Well, my deebot x8 pro omni with the roller mop did a solid job in my place. The roller mop can do the washing and mopping at the same time so I don't need to worry about the stain just comes away when you're mopping.

It's a shame the X8 totally misses the edges with its roller mop. Over time the edges of a mo[p]ped room will look noticeably dirty.

For me, mopping performance is the top. That’s why I got Ecovacs X8 pro omni. The roller mop cleans itself as it goes, won't spread or smear dirt around. It has been great for quickly cleaning up after my cat’s messes. No need to deal with brushes, wash mops, or empty the dustbin frequently. I spend my money to free up my hands, and enjoy a thoroughly cleaned floor.

I like my ecovacs X8 pro. I like to vacuum first then mop. I have it set on schedule, let it clean while I’m out. My cat seems to love it too. Sometimes X8 finishes cleaning the carpet, she always messes it up again with her hair.

I got the x8 and I really like the roller mop. It keeps self-cleaning when mopping, it doesn't spread dirt or wet stains around, that's my favorite part. It also dries very fast and doesn't leave water streaks. So if you're looking for a good mopping performance, I think the roller mop is worth the shot.

I’ve got one I’m using right now, the x8 pro omni from ecovacs. Honestly, it’s solid and does everything I need for cleaning at home. I really like that it has a roller mop that cleans itself while mopping, so the floor doesn’t just get dirtier. The vacuuming and other features work well too.

I haven’t seen many good reviews of irobot here, and it doesn’t seem that many people use it. I use an ecovacs deebot myself, and if you’re not in a rush, the X8 pro omni might be worth a look. I’ve had it for a few months and it’s been really reliable so far.

I've used the dustbin on the x8 for few days, at least I don’t have to clean it all the time. The roller mop is softer than a traditional hard bristle mop, so it’s less likely to scratch your tile floors, hope this helps and gives you some useful reference if you need it.

Hello, happy you're looking for a new robot and the comparison between the 2 models you're choosing from is close but for what you're looking for I think overall the X50 would be better. The X50 has 2 brushes, duo brush, that work in tandem to sweep and pick up pet hair without tangling, ensuring a clean floor and carpet with a single pass through. The suction power on the X50 is also going to be very strong, stronger than X8, for picking up larger pieces or clumps of hair/fur as well. X50 also has it so you can program to empty itself and clean the mop pads how you'd like, so if you want it to clean/empty after cleaning for an allotted amount of time, by area cleaned or even after cleaning a single room so it's always fresh to go. The X8 might have a slight edge when it comes to mopping since it uses a roller brush, which scrapes itself as it cleans so it keeps a fresh roller, and some people prefer that over the rotary mop pads for cleaning, but also in my opinion the rotary style mop pads do a better job at mopping up to the edges over a roller brush which can struggle in those situations. if, you're looking at both models and they can be had for the same price, go with X50 in my opinion, It's going to do a better job for the cleaning space you need. Hope this helps a bit and happy hunting!

Well, I like my deebot anyway. Maybe cause mine is a newer modle so works better. Me and my Maine Coon shed a lot (sometimes I’m not sure who sheds more). So I use my X8 Pro Omni twice every week to clean up our place, getting hair out of the carpets, picking up dust on the hardwood in the living room, and dealing with the bathroom tiles. There’s a lot of hair, so I find myself checking the brush pretty often. After almost two months of use, I haven’t seen serious tangles, just occasionally stray hair caught on the wheels.

Honestly, without carpets, good mopping is a must. The cat hair in my place is next level, it's everywhere, floors, clothes, you name it. What I do is run my deebot x8 first to vacuum it all up, check if it's clean enough, then go in with the mop.

I've got a ton of floors at home too, and got the x8 pro omni week ago. I've used it a few times now, and tbh, the suction is strong. The roller mop thing that everyone's been raving about just lives up to the hype. If you've got a lot of floors, this thing's a fit, it doesn't leave water stains like some others, and it gets into those tricky corners like a pro:)

I have two vacs in HomeKit via Matter at present, the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra, and the Ecovacs Deebot X8 Pro Omni. Both offer a reasonable enough experience in Apple Home so far, although for both models, in terms of suction you only get minimum or maximum options - Min/Max for S8, Quick or Deep Clean for the Omni. I believe Switchbot’s models offer all four speeds, although the K10+ Pro didn’t have the relevant update at the time I had it (I gave it away). Of the two, I think the Roborock is better for a few reasons, but the Ecovacs does offer some features that may be more useful in some situations.

