r/ecovacsBought an Ecovacs T80 Omni and it started stinking — dirty water tank won’t drain, even after 2 repairs. Now I’m getting a refund… what robot should I get instead?

I have just jumped ship from Ecovacs to Dreame last week, switching from a genuinely cursed X5 Omni Pro to the Matrix10 Ultra. Considering Ecovacs positions the X series as “flagship” models, and with the spring discount the Matrix10 was in the same price bracket, they are WORLDS APART. Daisy (the Matrix10) is far more powerful yet much quieter. She cleans right to the edges and corners, doesn’t hallucinate entire rooms or randomly decide the map layout should be at a jaunty angle, she doesn’t pretend she can’t see right or do infinite donuts in the hallway, and everything about her cleaning strategies and navigation is better in every conceivable way. I no longer worry about what psychosis my potentially murderous robot will have today, and the cleaning is excellent. Do not delay. Your Ecovacs is probably plotting your demise right now.

I’ll say something good about them! I’ve had 3, T20, X5 and the X9 which is the best so far. I’ve moved them to my other home as I upgrade and still running great. Now the X5 I had to return, the vacuum box door didn’t close tight, I asked for just the dust bin but they said send it all back so I did, no problems here.

I started with the T20, still going at our cabin upstairs, X5 got moved to our cabin main floor, gave my X9 to my daughter since they have a dog, X11 at my main home. Everyone is running perfectly. Of course the X11 does the best cleaning.

r/ecovacsHey Ecovacs users, would new T50 Pro omni be your next pick?

I have the older T20 and does a nice job on both floors, no issues lifting the mops when on carpet then drops them back down on wood floors. It does boost suction on carpet too. I also have the X5 Omni pro which is awesome too

r/RobotVacuumsAustralia - What is the best robot vacuum for wooden and tiled floors with good mopping function?

I've got a Deebot X5 Omni. Does both those things. Mop function isn't great but it'll save you having to do it as often as you are.

r/RobotVacuumsSeeking feedback from users that deal with this level of dirt floor on a daily basis
12 months ago

I have 4 husky dogs and two yorkshires live next to a forest (100m away) and we bring load of dirt everyday. i have used many roombas like Roborock S7 Max (The one with vibrating pad) and Shark AI Ultra (Same pad) and found these types smudge it all over the floor like smeared dirt. i got later an ecovacs x1 with spining blades and it helped a lot as it changed the water often and washed the mops but my issue was that while it cleaned well it was bad at doing corners so i had black streaks all over. i used then an eureka j15 with spinning mop (like a roll not the blades) and it was very good but the mapping was horrid and it kept getting lost or spinning in circles. i got in end an ecovacs x5 pro with the spinning blades which i find best for mud as these pull water and made it every 10 min to clean the pads + empty dirt bag and it worked, it did not smear it at all etc.. the only issue with the X5 is that the app is okay it is not perfect and slightly buggy (roborock one was good). so in short: vibrating pads for dirt is a big NO, rolling mop is great (as it rolls basically and on top it is basically scrubbed and the dirty water is getting to a dirty container which may be great if you got more dirt than me) and rolling blades are great too when you are on budget. check used refurbs on amazon these machines are used for max 3-4h come with new accessories and are like new at like 40-55% MSRP. i got mine at 500euros while new one costs around 1300eur it was used just 37 min and it looked so clean that i was astonished... if you could get a roborock with a rolling mop it would be great if not get an ecovacs but beware you need to play around with the app and set it to clean mops every 10 min ah last thing: YOU NEED HOT WATER CLEANING as this breaks apart the soil and dirt and my x1 was in end full of mud rocks like it condensed and the x5 and j15 poured hot water and dissolved it. also look for a self cleaning station or like x5 with a base which can self clean and you NEED TO TAKE IT OUT to was under a sink as mine is full every day as the residue from forest is thick. also if you get load of fur then get an anti-tangle system.

r/Dreame_Techshould I get a dreame or roborock - ecovacs disapointed me hard
18 days ago

