After comparing eufy S1 pro and Ecovacs X8, I decided to go with the x8. I have two cats and the x8 has no problem picking up cat hairs, works well on both hardwood floor and carpets. The mopping is good too, it doesn't leave any noticeable water marks. Maybe this review can help: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DwbTSjhMq9s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DwbTSjhMq9s)
r/RobotVacuums • Best Vacuum/Mop Robot for all hardwood floors with one very low pile area rug, 2 cats that track litter. No budget. ->I have two cats and I have a ecovacs X8. It picks up the cat hairs well and does not tangled on the brush. I set it to run daily so I can enjoy a much cleaner floor. I don't think soap is suitable for robovacs. The ecovacs cleaning solution is also nice, it could last up to 3 months.
r/RobotVacuums • Best robot vacuum for pet owners? / For dog hair ->Got it and gave it a try, feels pretty good. The roller mop definitely cleans a bit better than my old one.
r/RobotVacuums • What are your thoughts on the Ecovacs X8 PRO OMNI showcased at CES? ->We had an X1 Omni for two years, and overall it was an adequate vacuum. My main complaints at the time: - The app or robot would ‘forget’ the map randomly, and I couldn’t backup/restore at that time. Backup and restoring was eventually added. - The docks mop cleaning ‘deck’ wasn’t removable, so cleaning was a huge pain. It would also have a drainage issue occasionally. - The robot had weird navigation quirks. For example, if there were two ways to get to a target cleaning zone, and it went one way that was blocked, it wouldn’t try and go around the other way. Instead it wouldn’t just dance around for ten minutes and then error out. Very frustrating. - The spinning mop pads weren’t very effective (not an Ecovacs specific complaint IMO). -Main and side brushes would tangle constantly. Last month we purchased the X8 Omni (while it was on sale), and it’s a significant improvement over the X1, with basically all my complaints remedied with design changes and improvements. The navigation can still be a little quirky, but this one seems to actually adapt if it can’t find its way to its target zone, and the obstacle avoidance (for us) is excellent. The old X1 would just spin around endlessly and then say it couldn’t get to its area. The new roller mop is SIGNIFICANTLY better, and the floors actually look clean after it’s used. We’ve only had it for a few weeks though, so my opinion is subject to change if this thing takes a dive, but so far we’re impressed with the new one. For comparison, I was considering waiting for the new MOVA or Narwal with the rolling mops (the main feature I wanted), but those weren’t available in the US yet.
r/RobotVacuums • Are Ecovacs robovacs really that bad? ->Hmmm. Next best would be Ecovacs X8 or X9 on sale, or Mova Z50.
r/RobotVacuums • Which mop focused bot for tiles with irregular and partially deeper joints ->Likely both would have been a solid choice (can‘t say about the downforce, but reviewers like vacuumwars never mentioned it). The Z50 has a wider (roller)/track, which is better than on the X8/X9, so probably the better choice, especially if the other guy says it has more downforce (+36C warm mop washing during cleaning)
r/RobotVacuums • Which mop focused bot for tiles with irregular and partially deeper joints ->What’s the feature you care about most? I think it really depends on that since there are so many options out there. For me, I need mopping function, so I went with the ecovacs x8 with the roller mop.
r/RobotVacuums • Best vacuum and mop robot ->I agree with the other comments, it won't get into the grooves but it can definitely clean the tiles. With tiles like these, I suggest vacuuming first and then mopping so the dust in the grooves doesn't turn into a mess. I got the x8 from ecovacs and it's been working well for me, worth checking out.
r/RobotVacuums • Robot vacuum for tiled floor with area rugs? In Europe ->I think it really depends on personal preference. I mainly cared about the mopping, so I got the deebot x8 earlier this year. Some people don’t like it, but it’s been pretty good for me. I usually run it about three times a week, more if I’ve got time. Way better than my old one that just spread the dirt around. This one uses fresh water, so it actually cleans and doesn’t leave marks.