We just tested the Ecovacs X8 pro omni, and it was actually pretty good on low pile carpet, and okay on high pile. It was also the best mopping robot we've seen so far (It mopped for 3 times longer than other robots, but still impressive). Its obstacle avoidance was just okay, but better than the S8 Pro Ultra. Here's a quick comparison based on our testing of the Ecovacs X8, S8 Pro Ultra, S8 Max V: https://preview.redd.it/15ktdlq55glf1.png?width=1311&format=png&auto=webp&s=9322f09c1f9db5a5f60813eb56a0ac8f1b9e2b4a We haven't tested the X9 yet, but we have it in our office. We will hopefully have the X9 results available in the next few weeks. I would expect it to perform similarly or better to the X8, but we can't know until we test it. Hope this helps, and feel free to ask me questions about our reviews if there's something you're unsure of!

Glad to hear we've been helpful for you with other product, and it's my pleasure! :) One thing to note about our robot vacuum scores is that they were initially created when vacuums and robot vacuums were the same product category. This is why they score more in the yellows/reds than other product categories. We've split them into two separate product categories late last year, but we still have a lot of work to do on both ends when it comes to making them their own. A great example is TVs. It was our first product category and has come a LONG way since 2013, so we're hoping to get there with robot vacuums (and others) as well with future test bench updates. I'll pass along your feedback, and scoring/testing area was already on our radar so it definitely helps us know that we're on the right path for future updates. Robot vacuums are really intended for maintenance, but some of them are starting to get close to traditional vacuums and mops. One thing to consider is that we push robots to their absolute limits in our pickup test with the robots in their default settings, and we evaluate them on after only one cycle in a tiny space (If you want more info as to why, let me know!). Usually, lower scoring means more cycles required to tackle large messes, but if you run it frequently, most robots should get the job done and will push back the need for a manual deep clean. Best way to use our results/photos is to look at whether a robot struggles a lot with specific types of debris like sand in its first pass. For example, the Dreame X50 [struggles a lot with smaller debris](https://i.rtings.com/assets/products/2zg0DmvJ/dreame-x50-ultra/hardfloor-large.jpg?format=auto) on hard floor, still left some behind[ after a second pass](https://www.rtings.com/assets/pages/f8Pinx7O/hardfloor-pass6-large.jpg?format=auto), whereas the X8 did well with all debris types but [missed some areas on its first pass](https://i.rtings.com/assets/products/072liubI/ecovacs-deebot-x8-pro-omni/hardfloor-large.jpg?format=auto). If you anticipate having a lot of smaller debris (dirt) on your floor, the x50 wouldn't be the way to go, and you could cross it off in your research. It's currently ranked 5th in our "Multi-Surface Household" usage, but that's because hard floor pick-up is weighted at 40%: https://preview.redd.it/obwjc22tgllf1.png?width=1347&format=png&auto=webp&s=279e5b96e842ec5c265caa0d8ff9b87d827b1ff5 I think the X8 Pro Omni could be a good option for you, but there were some software bugs that we experienced, like losing maps after creating them and minor quirks with connectivity. It's hard to tell if that is what other users will experience IRL because we have hundreds of devices connected to our Wi-Fi, which could cause interference. Roborocks fair better in our testing when it comes to software and app reliability, so that's something to keep in mind. I do agree that this new generation of robot vac/mopping combos are definitely still in their early adopter phase, and there's not one robot that I could with absolute certainty say would be the best for everyone. However, based on our testing, I think anything that has a high yellow and green should get the job done in most cases. Hope this helps! I know this is a lot of info, but let me know if you have more questions, and I'll try to get back to you as soon as I can. **TL;DR:** Our current scores are based on a test bench created for both traditional vac and robot vacs, so we're looking into changing it in the future. Lower scores usually mean more passes needed, more frequently manual deep cleaning needed, or that the robot struggles with a specific type of debris/can't reach certain areas. The best robot for you might not be the best scoring one that we recommend. Robots are still in early adopter phase, but most decently scoring robots will be good for general day to day maintenance, but you'll still need to deep clean.