I had my Dreame L10 Pro brick itself on a firmware update well outside of warranty period. So i've gone the opposite to you and very recently (two days ago) picked up a refurbished X5 Pro Omni for a few hundred bucks. I liked my Dreame overall. it was pretty intentional with navigation and the front side obstacle avoidance was pretty great. I've found the ecovacs having it's lidar lower down as been better for my house as the dreame lidar tends to be above my skirting boards, which means it was sometimes confused about where the wall is in space - bumping in to it before getting itself lined up. It's fairly quiet as well. Having it brick itself has left a sour taste and hence my move to consider anyone but Dreame. The ecovacs app is similarly functional, maybe a bit better with the AI features. Bot overall it does seem a bit less mature. The app is not as polished. the mechanical sounds are a bit more course. It's general navigation is a bit relaxed in some cases, taking shortcuts around odd edges. In other instances it would put it's square side right into a corner or back the extended mop into a corner which is good. I'm happy with the ecovacs value, If I were going the other way, I imagine I would like the equivalent X8 Omni from Dreame as well. A bit expensive, but Dreame seems a little bit ore polished in every way - seems they know it and make you pay for it (In Australia at least)

r/RobotVacuumsNarrowed my choices down to 3 options - which one do you recommend?

I don't know the other two because I haven't had them. But I have had ecovacs, and I absolutely do not recommend them. It's a waste of money. Influencers pay and this is how they made a name for themselves... but I went crazy with my X5 omni.

r/RobotVacuumsRobot vacuums only make sense for floors, not with lots of carpet?

As someone with carpet in their home and many pets. I've found that my DEEBOT X5 does as good a job as my corded vac did. The self empty cycle only runs after the vac has completed its run and I've never had it empty multiple times during a run. And bear in mind the X5 doesn't have a big dustbin The suction these days especially on newer vacs has reached cordless level. Eufy even have a robovac that has a detachable module that lets you turn it into a cordless vac

I'm on deebot x11 unit number 4. All have failed with "navigation module malfunction". Two of the 4 wouldn't even map a floor (around 2500 ish sq ft) right out of the box. The first one I bought in September of 2025 and it lasted until mid December when I started getting the navigation module errors. Now i've received 3 within the last week and 2 would not even map the same floor the previous unit did. 4th one mapped the floor and ran for right around an hour before i got the "navigation module malfunction". Take it with a grain of salt. I've had the X2 (lasted for almost 2 years before the navigation module malfunction happened in december of 2025. Deebot x5 which was DOA right out of the box preordered. Then the X8 which was replaced once under warranty and failed in around 4 months. X11 is just taking the cake with 3 units that can't even run a full floor without malfunctioning. I'll never buy another ecovac even if they gave it to me for free.

Had x11 for 3 months. Worked flawlessly during that time. Then came the bad times. Navigation module malfunction coupled with "The main brush is tangled". Go to check and its sitting in the middle of an open floor and nothing on the brush. I contacted support and got a replacement here this past week. New one out of the box and it ran for 30 seconds until I got "navigation module malfunction". Tried every setting on the app including a full wipe and reboot and nothing. Just for kicks I ordered 2 more off amazon as its easier to return them so I have had a total of 4 of them now. The next 2 came in this past week and out of those 2 one was also unable to map the floor. Second one the amazon ones mapped the floor so I thought yes a working one but 30-40 minutes in can you guess it "navigation module malfunction". So now every single one is going back. I asked customer support about maybe bad firmware but all they want to do is send me a replacement unit but i'm done at 4. Refunding the one I got last year and that will just leave my old x8 I bought in feb of last year left (funny enough I had to replace that one too can you guess it for "navigation module malfunction". The X11 i've found at the bottom of my landing which is 3 steps and marked on the map as a no go zone so I imagine it flipping ass over teakettle probably isn't doing it any favors either. To recap i've owned the X2 (lasted 2 years until I had some weird thing happen where it lost connection and could no longer connect anymore), the X5 (albatross that lasted for basically a day with "navigation module malfunction"), the X8 (1 warranty replacement), and the X11 (4 brand new units). Once my X8 gives out I am out of the Ecovac ecosystem and would not reenter it even if they sent me one for free thats how much hassle its been. I bet you i've spent $250.00 in gas bringing these POS's back to the post office to return. Just my 2 cents for what its worth. Here's a picture of it after it sent me a message saying it was trapped. Looks trapped to me don't it? :) https://preview.redd.it/y02fgduunmdg1.jpeg?width=4096&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b0480d8abde93a7c1198459045d4950fe132d198

The dust collection box for Pro will not be needed to be emptied for at least 3-5 months.. if that’s not a big task then go for lower version.. N30 white.
