We have hard floors and a Dreame W10 mop robot with self-wash station and I can tell you a vacuum-only bot would be completely useless for us.
r/RobotVacuums • Wirecutter says don't get a robot vacuum-mop combo. Do you agree? ->I have had robot vacuums for 10 years. About 18 months ago I bought a Dreame W10 vacuum/mop as my niece had one. I love this thing. It goes under our lounge and dining chairs and we have made furniture specifically to a height it can fit under. It does a great job with just plain water (I was quite hesitant about this), the waste water is very dirty. It returns to the base to clean the mop pads, has mapping and an easy to empty waste water tank. We have a step into our bedroom but I was able to create a separate map for there and lift it in. I haven't been game let it do our tiled decks so have to vacuum and mop them manually at which time I also do the nooks and crannies inside eg. Behind doors. The retired Roboking vacuum now does our airbnb and fits under the bed so I don't have to pull that out after every guest. It would be at least 6 years old and sometimes gets stuck between the floor rug and lounge. I heard it talking one day and upon investigation I found it hanging out over the stairs saying "wheels not touching the floor" Our only incident was a mangled USB lead I left draped on the floor many years ago. One thing to look for when buying is size/height. Our first vacuum didn't fit under the dining chairs.
r/CleaningTips • Will I regret getting a robot vacuum? ->I have this one as well, but the version without the self emptying deck. I'm always scared of bugs climbing in there and nesting before I get to empty it. This being said, I love it, and it's not even my first Dreame: I've never been able to find a better quality/price deal.
r/CleaningTips • Self emptying robot vacuums for homes with many pets? ->Got the dream a few weeks ago. It's a game changer. I had a Neato and a few iRobots over the years. With those units, I spent more time pulling out dog hair and untangling rollers than actually using the product. This is a lot more advanced, and with the self emptying, it's pretty great. All I do now is swap out the water tanks every day. Gripes? The mop pad on the base station gets hairy. It has difficulty getting dirt between the edge of the rug and the hardwood floors. It's expensive. All in all, it's a nice machine.
r/Dreame_Tech • X50 Ultra Thoughts? ->I've got a dreamtech which has self cleaning mops and it does pretty good. I've also got 2 kids and toys all over the floor and it barely gets stuck.
r/smarthome • Considering a robovac, is there anyone out there that truly frees you from having to clean the mop yourself? ->The Dreame robot mop system is our favorite new roommate! We have a new and an older iRobot Roomba vacuums and recently got this one for the main floor. We're very happy with it. It's available in many different price ranges.