r/homemaking • What's the current best robot vacuum that you've ever owned for home use? Really worth it? ->My wife wasn't happy when I bought the deebot x8, but after using it for 2 months, she stopped complaining about it. Now she's the one turning it on all the time lol. I'd say just give it a try if it fits your budget.
r/Frugal • Is it worth paying more for a robot vacuum if it makes cleaning easier? ->For me, mopping performance is the top. That’s why I got Ecovacs X8 pro omni. The roller mop cleans itself as it goes, won't spread or smear dirt around. It has been great for quickly cleaning up after my cat’s messes. No need to deal with brushes, wash mops, or empty the dustbin frequently. I spend my money to free up my hands, and enjoy a thoroughly cleaned floor.
r/RobotVacuums • When we spend big on a robot vacuum, what differences are we mainly looking for? ->I got the x8 and I really like the roller mop. It keeps self-cleaning when mopping, it doesn't spread dirt or wet stains around, that's my favorite part. It also dries very fast and doesn't leave water streaks. So if you're looking for a good mopping performance, I think the roller mop is worth the shot.
r/RobotVacuums • Dreame X50 Ultra vs Ecovacs X8 Pro Omni ->I’ve got one I’m using right now, the x8 pro omni from ecovacs. Honestly, it’s solid and does everything I need for cleaning at home. I really like that it has a roller mop that cleans itself while mopping, so the floor doesn’t just get dirtier. The vacuuming and other features work well too.
r/RobotVacuums • Best model to keep floors clean? ->I haven’t seen many good reviews of irobot here, and it doesn’t seem that many people use it. I use an ecovacs deebot myself, and if you’re not in a rush, the X8 pro omni might be worth a look. I’ve had it for a few months and it’s been really reliable so far.
r/RobotVacuums • Best robot vacuum ->I've used the dustbin on the x8 for few days, at least I don’t have to clean it all the time. The roller mop is softer than a traditional hard bristle mop, so it’s less likely to scratch your tile floors, hope this helps and gives you some useful reference if you need it.
r/RobotVacuums • Recommendation for Vac/Mop Around $1000 USD? ->If there’s a lot of hair around, cleaning once a week maybe hard to cut it. I’ve got pets, so I usually end up doing a full vacuum and mop like two or three times a week. I use a roller mop (deebot x8), and honestly it can clean while you mop, which gives a really deep clean.
r/RobotVacuums • Looking for a premium robot vacuum + mop: Which brand fits me best (Ecovacs vs Dreame vs Roborock)? ->If you’re planning to use the robovac upstairs, you’ll probably need to bring the base station up too, most models have to return to it to wash the mop or empty the bin mid-clean. Mopping’s basically standard now anyway, so that’s no issue. There are quite a few budget-friendly options that mop well and deal with short hair easily. I think the deebot x8 I’m using works solid on that too. And it’s honestly pretty affordable. Overall, I’d just suggest going for something that vacuums well, can handle carpets, and make sure you’re okay moving the base upstairs when needed.
r/RobotVacuums • UK Robot Vac help ->I have Ecovacs N8 plus (aging, about to retire), N30 and X8 in two floors. Pretty happy with product and support network in Kochi. Their customer care is quick, whatsapp responses immediately and resolution are within a day itself. And they are served by Frootle, which got a shop+service center in Kakkanad. Overall, highly recommended
r/Kochi • Anybody using robotic vaccum cleaner? Which brand is good and has good after sales service in Kochi/Kerala? ->Hello, happy you're looking for a new robot and the comparison between the 2 models you're choosing from is close but for what you're looking for I think overall the X50 would be better. The X50 has 2 brushes, duo brush, that work in tandem to sweep and pick up pet hair without tangling, ensuring a clean floor and carpet with a single pass through. The suction power on the X50 is also going to be very strong, stronger than X8, for picking up larger pieces or clumps of hair/fur as well. X50 also has it so you can program to empty itself and clean the mop pads how you'd like, so if you want it to clean/empty after cleaning for an allotted amount of time, by area cleaned or even after cleaning a single room so it's always fresh to go. The X8 might have a slight edge when it comes to mopping since it uses a roller brush, which scrapes itself as it cleans so it keeps a fresh roller, and some people prefer that over the rotary mop pads for cleaning, but also in my opinion the rotary style mop pads do a better job at mopping up to the edges over a roller brush which can struggle in those situations. if, you're looking at both models and they can be had for the same price, go with X50 in my opinion, It's going to do a better job for the cleaning space you need. Hope this helps a bit and happy hunting!
