"My LDS-only Xiaomi would always get tricked by a floor to ceiling mirror and think there’s a magical place beyond it due to the limitations of LDS. ... My Dreame L40S Pro Ultra (same 110° LDS sensor but with an RGB camera and fill light) was able to accurately tell that the mirror was actually a mirror wall and after cleaning that room, correctly identify it as a wall (the LDS and the RGB camera would fight while it’s cleaning the room over whether or not it’s a wall or a magical portal but it wised up when it finished cleaning that room)."
"The dreame L40S Pro Ultra has much better obstacle avoidance and object detection for smarter cleaning features like stain detection and large particle detection where it’ll slowly mop only or slowly vacuum only and not use the side brush so it won’t be kicked away."
"no issues long term with map and getting lost"

"The AceClean dryboard (its mop pad cleaning tray) on these models is currently the best self cleaning mop tray that can clean its mops as the only maintenance required is to occasionally clean a removable palm-sized drainage filter and wipe down the flat dryboard (no nooks and crannies for dirt to hide)."
"I find that with daily vacuuming first to remove any debris that could scratch the floor, then making it mop (using the vacuum first before mopping setting so the spinning mops won't drag any debris which will scratch your floors), made my wood floor have a nice sheen and noticeably felt softer, and the tiles were always barefoot friendly."
"I think a combo model is well suited for homes with mostly hard floors as the mops can take care of the fine dust that a robot vacuum’s relatively motor can’t pick up. ... It is also a rather nice mopping robot and it cleans its mop pads and mop pad cleaning tray rather well too."

"It's expensive."
Yeah, my observations are identical. We recently started looking at robot vacuums, after we returned our Eufy X10 Pro Omni, and it seemed as if every single model has issues, yes, plural :D We ended up getting the Dreame L40s Pro Ultra and albeit it's doing a pretty good job, it suffers from the issue where it randomly drops its mop pads and I have to re-attach them manually. We worked around this by having the robot not leave them at the station while vacuuming. Oh well.
r/RobotVacuums • Roborock Saros 10R: very poor first impression + what's up with the general state of the robot vacuum market? ->I had the X10 Pro Omni and it was great, but it’s software went downhill after a certain version and the robot became pretty much unusable. I ended up swapping it for a Dreame L40s Pro Ultra and never looked back. Granted, the Dreame was €200 more, but it’s money well spent.
r/RobotVacuums • For the love of God, is there objectively a good robovac choice? ->Our L40s Pro Ultra suffers from the "mop pads random detachment issue". Otherwise, it's a pretty solid choice. Do your research before getting it, though, as you may have to deal with returns / replacements. Contrary to what most people are saying, dealing with Dreame's support has been great - fast and adequate responses.
r/RobotVacuums • Every Prime Day Robovac and Recommendations ->Yup, I feel you. L40s Pro Ultra is a great value for money and the mop pads issue is the only one I’ve encountered so far.
r/RobotVacuums • Every Prime Day Robovac and Recommendations ->https://preview.redd.it/4j6v2r2fwobf1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=90ddd22004c63de163edef0a17211a5aa7fd7397 I’ll let you be the judge😄Currently chatting with Dreame to have it replaced.
r/RobotVacuums • Every Prime Day Robovac and Recommendations ->If you don’t care about possible returns / exchanges, go for it. I just find it super annoying to have to send back both the robot and the station, even if only one of them is problematic, but oh well…
r/RobotVacuums • Every Prime Day Robovac and Recommendations ->We got a Dreame L40s Pro Ultra for 749 EUR and it's been awesome. I was also looking at the Mova V50 (Pro / Ultra / Whatever), but it was about 200 EUR more, so I decided against it. Roborock Saros 10r also seems to get good reviews, but it too is on the more expensive side. P.S. We used to have the Eufy X10 Pro Omni, but their firmware turned out to be complete garbage and we returned it for a full refund.
r/RobotVacuums • Anything better than Eufy E25 for my needs ($800 USD budget)? ->If you are willing to spend, get the Mova V50 Pro Ultra Complete. If not - the Dreame L40s Pro Ultra (brilliant value for money, got ours for about €750).
r/RobotVacuums • Need Real Feedback Before I Drop $$$ – Roborock, Dreame, Ecovacs, Eufy… (or Others) - Help Me Decide ->Get the L40. I explain why here [https://www.reddit.com/r/RobotVacuums/comments/1lr2zgt](https://www.reddit.com/r/RobotVacuums/comments/1lr2zgt)
r/RobotVacuums • Advice on best choice between Dreame L40s Pro Ultra, Roborock Qrevo Edge S5A and Mova P50 Pro Ultra for long hair, borders and angles and dock maintenance. ->Hey mate. I’m in Australia too and doing the same research. My shortlist for this price range is eufy x10 pro Omni at Harvey Norman for $999 or Dreame l10s pro ultra heat $1199 at Amazon. I’m currently determining if it’s worth stepping up to mova p50 pro ultra ($1750) or Dreame L40s pro ultra ($1799) as I have two messy young children and full size single story house for it to look after.
r/RobotVacuums • Purchase recommendations ->I think I have landed on the Dreame L40s pro ultra on sale at JB currently. Seems to have all the features. If you are dead set on cutting roller the mova seems a goer.
r/RobotVacuums • Purchase recommendations ->I have ADHD and cleaning is not one of my passion. I also live by myself so if I don't clean, no one will. Usually I'd clean every weekend or at least I try to lol which means no vacuuming/mopping during the week or over a week. I have 2 cats so their shedded fur, little pieces of litter and the food crumbs were always on the floor. they'll accumulate again after a day so I kinda closed one eye (or both 😂) and ignored them.... so y'all can understand why I really wanted one Coming to a messy home is frustrating and having messy living space doesn't help with my psyche. It was just so difficult to make a decision as every big brands have x variations of the same "model" and they all seem to have similar features.... and most of the official websites don't really offer customer friendly comparison tool. so honestly I didn't know what to buy. After weeks of watching review/test videos on YT, lurking on this subreddit & Vacuum Wars. I decided to get mid-range robot vacuum while there is end of financial year sale (I'm in Australia) and the only way to get over analysis paralysis is to compare directly. My initial budget was around $1200AUD so I shortlisted vacs around that price range and also included ones up to $1500ish if it was highly recommended by the reviewers (that didn't have "paid promotions"). Once I listed all the key features and specs, I highlighted the ones that stands out (top 2-3) and according to this analysis Dreame was the winner. I pondered buying L30 but really liked the extending side brush. I put it to the test as soon as I set it up, and it vacuumed and mopped almost perfectly! The floor hasn't been mopped over 3 weeks so there were some parts that were still not clean after initial vacuum&mop cycle so I ran it again for areas that still needed more rub. The floor is a section of the living room where I had the most foot traffic so I ran 2 cycles.. I really cannot complain how well it did. One thing I didn't realise was that it only has the extending brush on the right side and there's none on the left and it still vacuumed just fine. I've set up 2 daily cycles: vacuum only in the morning and vacuum+mop in the afternoon so the house would always be clean when I come home after work or when I finish wfh. I haven't tried cleaning on the carpet as I'll need to pick things up from the bedroom floor, I'll post an update when I run them in the bedrooms tomorrow or this weekend. I'm so happy that I finally bought one and it's doing a great job!
r/RobotVacuums • Dreame L40S Ultra & my selection criteria ->Yeah it sucks (no pun intended) on carpet, I have to manually hand vacuum carpets myself, luckily I only have a few. Aside from that, everything else is solid.
r/Dreame_Tech • L40s Pro Ultra is absolute disaster on Carpet. ->Any dreame model with a self cleaning mop tray? This would be the Dreame X/L30-40. It’s worked well at cleaning my corgi’s fur balls to the drainage area. The mop extend has worked well mopping his drool from the edges of the rooms where he likes to sleep. You can add any TriCut brush and the cover that prevents hair from going to the side to any Dreame model. It’s worked great at preventing tangles. Roborock Q Revo models are also worth looking at. Only the one with the DuoDivine brush is truly no tangle. The other brushes will have the hair and fur tangled on the sides. I recommend rotating mop models as they are better at cleaning off drool. These two brands are pretty good at obstacle avoidance and cleaning overall. There are roller mop models but Eufy’s ozone generator poses a long term risk in terms of reliability as someone reported ozone generators could degrade the rubber seals. Eureka J20 (Midea’s W20) doesn’t seem to be great at obstacle avoidance either.
r/RobotVacuums • Best Dreame vacuum with pets ->Narwal Freo Z Ultra is the best robot mop but an ok vacuum. It does not have an internal water tank so this means it’ll have to frequently go back to the station to rewet its mops. This shouldn’t be a problem if your house isn’t very big. If it is, consider the other two models with an internal water tank. I’ve also heard mixed reviews about NarWal’s customer service. As for the app, I’m not so sure but I think it’s on par with the other brands (please correct me if I’m wrong). As the robot’s home is behind furniture, I’d recommend a model that has a self cleaning base station. Narwal doesn’t have this but I believe the next two models do. Dreame’s L/X40 has similar computer vision smarts and can extend and swing its extended mop under areas like the fridge where stains tend to accumulate with better vacuuming performance than the Freo Z. There’s currently no other model in the international market that can do this (NarWal’s 001 Max is still only available in mainland China). I’ve heard mixed reactions when it comes to its international customer service. The app is feature rich but means the UI will be more complicated. The QRevo Curv/Edge can also be considered but won’t have as amazing computer vision smarts as the previous two models. However, I heard the app has the best UI and that customer service can be mixed.
r/RobotVacuums • Best robot vacuum for long hair? ->Yes and how well their “self cleaning” base station wash board can clean itself so the dirt is sent into the drainage area to be sucked up into the dirty water tank. When I used mine with a dreame L40 self cleaning tray, I found that hair and too much fur was clinging onto the wipers but did great with household dirt and dust. I was wondering if others had the same issue. This is also why I bought a dreame model with the AceClean system as the drainage holes look big enough to send my dog’s very fine fur into the dirty water tank.
r/RobotVacuums • NEW #1 on the Vacuum Wars Top 20 Best Robot Vacuum List - And Other Updates!! ->I've posted a comment recommending a QRevo C for those in Australia with a strict budget of 1500 AUD and the Dreame L40S Ultra for those looking for flagship performance at a cheaper price of 1999 AUD.
r/RobotVacuums • In Australia, Robot vacuum and mop recommendations for those with pets ->I'd recommend the Roborock Qrevo C, priced at AUD 1,298 at Harvey Norman and the official Roborock website store (I've seen negative reviews of the roborock store in Australia so I'd choose Harvey Norman), which offers Product Care for up to two years. The Dreame L30 Ultra S was considered but ultimately rejected because the QRevo C offered the same functionality at a lower price. Do tap the dust out of the filter once every few cleaning cycles, and clean it once every few weeks. The removable mop tray on the QRevo makes cleaning easy. If you wanted to go above your budget, I'd recommend the Dreame L40S Ultra at 1999 AUD, as its better suited to deal with pet fur for its onboard fur compression feature which means it will use the dustbin more effectively and won't get clogged with fur, with space still present in the dustbin. It will also clean the mop pad's cleaning tray more effectively (less cleaning for you) and can clean its own filter when auto-emptying (the need to clean the filter will be reduced to about once every few weeks, as the need to tap the dust out of the filter is eliminated). It also cleans quieter, which will be helpful for any skittish pets. It can remove mops for rugs.
r/RobotVacuums • In Australia, Robot vacuum and mop recommendations for those with pets ->I’d look more at the Dreame L40S Ultra/Pro Ultra (1999/1799 respectively on JB HIFI). It’ll deal much better with fur since it has the automatic fur compression feature that works as it vacuums so it’s a better choice for homes with pets.
r/RobotVacuums • Need help choosing between 3 robo vac/mops. ->If it helps, the L40 Ultra is positioned as being the more budget friendly flagship as it lacks an RGB camera and only uses structured light as its obstacle avoidance sensors. I’d recommend this if your furry friend won’t poop or vomit and if your toddler won’t make a mess that robots cannot clean like food chunks. Strangely, it’s more expensive than the Dreame L40S Pro Ultra which has an RGB camera. The dreame L40S Pro Ultra has much better obstacle avoidance and object detection for smarter cleaning features like stain detection and large particle detection where it’ll slowly mop only or slowly vacuum only and not use the side brush so it won’t be kicked away. Both models are cheaper than the Roborock models with the same smart features and has good anti-tangling, at least on JB HIFI and Harvey Norman. The Curv is 2297 AUD and the near identical Edge is 2799. If you need more help, feel free to reply mate :)

r/RobotVacuums • Need help choosing between 3 robo vac/mops. ->The Dreame L40S Pro Ultra will be the best priced model if you value self cleaning ability (both the filter and the mop pad tray) and anti tangling. It basically is the dreame X50 Ultra without the ProLeap system and the retracting lidar for £749 in the UK. I misread £ as € sorry :(
r/RobotVacuums • Still robot dilemma [Recommendations requested] ->1. It is closest to the Dreame L50 ultra. It will be able to clean its filter when autoemptying and its mop tray self cleaning is much better. Anti-tangling is also included without needing a TriCut brush as it has the conical antitangle brushes. This model will be best for homes with heavy shedders as it will compress the fur in the dustbin as it vacuums to best utilize the space. 2. I’ve had a dreame made robot for Xiaomi and it’s been going great for 700 hours so far. Remember that online forums will have self selection bias where most will post because they need help or are upset at the product, not because they are happy with it.