Based on those options, yeah, I would say the X8 Pro Omni should suit your needs. Just keep in mind it doesn't great obstacle avoidance, and that it has a lot of parts that need maintaining. If you experience any navigation/mapping issues like we did, I'd contact Ecovacs or look into replacing it with a Roborock, but of the ones I've seen on Amazon UK, none really beat the X8 in mopping and low pile carpet pickup performance. My pleasure, and thanks again for the feedback! :)

The Eufy S1 Pro is a decent robot. I didn't love testing it because I encountered some bugs and navigation issues, but that doesn't always translate to real life situations. It's good at mopping and should get the job done if you run it frequently, but it does struggle in corners (most mopping robots do). If you have a heavy stain, just run a spot clean in that area with 2 or 3 cycles, and it should get rid of it without much intervention from you. Just keep in mind the more you run the vacuum, the more you'll have to maintain the parts and the dock. It's also bad at low-pile carpets and okay at high pile, so if you add some in the future that would be something to keep in mind. If it's a really larger surface, I'd take battery life into consideration too, and the Eufy S1 pro is currently our best scoring in battery so it might be a good choice for you! To set proper expectations, you will still need to do a deep clean every once in a while with basically any robot vacuum available on the market now. That being said, I have an older S8 Pro Ultra at home, and while it didn't score that high on our mop test, I usually come home to shiny floor (hard wood) when I run it. I usually only have to spot clean with my cordless vacuum once a week for corners, and I don't remember the last time I mopped haha (I handwash the corners every few weeks though, which takes like 10-15 minutes in my small apartment). Hope this helps and have a great day!

For spit up stains, I would say def go with a self-cleaning roller mop type, you wouldn't want the spinning mop to spread everything around. I have ecovacs x8 and it works fine. But I would raise the water flow rate for dried stains. I heard x9 will be available soon, it can auto lift the brushes and mop. Eufy e25 and e28 is also highly recommended, maybe wait for those latest models.

I don’t think roller mops can fully replace floor washers. I have a deebot x8 pro with the roller mop and it cleans better than other mop styles I’ve tried. But when I spill something small, my first reaction is still to grab a mop instead of turning on the robovac right away. Both come in handy for me.

For those of you wondering whether roller-style mops are the way to go, here are the results after a cleaning session in Smarthomeassistant's test setup (German review site which does some excellent and thorough robot reviews). The Dreame X50 and Roborock Saros 10R use spinning mops, and the Ecovacs X8 uses the roller-style approach. I find it pretty wild how much better a roller-style approach is at actually lifting the dirt off the floor rather than just smearing around. There are similar roller-style mops coming from Narwal and MOVA, and this will have to be the way forward for Roborock and Dreame too, otherwise they'll fall waaay behind. Here are the reviews where the screenshots come from: [https://youtu.be/njcGoCFo78I?si=LIHDj-WCcRdPztvn&t=1110](https://youtu.be/njcGoCFo78I?si=LIHDj-WCcRdPztvn&t=1110) \- Spinning mops: Roborock Saros 10R & Dreame X50 [https://youtu.be/QnFsqubK1IY?si=7lhQoQgfk19au6zB&t=700](https://youtu.be/QnFsqubK1IY?si=7lhQoQgfk19au6zB&t=700) \- Roller-style mop: Ecovacs Deebot X8 Pro Omni

Agreed, I personally wouldn't go with Ecovacs either, but still interesting to see how the roller-style tech performs vs spinning mops. My guess is the mopping will be faster on the MOVA and Narwal models due to their larger surface area. It'll be an interesting showdown once those models (+ whatever Eufy is working on) are out!

I’ve been waiting to upgrade my robot vacuumed (ecovac t8+) and just picked up an ecovac x8 pro Omni. Went with this model because I really hated all the mop designs on every robot vacuum up until this x8 models. Two spinning pads that just spread the dirty around really bugged me and I was mopping my floors with Bissell hydro steam mop vacuum. The x8 Omni is the first robot vacuum (that I know of) to have a roller mop that also self cleans while it is cleaning!!! It sprays the roller with fresh wash (or detergent mix if you choose to use some sort of solution) and it has a squeegee that cleans the dirt off the mop and stores the dirty water. From my understanding the x8 was announced at CES this year and I just saw that an x9 model was already announced not too long ago. Personally I’m kind of annoyed with how quickly a new flagship model has been released….

Already having the Eufy L60 SES for our Upstairs, carpet only area, I was looking into buying something for our downstairs and looking at the S1 Omni Pro due to it's mopping and also as we were already in the ecosystem, but it's lacklustre carpet cleaning and it's inability to do vac or mop only were a big no for me, being that half my house is carpet while the other half are tiles (And having 3 cats + 1 dog), so we opted for the X8 Pro Omni instead and I have been VERY happy with it. Our floors are always clean and the extendable mop means the corners and our skirting is cleaned too. I believe we have made the right choice. In saying that, if somebody had all hardwood floors and no carpet, I would likely recommend the Eufy over the Ecovacs as the carpet features aren't an issue in those households.