r/RobotVacuums • Dreame X50 Ultra vs Ecovacs X8 Pro Omni ->I did't use old robovac much but my deebot x8 works well on dodging things. When it get close to my cable, it pauses briefly and then bypasses. It should get a little closer to the obstacle imo, but still, got nothing to complain.
r/RobotVacuums • Thinking of upgrading my robot vac — does obstacle avoidance actually work these days? ->Vacuuming: Mova V50 > Mova Z60 > eufy E25 or E28 or Narwal Flow > Mova Z50 > Ecovacs Deebot X8 or T80 / Yeedi S14 > Ecovacs Deebot X9. Mopping: Mova Z60 or Ecovacs Deebot X8, X9, or T80 / Yeedi S14 > Mova Z50 > eufy E25 or E28 > Narwal Flow > Mova V50.
r/RobotVacuums • I just want the best robo vac available and the research is killing me ->Like you, I was torn between Roborock and Dreame. But I ended up choosing the Ecovacs X8 because I was really drawn to its roller mop, haha.
r/RobotVacuums • which robot vacuum ->Honestly, without carpets, good mopping is a must. The cat hair in my place is next level, it's everywhere, floors, clothes, you name it. What I do is run my deebot x8 first to vacuum it all up, check if it's clean enough, then go in with the mop.
r/RobotVacuums • Need help choosing a robot vacuum (no carpets, cat owner) ->I've got a ton of floors at home too, and got the x8 pro omni week ago. I've used it a few times now, and tbh, the suction is strong. The roller mop thing that everyone's been raving about just lives up to the hype. If you've got a lot of floors, this thing's a fit, it doesn't leave water stains like some others, and it gets into those tricky corners like a pro:)
r/RobotVacuums • Help with choosing the right robot for my needs ->Honestly, I think it's not bad. My living room used to weaves around legos, socks, even the cat like a ninja lol. The 3d sensing actually recognizes some small objects on the floor, no more trapped vacuum alerts.
r/RobotVacuums • Help with choosing the right robot for my needs ->I was skeptical about the app at first, due to the hype around it, but it's better than its reputation. Scheduling cleanings around my work hours is effortless, and the live map actually updates in real time when it detects new obstacles, no more phantom furniture. (For the obstacle avoidance details, check out my other comment😉)
r/RobotVacuums • Help with choosing the right robot for my needs ->Ecovacs X8 was a deception for a crazy expensive $1200 robot (ended to be returned because of mapping). Didnt had time to test battery once i was able to see the mapping proccedure didnt fullfiled my standards but gave the perception wasnt good either (the return was made 24h after) I ended with Roborock Qrevo Master (i believe on discount at this moment $800) and it does preform really good, app and maps much better (not perfect), battery life good enough. Both will have problems to recognize low profile furniture fixtures (like legs made of stainless steel tubes) and it will try to climb over it either way (never understood what brands claming that such vaccums has capability to avoid this issues) Anyway, happier with Roborocks comparing to any other brand This is my 3rd Roborock and I have tried to switch brands but its a no no when i try to switch to another one
r/RobotVacuums • Which model is best at obstacle avoidance and not tangling hair? ->We just tested the Ecovacs X8 pro omni, and it was actually pretty good on low pile carpet, and okay on high pile. It was also the best mopping robot we've seen so far (It mopped for 3 times longer than other robots, but still impressive). Its obstacle avoidance was just okay, but better than the S8 Pro Ultra. Here's a quick comparison based on our testing of the Ecovacs X8, S8 Pro Ultra, S8 Max V: https://preview.redd.it/15ktdlq55glf1.png?width=1311&format=png&auto=webp&s=9322f09c1f9db5a5f60813eb56a0ac8f1b9e2b4a We haven't tested the X9 yet, but we have it in our office. We will hopefully have the X9 results available in the next few weeks. I would expect it to perform similarly or better to the X8, but we can't know until we test it. Hope this helps, and feel free to ask me questions about our reviews if there's something you're unsure of!