r/RobotVacuums • Still robot dilemma [Recommendations requested] ->If your budget is up to 2000 AUD, I’d recommend the Dreame L40S Ultra at 1999 AUD. This is because it’s currently the easiest robot to maintain and empty and is best suited for pet fur and dust. It is a flagship robot at a not so flagship price. 1. Most robot vacuums’ filter easily get clogged by dust. I run mine twice a day in a dusty city (AQI PM2.5 is usually at the high 70s) and I need to tap the dust out of the filter of an older robot at the end of every day. However the new dreame robots (L40S ultra, L40S pro Ultra, and the X50 Ultra) in Australia cleans its own filter when it autoempties. For pet fur: The dual anti-tangle main brushes work great for pet hair and the same models can also compress the fur in the dustbin as it vacuums. I have a heavily shedding corgi and the old robot wouldn’t be able to handle his fur as it’ll be clogged with a lot of empty space on the sides of the dustbin to the point that running it twice a day would mean he wouldn’t shed enough for this to happen. However, the models with the fur compression feature will be able to push any fur to the end of the dustbin and will not be as easily clogged with empty spaces. It can also remove the mop for cleaning the carpets as the mops dragging on the carpets will reduce the carpet cleaning efficiency. For maintaining the mopping part: The AceClean dryboard (its mop pad cleaning tray) on these models is currently the best self cleaning mop tray that can clean its mops as the only maintenance required is to occasionally clean a removable palm-sized drainage filter and wipe down the flat dryboard (no nooks and crannies for dirt to hide). If your budget is 1500 AUD, I’d choose the roborock QRevo C (1298 at Harvey Norman). It has good navigation, coverage, and does well with pet hair tangling around the brushes. However, the maintenance won’t be as hands off. Luckily, the mop pad cleaning tray is completely removable for cleaning. It uses the friction between the mop pads and the nubs to clean the mop giving places for dirt to hide whereas the AceClean dryboard uses water jets to clean the mops like a dishwasher.
r/RobotVacuums • Best Robot Vac & Mop for Dirt Roads + Kids + Ragdoll Cat? ->It has a larger capacity, an RGB camera, a retracting lidar, and the ProLeap system. Get the X50 Ultra if you have a threshold taller than 2.2cm and shorter than 5cm or you need it to enter spaces a robot can enter (it can be 9.8cm tall with the lidar retracted). If you just want the RGB camera for much better obstacle avoidance, more smart cleaning features (automatically remopping and automatically intensively vacuuming), and the ability for it take to take photos of your pet, get the L40S Pro Ultra which is 2299 AUD.
r/RobotVacuums • Best Robot Vac & Mop for Dirt Roads + Kids + Ragdoll Cat? ->If you want it to mop, I’d recommend the L40S Pro Ultra. It does have an RGB camera but it really helps with its obstacle avoidance compared to the L40S Ultra (which seems to be limited to the UK and Australia) which has no RGB camera. It has filter self cleaning when it autoempties, anti-tangle brushes, better fur pickup on carpet, and a live fur compression feature in the dustbin if your cats shed a lot. This is a combo model if this matters to you. I think a combo model is well suited for homes with mostly hard floors as the mops can take care of the fine dust that a robot vacuum’s relatively motor can’t pick up. It is also a rather nice mopping robot and it cleans its mop pads and mop pad cleaning tray rather well too.
r/RobotVacuums • recommendations for self emptying + object avoidance and preferably quiet robot? ->Sorry I meant the L40S Pro Ultra, the L40S ultra is only available in the UK and Australia. The l40 ultra is a completely different model with no filter self cleaning.
r/RobotVacuums • recommendations for self emptying + object avoidance and preferably quiet robot? ->The Dreame L40s Pro Ultra (£799) will be the best budget premium robot vacuum in the UK, as it is essentially an X50 Ultra, if you don't need the threshold-crossing ability or the retracting LIDAR, while being cheaper than the X40 Ultra. Everything else will be the same. It'll have the best self-cleaning ability at the best price due to the AceClean dryboard, which cleans itself much better than the Dreame X/L40 Ultra and the self-cleaning filter in the dustbin (works best if you set it to vacuum first before mopping, as mud won't be in the filter). It's also great for homes with pets that are heavy shedders, as it also has a live fur compression feature that compresses the fur in the dustbin as it vacuums to make the best use of the dustbin's space and mitigates the issue of the dustbin being clogged yet having space on the sides, something only available on the L50 Ultra and the X50 Ultra. It'll pick up fur and hair from carpets better than the Tricut brush, as it has dual rollers. I really liked how it was able to mark my furniture as something it could get stuck on and smartly cleaned around it, instead of trying to climb my coffee table with U-legs, something my LDS-only robot couldn't do (it tried humping it instead). The best budget option will be the [Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2](https://dreamestore.co.uk/products/dreame-l10s-ultra-gen-2-robot-vacuum-and-mop-with-self-cleaning-and-auto-empty). Due to the lack of an RGB camera, the obstacle avoidance won't be as good and wouldn't be as good at self-cleaning compared to the L40s Pro Ultra. If you want it to deal well with pet hair, you'll need to purchase the Tricut brush as well. For the Xiaomi robots, the X20 Pro is a good choice, but obstacle avoidance is the same as the Dreame L10S Ultra Gen 2, and it cannot extend and swing its mop (MopSwing is on for the L10S Ultra Gen 2 in some purchasing regions) like the above choices. It is also compatible with the TriCut brush if needed.
r/RobotVacuums • UK Recommendations ->For people who don’t need the better threshold crossing and retractable lidar, I think it’s a really good option. Shame it’s only in the UK.
r/RobotVacuums • UK Recommendations ->I noticed the dreame L40S Pro Ultra is cheaper than the X40 Ultra but more expensive than the L40 Ultra. I’d recommend the L40S Pro Ultra.
r/RobotVacuums • UK Recommendations ->Oh 😅 If your home has a lot of pet hair, I’d recommend it since it can deal with thicker pet hair that the TriCut brush may not be able to deal with.
r/RobotVacuums • UK Recommendations ->I like how Jamie Andrews tests aspects that are advertised for quality of life (self cleaning the dock and using hot water) whereas vacuumwars simply rattles them off like a sales brief checklist. I can confirm Dreame does reach the advertised hot water temperature listed (I tested myself with an electric thermometer connected to the area on the washboard where the water would flow from the pipes) and it usually hovers at about 5-10°C below the advertised temperature before reaching it for a second or two. Don’t know about the new AceClean dock as I don’t have it but Dreame told me any misplacement of the temperature probes will result in measuring errors of more than 10°C.
r/RobotVacuums • How do we feel about Vacuum Wars ratings? ->Dreame/MOVA models with an RGB camera and Narwal camera enabled models are best at obstacle avoidance. As for hair: dreame/MOVA models with the TriCut brush will do just fine with human hair and pet fur. For longer hair, I’d look at the dreame L/X40 and newer (MOVA P10 Pro Ultra and newer) as the new side brush design is more tangle resistant compared to the previous one. If your pet sheds a lot, I’d recommend the Dreame x50 ultra as it can compress fur in its dustbin as it vacuums. Narwal’s Freo Z Ultra is a good choice for hair and fur too. It has great obstacle avoidance and will have the best smart cleaning program. There is also the LDS-only Freo Z10 which will be able to mop closer to edges and untangle any tangled hair on its side brushes These models all are combo models that mop much better than a swiffer. Upcoming models that will mop better than the previous models: MOVA Z50 Ultra and the Narwal Flow.
r/RobotVacuums • Choosing a car was easier than choosing a robot vacuum ->The Xiaomi X20+ is best suited for smaller homes (<60sqm) as it lacks an onboard water tank and will be less water efficient. The difference in obstacle avoidance between LDS-only models and robots with good obstacle avoidance firmware and an RGB camera with an LED fill light for darker environments is night and day. My LDS-only Xiaomi would always get tricked by a floor to ceiling mirror and think there’s a magical place beyond it due to the limitations of LDS. My Dreame L40S Pro Ultra (same 110° LDS sensor but with an RGB camera and fill light) was able to accurately tell that the mirror was actually a mirror wall and after cleaning that room, correctly identify it as a wall (the LDS and the RGB camera would fight while it’s cleaning the room over whether or not it’s a wall or a magical portal but it wised up when it finished cleaning that room).
r/RobotVacuums • Unstoppable lack of decision ->How tall is the piece of transition? For a single one up to 30mm, the roborock models with the AdaptiLift chassis (the most expensive QRevo Curv/Edge and the Saros line). Anything higher up to 4.2cm, if a threshold is less than 9cm long (5.2cm if it is at least 9cm long), will need the Dreame X50 Ultra or any equivalent MOVA model (V50 Ultra). I am aware that Dreame's L/X50 Ultra and any model (such as MOVA's V50 Ultra or the rare UK-only Dreame L40s Pro Ultra) that uses dual conical brushes has a *live fur compression* feature (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JOOU0uJsVdU), which helps mitigate the issue of pet fur clogging the dustbin, even though the space isn't fully utilized. I saw it in action, and I think it lives up to its claim. It also cleans its filter when auto-emptying. This should be helpful for homes with heavy shedders such as yours\~ For paw prints, I think a robot that can identify messes like this and act accordingly would be important too. Dreame and Narwal do well with this if you turn on certain functions, such as their smart cleaning mode and intelligent mess detection.
r/RobotVacuums • Best vacuum/mop for two dogs who shed a lot ->In Italy, the P50 Pro Ultra costs 899 EUR. The Dreame L40 is at 899 as well. The MOVA is clearly a no-brainer in this case, with a much better AceClean dryboard and a sleeker base station (in my opinion).
r/RobotVacuums • Best price robot with all the technologies included ->It depends on tall your thresholds are: For single thresholds: Up to 2cm: most modern robots can cross with no difficulty Up to 2.2cm: Dreame L/X40 Ultra. The dreame models with the EasyLeap wheels (L40S Ultra/Pro Ultra and the L50 Ultra) can cross the first threshold up to 2.2cm and a secondary threshold right after up to 1.8cm Up to 3cm: roborock models with the AdaptLift chassis. It can cross a single threshold up to 3cm and a secondary threshold right after up to 1cm. Up to 3.5cm: the MOVA P60 Pro Ultra (mainland china only for now) has active suspension like the roborock Adaptlift chassis and the EasyLeap edge climbing wheels to climb a single threshold up to 3.5cm and a secondary threshold up to 3.5cm. Up to 4.2cm: Dreame X50 Ultra, Dreame Aqua 10 Pro Track, and the MOVA V50 Ultra all can cross a single threshold up to 4.2cm if the threshold is shorter than 9-10cm (5.2cm if the threshold is sufficiently long enough) and a secondary threshold up to 1.8cm.
r/RobotVacuums • Best robovac that'll cross thresholds? ->Check out the valetudo project. Otherwise, there are a lot of good robots with no RGB cameras and only structured light. The dreame L40S Ultra (not the L40 Ultra) can be checked out as a structured light flagship model.
r/RobotVacuums • I write about robot vacuums for a living. AMA. ->The Dreame L40S Pro Ultra is a good step up from the L40 Ultra. Better self cleaning of the filter and base station and fur management with the onboard fur compression.
r/RobotVacuums • Replacement suggestions for an L40!! ->For hair, the Dreame X50 Ultra will be much better as it had the automatic fur compression feature that works as it vacuums. If available, the Dreame L40S Ultra/Pro Ultra and the L50 Ultra are cheaper models with this same fur compression feature and lack the ProLeap system which is fine in your home. I also found a life hack for the X50 Ultra where you can change the mop pad holders to be the ones where it has suspension (it can go up 2mm and down 1mm and tilt up to 5°) for more evenly applied pressure for uneven floors.
r/RobotVacuums • Dreame X50 Ultra vs Ecovacs X8 Pro Omni ->What’s your purchasing region (usually country)? this will dictate your available choices. If in the EU, UK, and Australia, I’d go for the L40S Ultra (not the L40 Ultra) as the brushes have been improved to pick up pet hair on carpet. This is a somewhat cost effective combo model. For a vacuum only robot, the roborock Q5 Pro+ or Max+ are popular choices. The Q8 Max+ and Pro+ are also popular and will do better with obstacles.
r/RobotVacuums • Here it goes again ->The dreame X50 Ultra will be the best for self cleaning. It can clean its filter of fine dust when autoemptying since the air from the autoempty station blows through the filter in the opposite direction of the airflow when vacuuming. If not in the US, these models will also have the same self cleaning functionality: Dreame L50 Ultra; Dreame L40S Pro Ultra; Dreame L40S Ultra; and the MOVA V50 Ultra. As far as I know, roborock model has this functionality.
r/RobotVacuums • Help me pick one please for two disabled women ->The dreame X50 Ultra will be the best for self cleaning. As far as I know, roborock model has this functionality.
r/RobotVacuums • Help me pick one please for two disabled women ->Narwal and dreame are the most problem proof with obstacle avoidance. The Narwal Freo Z Ultra fits your needs and so does the Dreame L/X40 Ultra. For cheaper options with not as good obstacle avoidance, you could consider: Dreame L20/L30/L40 If you want it to mop, I recommend connecting the base station to the water line.
r/RobotVacuums • Are there any robot vacuums that can be controlled remotely like a drone with a live camera feed and joystick controls? ->If your cutie patootie is likely to make messes that robots shouldn’t touch (poop, vomit), robots with a good obstacle avoidance software + RGB camera will be best suited but will generally be more expensive. Since golden retrievers shed a lot, I’d recommend the Dreame L40S Pro Ultra at 1999 since it’s basically the dreame X50 ultra if you don’t need it to cross thresholds higher than 2.2cm and need a retracting lidar. I recommend this combo model (and some other dreame/MOVA models) for fur because of the onboard fur compression feature that compresses the fur in the dustbin as it vacuums so it won’t get as clogged as easily. If you want it to mop best, the MOVA z50 ultra is a great choice at 2199 AUD with the best mopping and will be the best roller mop for hair since the comb-shaped scrapers are best suited to deal with hair tangles.
r/RobotVacuums • Help me to choose robot vacuum + Mop ->After daily vacuuming then mopping, my hardwood floors became notably softer and had a shine. I’d recommend robots with roller mops or spinning mops. For roller mop robots, I’d recommend the eufy S1 (Pro), eufy E25/E28, MOVA Z50 Ultra, and the Narwal Flow. All of these robots except for the eufy E25/E28 will have good obstacle avoidance. For spinning mop robots, I’d recommend dreame/MOVA robots with the AceClean/jetspray dryboard, the Narwal Freo line with an all in one base station, the roborock qrevo line. If obstacle avoidance is important, I’d consider the Dreame L40S Pro Ultra, L/X50 Ultra and the Narwal Z/Z10 Ultra.
r/HardWoodFloors • Robot Vacuum Mopping Hardwood? ->You’d definitely want your robot to clean frequently. I run mine twice a day. Dreame L40S Pro Ultra is 1799 at JB HIFI and will clean just as well if there are no thresholds up to 2.4cm. QRevo edge will be better for higher thresholds up to 3cm. However, the MOVA z50 ultra will mop much better than both models.
r/RobotVacuums • Roborock Qrevo Edge for $1999 AUD. Is it worth it? ->The dreame L/X40 are good all around combo models. The eufy models are better suited for mopping.
r/RobotVacuums • L40, X40 or eufy e25 or eufy ->The X40 and L40 are essentially the same. I think the lower rating for the X40’s navigation is due to older firmware and the L40’s firmware is more polished. Just choose whichever model is cheaper. My TriCut brush works as advertised, no hair or fur tangles around it. The S8MaxV’s rollers are more prone to getting fur stuck on the sides and their navigation and obstacle avoidance isn’t as good as Dreame’s.
r/RobotVacuums • Is there a consensus here on the best vacuum cleaner? Dreame X40/L40 Ultra or Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra ->If pet poop and wires aren’t an issue, the MOVA P50 Ultra at 1999 AUD will be the best value buy. It’s basically the MOVA P50 Pro Ultra without an RGB camera. The Dreame L40S Ultra is also at the same price and will be better for pet fur as it can compress the fur in the dust bin as it vacuums and comes with a detangling brush whereas the P50 needs a TriCut brush to be anti-tangling.
r/RobotVacuums • Put me out of my misery ->If threshold crossing and cleaning under furniture with a low clearance isn't necessary, I'd look at the Dreame L40S Pro Ultra at 749 pounds. It's basically the X50 Ultra without the proleap system and the retracting lidar.
r/RobotVacuums • Need vacuum advice! ->The best self cleaning models can also clean the base station’s mop washboard and the vacuum’s filter. I’d recommend these ones which can do this: Currently the best at self cleaning: the MOVA V50 Ultra can dry it’s dustbin and dustbag to prevent mildew unlike the other choices which brings it above the other robots Almost there: Dreame L/X50 Ultra, L40S Ultra/Pro Ultra In the middle: MOVA P50 Pro Ultra Pretty okay at self cleaning: MOVA P10 Pro Ultra, Dreame L/X40, roborock models with the motorized scrapers, Narwal models with an all in one base station.
r/Dreame_Tech • Buy L10s Pro UH or go higher?
