"will compress fur in the dustbin with cyclonic filtration. ... Dyson’s robots with cyclonic filtration ... Some robots also boast fur compression that works when it vacuums like Dyson’s robots with cyclonic filtration"

"due to its extra large brush roller it does help prevent hair wrapping. ... Because the brush roller is large in diameter it helps prevent the hair from being able to fully wrap around it. ... My wife has hair down the butt and I rarely find it on the brush roller."
"the thicker roller means it’s less prone to tangles"
"use a much bigger brush roller, about as big as a regular cordless vacuum’s"

"But the lack of a front camera makes this robot suck everything in its path like cables, toys, and pet surprises."
"Unfortunately now it seems to have lost it's mind. Re-mapping hasn't helped, nothing has changed, I'm at a loss. ... Navigation wise it's the most finicky and unreliable robot I've ever used."

"Dyson's post-sales service is laughable. ... It's outsourced to people who often don’t speak your language fluently, and you’ll end up wondering if you’re talking to GPT. ... I’m confident you’re not, GPT or any LLM wouldn’t be that dumb. This is cleverbot-era level of dumbness."
I have three shorthair cats and live in an apartment that is mostly medium pile carpet. In my experience vacuums that have rollers with combination rubber and bristles do better at combing pet hair out of carpet fibers than ones with all rubber rollers. A lot of reviewers do pet hair tests by scattering small clumps or individual strands of hair on top of carpet and that's not the whole story in real life. The hairs work their way down into the carpet and it takes aggressive agitation and strong suction to get them out. If carpet performance is paramount, get the Dyson Visnav or if you don't mind used, the Roomba S9+. Older Roombas that bounce around randomly and have the dual rollers with a separate rubber and bristle roller are also great at carpet combing. I keep a 690 around just for that reason even though I also have had newer vac and mop combo robots.
I got a visnav for $350 and as a vacuum this is excellent but it isn't a great robot. It has a bad tendency of getting lost and it tends to get stuck very easily in various obstacles. I'd be hesitant to recommend this unit
Not a complex layout but it is quite large and some areas aren't as well lit as the robot might like. It tends to have issues with returning to the dock and I've noticed that it gets stuck in small spots between furniture. When it is working though it works like an absolute champion, it does navigate much slower than a shark lidar based robot that I ended up returning due to low performance.
I also own 3 and share the same thoughts. It’s absolutely amazing for hardwood floors too. Most other robot vacuums leave a layer of dust on the floors (verifiable with a V15 laser). The fluffy roller and suction of the Vis Nav is amazing.
Depending where you are and possibility to travel, I recently purchased a Dyson 360 Visnav for €700 (€1299 normal price) in Dyson Austria and am over the moon with it.
Mova has issues with Carpets. Mine does aswell. The Dyson 360 Vis Nav is probably the best Vaccume but not a good robot. If you want the best possible carpet cleaning the I think this one will be it if you can live with the shit navigation
Honestly, probably the Dyson 360 Vis Nav; it's lacking in features but has very good carpet cleaning performance. Most other robot vacs currently being sold are lacking in carpet deep cleaning performance, unfortunately.
Having had several robots I'm afraid to say the 40 series are poor on carpet. The best I've found from this manufacturer is the L50. It has the duo brushes and runs lower to the floor creating a better seal. It also has a far superior bin design creating better air flow. Eufy e28 and 25 both good on carpet. If you don't care about mopping the Dyson Vis nav has been floating around with terrific discount. That is best on carpet by a mile.
Mine is preparing me for parenthood because I am constantly running around pulling things out of its mouth and trying to prevent it from committing suicide Overall I love it though, anything to take a chore off your plate. I don't know if they're still on sale but I got the Dyson Visnav for half price on labor day, horrifically ugly little thing but muuuch better than the QUAISBOO WASHUDO generic Chinese Amazon slop ones I was using before

Okay that is definitely a fair point, but yeah I didn't like it enough to think it's not worth it at that price. Also, I think it was such a flop that expecting support in the long term is unrealistic. Now to be fair, expecting support for any robot is lofty, expecting support for products these days is kind of lofty. I mean ultimately the answer is you need to get the one that you think will make you happy. And once you've bought it, I get no delight in it making you unhappy. I mean I want people to be happy with what they buy. It was certainly a better vacuum than it was anything else, but I think there are better. I think that we have come to think of Dyson as the end-all be-all in vacuums so you can imagine my delight when I finally got my hands on a brand new one. And it was great. But then I had a Samsung stick vac in my hands a couple months later and discovered it was even better which just shocked me to my core. I guess what I'm saying is we tend to deFy certain brands and when we think of vacuums, we certainly think Dyson is at the top. I'm saying there are other options. But, the delight of Amazon is that you can return things within 30 days. So get it and see what you think.
Yes. Great vacuum ability. Medium object avoidance. Noisy.