I have not noticed any excess water left behind on the X8 but you can adjust the amount used or leave it to AI to determine. I am unsure whether the Eufy has the same ability.   I think, based on your situation, that the Eufy might be better suited as you don't need the improved carpet cleaning and the Eufy has a larger mop head. It may not get the corners as it doesn't extend out but you  can always do a manual mop once a week. Our robovac doesn't replace our cleaner who still comes in once a fortnight for a proper deep clean of the hose either.

Yes I just finished watching them. You're correct in the bias. The issues he experiences with the X8 either are easily fixable in the app or I have not experienced myself.

Likely both would have been a solid choice (can‘t say about the downforce, but reviewers like vacuumwars never mentioned it). The Z50 has a wider (roller)/track, which is better than on the X8/X9, so probably the better choice, especially if the other guy says it has more downforce (+36C warm mop washing during cleaning)

I agree with the other comments, it won't get into the grooves but it can definitely clean the tiles. With tiles like these, I suggest vacuuming first and then mopping so the dust in the grooves doesn't turn into a mess. I got the x8 from ecovacs and it's been working well for me, worth checking out.

Ecovacs X8 was a deception for a crazy expensive $1200 robot (ended to be returned because of mapping). Didnt had time to test battery once i was able to see the mapping proccedure didnt fullfiled my standards but gave the perception wasnt good either (the return was made 24h after) I ended with Roborock Qrevo Master (i believe on discount at this moment $800) and it does preform really good, app and maps much better (not perfect), battery life good enough. Both will have problems to recognize low profile furniture fixtures (like legs made of stainless steel tubes) and it will try to climb over it either way (never understood what brands claming that such vaccums has capability to avoid this issues) Anyway, happier with Roborocks comparing to any other brand This is my 3rd Roborock and I have tried to switch brands but its a no no when i try to switch to another one

I think there is more like a suitable robovac than a perfect one. I dont know much about other brand but I am currently using Ecovacs and its been good. If you have more wet stains, you can check out Ecovacs X8 for its self-cleaning roller mops. If you want the robovac to deep clean your rug as well, the new T50 PRO MAX has great suction and carper recognition.

We had an X1 Omni for two years, and overall it was an adequate vacuum. My main complaints at the time: - The app or robot would ‘forget’ the map randomly, and I couldn’t backup/restore at that time. Backup and restoring was eventually added. - The docks mop cleaning ‘deck’ wasn’t removable, so cleaning was a huge pain. It would also have a drainage issue occasionally. - The robot had weird navigation quirks. For example, if there were two ways to get to a target cleaning zone, and it went one way that was blocked, it wouldn’t try and go around the other way. Instead it wouldn’t just dance around for ten minutes and then error out. Very frustrating. - The spinning mop pads weren’t very effective (not an Ecovacs specific complaint IMO). -Main and side brushes would tangle constantly. Last month we purchased the X8 Omni (while it was on sale), and it’s a significant improvement over the X1, with basically all my complaints remedied with design changes and improvements. The navigation can still be a little quirky, but this one seems to actually adapt if it can’t find its way to its target zone, and the obstacle avoidance (for us) is excellent. The old X1 would just spin around endlessly and then say it couldn’t get to its area. The new roller mop is SIGNIFICANTLY better, and the floors actually look clean after it’s used. We’ve only had it for a few weeks though, so my opinion is subject to change if this thing takes a dive, but so far we’re impressed with the new one. For comparison, I was considering waiting for the new MOVA or Narwal with the rolling mops (the main feature I wanted), but those weren’t available in the US yet.

We've had roomba, ecovacs, and Miele in the past. The Ecovacs pro Omni is my favorite. I run Miele scout about once a week for large particles dragged in from the yard. Long hair is no match for this model and it doesn't get stuck everywhere and suck up cords. It has great mapping and AI integration. I highly recommend it and the winbot.

We got a Eufy vacuum only a few years ago and after having to sweep everyday due to having 2 dogs and a cat, it was this amazing luxury I couldn't even imagine. It ran really well for a long time. Then it did need to be replaced. We got the same model but this one had some issues rather soon. The remote stopped working which was a little important since i had a non mapping model. I still ran it but it would push dining room chairs around, get stuck on the base of our fan and cat scratcher. During Prime we splurged on a Ecovac Deebot that mops. Wow it is such an upgrade from what we 1st started with. We are really happy with its performance, my floors have never been so nicely maintained. Totally worth it.