->For combo models, dustbin sizes are generally smaller but Dreame’s L40S Ultra/Pro Ultra, and the X50 Ultra’s dustbin is relatively bigger than most at 395ml. It also has a live fur compression feature that will work as the robot vacuums (happens after the first 20sqm is cleaned and once every 40sqm after that) to best use dustbin space. If your groodle doesn’t make any messes that can’t be cleaned like poop/pee/vomit, and obstacles like cables aren’t an issue, the L40S Ultra is a good choice at 1499 AUD. If that is an issue, the L40S Pro Ultra is a good choice at 1799 AUD (only difference is that there’s an RGB camera to help detect these messes). If there are thresholds up to 3cm, Roborock’s Curv/Edge/Saros robots with the AdaptLift feature will be well suited too. If thresholds up to 4-5cm are an issue, the X50 ultra is a good choice.
r/RobotVacuums • Looking for a robot vacuum/mop combo for 100m² home with a hairy Groodle ->That’s the only trade off. The L40S Pro Ultra will do well with hair on carpets though.
r/RobotVacuums • I need a vacuum with supreme de-tangle ->Dreame’s L40S Pro Ultra will have the best self cleaning as it cleans the filter (your filter won’t be as clogged with dust as easy) and the mop pad cleaning tray the best.
r/RobotVacuums • Help me pick my first robovac! Dreame X Eufy X Mova ->\+1 for the Dreame L40s Pro Ultra. Dreame is very good at obstacle avoidance, hair detangling ability is very good on this model, dreame's corner cleaning algorithm is the most aggressive on the market (others like roborock and ecovacs are really sheepish when it comes to extending the side brush), and is really low maintenance (the autoemptying cleans the filter and the mop washboard is the lowest maintenance so far). This was the model I would have suggested as well. I'd recommend checking if visiting Dreame stores in Frankfurt and Munich is possible, as Dreame physical stores tend to offer freebies and better deals. As for mopping, robot vacuum mop combos generally do not apply a significant amount of water when it mops. You can also control the mop's wetness level if you're concerned about excessive water usage. I find that with daily vacuuming first to remove any debris that could scratch the floor, then making it mop (using the vacuum first before mopping setting so the spinning mops won't drag any debris which will scratch your floors), made my wood floor have a nice sheen and noticeably felt softer, and the tiles were always barefoot friendly.
r/RobotVacuums • Opinion on Robot choice ->MOVA's Z50 Ultra is even better than the Eufy S1 Pro at mopping and performs decently with hair as it has a 300mL dustbin and the Dreame Tricut brush, which has worked well in my home with long hair and a long-haired corgi. I'd get this from Harvey Norman (with a protection plan for easy returns/replacement). JB HIFI seems to be harder with returns as users report JB HIFI needing to confirm with the manufacturer. Unfortunately, the good EOFY sale price of about 2000 AUD is now gone and it now sells at 3000 (ouch..), and no official plumbing kit is sold in Australia (get it from aliexpress or Taobao). If there's no threshold taller than 2.2 cm in your home, I'd check out the L40s Pro Ultra, which is essentially the Dreame X50 Ultra without the enhanced threshold crossing and retractable LIDAR. However, the battery life on the X50 Ultra and the L40s Pro Ultra isn't that good compared to the older Dreame models and the MOVA Z50 Ultra... As for food, I'm afraid no robot can sufficiently take care of this without making a mess you have to clean up. But good ones should identify food that isn't crumbs and avoid it, and tell you so in the app. The Narwal Freo Z Ultra will have the best smart cleaning mode and arguably the best robot mopper with spinning mops, but is rather water inefficient for larger homes, so connecting it to your plumbing is basically a must.
r/RobotVacuums • Stuck on what robot to get (AU) ->Sadly, I couldn't find the MOVA z50 Ultra on Amazon, and it seems the only other sales date will be during Black Friday in November :( If you're really insistent on the MOVA Z50 Ultra, I'll ask MOVA about any possible discounts. For the other robots: The Narwal Freo Z Ultra will feature the best smart cleaning mode, allowing for hands-off cleaning without requiring in-depth settings adjustments, thanks to its significantly improved computer vision compared to the Roborock S10R. However, roborock's Saros 10R app is easier to use and there are less disposables than the Narwal Freo Z Ultra's dustbin has a disposable plastic thing, which narwal says means its easier reducing the need to clean, but I think this just makes more waste and is unnecessary if you can give the dusbin a good clean. Go for the Roborock saros 10R for a good app and roborock reliability. Go for the Narwal Freo Z Ultra if you really want AI cleaning that's more than just a shoehorned buzzword.
r/RobotVacuums • Stuck on what robot to get (AU) ->Thanks for sharing! I hypothesize that the X50 Ultra's poor battery life is likely due to the more power-hungry computer chip it utilizes. My own experience with the L40s Pro Ultra (mainland Chinese version) had a *worse battery life* that struggled to finish cleaning my home whereas my much cheaper combo Xiaomi robot (also mainland Chinese version) that has the same battery capacity and is also made by Dreame would be able to vacuum first and then mop my small apartment and finish with 50%. Other reviewers have reported that the L40s Pro Ultra (non-mainland Chinese edition) had a bad battery life, just like me :( Hopefully, this issue will be fixed soon. I hope the Dreame Aqua 10 Pro Track doesn't suffer the same battery life issue, especially because it'll need a more powerful chip to process all the information coming from the HD binocular RGB cameras and the dot projector, and a power-efficient water heater in the robot to heat the water up.
r/RobotVacuums • Prime Day Recommendations by Price Band - These are the robots I'd buy ->Thanks for sharing! r/RobotVacuums • Prime Day Recommendations by Price Band - These are the robots I'd buy ->For a smart combo: Dreame’s L40S Pro Ultra won’t have great battery life (a reviewer found a rate of 3% per square meter) as it uses the same power hungry computer chip as the X50 ultra but the self cleaning capabilities it has (cleaning the dustbin’s filter which most other robots can’t do, and a much better self cleaning mop washboard) with the fur compression feature it has when it vacuums which is great for heavy shedders means it’s worth the tradeoff. If you want better battery life with the same features, the L50 Pro Ultra has a 6400 mah battery like the X50 Ultra. The obstacle avoidance on these two models and the X50 should be the same as the X40 ultra now since it’s pretty mature. For a budget choice, I’d look at Xiaomi’s X20 Pro or the X20 Max. They won’t have as good obstacle avoidance as it only uses structured light but the prices (£399 and £499 respectively) can’t be beat for its quality.
r/RobotVacuums • I am back… I need your advice on a robot vacuum for my home. ->I have a Xiaomi robot made by dreame that uses the same dustbin as the X40 ultra. This is how much fur it gets every morning. https://preview.redd.it/9edw1042217f1.jpeg?width=1600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=923a84c91ae678589d54fe338015c0071d0835ed I’d recommend buying the Z50 Ultra from JB HIFI or Harvey Norman and trying the twice a day routine for a week and see if the fur in the dustbin levels out. I think the suction level above normal suction should be fine. If the robot can’t handle it, I’d change to the X50 ultra or the L40S Pro Ultra.
r/RobotVacuums • Dreame x50 vs Mova Z50 ->If the threshold crossing and retracting lidar doesn’t matter, the L40S Pro Ultra is cheaper at 1799 with a slightly smaller battery at 5200 mah.
r/RobotVacuums • Dreame x50 vs Mova Z50 ->If I were you, I’d spend a bit more for a combo and look for a reliable and good vacuum only model for the top carpet only floor which is generally cheaper than a combo model. I’d also consider the dreame L40S Pro Ultra (£799) is going to be better for heavy fur shedders since it has the onboard fur compression feature which works when it’s vacuuming to best utilize the dustbin’s space that has a volume of 395mL. The dual brushes mean it’s better for fur pickup on carpets but won’t be as good for just vacuuming carpets compared to vacuum only models . The E25 will be better for raw mopping performance which is better suited for homes with more hard floors than carpet. The E25 will also be a good option for the bottom floor. I’d get something like a cheap second hand roomba or a roborock Q5 or Q8 with or without an autoempty station for the upper floor.
r/RobotVacuums • Narrowed my choices down to 3 options - which one do you recommend? ->Both of these models only use structured light so they cannot “see” any spills. Only the L40S Pro Ultra can.
r/Dreame_Tech • L40s ultra VS L30 ultra s (help me decide) ->In Australia, only the L30 Ultra S, the L40S Ultra/Pro Ultra and the X50 Ultra are the new available models. There’s no L50 yet.
r/Dreame_Tech • L40s ultra VS L30 ultra s (help me decide) ->If you have pets or long hair, want a robot that cleans itself better, and have greasy kitchen floors, the L40S Ultra will be a better choice. The L30 Ultra S is a good choice for more carpeted floors since you can use the rubber brush.
r/Dreame_Tech • L40s ultra VS L30 ultra s (help me decide) ->If you want better wet cleaning, I’d choose the MOVA Z50 Ultra over the Ecovacs T80 Omni. If not, the L40S Pro Ultra (the one with the RGB camera, the L40S Ultra has no RGB camera) will have better obstacle avoidance, navigation, better self cleaning, and a better app.
r/RobotVacuums • Dreame L40s Ultra vs Ecovacs T80 Omni ->Yep the L40S Pro Ultra would be a much better choice :)
r/RobotVacuums • Dreame L40s Ultra vs Ecovacs T80 Omni ->I understand the confusion! I also mix up the models in my head too. The L40S Pro Ultra is a X50 ultra in disguise. It just lacks the ProLeap threshold crossing system (fine for homes with no thresholds or thresholds up to 24mm), the retracting lidar for lower clearance, and a smaller battery at 5200mAh.
r/RobotVacuums • The 25 most recommend robot vacuums on Reddit, by price (in the past year as of Jul 2025) ->Sorry for the pricing differences by purchasing region. Check out the L40S Pro Ultra which is a X50 in disguise.
r/RobotVacuums • The 25 most recommend robot vacuums on Reddit, by price (in the past year as of Jul 2025) ->Generally for maintenance you’d need to tap the dust out of the dustbin filter once every few cleaning runs (you need to do it after every run for the first few times using the robot). Youd have to give it a good rinse once every week or every two weeks and let it dry for at least 24 hours You’d also have to wipe down any dust and/or mud once every two weeks or so. Once every month, you’d need to wash the dustbin and let it dry completely for at least 24 hours. To prevent annoying to clean mud, run the robot to vacuum first then mop. The dreame L/X50, the L40S Ultra/Pro Ultra and the MOVA P50S Ultra and the MOVA V50 Ultra can clean their dustbin filter when autoemptying which helps remove the need to tap the dust out of the filter. For combo models with an all in one base station. You’d also have to refill and empty the dirty water tanks (best to rinse them every time you do so) as soon as they get empty or get full and give the dirty water tank a good scrub with dish soap once in a while. Odor can be an issue. I recommend adding a silver ion module to the clean water tank and dirty water tank and a deodorization module to the dirty water tank to reduce needed maintenance and any bacterial biofilm from forming. With these modules, please rinse the dirty water tank’s modules every time you empty it. Please don’t leave the dirty water tank alone for more than 2 days as mold and gross bacteria can grow in there.
r/RobotVacuums • Which robot vacuum fits my situation the best? ->Oh wow that’s a great price then. The x50 ultra is a pretty good choice. There’s also the MOVA V50 ultra which has a basically smaller base station and can dry the dustbin and dustbag which is good at helping prevent mildew and mold growing there if your region is rather humid.
r/RobotVacuums • Which robot vacuum fits my situation the best? ->I’d save my money and go with a dreame L/X40 which retails from 440-680ish if you buy it from their physical store which does free mainland shipping in the us if you place an order via phone/email. You can change the mop pad holders to the flexipress ones which can tilt up to 5° and go up 2mm and down 1mm and use plush mop pads like the roborock Saros or Curv pads which are better for uneven surfaces like your textured tiled floors.
r/RobotVacuums • Best for mopping textured tile floors? ->Will do that now 👀 My l40s pro ultra (mainland Chinese edition) was able to correctly identify the floor to ceiling mirror wall as a wall.