r/RobotVacuums • Making a decision is so hard! ->Glad to hear we've been helpful for you with other product, and it's my pleasure! :) One thing to note about our robot vacuum scores is that they were initially created when vacuums and robot vacuums were the same product category. This is why they score more in the yellows/reds than other product categories. We've split them into two separate product categories late last year, but we still have a lot of work to do on both ends when it comes to making them their own. A great example is TVs. It was our first product category and has come a LONG way since 2013, so we're hoping to get there with robot vacuums (and others) as well with future test bench updates. I'll pass along your feedback, and scoring/testing area was already on our radar so it definitely helps us know that we're on the right path for future updates. Robot vacuums are really intended for maintenance, but some of them are starting to get close to traditional vacuums and mops. One thing to consider is that we push robots to their absolute limits in our pickup test with the robots in their default settings, and we evaluate them on after only one cycle in a tiny space (If you want more info as to why, let me know!). Usually, lower scoring means more cycles required to tackle large messes, but if you run it frequently, most robots should get the job done and will push back the need for a manual deep clean. Best way to use our results/photos is to look at whether a robot struggles a lot with specific types of debris like sand in its first pass. For example, the Dreame X50 [struggles a lot with smaller debris](https://i.rtings.com/assets/products/2zg0DmvJ/dreame-x50-ultra/hardfloor-large.jpg?format=auto) on hard floor, still left some behind[ after a second pass](https://www.rtings.com/assets/pages/f8Pinx7O/hardfloor-pass6-large.jpg?format=auto), whereas the X8 did well with all debris types but [missed some areas on its first pass](https://i.rtings.com/assets/products/072liubI/ecovacs-deebot-x8-pro-omni/hardfloor-large.jpg?format=auto). If you anticipate having a lot of smaller debris (dirt) on your floor, the x50 wouldn't be the way to go, and you could cross it off in your research. It's currently ranked 5th in our "Multi-Surface Household" usage, but that's because hard floor pick-up is weighted at 40%: https://preview.redd.it/obwjc22tgllf1.png?width=1347&format=png&auto=webp&s=279e5b96e842ec5c265caa0d8ff9b87d827b1ff5 I think the X8 Pro Omni could be a good option for you, but there were some software bugs that we experienced, like losing maps after creating them and minor quirks with connectivity. It's hard to tell if that is what other users will experience IRL because we have hundreds of devices connected to our Wi-Fi, which could cause interference. Roborocks fair better in our testing when it comes to software and app reliability, so that's something to keep in mind. I do agree that this new generation of robot vac/mopping combos are definitely still in their early adopter phase, and there's not one robot that I could with absolute certainty say would be the best for everyone. However, based on our testing, I think anything that has a high yellow and green should get the job done in most cases. Hope this helps! I know this is a lot of info, but let me know if you have more questions, and I'll try to get back to you as soon as I can. **TL;DR:** Our current scores are based on a test bench created for both traditional vac and robot vacs, so we're looking into changing it in the future. Lower scores usually mean more passes needed, more frequently manual deep cleaning needed, or that the robot struggles with a specific type of debris/can't reach certain areas. The best robot for you might not be the best scoring one that we recommend. Robots are still in early adopter phase, but most decently scoring robots will be good for general day to day maintenance, but you'll still need to deep clean.
