list/1VV8DEM3PE45Q?ref_=cm_sw_r_cp_ud_aip_sf_list_spv_s_ons_mixed_d_ZETGMH20VCWTGQZB8K55)|399.99|199.99|50%| |[3i G10+ (Extra 5% off code: G10USAVE5)](https://www.amazon.com/shop/amandablumstiktok/list/FVNUE2WZGPL6?ref_=cm_sw_r_cp_ud_aipsflist_DHPS311DEF2TY465HP1G_2)|449.99|229.99|49%| |[eufy Robot Vacuum 3-in-1 E20](https://amzn.to/4oi284o)|449.99|297.49|34%| |[Roborock Q10 X5+](https://amzn.to/4pDZjfb)|499.99|299.99|40%| # [Under $500](https://amzn.to/4o4MPMA) *If I were buying at this price point, I'd get:* The [Eureka J15 Ultra](https://lifehacker.com/tech/eurekas-j15-pro-ultra-robot-vacuum-mop-review) is better than it should be. I loved the sweeper design, it moved debris off hard floors and carpet very effectively and would be my pick for carpet. Rarely got stuck on anything or reported errors, and it was just really reliable. I recommended this model during Prime Day, and got a lot of good feedback from folks who picked it up. *If you don't want to go with my top recommendation, I also recommend:* The Dreame L40 Ultra is a great deal at half off, and I thought it did a great job getting into spaces, but wasn't great at mapping originally when[ I tested it](https://lifehacker.com/tech/dreame-l40-ultra-robot-vacuum-review). But it was a damn good vacuum, and a pretttty ok mop. if you find that take disappointing, at this price point, you're still asking a lot of a robot, so set expectations appropriately. I mention the Ecovacs T30S for the same reason as the Eufy 3-in-1. Altho I found it a bit of a pain to put away attachments each time you wanted to use the handheld, I can see the advantage of having a combo unit instead of separate stick and robot. And, [in my review](https://lifehacker.com/tech/ecovacs-deebot-t30s-combo-review), I did think both did a relatively good job, and the sale on this unit is hard to ignore. *If you're determined to get a Eufy:* Get the X10 Pro Omni. it was the first Eufy in a while [I didn't hate](https://lifehacker.com/tech/eufy-x10-pro-omni-review), it was actually pretty decent. Its a lot more decent at this price point. *If you're determined to get a Roborock:* I liked the Qrevo line, altho I prefer the S8/Saros line for their mops. While the tech feels a little outdated to me, the S5V has a few little upgrades to the suction and the roller design that make it worthwhile at this price. |Model|Original Price|Sale Price|Discount| |:-|:-|:-|:-| |[Eureka J15 Ultra](https://www.amazon.com/shop/amandablumstiktok/list/1E209CQWY09EI?ref_=cm_sw_r_cp_ud_aipsflist_34VHK3G8D2127CHKQD4K_6)|699.99|489.99|30%| |[Dreame L40 Ultra](https://www.amazon.com/shop/amandablumstiktok/list/1I876TQNP7R2I?ref_=cm_sw_r_cp_ud_aipsflist_34VHK3G8D2127CHKQD4K_4)|849.99|419.99|50%| |[Ecovacs T30S COMBO](https://amzn.to/4pxNCqa)|1199.99|449.99|63%| |[Roborock Qrevo S5V](https://amzn.to/48CuYYw)|899.99|499.99|44%| |[eufy X10 Pro Omni, black](https://amzn.to/4pTFKAp)|899.99|499.99|44%| # [Under $750](https://amzn.to/4nypaUV) At this price point, you are going to get some previous flagship, high end models that its reasonable to have high expectations of. *If I were buying at this price point, I'd get:* the 3i P10 Ultra. For a machine that does everything this does, as well as it does? This is the actual steal at this price point. It feels like a new brand, but its not, remember 3i has been making everyone else's robots for years. I'm so impressed w this model line, and I'm not the only one. Google around. *If you don't want to go with my top recommendation, I also recommend:* As a flagship, I thought the Ecovacs X9 Pro Omni [could