r/RobotVacuums • Mova V50 Ultra: Honest Review ->1. It really depends on your purchasing region. Costco is a popular choice given its generous return policy but choices are rather limited compared to buying from Amazon which has an easy return policy within 30 days. For other purchasing regions, buying from a reputable retailer with a good return policy and an optional protection plan would be good. In Australia, I heard Harvey Norman is nicer with returns compared to JB HIFI. 2. The robots with the best self cleaning will be Dreame’s L/X50 Ultra/L40S Ultra/Pro Ultra and MOVA’s V50 Ultra P50S Ultra > MOVA’s P50 Ultra/ Pro Ultra > Roborock’s models that have spinning mops with the Multifunctional Dock 3.0 (roborock models with a vibrating mop have a washboard that is more difficult to clean as you can’t remove it) ≈ Narwal Freo models (completely detachable base) > Dreame’s models with the mop-driven wiper mop washboard (cleaning the wiper washboard is rather difficult since there’s too many nooks and crannies and you’d still have to get down to clean the areas the wipers can’t reach) > other combo robots with an all in one base station As for combo robots with roller mops and have an all in one base station, the washboard is generally flat with a few grooves so it’s pretty easy to clean. I believe most of their washboards are removable. However, it’ll require more cleaning in the mop compartment and dirty water tank. Most roller mop models have an annoying cylindrical component which drives the roller mop like an upright wet dry vacuum but you can’t remove or move it to give it a deeper clean even if gunk is stuck on it. The only combos that are close to the level of self cleaning for spinning mop models are Dreame’s Aqua 10 Pro track, the MOVA Z50 Ultra, and the Narwal Flow since both have self-cleaning mechanisms that are made to also clean the dirty water tank and the mop compartment while also having a very easy to clean mop compartment since the thing that moves the mops is also completely removable. If you want to support a US startup, you could look at the Matic since it’s a vacuum and mop robot but taking care of it looks rather easy since it lacks a base station. The maintenance involved is replacing the bag, refilling the water with a cleaning solution of choice, occasionally cleaning the roller mop, the roller mop filter, cleaning the brush roller and de clogging the mop tubes if needed.
r/RobotVacuums • What generally goes wrong in a vacuum+mop+cleaning robot? What to watch out for? ->The L40S Ultra only has structured light for obstacle avoidance which won’t avoid cords. For those wanting a combo robot that does well with heavily shedding pets, I generally recommend the Dreame/MOVA models for their fur compression feature. I have a long haired corgi and it works as advertised. I swear the MOVA V50 ultra was at 949 on Amazon once but I’d wait for a sale. MOVA sent me their V50 Ultra to review. Do also check out the L50 Pro ultra and the X50 Ultra.
r/RobotVacuums • Another recommendation ask ->I’d check out the dreame l40s ultra! I remember it was at 1499 and it works with the dreame plumbing kit (super cheap on AliExpress or Taobao). The antitangle dual main brushes and the fur compression does wonders if your pets shed a lot :)
r/RobotVacuums • Any recommendation for Aus? ->Out of the three models you’ve mentioned only the X50 ultra is a very current robot with the other two being lady generation or older models. I’d recommend dreame robots over roborock models if you believe a robot avoiding poop and cords is very important. Since you’ve mentionea there's a lot of fur being shed, I'd recommend the Dreame X50 ultra or the cheaper L50 Ultra/L40S Pro Ultra if you don't have thresholds taller than 2.2cm in your home. These robots will deliver much more at a price similar to or lower than the other robots you’re considering. These robots have a rather sizeable dustbin at 395mL with a fur compression that works as it vacuums so it won't get as easily clogged. These robots will also be the most hands off when it comes to taking care of them. Especially because any fur caught on the mops will be collected in a removable drain filter instead of being stuck on the cleaning nubs for robots like the QRevo Max V (I have a robot that uses a mop washboard similar to the QRevo MaxV and so much fur catches onto the nubs and is a hassle to clean). The dreame models I’ve mentioned have a very easy to clean mop washboard as there are basically no nooks and crannies for dirt and fur to hide and you’d only need to occasionally wipe it down with a wet wipe. As for drool mopping, all three will work well for this.
r/RobotVacuums • Best vacuum+mop Norway? ->The dreame models from the L/X40 ultra and newer generally have better obstacle avoidance than roborock. There’s the L50 Ultra or the L40S Pro Ultra available in Norway which is cheaper and performs just as well as the X50 Ultra. The L40S Pro Ultra is at 9990 NOK and the L50 Ultra is at 11490 NOK. The L40S Pro Ultra will do much better with fur and avoiding poop than the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra which is also at the same price.
r/RobotVacuums • Best vacuum+mop Norway? ->You could check out the dreame l40s ultra then. It has basically all the features of the l40s pro ultra (mop removal, extending mop and side brush, and hot water mop washing) without the RGB camera. I think it was 1499 at JB HIFI or Harvey Norman. Australian consumer law guarantees that you are entitled to a refund, repair, or replacement of your robot in case something goes wrong. As such I’ve updated my recommendations and no longer recommend buying a protection plan from a retailer :)
r/RobotVacuums • Is hot water mop washing worth it? ->The dreame L40 is a de facto flagship with much better obstacle avoidance mainly because of the better software and the fact it has an RGB camera. The edge and corner cleaning is also much better. The roborock S7 max ultra only has structured light so obstacle avoidance won’t be as good.
r/RobotVacuums • First robot vacuum purchase, any strong opinions on these two options? ->Hi ask in r/robotvacuums for less biased responses. I found that the dreame and MOVA models with the dual conical anti tangle rollers will be best for heavy shedding pets as it has the live fur compression feature that compresses fur in the dustbin as it vacuums which means it won’t get clogged up with fur in both the brush compartment and the dustbin nearly as quickly and can use the dustbin space more effectively. Models with this feature are the dreame L40S Pro Ultra, L40S Ultra, X/L50 Ultra and the MOVA V50 Ultra.
r/ecovacs • Best ecovac for dog hair (auto empty when full) ->The problem with generative AI, even with the research function, is that the information is woefully outdated and often hallucinates things that don't exist. You want these features: >Good object avoidance (chairs, socks, cables, etc.) But the models the generative AI seems to have found for you will not do well in avoiding cables and socks. This is because they all only use structured light sensors, which are not well-suited for this. Only robots with an RGB camera, an LED fill light, and good obstacle avoidance software. If you tidy those up, then the MOVA P50 Ultra at 549 euros ( [https://de.mova.tech/products/mova-p50-ultra-robot-vacuum](https://de.mova.tech/products/mova-p50-ultra-robot-vacuum) ) is a good choice. Actual obstacle avoidance comes with a higher price tag in more expensive models like the Dreame L40 Ultra AE at 609 euros (German Dreame website). >**Goal**: **Maximum automation** – no daily involvement (vacuuming, mopping, cleaning the mop, drying, edge cleaning) Robot at this price range will need more attention than those with better self cleaning features, such as tapping the dust out of the filter out once every few cleaning runs (recommended to do once after every cleaning run when first using it) rinsing the dustbin and filter and wiping the robot clean once every two weeks or so, refilling and emptying the dirty water tanks, cleaning the mop washboard as needed. The Dreame L40 Ultra AE at 609 euros will have some sort of mop washboard self-cleaning, but it is rather annoying to clean with too many nooks and crannies for my liking, and the wipers like to drag hair around the washboard. If you tidy the cables and socks up, the MOVA P50 Ultra will have the best self-cleaning mop washboard since there are barely any nooks and crannies, and you can get the robot to clean its own washboard by pressing a button in the app. You'd still need to tap the dust out of the filter after every few cleaning runs, occasionally wipe the washboard down and the area under the filter, and rinse the palm-sized removable filter, which stops hair and large debris from entering. If you want the robot to clean its filter when auto-emptying, the Dreame L40s Pro Ultra is the cheapest model I've found that can do this. But it's at 769 ( [https://de.dreametech.com/products/dreame-l40s-pro-ultra-schwarz-saugroboter](https://de.dreametech.com/products/dreame-l40s-pro-ultra-schwarz-saugroboter) ) Maintenance tips: 1. Run the robot to vacuum first, then mop to mitigate difficult-to-clean mud buildup in the dustbin, filter, and brush compartment. It'll have less gross stuff in the brush compartment when you clean it. 2. The dirty water tank can stink, but the Dreame or Roborock dirty water deodorization module helps a lot in keeping the tank from smelling in between emptying. Do rinse and clean the dirty water tank with dish soap once every two weeks or so. Do rinse the deodorization modules and the dirty water tank when emptying the dirty water tank. Dreame one supposedly lasts longer, at 6 months, and the roborock lasts about 3 months. I also added a silver ion module to both clean and dirty water tanks to avoid any bacterial biofilm buildup. 3. If getting a model that can't clean its own filter, I put in cut-out pieces of air conditioner pre-filter sheets that fit just on the filter, which barely impede airflow for the vacuum. This will act as a robot prefilter and you won't need to tap the dust out of the filter as often and simply throw away the prefilter sheet and replace it with a new one.
r/RobotVacuums • Best robot vacuum+ mop under €600 for full automation? ->The dreame X50 ultra, L50 Ultra (not the L50 Pro ultra), MOVA V50 ultra, and the MOVA P50S Ultra (not the P50 Pro ultra) should definitely cross this with no issues. Most dreame/MOVA robots, even without special threshold crossing abilities, have pretty good threshold crossing abilities. You could also look at the Dreame L40S Ultra/Pro Ultra or the L50 Pro Ultra with the EasyLeap additional pair of wheels that are made to climb thresholds like this (they’re shaped like a windmill or shuriken to better grip onto ledges). The roborock models with the Adaptlift feature should be able to cross this just fine. Other robots can cross a threshold of 2cm with no issues but that assumes the thresholds are smooth with no grooves. No clue about them crossing this kind of threshold though.
r/RobotVacuums • Most capable robot vacuum that can handle sliding door tracks thresholds? ->Why not L40S Ultra?
r/RobotVacuums • Dreame L40 Ultra, Dreame X40 Ultra Complete or Mova P50 Pro Ultra (and perhaps Ecovacs T80)? ->Significantly better tangle free brushes, Ace-Clean Self Cleanung Board, more suction, better obstacle avoidance. I would say for 50 more its the better deal Its basically an L50 without the lidar retracting feature. You could also say its a P50 Pro Ultra with better brushes and the Dreame base station with water hookup option.
r/RobotVacuums • Dreame L40 Ultra, Dreame X40 Ultra Complete or Mova P50 Pro Ultra (and perhaps Ecovacs T80)? ->I've used the Dreame L40s Pro Ultra for a while, and I agree it's a solid choice for what you're seeking, especially with the AceClean dryboard feature. It does an excellent job with pet hair and tackles hardwood floors effectively. You might also want to consider the Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2 if the budget is tighter; it's slightly less refined without the RGB camera but still performs well. For even more in-depth insights on robot vacuums, ConsumerRating has some great comparisons and reviews that might help tailor your decision to your needs.
r/RobotVacuums • UK Recommendations ->Owned my 1st ever robot vac-mop for 3 weeks, due to disability mainly tiled & wood laminated floors & a couple of area rugs. I was very confused by all the marketing hype. Bought the Dreame L40S Ultra. Aust. doesn’t have the variety available elsewhere. I’m very happy with the L40S Ultra so far. If you can afford the Dreame 50 model why not? Have a fabulous morning, afternoon or evening 🐨🦘🇦🇺
r/RobotVacuums • Dreame L40 Ultra down to $470 – is it worth it or should I go for the L50 Ultra at $1,099? ->Hi abt a month ago was in the exact same position looking @ Robot vac-mops, Youtube vlogs, store visits all gave me a jumbled opinion of which type, where, why & whatfor, ended up with a headache. Turned to Reddit, got some advice & it’s 3 weeks tomorrow I picked up my very 1st robot vac-mop. Mine was bought to assist a disability. Imho I ruled out all the robots that have a half moon mop pad (due to my disability), then looked @ spinning mops v roller mops. It really is up to yr own requirements. Everything manufactured generally has a few “duds” that slip through. I’ve only used mine twice as there’s not much foot traffic, floors are tiled or wood laminate flooring & a couple of area rugs. So far so good, having said that I paid for the retailer to cover the robot vac-mop for 5 years of gold concierge service. The Dreame L40S Ultra is good for me, but everything has issues, houses, cars etc.,it’s a just life. I didn’t want a dark robot sitting in my home, white blends in much better with the grey marbled tiles. If yr in the US you’ll have a much greater range to choose from than I did, good luck. Best wishes from Australia 🦘🐨🇦🇺💐
r/RobotVacuums • For the love of God, is there objectively a good robovac choice? ->Have collected my 1st ever robot vac-mop. A firmware update released 2 hours prior to store pick-up was a positive. The robot set up was fine, the App was a tad finicky. It’s plugged in & charging, even though I set to charge during off peak (hope this is a one off)‼️ No floor mapping done yet due to low battery. Be an interesting learning curve. Thx to those that gave advice whilst I was mesmerised by what is & isn’t available in Australia.
r/RobotVacuums • Dreame L40S Ultra ->Thank you, it was an intriguing experience, the robot whilst trying to connect to the modem knocked it to “infinity & beyond” then inadvertently joined the solar WIFI inverter (don’t ask LOL) 🤦♀️.
r/RobotVacuums • Dreame L40S Ultra ->Hi thx for asking, had no issues thus far. I did what someone suggested instead of sending the vac-mop off to do “a mapping only” run, which is a waste of electricity & time imo too now. I did the 1st of 3 runs with my selection/s. 4th time I put on “clean genius”, but you still have the ability to control water temp, drying time etc. Husband didn’t want (he’s extremely cynical) a robot vac-mop & was quite adamant it wouldn’t do as good a job of a manual vac followed by a mop. Unfortunately my health had to come 1st so I invested in a vac-mop. Everything has gone to plan. I did have an initial question why the vac-mop would go past the docking station when completed, it’s apparently to do with straight lines/lidar & where the base station is located. The robot has to do a “hard right turn”, so it goes past the base a little way & turns around does a slight left & docks. I always remove the dirty water & clean the tank not long after the mop washing or drying routine. Hubby is amazed @ how clean the floors are. As you can see we have light grey marbled tiles that are not totally flat with dark grey grout (deliberately picked a darker grout 1. to make the tiles standout & 2. Didn’t want to spend hours scrubbing a lighter grout). The other floors are wood laminate & a few area rugs. I just couldn’t see the value for money on the 50 Ultra. If you want the machine to have mop solution on the mop pads, you can add to the clean water tank. So far I’ve just let the mop prep wetting pads do the job (robot returns to base a couple of times to empty & clean the pads) during a cleaning session. I did take out a 5 year additional retailer warranty to err on the side of caution. I also managed to buy the Dreame mop solution, replacement rollers, side brushes, dust bags & air filters fr AliExpress cheaper than if I drove to the local retailer. The only thing I do to ensure it does a great job, is wipe behind the doors before the mop sets off & use rubber door stops to keep said doors open whilst “Razzie” (robot’s Aussie nickname) does her thing. Hope this helps you a little. Take care.