I owned a DeeBot and I sent it back after a week. The mapping function was terrible. It was amazing at cleaning but I don’t want to fight with a vacuum. Customer service suggested I join their support group on Facebook for assistance. I can’t even make this mess up. I’m not joining a group to use a vacuum. Instead, I bought a cheap mop/ vacuum combo from Inova and it was amazing. I still use it 2.5 years later. I’m in the market for an upgrade now that budget is larger.

Vacuum Wars is what I needed to see! Thanks! There are so many fake review sites out there, good to see one that actually tests the products. I'll keep an eye on the newer models. Ecovac claims to use AI to learn about furniture positions and re-cleaning hard to clean stains (it allegedly comes back over the spots that aren't clean enough). They have some space aged features like that. Vacuum Wars has reviewed some. Looking into it...

I've owned a few, my experiences with different brands in order of ownership: Neato - My first and way ahead of it's time. I loved this vacuum, it had lidar way before the rest of the competition. Didn't save maps but navigated the house systemically and did a great job cleaning. Lasted from 2013 until 2019. I wish this company had continued to improve their product lines but they've sky rocketed in price compared to their competition without really adding new features. ECOVACS DEEBOT- The shortest lived vacuum I owned, less than 6 months. Piece of shit. iRobot Roomba 960 - Had it from 2019 until 2023. Claimed to map rooms but it didn't really short battery life forced it to recharge at least 1 time and often 2 while cleaning my home. Honestly...I didn't care for this vacuum and was happy when it died as it was the perfect height to get itself stuck under my kitchen cabinets in 1 spot nearly every time it ran. Claimed to map rooms but just did the iRobot crash into things random path thing. Shark RV2502AE - It was good...until it wasn't when the lidar died, just over 6 months in 2023. I bought it new off Amazon, but Shark claim it was refurbished, the refurbisher claimed it was out of warranty, and Amazon is impossible to get someone on the phone with any real power to fix things. Even beyond those issues, the app was wonky and always very slow to connect. I will never buy another Shark product after that experience and I was almost to the point of giving up on robot vacuums. Roborock Q5 - Current, had it for almost a year. It's a great vacuum so far. It cleans quick and is smart enough to know when it hits rugs/carpet so kicks in extra power at those points. It did get stuck once under my bed, but I've since used the app to make it a no go zone and never had another issue with that. My 1 issue with it is not with the vacuum but it's empty dock design. The bags do not seal perfectly allowing some dust to escape which will clog a vent preventing proper emptying. Not a huge deal as...well it still can run 5+ times without needing it cleaned out. I bought an extended warranty with this one.

I equate robot vacs to hand sanitizer. They do the job, but at the end of the day, soap and water make your hands feel the cleanest. I have both an ecovac deebot and a roomba 405. Honestly, the cheaper deebot worked more consistently than the Roomba. Their app is dodgy as heck. If you have pets with fur, I've found the old school janitor brooms to be the most efficient and effective on floors. Too much fur tends to clog up Roomba vacs. Go cheap to dip your toes in the robot waters.

$500 is a critical threshold. I have had different Deebots for years and they are very helpful, but the real game changers are the Omni-stations. You definitely want to buy one with a station, that can empty the dust bin, clean and dry the mopping pads. The real magic of these robots is, if you have to interact with them, as little as possible. Having to only empty and refill the robot once a week, instead of daily was the hugest step in comfort for me personally.

I have a eufy S1. I chose it because I wanted something that was near-flagship, but <$1000. I also really wanted a roller mop as opposed to spinning mop pads. I hated the idea of smearing dirty pads around the floor. I've had it for about a month and am in love after replacing a very, very old Ecovacs Deebot which had no mapping nor navigation. The improvement is night and day.

It was $1000 CAD and a software nightmare. Ok so I have bought 3 robovacs in the last month. a cheap roborock with no dock, a j15 ultra and a ecovacs omni. By far the best mapping was roborock. But the other two vacs are better as they mop and have docks. The eureka j15 pro ultra is the best but the ecovacs isn't much worse for half the price. I paid 250 for the roborock, 650 for the ecovacs and 1200 for the eureka j15. My favourite is the j15 pro ultra and its not much different to the j15 ultra going for 900 now. The battery lasts way longer than the ecovacs omni but both do about the same level of cleaning. I run both mine twice a day just to see how they go and my floors have never been cleaner, whatever way you go a robot vac is awesome. Just schedule in and it cleans, best m9ney I've spent in a while. And yes I do need a couple as I have a large house. This is australia pricing aswell and I bought on the Amazon sales so they were cheap.