do better](https://lifehacker.com/tech/ecovacs-deebot-x9-pro-omni-review) with large debris, but overall, was still impressed. What sticks out to me is how good looking it was. But with the price dropped to $700, I'm comfortable recommending it. The extending roller mop was my first to try, and I thought it did a good job as it reached to the wall and under toekicks. *If you're determined to get a Eufy:* I guess the S1 Pro? People in this sub love this model, [I did not](https://lifehacker.com/tech/eufy-omni-s1-pro-robot-vacuum-review), but it wasn't the worst. ::shrug:: *If you're determined to get a Roborock:* This time last year, I thought the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra was the [best unit on the market](https://lifehacker.com/tech/roborock-s8-maxv-ultra-review). A year changes a lot, because there have been so many advancements, but do not mistake that this is still a spectacular vacuum. |Model|Original Price|Sale Price|Discount| |:-|:-|:-|:-| |[3i P10 Ultra (Extra 5% off code: P10USAVE5)](https://www.amazon.com/shop/amandablumstiktok/list/266IAZ1CMQ9SB?ref_=cm_sw_r_cp_ud_aipsflist_DHPS311DEF2TY465HP1G_1)|1099.9|650|59%| |[eufy Robot Vacuum Omni S1 Pro, Black](https://www.amazon.com/shop/amandablumstiktok/list/1KPAGDZB7O3NR?ref_=cm_sw_r_cp_ud_aip_sf_list_spv_s_ons_mixed_d_B8MRYW3W9PVQCC6T59VF)|1499.99|699.99|53%| |[Ecovacs X9 PRO OMNI](https://www.amazon.com/shop/amandablumstiktok/list/2I911B3GQ74BQ?ref_=cm_sw_r_cp_ud_aipsflist_DHPS311DEF2TY465HP1G_4)|1299.99|699.99|46%| |[roborock S8 MaxV Ultra](https://amzn.to/43QFGrG)|1899.99|749.99|58%| # [Under $900](https://amzn.to/4oad9oS) *If I were buying at this price point, I'd get:* I talk about it so much that people here think I'm a paid shill (I'm not) but my dream machine is the [3i S10 Ultra](https://www.amazon.com/shop/amandablumstiktok/list/30BOBXMFSK3WK?ref_=cm_sw_r_cp_ud_aipsflist_DHPS311DEF2TY465HP1G). It has the largest sweeps I've seen, and eats the biggest debris I've seen in a robot, all without getting clogged. It's the best roller mop I've tried (I tried the narwal and the dreame). And.... it has onboard sanitizing and makes its own water so you never have to change out the dirty water or refill it. [Here was my review](https://lifehacker.com/tech/3i-s10-ultra-robot-vacuum-mop-review). Now, that's the good stuff. It also weighs like 50 lbs. It looks like an exhibit at a kids science museum. Some people on here have said it smells mildewy (I haven't experienced that but it makes sense, it IS a dehumidifier, that's how it makes water). You can search for people's impressions and other reviews besides mine, but that's my #1 recco. *If you don't want to go with my top recommendation, I also recommend:* The Dreame L50 Ultra has a noticeable discount, and has many of the charms [I admired in the X50](https://lifehacker.com/tech/dreame-x50-ultra-robot-vacuum-review), like some threshold climbing, some major suction, and hot water cleaning. *If you're determined to get a Roborock:* In this price bracket are both the Roborock Slim, the Qrevo and the CurvX. Here's why I ultimately say, go with the CurvX. With the retracting LIDAR, you're still getting a pretty slim robot (though, of course, not AS slim as the Slim), and for $50 more the Curv/Slim, get the CurvX, which has more suction, hot water washing, etc |Model|Original Price|Sale Price|Discount| |:-|:-|:-|:-| |[Dreame L50 Ultra](https://www.amazon.com/shop/amandablumstiktok/list/1H34OZE61D1JV?ref_=cm_sw_r_cp_ud_aipsflist_34VHK3G8D2127CHKQD4K_3)|1399.99|849.99|39%| |[Roborock Qrevo