r/RobotVacuums • Dreame L40S Ultra ->Hi I’ve only just jumped into robot vac-mops 1 month ago due to disability. If you’ve been researching, watching YouTube vlogs & chatting anywhere people are split (I ended up with a headache). I chatted with a particular Redditor having 2 options in mind & a budget. Hubby was dead against getting a robot @ all. I decided for our situation the Dreame L40S Ultra & 5 year warranty fr the retailer. (every country has slightly different names). I live Downunder & there’s not as much choice. Bought on 12th August it’s done more than I imagined it could do. My husband is very cautious & critical of everything. After the robot’s 3rd run, he exclaimed “I can’t believe how clean the floors are”, changing his mimd completely & that doesn’t happen very often. Go with yr instinct. Amazon has a 30 day return policy, keep the packaging & return if you find it’s not for you. As with anything or situation; no-one or item can please all the people all of the time, only some of the people, some of the time. Any manufacturer misses the occasional dud, it’s unfortunate but true. Good luck whatever you decide. Best wishes from Australia 🦘🐨🇦🇺💐
r/RobotVacuums • Are robot vacuum's worth it? ->Sometimes newer lower series can be better than old high series. And the name schemes make it even worse. The L40S pro ultra is much better than the L40 ultra for example. Little differences in the reference can sometimes mean completely diferent products.
r/RobotVacuums • Am I choosing correctly? ->I went with the L40s Pro Ultra for 600 euros. Had all the features from cleaning the mop, high temperature, good battery, drying at high temperatures, extended arm for cleaning, no hair entanglement, detergent dosage and water swap and refill. Overall a nice machine with low maintenance which I was looking for.
r/RobotVacuums • Ok I made a spreadsheet with Vacuum Wars data ->We got the Dreame L40s Pro Ultra a few weeks ago - our first robot vacuum - and really love it. Of course it leaves some crumbs and pet hair lying around, but generally the house is cleaner now because we let it run almost daily. We are still in the phase where it's fun figuring out how to get it to clean some corners it usually neglects.
r/RobotVacuums • Are robot vacuum's worth it? ->Dream L40S Pro Ultra, L50 OR X50 all have a great dual anti tangle brush and self cleaning base with hair compression. Mop is not as good as roller mops but since you want low maintenance and not best mopping these are your best options. Just dont expect good performance on high pile carpets.
r/RobotVacuums • I need a vacuum with supreme de-tangle ->If you’ve got a smaller 2-bed unit with mostly hard floors, the **L30 Ultra S is more than enough** — same core cleaning tech, and still supports auto-empty and mop washing. You’ll just miss out on some of the extra automation and FlexiArm coverage. ✅ Go L40S Ultra **if**: * You’ve got pets or long hair (dual brushes help a ton) * You want the best self-cleaning + dock functions * You care about that extra edge mopping with FlexiArm Otherwise, save the $250 AUD — L30 Ultra S will still crush daily cleaning.
r/Dreame_Tech • L40s ultra VS L30 ultra s (help me decide) ->If you’re mostly on hardwood with just a couple of small door-way rugs, you don’t need the top-of-the-line X50 — any of Dreame’s mid-range models will handle that mix with ease. Here’s what I’d suggest: 1. **L40 Ultra** * **Why**: Great all-in-one suction + mop for hard floors, auto-empty dock, reliable 3D obstacle avoidance. * **Rugs**: It’ll detect and boost on those small mats (just mark them as “carpet” in the app so it doesn’t try to mop them). * **Price**: Falls in the sweet-spot for performance vs cost. 2. **L40S Ultra** * **Why**: Same core as the L40 Ultra but adds hot-water mop wash and onboard detergent module. * **Bonus**: If you want a deeper floor-wash every so often, this makes it effortless. 3. **X40 Ultra** (only if…) * You really care about the AI-camera obstacle avoidance (for cluttered homes, pet accidents, cables, etc.). * Otherwise you’ll be over-paying for a camera you won’t need on mostly open, hard-floor spaces. **What to do in the app**: * **Room setup**: Label your rugs as “carpet” so the bot knows to vacuum only. * **Cleaning sequence**: Create a two-step routine—first vacuum (Max), then mop—so you don’t mop over loose debris. That combo will give you spotless hardwood and tidy little rugs without the premium of the flagship models.
r/Dreame_Tech • Which model for hard wood floors and few door rugs ->Yep you’ve already got one of the most balanced bots Dreame has made. The pop-out edge brush on the newer models does help on baseboards and chair legs, but it’s not game-changing unless edges are your #1 complaint. Suction numbers look wild on paper, but in real life the jump isn’t double the clean—it’s more about handling heavy rugs and deeper pile. Twin rollers are a bit nicer if you’ve got pets that shed a ton, otherwise your single rubber roller is fine. Hot water mop washing does leave pads fresher, but for day-to-day floors cold water isn’t holding you back. If you’re happy now, I’d ride the L10s a while longer. The “worth it” upgrades really only show up if you’ve got tricky rugs, a lot of pet hair, or you want every edge spotless.
r/Dreame_Tech • Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2 vs newer models – are the upgrades really worth it? ->Honestly, the L10s Ultra Gen 2 still holds up really well against the newer models — most of the upgrades are more about refinement than night-and-day differences. A few notes: * **Edge cleaning brush**: The pop-out brush on the L40/X40 does help in certain layouts, but it’s not magic. If your home has lots of obstacles and shorter wall runs, you’ll still see some misses. * **Suction**: The jump from \~11kPa to \~22kPa sounds massive, but in everyday cleaning the improvement is more modest — especially on hard floors where the L10s already does fine. It’s most noticeable on thicker carpets. * **Brushes**: Twin rollers are genuinely helpful for pets. They grab more hair and are less prone to tangles compared to the single roller, so that’s the biggest dog-owner benefit. * **Hot water washing**: Nice to have, but not a deal-breaker. It keeps mop pads fresher and helps with greasy messes, but cold wash + detergent tablets still does a solid job. If your L10s is already keeping up with your home, you’re not missing anything critical. The upgrade is worth it mostly if you want **less hair hassle** or if you have lots of carpet where stronger suction pays off. Otherwise, you’re in a good spot sticking with the L10s.
r/Dreame_Tech • Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2 vs newer models – are the upgrades really worth it? ->My parents have had this model since Prime Day here in Canada. I think it's a solid model with the caveat their house is insanely free of obstacles like cords so I can't say how well it would do with that by not having the cameras for the "AI" obstacle avoidance. They have basically one cord that it has to deal with under a bed. Their house is pretty good with furniture type and layout so it's basically an ideal real world scenario for robot vacs. Only weird thing is it wouldn't clean this shag rug type rug they had under a coffee table even though my robot cleans the exact same style rug (they were bought at the same time years ago) in my house. it's light coloured and isn't that high so I don't know why it would look to avoid it. I simply took the rug out for them as it isn't needed for that area now. In terms of its mapping/cleaning pattern, I feel it is tighter than the Mova P10 Pro Ultra that I have in my house. I also really like the ability to leave the mop pads when vacuuming. I wish mine had that.
r/RobotVacuums • Dreame L40S Ultra ->The L40s Ultra has just arrived from Amazon for testing. 1st impressions are: * Much quieter than the L10S * Seems more precise at navigating in its edge cleaning and stays closer to the edges than the L10S * Quieter dock cleaning and emptying * Problem when I asked in to vac then mop using the 'CleanGenius' for some reason it thought it was mopping the carpet, even though it had lifted the mop pad up and they weren't spinning it contiuned to go over the whole carpet as if it were mopping, which also showed up in the app. I will be doing some more testing before decided which to keep, and there is a firmware update which I have not yet run.
r/Dreame_Tech • Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2 vs newer models – are the upgrades really worth it? ->Got the same one in NZ too! Great robot, just make sure to pick up cables and small objects that can get stuck beforehand. It does lack a bit of obstacle avoidance like socks and whatnot but furniture wise it does a great job!
r/RobotVacuums • Dreame L40S Ultra ->They are the same company sharing basically everything. Even though the P50 is better than the L40s, I’d say to just avoid the P50 for now because of the front wheel issue. Amazon units in North American keep arriving broken
r/RobotVacuums • Please help me decide Mova V Dreame ->Dual brushes are supposed to be better at picking up hair, in my testing I haven’t noticed much of a difference. Just a dad also says he doesn’t notice a difference either. The swing out brush arm will get your edges and corners better yes. Depends on which L40 you’re talking about. If you’re happy with what you got why bother ?
r/Dreame_Tech • Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2 vs newer models – are the upgrades really worth it? ->I've had a Dreame L40s pro ultra for a week... nothing to say for now... great car... it has everything...
r/RobotVacuums • Are robot vacuum's worth it? ->Dreame all the way. Way more polished app, and firmwares, no issues long term with map and getting lost etc which ecovacs has a long history record on that .
r/RobotVacuums • Dreame L40s Ultra vs Ecovacs T80 Omni ->IMO avoid ecovacs, they have tons of app and navigation issues. There a hundreds of posts on Reddit about it and they have really bad track record of it. On vacuumwars is the number one because they test it for half a day and then it goes to the closet and onto the next vacuum, hence that YouTuber is barely a starting point. E25 has no mop only option which for several people is crucial, the vacuum rollers get the dirt stick to them, they suck humidity and the hepa filter gets clogged easier, etc. Master has no antitangling rollers I would recommend Mova Z50 with mopping roller or V50 with a bit more effective antitangling vacuum roller but has spinning pads. On Roborock QRevo Curv or Edge are sweet spot of value on their lineup, spinning pads and excellent antitangling. For Dreame probably the L40s Pro ultra is a good not so expensive option. For Narwal Z Freo Ultra they have really good spinning pads applying good pressure on the floor and the vacuum roller is excellent anti tangling. The only con for me is the lack of onboard water tank which makes it go back often to the station.
r/RobotVacuums • How do I choose which robovac to buy?! ->Go for l10s pro uh bro. Its awesomeeeeeeee. Others are good as well higher ones. Depends on your budget
r/Dreame_Tech • Buy L10s Pro UH or go higher? ->There is new L40 ultra ver 2 without mop problem (like on mine) and more suction. It is also cheaper. There is new L50 ultra also available.
r/Dreame_Tech • L40s ultra VS L30 ultra s (help me decide) ->Paid €1280 in January for the L40. After just 500 sqm of cleaning, I’ve been waiting for over a month now for it to be returned, and I still don’t know if they’ll fix the mop attachment issue. Now it’s selling for €500. I won’t be buying anything from Dreame again for a while. Honestly, I’m much closer to just hiring a full-time maid from the Philippines — and that would cost me around €700–800 per month. My wife still objects, though.
r/RobotVacuums • If money wasn’t an issue, what’s the best robot vacuum right now? ->I bought the Qrevo Master with the 2 rollers and returned it because immediately after using it the spindles were badly wrapped in dog hair (golden retriever, 2 cats), way worse than my OG Qrevo ever was. Bought the Qrevo Edge with the duo divide and I haven’t had any hair left on the rollers in the 3 weeks I’ve had it and the pickup is better also. No brainer.
r/Roborock • Duo Divide roller or Dual roller better for long haired dogs and people? Tired of cleaning tangles out of the roller of my old s5. Also what has the biggest/best emptying dustbin? Thanks in advance. ->Nope, the q5pro /max does have the duo roller that reduces hair tangle, however long hair will still tangle around the ends of them and eventually stop them from spinning. This happens every third run if i don't clear them after the second run. The Dreame/Mova uses their "Hyper-stream duo brush" which pushes the hair out to one end of the roller where it gets sucked into the bin. Roborock duo-divide brush does the same but with a single roller plit into two. This design is not as good for vacuuming as the dreame solution.
r/RobotVacuums • Moav Z60 Ultra - initial look ->No worries, there are so many different brush designs available now it's hard to keep track. I'm waiting for Dreame/Mova to put the Hyper-stream duo in a cheaper, vacuum focused robot without a mop, and maybe a bag dock. Around €300-500 would be good to compete with the q5pro
r/RobotVacuums • Moav Z60 Ultra - initial look ->For crevices, you need a robot with a bristle main brush. Dreame L series and Mova usually use rubber brushes, which, according to reviewers on YT, don't pick up dust in crevices well unlike bristle ones. Some Roborock model like Q5 Pro, Q8 Max, Qrevo S, and QV35A/S also uses a similar brush. I think if you don't mind with prices, E28 or E25 is a good candidate because its roller mop is superior. Roborock also has a new lineup called S5A which is the cheaper version of Qrevo Edge. Now it's $899 on Amazon. S5A uses a similar Duo Divide split brush as in Qrevo Edge and Eufy E28, a self-empty station, and obstacle avoidance but only using structured light without a live camera.
r/RobotVacuums • I just want the best robo vac available and the research is killing me ->The most effective anti-tangle for robot vacuum now is the conical brush, currently only available in Dreame, Mova, and Narwhal. I would recommend you Dreame or Mova because they use dual contra-rotating conical brushes (similar principle to iRobot Roomba AeroForce), which are known for better carpet agitation. Also, Dreame/Mova obstacle detection and avoidance is much refined than Roborock. Or you could try Matic, which has better camera resolution and a stronger AI model than any current smart robot vacuum on the market. But Matic is very tall and bulky so it won't be able to go under your low furniture. Btw, Mova is Dreame's sub-brand selling a cheaper and competitive version of Dreame's expensive lineup.
r/Roborock • Robo vacuum worth it? ->I recently got a Dreame L40 and really like it. It can leave the mop pads at the dock, which is a really useful feature if you have indoor cats. You can set it to vacuum first, then return to the dock to pick up the mop pads so it's not dragging them all over with bits of litter stuck to the pads.
