"dreame x30 that broke down"
"broke within 8 months. Sent to repair again"
"customer support or lack of"
I’m a big fan of my dreame x30
As long as you have a 'no questions asked' decent return policy....then it's an OK model. (I think the battery may be a little less than average before it has to return to the dock.) Put it through it's paces a lot. I mean a lot! You don't want to find an intermittent problem that only becomes apparent after the return period has expired.
Dreame's and MOVA's robots with an extending mop will excel at cleaning edges like these since the algorithm is very aggressive compared to other brands. Any model from the X30 Ultra and newer or the P10 Pro Ultra and newer can do this.
The S9 should vacuum better than the Narwal Freo Z Ultra. NarWal’s main strength is in mopping so it seems they’ve made tradeoffs where their mopping is market leading but their vacuuming isn’t compared to other flagships. For dreame/MOVA’s obstacle avoidance, I’ll say they’ve been pretty good since the X/L30 Ultra.
1. Anything that moves can break. So I suggest buying from a retailer with a good return policy + a good protection plan. 2. For base station cleaning: Dreame (some models), eufy, Narwal, roborock, and Xiaomi have completely removable mop washboards. I’m not a fan of the wiper driven mop washboards on the Dreame X/L30 and X/L40 ultra and the MOVA P10 Ultra/Pro Ultra simply because there’s too many nook and crannies to clean. However their new aceclean dryboard on the L/V/X50 Ultra and newer is much easier to clean even when only the filter is removable since there’s no nooks and crannies for dirt to hide in and dirt only really collects under the removable filter which is easily removed with a wet wipe or a Clorox wipe. I’d avoid bagless base stations. Spinning mop combo robots are less maintenance than roller mop robots.
I highly recommend combo robots if your parents walk around the house barefoot, it greatly improves the feel! The combo robots I found best for keeping itself clean are the dreame and MOVA robots with the filter self cleaning function and the flat washboard. I was able to get away with making my MOVA V50 run everyday for 3 months without a noticeable change in cleanliness. After that it’ll be and the roborock Curv 2 Pro and the Narwal spinning mop robots which generally consume more water than the other options. The app is going to be a challenge for them but you can set it up for them and put it on a schedule so they won’t have to open the app at all.
Thanks for sharing! I hypothesize that the X50 Ultra's poor battery life is likely due to the more power-hungry computer chip it utilizes. My own experience with the L40s Pro Ultra (mainland Chinese version) had a *worse battery life* that struggled to finish cleaning my home whereas my much cheaper combo Xiaomi robot (also mainland Chinese version) that has the same battery capacity and is also made by Dreame would be able to vacuum first and then mop my small apartment and finish with 50%. Other reviewers have reported that the L40s Pro Ultra (non-mainland Chinese edition) had a bad battery life, just like me :( Hopefully, this issue will be fixed soon. I hope the Dreame Aqua 10 Pro Track doesn't suffer the same battery life issue, especially because it'll need a more powerful chip to process all the information coming from the HD binocular RGB cameras and the dot projector, and a power-efficient water heater in the robot to heat the water up.
Ended up getting the Dreame X30. The navigation is quite impressive and seems to address the concerns I had. Mopping and vacuuming seem to be on par with the price point as well. No issues with the app and it seams to have the granularity I’m looking for. Thanks for your advice!
I have the dream x30. Wonderful robot. Have it set up to vacuum and mop daily and floors are great. One feature I thought I'd never care for is the remote access. You can connect to the robot and drive it around. Been useful on vacation.
I had the dreame x30 and returned it because the obstacle avoidance was too sensitive. Maybe try the Dreame brand, it seemed to be decent at avoidance, annoyingly so lol
I have a Dreame X30 and bought the cutting blade for it. It has a blade under the bristles so it can cut the hairs into smaller pieces. It doesn’t cut cords though. It has object detection to avoid things like toys and poop. Buy the refurbished version from the official store on EBay. There’s often a 20% off coupon. The refurbs are just new units they sell discounted so it doesn’t undercut the new ridiculous sales price. I’ve had it for about 9 months now and it’s been amazing. It vacuums and mops. It cleans its own mop pads and self empties.
Well I had a similar experience when I bought the X30. Sent it to them for repair, took 4 months to get it back, and it broke within 8 months. Sent to repair again, and complained about it to them that it takes a long time. I do feel like you that they take so long to reply to emails. I guess I got "lucky", in my case they sent me a free upgrade (X40), The only strange thing is that they told me to remove my negative review from Amazon to get the free upgrade.
My original X30 got a crack in the front wheel housing (after 4 months of daily use). I think it happened because I have 3 dogs and hair got caught up inside of the wheel, I wasn't aware until I noticed that it kept making a dragging noise and struggled to turn. I removed the front wheel and cleaned it, but it turns out that the hair was holding it together, so once cleaned the front wheel kept falling out due to the large crack. Dreame sent me a new X30. The issue I had with the second one was that it refused to drain and the overflow sensor stopped working, so after every session there was a huge puddle of water around the base station. It was either the pump had gone bad or there was a clog in the line inside of the base station. (Happened after 4 months of daily use)
Put some 2mm blocks under the bed so it can go under :) On a serious note, coming from dreame x30 that broke down and I'm on the market for a new one, I'm team roller mop. Can't even think of using vibrating or spinning mops now. Mova z60 for me.
Everything is Chinese after all and all the OEMs share resources on one level or another. I know dreame x30 was good to me but it was killed during transfer so I'm looking for a new one. So I believe no matter which company you buy it will be ok.
Pass your finger or a piece of paper on the wet spot after the robot did it's thing. In the videos there is a lot of dirt left for the spinning mops. Of course the dirt is more exaggerated because they use more dirty liquid for the wow effect but it's still true. I had dreame x30 and it was fine, it did it's job but it seems the manufacturers are now moving towards a better tech.
And the customer service is TERRIBLE. I would even consider changing the brand. They made me pay a fee because mine stopped working within the first 4 months, and they claimed it was due to water damage. That doesn't make sense, as I only used it for routine cleaning, and they made me pay a fee because the warranty didn't cover it. Now, they don't want to give me a device or reimburse me the money, and they are already pretty expensive. Mine was the X30, which costs $700. They charged me an extra $150, and now they refuse to replace it or do anything.