CurvX](https://amzn.to/48d8bm9)|1499.99|849.99|43%| |[3i S10 Ultra (Extra 5% off code: S10USAVE5)](https://www.amazon.com/shop/amandablumstiktok/list/30BOBXMFSK3WK?ref_=cm_sw_r_cp_ud_aipsflist_DHPS311DEF2TY465HP1G)|1299.9|899.99|31%| # [Over $900](https://amzn.to/48OKBMY) This is where all the heavy hitters fell. My friend K says that the reason I'm trustworthy is that I'm always telling him to not buy things. So let me start here with what I'm NOT recommending, because you'll ask. I know everyone is excited about the Dreame Aqua and the Narwal Flow, but I think there are better roller mops out there, and I didn't feel either was significantly better than similarly priced non roller mops (the 3i S10). I really didn't love the Aqua, it leaked. The Flow was better. But not better than my picks in this category. The Saros Z70 is a fantastical concept I got super excited about, but wasn't great in practice. I haven't tested the X11, so that's my only reason I'm not recommending it. So what I DO recommend: The two models below are both excellent vacuums, mops and all around robots. They are highly comparable and while you could make yourself crazy comparing, stop. You'll be delighted with EITHER. I promise. These are great sale prices. |Model|Original Price|Sale Price|Discount| |:-|:-|:-|:-| |[Dreame X50 ultra](https://www.amazon.com/shop/amandablumstiktok/list/1H34OZE61D1JV?ref_=cm_sw_r_cp_ud_aipsflist_34VHK3G8D2127CHKQD4K_1)|1699.99|999.99|41%| |[Roborock Saros 10R](https://www.amazon.com/shop/amandablumstiktok/list/3QN77VNVN022D?ref_=cm_sw_r_cp_ud_aip_sf_list_spv_s_ons_mixed_d_3GVYP91HJC73QH3A2XK1)|1599.99|999.99|34%| If you're looking for ALL the models on sale for Black Friday, they're [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/RobotVacuums/comments/1p2d4qy). Grab the L40. it's too good a deal not to. [https://www.reddit.com/r/RobotVacuums/comments/1lu7dbu](https://www.reddit.com/r/RobotVacuums/comments/1lu7dbu)
What is the best vacuum for bet hair and hardwood floors I used to have shark and was very happy with the job it did but their app sucks and my vacuums would randomly quit vacuuming on their schedule. I currently have a dreame L40 gen 2 and I am less than satisfied so far I have until April 29th to.return it and I'm thinking of doing so. It seems to push things around on my hard wood floors and when it empties out into the bag on the docking station half the dog hair just plugs up where you connect the bag. Any help would be appreciated. Is roborock would taking a look at? I would buy another shark if it wasn't for the app being a pile. Are there any new vacuums that empty into a bin rather than a bag? I don't need a mop attachment but it would be a plus. Thank you all!
There are actually a few robot vacuums in this price range now that feel surprisingly close to flagship models. Second vote for mova p10 gen2. I got mine not too long ago. It's said that it's the second-generation version of one of mova's most popular models. I compared it with the Dreame L40 Gen 2 and the Roborock Qrevo Edge S5A and I ended up going with it. On paper, it outperformed the other options and it also checked more boxes for you. The 26,000Pa suction is more than enough for pulling cat hair out of my carpets. It also washes the mop pads with hot water and dries them afterward, so it hasn't had any odor issues. As for edge cleaning, it works well with the cat litter in corners. Very occasionally, I might need to touch up a spot by hand. Another practical reason I chose it: it provides with a three-year warranty, while most brands only offer two.