r/RobotVacuums • Choosing a robovac for a housewarming present. Any suggestions? ->Vslam is pretty outdated i hated how mine just ran into everything, scratching appliances. I upgraded to the dreame L40. the navigation is so much better, but i am returning it and switching to roborock
r/RobotVacuums • Roomba j7 soured me on robot vacuums. Is it time to try again? ->Hello Amandainpdx! I’m deciding between: 1) Dreame L40 And 2) 3i P10 Ultra I would go with your recommendation for the Dreame, but it’s not Prime shipping. And I have 2 dogs, and not sure what they will think of it. With the 3i P10 Ultra being Prime with free returns, so you think this makes better sense? Thanks in advance!
r/RobotVacuums • Prime Day last chance- a few hours left to score PD deals. Are you on the fence? Let's cut through it. ->I totally agree. I'm not doubting his integrity but there is something amiss. I own the L40, and the L20 Ultra and both are really not good on carpet, albeit the L40 is a little better.
r/Dreame_Tech • Impressive Dreame L40 Ultra perfomance on vacuum wars ->Pleased you are amused. What is the point in telling people bull shit. I've had an L20, L40, X40. The only one with no issues was the L20 and is still going strong. The L40 and X40 were replaced twice. I've had problems with Samsung . . I'm currently running a roborock, useless with obstacle avoidance, excellent on carpet, and a Eufy E28, very good but a very basic app. It isn't just about Dreame it's about giving no bull shit honest opinions
r/RobotVacuums • Dreame L50 Ultra Durability ->My Dreame L40’s front caster has broken, Costco(UK) telling me just to return…Dreame taking an age to reply to support! If I take a refund, should I replace like for like or can anyone recommend better in a similar price range? Mopping being the highest priority, but a great all rounder would be good!!
r/RobotVacuums • Replacement suggestions for an L40!! ->The L40 has quickly become top dog in the Dreame lineup. Don't get me wrong, I love my X50, but i would go for the L40 now.
r/RobotVacuums • First robot vacuum purchase, any strong opinions on these two options? ->Yea call Michael, +16267459880 at the dreame store. They have amazing deals just bought ours yesterday. Personally I went with the L40 cause it's 430 but still can't go wrong with either
r/RobotVacuums • Best robot vaccum object avoidance ->I think they can add the feature via a software update. Bot is literally identical to the dreame l40
r/RobotVacuums • After a month of analysis paralysis I found the one... MOVA P10 Pro Ultra ->My QRevo master is so stupid with object avoidance. My Dreame L40 navigates like a tweaker looking for copper though.. no logic to it
r/RobotVacuums • Best affordable mopping robot ->I have the Dreame L40, and while it's a bit of a PIA to set up, (too many options, tbh), it does an amazing job on my carpets. Mopping ain't bad either.
r/RobotVacuums • What actually works for your carpets? ->I got Dreame L40 for 800€ on black Friday and it is absolutely worth the money. It is not perfect, and it cannot reach every hole and corner, we have a lot of rooms and doors. But the job it does is quite good. Our floors are not very dirty, we leave shoes downstairs and we mostly have hard floor. But the dust is gone and the floors look clean.
r/RobotVacuums • Are robo vacuums worth it? ->I tried the eufy e28 (way too loud) and the L40 and now I have the mova p50. L40 was ok. Didn't detect my rugs properly and was pretty good on object avoidance but the reason I returned it was because it was always leaving water on the bottom of the base station. Gross water that I'm sure would start smelling over time. The base station or the P50 drains and has always stayed clean. For pnject avoidance, in my experience, it's much better than the L40 and it detects ALL my rugs properly. From what I'm reading on vacuum wars, the ecovacs are good at cleaning but worse than the L40 at object avoidance. We aren't necessarily cleaning up the floors before the vacuum runs everyday and the cats sometimes knock something down like a string that dangles and I don't need my vacuum eating half of it and tearing the house down around it :) I'm so happy with the P50, I bought a second for our top floor I should also add that the L40 is newer than the X40 and I've heard that it's better in some respects. The P50 appears to be between the L40 and the X50.
r/RobotVacuums • Dreame L40 Ultra, Dreame X40 Ultra Complete or Mova P50 Pro Ultra (and perhaps Ecovacs T80)? ->I haven't had roborock but I have tried the dreame L40. The p50 seems far superior. Identifies more objects, seems smarter and the base station actually cleans itself nicely. The L40 would leave dirty smelly water in the tray
r/RobotVacuums • Is mova good ? ->My L40 worked great for 2 months, now the dock doesn't dispense water when cleaning mops or washpad, so there's no longer any mop cleaning. Customer service has been near impossible to talk to
r/RobotVacuums • Best state of the art Robot vacuum with mop (looking for real-life reviews)? ->I got the dreame l40 with coupon code it came to 439! So excited
r/RobotVacuums • Vacuum and mop combo ->If you look on sales here theres a dreame salesman from the store in LA I think they have a pretty good deal for another month (just bought l40 with free tri cut brush for 448)
r/Dreame_Tech • Anyone Already Planning a Prime Day Upgrade? ->In the spirit of this post, based your prime day recs post - if there’s a dreame model I’m looking at that is on sale (L40, 60% off right now) today, I should buy it now vs waiting right? Or was your pricing caveat only applicable to the models you listed? Edit: this wasn’t one you recommended I know but I figure as you say it will probably end up doing the trick and 60% off is pretty nice
r/RobotVacuums • This doesn't have to be an agonizing decision. ->I got the DREAME L40 over this because it’s apparently its a bit better and was $100 cheaper. 2 weeks, it’s been a life changer. Home feels way cleaner now. Weekends consist of just cleaning spots it missed. Do deep clean every 3-4 weeks now.
r/RobotVacuums • Mova P50 Pro Ultra 1 month (ish) review. ->Dreame L40 two weeks here. Amazing for $500.
r/RobotVacuums • If my budget is only $500 for robot vacuum. What should I buy? ->DREAME L40 been good for me at $500 on Amazon.
r/RobotVacuums • Looking for recommendation $500 and under ->I have been using the Dreame L40 for 4 months now, its excellent. With two big dogs in the house is does a great job of vacuuming and mopping
r/RobotVacuums • After a month of analysis paralysis I found the one... MOVA P10 Pro Ultra ->The Dreame L40 has been great and has been on sale below $500 a couple of times recently. Even has an onboard camera so you can spy on the house when you’re away.
r/RobotVacuums • If my budget is only $500 for robot vacuum. What should I buy? ->Dreame L40. It has better obstacle avoidance, way better mopping, and newer tech. X8’s decent but a bit dated. With kids + sand? Go Dreame and don’t look back.
r/RobotVacuums • help deciding which robot to buy ->it's also really good!!
r/RobotVacuums • help deciding which robot to buy ->I would look at the the dreame L40 or Mova P10 ultra if they are still on sale for 499. I would 100% stay away from Bobsweep and roomba. Bobsweep is overpriced garbage with no support and roomba is at least 3 years behind the curve (their new releases just now have lidar). The J7+ doesn’t even have lidar which is a crazy. Plus the is a good chance roomba isn’t a company in 3 years (CEO has said they could run out of cash this year since the Amazon deal fell through), And no mopping. For 500 on the mova p10 pro ultra you get so much more It’s hard to write it all out lol. Mopping, anti tangle brush, lidar, cameras for onstable detection and avoidance, extendable mop and side brush, lifting chassis, hot mop washing, intelegent dirt detections, wayyyyyy better app, and more. It will 100% be worth the extra money (for something like that) over the bobsweep and roomba. Basically you can spend $300 on something that will kinda work, or 500 or something that is way more set and forget.
r/RobotVacuums • Please help me choose: Dustin by bObsweep or iRobot Roomba j7+? ->So the p10 pro ultra and the dreame L40 are almost identical. Mova was a dreame sub brand (now its own brand) so when I say identical I mean really close lol. I believe the L40 does have the ability to leave the mop pads back at the station when vacuuming (or raise them for carpet/rugs) where the p10 pro ultra just raises them. The mova does have a 3 year warranty though which is a plus. As for the differences between the ultra and pro ultra: Extendable side brush An RGB camera for better obstacle detection A newer mop cleaning system (with rubber wipers to automatically clean the dock) The ability to lift the main and side brushes A newer version of CleanGenius: Offers the option to mop after vacuuming instead of all at once Floor stain detection is available Mop cleaning is done at 70 degrees Celsius instead of 60 Is a little taller (103.8 mm vs. 97 mm) Can climb over obstacles a little higher (22 mm vs. 20 mm) I found that in another thread but I believe it’s accurate. In short, I 100% think it’s worst the extra $100. Main reasons being the better self cleaning dock, lifting side and main brush (for wet spills) the RGB camera and the stain detection. All of those will lead to a much better experience overall. Are they 100% necessary? No, but they will add over $100 value (my opinion) that you will notice in day to day use.
r/RobotVacuums • Please help me choose: Dustin by bObsweep or iRobot Roomba j7+? ->Imho all Roborocks listed above are overpriced and their object avoidance struggles on carpet with small items. Narwhal seems to have good object avoidance, but they were on sale for a much cheaper price before and their support is not great. Dreame L40 cleans good and object avoidance seems to be good, but apparently also has terrible after sales support. I used a Eufy X10, but despite the camera, it still picked up children’s toys occasionally from the ground and its vacuum performance was bad. S1 has the best mopping performance among all above (could be useful with the dirt children bring in), but it should have similar object avoidance compared to X10 and will catch small objects occasionally. It is also not great with lots of hair. I would recommend to get Narwhal from Costco around $1200 if object avoidance is important or a Dreame if you are ok with a lengthy warranty experience if things go wrong. If you are keen on Roborock and ok with its object avoidance limitations on carpet, a Qrevo Master could work under 1k.
r/RobotVacuums • Recommendations for a Vacuum/Mop for a Busy Household ->I did end up getting the L40 Ultra after reading through your recs. The deal was too good to pass up! Thanks for all your help, really appreciate your time and effort on making these posts and the replies!
r/RobotVacuums • Prime Day last chance- a few hours left to score PD deals. Are you on the fence? Let's cut through it. ->Thanks for all your help! You’re right, that price is just too good.
r/RobotVacuums • Prime Day last chance- a few hours left to score PD deals. Are you on the fence? Let's cut through it. ->Considering your house is mostly hard floors, the s1 pro is a good choice however it struggles if you have carpet. If you have a mix of carpet and hard floors, I recommend the Dreame X40/L40 as it has significantly better carpet performance and edge cleaning due to the extending side brush. While the S1 pro has very impressive mopping, running a spinning mop style robot on a schedule will keep your floors as clean but one large benefit of the roller mops design in the S1 pro is that it is less likely to trap debris and scratch your floors.
r/RobotVacuums • high-end vacuum mop combo robot? ->I mean the L40 is an X40 that's been slightly stripped down to hit a lower price point. For some reason the X40 is right now $999 on Amazon while the L40 is like $1100 which makes no sense to me. But with those prices it makes more sense in my opinion to get the X40 Also, it seems like it makes more sense to get a certified Refurbished Dreame vacuums from their eBay store rather than purchasing a new one since certified Refurbished Dreame products get the 2 year all state/square trade warranty while the standard Dreame new product warranty is 1 year. Not sure what peoples experience with the certified refurbs are but it seems like the better deal considering it's cheaper and you don't have to deal with Dreame support for warranty replacements.
r/RobotVacuums • Best robot vacuum cleaner for wooden floor and no animals ->Yeah the Dreame Tricut brush fits right into the p10, it's the same hardware as the Dreame L40.
r/RobotVacuums • Best Robot Vacuum for Pet Hair Now ->Dreame l10S or l20 if you are trying to save money Dreame x30 if you have a little more money to spend Dreame X40/L40 if you want the best. If you only have hardfloors, the Eufy S1 pro I also like the QRevo Slim if you want something from Roborock but I am disappointed with its Object avoidance capabilities when compared to Dreame and Eufy. Roborock in general is quite trash at obstacle avoidance and it makes it hard for me to trust their vacuums to run on a schedule without having to babysit them but their hardware is solid and reliable. Skip the Eufy x10 that so many shills like. It's got a lot of features that look good but in reality they aren't very well implemented. I had two of them and Eufy partially refunded me for both of them due to my experience with them. Good customer support, but a bad vacuum design that struggles to pick up anything on hardfloors. For the same money I would get a Dreame l10S or L20 instead. I posted my full review here: https://www.reddit.com/r/RobotVacuums/s/AVD9Ph2eHK
r/RobotVacuums • Best robot vacuum cleaner for a busy household? ->Mova and Dreame are sister companies. The p10 pro ultra is just a rebadged L40. The docks are the exact same part number infact. If you are wondering how it will perform, look at the reviews for the L40. The only feature it's missing is leaving the mop pads at the dock.
r/RobotVacuums • Can anyone give feedback on the MOVA P10 Pro Ultra mop/ vacuum? Thanks! ->They are identical. Both are going to have the same flaws. I would just get the L40. Dreame is known for not having the best quality control but like most electronics the failure rate follows a bathtub curve. Chances are it will fail within the first few hours of operation or it will work reliably for years before failing. Both of my X40 certified refurbs have been flawless and I've put over 300 operating hours between the two. I would get the L40 if you are getting it for less than the p10 pro ultra and run it every day to make sure if you have a dud, that you can return it within the Amazon return period. Dreame has the best obstacle avoidance in the market, you don't have to prep your house every time you run it. I run both of my x40s on a daily schedule and they rarely if ever get stuck.
r/RobotVacuums • Can anyone give feedback on the MOVA P10 Pro Ultra mop/ vacuum? Thanks! ->Mova P10 pro ultra or Dreame X40/L40. Mova is Dreame's sister company and the P10 pro ultra is the Dreame L40 but being sold at a fraction of the price. All three are solid performers with the best object avoidance on the market along with equivalent cleaning performance to the top Roborocks. As of right now Dreame is far ahead of Roborock in object avoidance so generally with the flagship Dreame/Mova products you don't need to prep your house before you run the robot which makes it easier to trust the robot to run on a daily schedule with it getting stuck. If you can wait a few months, I would do that as Dreame and Roborock just announced a bunch of new models at CES. The new models look pretty impressive but reviewers haven't made full videos on them yet.