Just picked up a dreame L40 Ultra gen 2 new in box for $200 off one of those bidding sites and ordered the tricut brush, this makes me feel better I did enough research and waited for the right deal lol thanks
Get the L40 ultra certified refurb from Dreames eBay store. It's practically identical to the x40 in cleaning performance only differing in it's battery size. It's on sale right now for $252. You could buy two of them and have one for downstairs and one upstairs if you really wanted to. Pair it with the tricut brush and you won't have to worry about hair tangles. https://www.ebay.com/itm/356930402616 I had an x40 for two years before upgrading to a Mova v50. The x40 was excellent and the v50 isnt really better other than being quieter when on max suction and just quieter overall. I have three cats and my x40 did a great job picking up their hair and avoiding eating their cat toys. Don't put much emphasis into the pascal ratings. They are all bullshit and don't really tell you how well the robots clean. Cleaning performance is a function of alot more variables than just pascals and the way each manufacturer tests isn't comparable. Save your money, get the L40, it will be perfectly fine for your use case. If you really need special features like retracting lidar for better clearance and threshold climbing, check out the Mova V50, it is much better than the L40 gen 2, heck even the old L40 is better than the gen 2 since it has an actual obstacle avoidance system.
The L40 and Mova p10 pro ultra are effectively identical. Same part numbers on the docks. Only difference being that the L40 can leave it's mop pads at the dock. The Dreame x50 is the best out of the ones you listed but it's probably out of your budget. The Roborock s8 pro ultra does not have a camera based obstacle avoidance system and is frankly old tech at this point, would not recommend it. The X40 ultra is possibly the best value out of the bunch it you can get it for $500-$700. Basically identical to the l40 and Mova P10 pro ultra but has longer battery life and slight difference obstacle avoidance sensors but still the l40 and X40 perform better than anything else for the money with regards to object avoidance. Since you have only hardfloors, I still think a roller mop style robot is probably best for you since spinning mop system tend to smear debris around while rollers like the Eufy s1 and E25/e28 always keep the mop clean. If you can get a Eufy e25 within your budget, I would get that, if not I would look at the Dreame l40 or Mova P10 pro ultra, which ever is cheaper.
How much is the Mova p10 pro ultra in your area? Mova is Dreame's sister brand and the p10 pro ultra is identical to the Dreame L40 other than not being able to leave the mop pads at the dock. The L40 is as good as the X40 minus one obstacle avoidance sensor and slightly smaller battery but it performs equally as well but at a lower cost.
Get a Dreame or Mova for best obstacle avoidance. I've owned a Eufy x10, Dreame x40 and Roborock QRevo slim. Out of all of them I rate the Dreame x40 far ahead of the other two with the QRevo slim coming in 2nd and Eufy x10 last I currently have two x40s and their obstacle avoidance is nearly flawless. The robots rarely get stuck or eat cables which lets me run them both daily without having to prep my house or intervene. Roborock in general, really struggles with obstacle avoidance, especially on carpet. The QRevo slim I had for a few weeks before returning it would constantly eat cords and cat toys. Do not go with roborock if you value obstacle avoidance. For your case, I would recommend the Dreame L40 or Mova P10 pro ultra. Mova is Dreame's sister company and the p10 pro ultra is identical to the Dreame L40 other than not being able to leave the mop pads at the base station. And both are very similar to the X40 other than having a slightly smaller battery and slightly different obstacle avoidance sensors while still being as good as obstacle avoidance. The advantage of the L40 and p10 pro ultra is that you are getting X40 level performance but usually around the $500-700 price point.
L40 ultra and P10 pro ultra are identical robots. The QX Revo is significantly worse than both the L40 and P10, especially when it comes to obstacle avoidance and navigation. Keep the L40 Ultra and maybe buy an extended warranty from square trade for it. I usually buy from Dreame/Movas eBay store since buying an extended warranty through there is only like $35-70 extra
Yeah L40 is easily the better robot.
My old L40 and X40 rarely ate cords.