r/homeautomation • Robotic vacuum recommendation ->Dreame x40/L40 or Mova P10 pro ultra. Dreame/Mova have the best object avoidance on the market currently along with having top notch cleaning performance. I run my X40s daily on a schedule and they never get stuck on cords or cat toys. The QRevo slim I also ordered to compare my X40 again would basically always eat a cord, sock or cat toy when running so I couldn't trust it to run on a schedule and returned it. Roborock in general has top notch cleaning performance but horrible object avoidance and I would not recommend roborock for that reason Eufy has pretty good object avoidance, especially in the S1 pro but the common issue with Eufy's products is that they underperform when it comes to vacuum performance. They fail to pick up debris on hard floors and carpets. And perform worse than Dreame/roborock.
r/RobotVacuums • Best option for my cluttered house? ->Neither. 1) roborock has horrible obstacle avoidance, especially on carpet so they will eat cords, towels and socks so it's hard to run any of their vacuums on a schedule 2) the roborock s8 maxV ultra is a 2 year old design as this point and their sonic mopping system is outdated. It seems like they didn't want to cannibalize their QRevo line up and stacked on a silly side mop onto it. 3) the QRevo edge is good but if you are set on roborock, check out the QRevo slim as it has the best object avoidance out of all Roborocks but that isn't really a high bar to overcome as their robots have object avoidance that is comparable to a $400 robot. Personally since you have so much carpet, I would recommend the Dreame X40, L40 and the Mova P10 pro ultra (sub brand of Dreame). All have excellent hardfloor and carpet performance while also having class leading object avoidance. I currently have qrevo slim that I'm testing and a Dreame x40 ultra. The x40 just a far better cleaning system due to the object avoidance since I can run it daily.
r/RobotVacuums • Help Me Choose Between Roborock S8 Max V Ultra and new Roborock Qrevo Edge ->Dreame X40/L40 or Mova P10 pro ultra. The P10 usually goes on sale for $679 and it's like 90% the same as the x40 which goes on sale for around $800-900. The p10 has a slightly smaller battery and is missing the ability to leave the mop pads at the dock. The X40/L40 and P10 are probably the best overall robot vacuums on the market right now with the best object avoidance, equivalent carpet and hard floor performance to Roborock and equivalent app features. These robots also have extending side brushes which do a great job getting into corners and areas where the robot can't normally reach. The tricut brush which you can purchase and install does a excellent job preventing hair wrap but I have found it is significantly less effective on hard floors. The included roller brush does a good job on carpet and hard floors. The excellent obstacle avoidance enables you to schedule your robot to run daily without having to prep your house, it just avoids cords, socks and other common obstacles significantly better than Roborock's most expensive offerings. No one makes a perfect robot vacuum right now, all have some compromises, for example the x40 side brush currently cannot spin on carpet (they are fixing it in a software update) and it's Cliff sensors are very sensitive so Dreame vacuums have more trouble with dark/black carpets or mats. Roborock makes vacuums with excellent cleaning performance but atrocious obstacle avoidance so they rarely can finish a cleaning run unless you prep your house. Eufy brings a lot of features to the table for the money but seriously struggles with vacuum pickup performance. If you wait for the middle of this year, there will be alot of impressive offerings like the Dreame x50, and Roborock Saros series and maybe even Eufy will fix their issues with the x10 and bring out a new flagship killer that actually has good vacuum performance.
r/RobotVacuums • Not loving Roborock Qrevo Pro OR Eufy X10 Pro Omni… ->How much is the Mova p10 pro ultra in your area? Mova is Dreame's sister brand and the p10 pro ultra is identical to the Dreame L40 other than not being able to leave the mop pads at the dock. The L40 is as good as the X40 minus one obstacle avoidance sensor and slightly smaller battery but it performs equally as well but at a lower cost.
r/Dreame_Tech • Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2 vs X40 which one is a better buy right now? ->Get a Dreame or Mova for best obstacle avoidance. I've owned a Eufy x10, Dreame x40 and Roborock QRevo slim. Out of all of them I rate the Dreame x40 far ahead of the other two with the QRevo slim coming in 2nd and Eufy x10 last I currently have two x40s and their obstacle avoidance is nearly flawless. The robots rarely get stuck or eat cables which lets me run them both daily without having to prep my house or intervene. Roborock in general, really struggles with obstacle avoidance, especially on carpet. The QRevo slim I had for a few weeks before returning it would constantly eat cords and cat toys. Do not go with roborock if you value obstacle avoidance. For your case, I would recommend the Dreame L40 or Mova P10 pro ultra. Mova is Dreame's sister company and the p10 pro ultra is identical to the Dreame L40 other than not being able to leave the mop pads at the base station. And both are very similar to the X40 other than having a slightly smaller battery and slightly different obstacle avoidance sensors while still being as good as obstacle avoidance. The advantage of the L40 and p10 pro ultra is that you are getting X40 level performance but usually around the $500-700 price point.
r/RobotVacuums • Best robot vaccum object avoidance ->Dreame L40 or Mova P10 pro ultra. The L40 should available on sale for around $400-500. The Mova P10 pro ultra is also around the same price and is identical to the L40 as it is made by Dreame's sister company. Get the L40 over the P10 pro ultra if they are the same price as the L40 gets software updates sooner. The L40 is one of the top performing robots for the money and has excellent hair tangle resistance since you can run the tricut brush. I have 2x Dreame x40s and they have the same brush system as the l40 and I have one running the tricut and one without it. Both have been excellent with resisting hair wrap with the tricut having zero hair tangled on it and the regular brush having a small amount on the ends. The best feature of the L40/X40/p10 pro ultra is that they have class leading object avoidance so you don't have to pick up your cat's toys or prep your house every time you want to run the robot meaning you can run it on a daily schedule which will keep your house cleaner. I run my X40s daily and they never get stuck on cables, cat toys and other random junk that ends up on the floor. If money is not a constraint and you have lots of carpet, try out the Saros 10r and Dreame X50. Both have some of the best carpet performance while also having good hair wrap resistance. The Saros 10r has slightly better cleaning performance than the x50 but the downside is that its obstacle avoidance is significantly worse than Dreame.
r/RobotVacuums • Best robovac for handling hair with overall strong cleaning performance ->The L40 is definitely inferior to the X40 (I’ve had both)
r/RobotVacuums • Am I choosing correctly? ->It’s the water output. L40 puts more water down.
r/Dreame_Tech • Does single vs double laser matter for obstacle avoidance? (L40 vs x40) ->I’d go in with the understanding that the latest and greatest today will be outdated tomorrow. So I went for the best bang for my buck. I just got a Dreame L40 which was only $475. I actually like the performance. And really if money wasn’t an issue, I’d do a nice professional install to hook it up to my plumbing so I don’t have to fill it up or empty the dirty water. Then buy a new best bang for buck model every few years. If money is no object and I’d probably get the Dreame L40S (notice the s) which has 19,900 Pa for vacuum or Dreame x50 (dreames X line is their top of the line while the L is more midrange. With that said, I feel that Roborock is the more solid and reliable brand. But Dreame has its bells and whistles. Theres a lot of debate over mopping. Roller vs spinning. And for me personally with light traffic and a no shoes indoor home, I find the spinning mop good. The base washes the mop with hot water, and it picks up a lot of dirt. I also go to vacuum wars for reviews. Their top is Ecovacs, roborock, Yeedi and Dreame/Mova (mova is subsidiary of Dreame) Not everyone is impressed with Dreame but I like it so far. And a lot of people seem to like Norwal. With that said. I just feel like if I’m going to spend $1000. I’d rather get a $500 one now and and another $500 5 years from now. Than buy a $1000 now.
r/RobotVacuums • If money wasn’t an issue, what’s the best robot vacuum right now? ->I mean you can get two for the price of 1. I have the L40 and I got it at prime a few weeks back at $474. With the money I saved, I’m planning on getting a better model next year. The latest and greatest this year will be outdated next, so I’m not going to pay premium price. It’s good bang for my buck.
r/RobotVacuums • Dreame L40 Ultra down to $470 – is it worth it or should I go for the L50 Ultra at $1,099? ->L40 can be hooked into water
r/RobotVacuums • Dreame L40 Ultra down to $470 – is it worth it or should I go for the L50 Ultra at $1,099? ->I also had the same dilemma and went with the L40.
r/RobotVacuums • Prime Day last chance- a few hours left to score PD deals. Are you on the fence? Let's cut through it. ->Yeah p10 is 6th place and l40 is 20th place. Mova is a brand under Dreame. Basically same parts. Except the P10 pro ultra has a 13000 pa suction. I attribute it to just how they just test it and long term use. Technically the p10 is stronger. P10 13000 pa. L40 is 11000 pa. Extend brush on carpet. P10 (unless there is a few update) No L40 yes Leave Mop Pads at base. P10 no L40 yes At the time it seemed like the L40 was its mid range flagship. It also has little additional difference in the silver trim. After doing research it seems like there will be L40S with 19000 pa. I wont want to keep waiting for the next sale. But after going back and forth, I decided on the l40. So basically Dreame has retail stores. It has higher markup but they have sales like this. Their Mova gives more bang for buck and more direct to consumer and internet sales. So its year round price is lower. I’m going to play around with the removable mop feature. Only because I only want to mop every so often and I feel like it’s better to vacuum often without worrying about the mop catching or dragging on stuff. But there have been some people with issues with this and if that’s the case I’m going to leave it on. I’d rather have the option than not.
r/RobotVacuums • Prime Day last chance- a few hours left to score PD deals. Are you on the fence? Let's cut through it. ->Dreame L40 has been amazing for us
r/homeassistant • Best automatic robot vacuum? ->I owned a Roborock s5 (very old), an ecovacs t30 (which I wild very soon) and now a dreame L40. I would Go with dreame or Roborock because of the software. The ecovacs was the only one that got stuck (3 times a week).
r/Dreame_Tech • Our first robot vacuum: Roborock Qrevo S or ECOVACS T20 Omni or Dreame L10s Ultra ->It depends on your house’s set-up, none of the robots got it all. I have Eufy, Roborock, and Dreame: - Eufy S1 pro has been the most reliable mopping robot for my mostly hardwood floor. Excellent mopping performance, excellent object avoidance, and very reliable (does its job every night with zero issues). People underestimate the advantage of the ozone sterilizer in the station, never had a bad smell. Older model so goes on discount often, but superior to newer models is what I heard. - Roborock q5 max+ is a carpet beast, I use it for my upper floor that is mostly carpeted. Excellent suction at a low price point, never has hair wraps, very reliable. Non existent object avoidance (you will have to clean up before it cleans) and no mopping capability - Dreame L40, lots of tech at a lower price point when it’s on a <$500 deal. Excellent object avoidance and good coverage. Its carpet performance is subpar and its mopping performance is no match for the S1 pro. It’s too smart for its own good and navigation + efficiency suffer as a result. Dirty water tank smells like death all the time. This is my newest addition and I’ll be returning it possible for a L50 during the next black friday etc.. With all of those robots, if you maintain them they’ll last. None are set it and forget it for long periods. Bottom line in my opinion: Eufy for reliability and mopping performance, Roborock for reiability and carpet/suction performance, Dreame for object avoidance
r/RobotVacuums • Need Real Feedback Before I Drop $$$ – Roborock, Dreame, Ecovacs, Eufy… (or Others) - Help Me Decide ->Agreed. I had a Roomba top model since 2014. I recently got a Dreame L40. I cannot belive how far iRobot fell behind. I always stuck with them becaue I always had good response and customer service, but wow. What these newer ones can do is amazing.
r/RobotVacuums • Making a decision is so hard! ->got the dreame l40 that and the mammotion yuka mini are my best buys of the year. made my life alote easier.
r/RobotVacuums • Are robot vacuum's worth it? ->Buy via Amazon. I’ve heard returns directly to Dreame can be difficult. FWIW, I looooved my L40 until the mop pads started failing to install and I was never able to resolve. Everything else about it was amazing.
r/RobotVacuums • First robot buying advice. ->Returning my L40 tomorrow because of recurring mop installation issues. Seems pretty common but there’s no fix. It’s frustrating.
r/RobotVacuums • Vacuum and mop combo ->Better navigation for sure! I had a Roborock before the l40 i have now. Dreame has a lot more random going spot its already been rather then just cleaning the room. Also seems a lot slower maybe because of the random side trips.
r/Dreame_Tech • What’s one thing you wish your robot vacuum could do better? ->In the reviews I've read and seen online, the L40 was better than most, but still slightly worse than the X40 when it came to obstacle avoidance. I rate obstacle avoidance as my absolute top priority, as most robovacs I've had can't complete a single run without eating a sock or a cord. I rate it higher than almost all the other things combined; so while the L40 actually got higher grades on some areas (mopping, notably) than the X40 despite being cheaper, I bought an X40 last week. It's been running three times a day (I'm teaching it different floors and rooms) and it hasn't had a failed run yet.
r/Dreame_Tech • Does single vs double laser matter for obstacle avoidance? (L40 vs x40) ->In vacuumwars tests, the X40 was just above average, while the L40 got 117 points (I think average is like 80). That said, it's entirely possible this is down to a firmware upgrade to how the mops work, and they tested the X40 before the upgrade; that's what I kind of convinced myself of at least 😁
r/Dreame_Tech • Does single vs double laser matter for obstacle avoidance? (L40 vs x40) ->I think most people, including myself, would've been happy with the L40. It's just that I upgraded for the first time in a few years and I just really, really wanted the absolute best obstacle avoidance money could buy.
r/Dreame_Tech • Does single vs double laser matter for obstacle avoidance? (L40 vs x40) ->I ordered a Dreame L40 for myself (arriving today). It’s a refurb from their EBay store for $450, as I didn’t read about getting one so cheap from their physical stores until afterwards. The refurb comes with a 2-year warranty through Allstate. I picked this model for good obstacle avoidance and edge cleaning at a fairly low price. I did need to order the tricut brush separately, as my house has 2 long-haired cats and 2 long-haired humans. This brush is designed to cut long hair so it doesn’t wrap around it (which is a problem for every vacuum I own—I’m very curious to see how well this works). I currently have a four year old Roborock S5Max. It still works great, but it lacks obstacle avoidance, and I’m not good at keeping the floor clear. I wanted to stay with Roborock, as I’ve had a good experience with them and replacement parts are easily found cheap on Ali Express, but getting all the features I wanted was going to be over budget. If you’re a Costco member, they have one of the Roborock Qrevo models for about $500. It has great reviews but lacks the more advanced obstacle avoidance that was a top priority for me.
r/RobotVacuums • Help me pick one please for two disabled women ->Dreame l40 I just got mine a week ago ish and it’s freaking amazing. $500 on eBay right now new.
r/RobotVacuums • If my budget is only $500 for robot vacuum. What should I buy? ->Sale on eBay right now from official dreame seller. Just got mine a week and a half ago ish. So awesome.
r/RobotVacuums • If my budget is only $500 for robot vacuum. What should I buy? ->Just saying thanks for the commentary. It helped. I almost bought the roborock q10 s5+, since I figure it'd meet most our needs. But figured the wife would appreciate the automatic features of the next step up. Got stuck a while between the Mova p10 pro ultra and the Dreame L40 since they seem like the same product. Price is only $25 apart, so just went with the L40. Your recommendations helped.
r/RobotVacuums • Prime Day last chance- a few hours left to score PD deals. Are you on the fence? Let's cut through it. ->I have a hardwood with dark spots on the first floor. L40 detected them as obstacles and didn't clean about 40% of the surface. That happened every single time it was cleaning, and every time I updated the map and removed obstacles. Qrevo curv was eating cords in one place, that was easy to remove. Otherwise was cleaning 100% of the floor.
r/Roborock • Any alternatives for the QRevo Curv, or is it worth the splurge? ->Only had it for 1 month but the Dreams L40 Ultra has been doing really well with my golden retriever hair. In the UK it came with the cutting brush and it’s had zero tangles
r/RobotVacuums • Dog parents! What vacuum-only robot works GREAT for pet hair? ->I learned a lot by watching videos lots of videos. It really depends on what you feel is important. The vacuum wars spreadsheet in this post is helpful. Their comparison link is helpful. For value priced with good object avoidance, good app and overall good function. I don't know how these price out where you are. Dreame x40 Eufy e25 - best mopping Mova P50 - Not good if you have wide grout lines Dreame L40 - not the best object avoidance but good enough. If you need something cheaper you might research the Dreame x30. I havent really researched the lower priced models because object avoidance wasnt as good. All I know is what I learned searching for my vacuum. Look at the chart in this post to narrow things down.
r/RobotVacuums • Ok I made a spreadsheet with Vacuum Wars data ->I got Dreame first time last week and FWIW, Reddit told me that the L40 is actually more reliable than the X series. Something about the X having too many sensors and not a strong enough software to handle it, so it gets confused more. I got my L40 (for $349 USD) from an official Dreame store and love it
r/Dreame_Tech • is the x50 worth the extra 400€ on top of the x40 ->I can understand that. I can take you from my experience with two kids three cats and a dog, my dreame l40 does good not choking itself on hair ties and bobby pins all day. But just being on the subreddit I've had a lot of experience just similar to the eufy outrage and it just seems odd to me. Regardless of how well they do, because I don't think they're on the top of any reviewers charts. Not bad but not on the top.
r/RobotVacuums • I write about robot vacuums for a living. AMA. ->Also got the L40 2 weeks ago and have none of the issues you mentioned. Probably you got a lemon :(
r/Dreame_Tech • My experience with Dreame L40 Ultra ->I have a Dream L40 Ultra (I think that's what it is) and it only cleans my first floor, which is maybe 800 sqft? I couldn't imagine not having that thing mop and vacuum every night. It's amazing. We first got a robot vacuum (Shark IQ) right after moving in because my wife wanted to vacuum every day and I thought that was crazy, I'm not spending 15 minutes each day to make lines in a rug. I will never go back, and in fact I bought my family L40 Ultra's when they were on sale for Prime day because it's such a game changer in keeping the house clean.
r/RobotVacuums • Unpopular opinion: get a robot vacuum even for a small place ->We have a Dreame L40 and love it with our golden retriever. The tricut brush is perfect with long hair and I never have to cut it. Mopping is quite good for general maintenance but it does leave a safety zone around carpets of about an inch. I love the extending mop and side brush. My corners are also cleaned and doesn’t bump in to furniture while cleaning the legs or the edges.
r/RobotVacuums • high-end vacuum mop combo robot? ->I completely agree that the new robots are not perfect. They cannot replace a stick vacuum. My 7 year-old Dyson V8 still does a far better job in one quick pass than my Dreame L40 on criss-cross deep clean with tricut brush. My first Dreame L40 was a dud, but Dreame replaced it in one week after they saw my review on Amazon. Hopefully it keeps running! It does pick up about 85% of my corgi’s fur on medium pile carpet. The Mova P10 Pro Ultra I have seems about the same. The $900 Dreame L40 and $700 Mova P10 Pro Ultra are much better than my S7 MaxV Ultra, but still not a replacement for the old Dyson V8. And I think these “20,000+ pascal” suction numbers are just vaporware marketing. I don’t think these flagship bots (Dreame X50, Roborock Saros, etc) are worth $1200 - $1600. The step down models are the much better value.
r/Roborock • Saros 10R 24 Hour Review ->If you’re in the US, call and order from the Dreame Century City store. They are selling the L40 brand new with a free anti hair tangle brush and detergent for $440 including tax. I have one and it’s been great. I think the x40 is $540 and does have slightly better obstacles avoidance.
r/RobotVacuums • Best robot vaccum object avoidance ->The L40 comes with a 3 year warranty and the X40 only comes with 2 years…. The L40 comes with the tricut brush in the box and I don’t think the X40 does which is odd. I had an L40 but the heater that heats the water did not work (cold not even a bit warm). So it’s gone back and got a refund as now waiting for the Black Friday discounts and torn down I order the X40 or not. Really annoying the X40 has less warranty and tricut is an extra?
r/Dreame_Tech • Impressive Dreame L40 Ultra perfomance on vacuum wars ->I nabbed an L40 to give it a whirl because of the deal…do I need the separate tricut brush? (I figured if she does me dirty by not cleaning, I’ll return her and get the S8 MaxV you recommended, but I didn’t want to miss the closeout…)
r/RobotVacuums • Prime Day last chance- a few hours left to score PD deals. Are you on the fence? Let's cut through it. ->If you can score a Dreame L40 for less than 500 (it was 474 during Prime Days), get it. It’s really been better than my expectations. 5 pets and four humans in our house.
r/RobotVacuums • Looking for a robot vacuum and mop with a dock and dustbin under 500$ ->Could you share why the Mova P10 Pro Ultra has a lower mopping score than the Dreame L40? I was able to order both of them during last week’s sale but I’m struggling to decide on which one to keep. I thought they were essentially the same robot? Did the mopping tests change since the Dreame L40 was reviewed or is the Mova really a worse mopper? Thanks!
r/RobotVacuums • Big Changes on the Vacuum Wars Top 20 List Today ->Owner of a L40 here, since Black Friday. None of the issues here. Got the tri cut brush with it that does make a difference. The whole thing works like a charm. Love it. Bought a 3D printed dust bin - with hepa filter - so no more throw away bags. It seems it can be hit and miss with what you get from Dreame, which is a bad thing!
r/Dreame_Tech • My experience with Dreame L40 Ultra ->The freaking Dreame L40. We just got one after a bad experience with a cheaper roborock. You won't get everything in your list but your floors will be VERY clean and it wont be clogged all the time.
r/RobotVacuums • What is your current robot, and what features would cause you to upgrade next? ->I have a dreame L40. I think it’ll do what you’re asking for. I absolutely love it and it’s much cheaper than the X40
r/RobotVacuums • Looking to buy my first robot vacuum and I am completely overwhelmed ->The are both great top tier robots. Can't go wrong with either.
r/Roborock • Is Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra worth the $$$?
r/RobotVacuums • I Was Wrong About Robot Vacuum Mops and What I'm Doing About It ->I just went back to my old L10 Ultra (the non S version).. it's a workhorse, 287 hours of run time and 103,000sqft cleaned so far and still going strong. The v50 absolutely destroyed the L10 as far a vacuuming performance given it has more power and those dual brushes, but the L10 (in my opinion is better in every other way). I should also point out that I have bought and returned the Ecovacs X9 Pro Omni, and the Dreame L40, none of which justified the price of upgrading from the L10.
r/RobotVacuums • Mova V50 carpet improvement ->I second Dreame, I have the L40, you can disable mopping in the app.
r/RobotVacuums • Advice needed - not interested in mopping ->I also have an L40 Ultra and I haven't experienced issue 1 or 2. I would agree with #3 but I think that, for me, it's due to the Tricut brush which I bought with it. The Tricut brush is a double-edged sword in that it definitely does not get tangled with hair. I've been using the Tricut brush since November 2024 on 3 Dreametech vacuums (one L40 and two D10 Plus's) and not a single one of them has had a hair tangle yet. The downside is that it definitely doesn't pick up as well as the default brushes that came with the D10 Plus. I never tried the silicon brush that came with the L40 Ultra so I'm not sure how that compares.
r/Dreame_Tech • My experience with Dreame L40 Ultra ->I have an L40 with a shedding girlfriend and a shedding pug (so both long and short hairs). The tricut brush does a brilliant job on both LVT and long-ish pile carpet. Obstacle avoidance is also brilliant. It's only become stuck once since I received it during Black Friday, and I blame that on the Christmas tree. As for the detergent question, I cannot say for certain as there's a lot of conflicting information out there. Dreame's support themselves have stated it's just used to clean the pads, and someone took the base station (of the very similar x40) apart to look at the tubes and couldn't find an obvious path between the detergent tank and the onboard water tank. That being said, when mine does a mop, there's a clear scent of a cleaning product in the air. That could be from mop pad cleaning though. Dreame's support have been known to get things wrong in the past (Costco warranty status, for example). I'd love an answer from the team at dreame that actually built it!
r/RobotVacuums • My priorities are mopping and picking up hairs. Which one to recommend ? ->Yes I agreed with you. I heard many QA issues with the Chinese-made robots. I consider myself lucky as my Dreame L40 has worked flawlessly so far.
r/RobotVacuums • I’m quite unsure about which robot vacuum to buy ->Roborocks are not known for their obstacle avoidance, so it's not surprising that the Curv climbs over small obstacles. L40 is surprisingly superior to X40, probably because its firmware is newer and more polished than the X40's.
r/Dreame_Tech • Impressive Dreame L40 Ultra perfomance on vacuum wars ->Based on my experience, the L40 is similar to the X40 in obstacle avoidance—both can detect small objects, avoid large obstacles, and climb over tiny ones. However, when it comes to navigation and cleaning, the L40 is slightly better.
r/Dreame_Tech • Impressive Dreame L40 Ultra perfomance on vacuum wars ->I got a Dreame L40 that only cleans the pads with detergent and then during mopping keeps them wet. I added Woldoclean detergent to my fresh water tank 0 problems and the apartment smells great and floors are clean:) Dont now how it works with the X50 and L50 now?
r/RobotVacuums • Best Robot Vacuum with detergent mopping? ->[L40 vs x40](https://youtu.be/zMUk6I1Ruv8?si=0GJscda07OjCIotE) [L40 vs Curve](https://youtu.be/VcetEIG9DNE?si=-Z8x9gP487RkLkmO) [L40 test](https://youtu.be/51YlbWSDGDs?si=QFzwB7NDV2S6-nty) [x40 vs s8](https://youtu.be/8mctdPywTjw?si=b1pn8Fk44IWIKo2s) Myself i got the L40 and love it works everytime 0 problems. It maps good and cleans good:)
r/RobotVacuums • Is there a consensus here on the best vacuum cleaner? Dreame X40/L40 Ultra or Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra ->I think not all are created equal, I bought a L40 on sale and it came with a tri cut brush. It still got clogged with pet hair. The dust bin you posted seems to have a nice square opening vs the restrictive rectangular opening. I also found that it’s vacuuming on carpet is sub par. I came back today to an error where the L40 couldn’t pick up the mops it had dropped and wanted me to manually put them back on after it cleaned the carpet.
r/RobotVacuums • Need Real Feedback Before I Drop $$$ – Roborock, Dreame, Ecovacs, Eufy… (or Others) - Help Me Decide ->I agree with you. If your problem is long hair and avoiding disasters for your pets, you should definitely buy L40/x/40
r/Roborock • Any alternatives for the QRevo Curv, or is it worth the splurge? ->YES. It is most definitely that bad. It’s bad on hard floors but god forbid you run it on a carpet. I have a video of it just plowing through fake dog poop on carpets. Edit: I have owned both the roomba j series and dreame l series, and both are so so much better.
r/Roborock • Is the AI and obstacle avoidance really that bad? ->I tested the roomba j series and the l series from dreame and both perfectly did the test
r/Roborock • Roborock Obstacle Avoidance Sucks ->I tested the roomba j series and the l series from dreame and both perfectly did the test
r/Roborock • Roborock Obstacle Avoidance Sucks ->Because both my Dreame L series and Roomba J series did the same test flawlessly
r/Roborock • Roborock Obstacle Avoidance Sucks ->Got the dream a few weeks ago. It's a game changer. I had a Neato and a few iRobots over the years. With those units, I spent more time pulling out dog hair and untangling rollers than actually using the product. This is a lot more advanced, and with the self emptying, it's pretty great. All I do now is swap out the water tanks every day. Gripes? The mop pad on the base station gets hairy. It has difficulty getting dirt between the edge of the rug and the hardwood floors. It's expensive. All in all, it's a nice machine.
r/Dreame_Tech • X50 Ultra Thoughts? ->Just get the top level dreamebot or roborock (same company owns both). Their robots do an excellent job, and the app works really well!
r/RobotVacuums • If money wasn’t an issue, what’s the best robot vacuum right now? ->Looks like you’re right, they are technically not both currently owned by xiaomi, but they share a ton of similarities. My coworker has a dreamebot and his app, replacement parts, features are nearly identical to my roborocks.
r/RobotVacuums • If money wasn’t an issue, what’s the best robot vacuum right now? ->The Dreame robot mop system is our favorite new roommate! We have a new and an older iRobot Roomba vacuums and recently got this one for the main floor. We're very happy with it. It's available in many different price ranges.