Mova V50 for homes that are primarily carpet. Mova z60 for mostly hard floors. Dreame also makes great robots such as the L40. The l40 ultra goes on sale for around $300-400 frequently, it was one of the flagship robots back in 2024 and it still cleans as well as the flagships today. The Mova p10 pro ultra is also a great option and comes in around $300-400 as well and is identical to the L40. The l20 and l10 from Dreame are really old at this point and aren't great options.
What's your price range? There are the fancy flagships with all their features like threshold climbing, roller mops, multiple mop pads, retracting lidar and made up pressure numbers. I've got a Mova v50 and z60, happy with both of them but had two certified refurbished Dreame X40 ultras before. The x40s were basically flawless even though they were certified refurbs and ran daily on a schedule for over a year and a half before the front wheel broke and sent both in for warranty repairs through the extended warranty that you get with certified refurbs. Both were deemed unrepairable and I got a check for $1000 per robot. I bought my x40s for $800 through eBay. Even with the issues I had, I still recommend the x40, the L40 and the Mova P10 pro ultra 1st gen (identical to the l40, mova is a sister company of Dreame). These bots have flagship level cleaning performance and obstacle avoidance but are just missing the over the top bells and whistles that frankly cause more issues such as battery drain. Right now the certified refurb x40 is on sale through eBay for $319 which is an insanely good price considering it's a 1 year old flagship that performs better than any robot you can get even up.to the $500 price range. https://www.ebay.com/itm/357118449793
Why? Just get the l40 certified refurb from Dreame's eBay store for $300 and don't use the mopping function. You get all the other flagship level features but don't have to use the mop.

Just noticed the Dreame L40 Ultra Gen2. Seems to be better than the L40s Ultra.
I had one in 2018 that basically bounced off of things randomly and never did a particularly great job. But I sweep the floors 2x a day, at least, and hate vacuuming, so I decided to look into them again. I was anxious about a similar experience but the tech is so, so much better now. I got the Dreame Ultra L40 Gen 2. I did some research here and other reviews and decided $500-600 was my limit, as people with the $1k machines still report tech issues that I couldn't tolerate at that price point. I chose this one for the suction, the collision avoidance (toys, other things left out), and the hot water mop pad washing. The first run I was neutral. It cleaned but not as well as my steam mop and cannister vacuum. But I set up a daily cleaning schedule, and the daily cleaning has left my floors noticeably cleaner. It is shocking how dark the water is that I pour out. The genius of these things is the frequency of cleaning. I have about 1200sf downstairs, all tile. I only run it downstairs. It can't quite do the entire floor in one run without recharging for both vacuuming and mopping. I have it programmed to do the kitchen every day, and 2-3 other rooms that rotate. This seems to be working well. All in, with the mop detergent dispenser, it was closer to $600. But it has been such an upgrade and worked nearly flawlessly, it isabsolutely worth it. We've had more rain the last week or so than in the previous months, we're tracking in leaves amd dirt, yet my floors look better than ever. There is a learning curve and the app is laid out awkwardly - it could be much more intuitive. I use the scheduled cleanings to avoid having to mess with the settings every time. I have not figured out how to ask it to simply clean a room, on the fly, outside of scheduled cleanings. As a work around I use the zone cleaning function to do that when needed. The app could really be tightened up and that's the biggest downside imho. It was surprisingly easy to service - you can take apart components to do a deep cleaning, which I like. My hope is it will run 4-5 years before replacement, even if it needs a new battery in that time.
I get each room cleaned at least 2x per week. But it's just based on our lifestyle. I have it do the kitchen every day, which makes a noticeable difference, and the front hall more frequenty too, since thats where leaves and dirt enter. I hit on this mostly so it gets the cleaning done in a reasonable time frame (maybe 1.5 - 2.5 hours) since I work from home. And my floor plan is a bit too large for it to do the while thing especially with more intensive settings.
We got the Dreame L40 ultra gen 2 about 1 month ago. So far so good. Blows Roomba out of the water. App is quite usable and easy to set up.