r/RobotVacuums • Making a decision is so hard! ->Based on those options, yeah, I would say the X8 Pro Omni should suit your needs. Just keep in mind it doesn't great obstacle avoidance, and that it has a lot of parts that need maintaining. If you experience any navigation/mapping issues like we did, I'd contact Ecovacs or look into replacing it with a Roborock, but of the ones I've seen on Amazon UK, none really beat the X8 in mopping and low pile carpet pickup performance. My pleasure, and thanks again for the feedback! :)
r/RobotVacuums • Making a decision is so hard! ->The Eufy S1 Pro is a decent robot. I didn't love testing it because I encountered some bugs and navigation issues, but that doesn't always translate to real life situations. It's good at mopping and should get the job done if you run it frequently, but it does struggle in corners (most mopping robots do). If you have a heavy stain, just run a spot clean in that area with 2 or 3 cycles, and it should get rid of it without much intervention from you. Just keep in mind the more you run the vacuum, the more you'll have to maintain the parts and the dock. It's also bad at low-pile carpets and okay at high pile, so if you add some in the future that would be something to keep in mind. If it's a really larger surface, I'd take battery life into consideration too, and the Eufy S1 pro is currently our best scoring in battery so it might be a good choice for you! To set proper expectations, you will still need to do a deep clean every once in a while with basically any robot vacuum available on the market now. That being said, I have an older S8 Pro Ultra at home, and while it didn't score that high on our mop test, I usually come home to shiny floor (hard wood) when I run it. I usually only have to spot clean with my cordless vacuum once a week for corners, and I don't remember the last time I mopped haha (I handwash the corners every few weeks though, which takes like 10-15 minutes in my small apartment). Hope this helps and have a great day!
r/RobotVacuums • Making a decision is so hard! ->Quick recap: OP asked if there was a potential defect with the battery, if spinning mop pads were enough for hard floors and if there was a loss of cleaning quality, and then for recs. I said it might be because 40 minutes of run time seemed too low for a new flagship. I mentioned that while spinning mop pads can sometimes worse, the roller mops are still new tech and The eufy S1 Pro actually did worse than the Roborock 10r in our test. Also, in my opinion, there's bound to be manufacturing issues for products that are being pushed out so quickly with a brand-new technology. I also mentioned that spinning mop pads have been the standard for the last two years and people were happy with them. I mentioned that the Ecovacs X8 Pro Omni is currently the best we've tested for mopping, and that both the Saros 10r and X8 have solid battery lives. Finally, Op asked if there were really problems with customer service for the brands based, and I just mention that I see complaints for all brands, including iRobot and Dyson. I don't think there are any that are really known for good customer service. Hope this helps.
r/RobotVacuums • 💬 Need advice: Should I return my Dreame Aqua Roller ? Terrible battery life despite great cleaning results ->The Ecovacs X8 Pro Omni is great for debris pickup and moping on hard floors. Its main drawbacks are it's mid-obstacle avoidance, carpet pickup, and it's tall so it can't fit under a lot of furniture, but it's at $999 with some replacement accessories, which I find is a great value. I haven't tested every model they have, but for a more budget option the Roborock QX Qrevo is also great for vacuum, has decent mopping, but its obstacle avoidance is quite awful. Roborock is better known for its reliability, but I find that the more recent robot vacuums aren't really built to last more than 3–5 years. The quality assurance has been a mixed bag from pretty much all the brands out there right now, from what I've seen in a lot of the post on here. That being said, Costco's return policy is pretty excellent if you're unhappy with it.
r/RobotVacuums • Which mopping robot? Costco Canada ->I think there is more like a suitable robovac than a perfect one. I dont know much about other brand but I am currently using Ecovacs and its been good. If you have more wet stains, you can check out Ecovacs X8 for its self-cleaning roller mops. If you want the robovac to deep clean your rug as well, the new T50 PRO MAX has great suction and carper recognition.
r/RobotVacuums • Best robot vacuum ->Well according to Vacuumwars's video review, X8 is actually a good one. Its now ranking #1 on Vacuum war's top 20 list, and Narwal Flow has no real solid reviews yet.
r/RobotVacuums • Best robot vacuum ->I have an ecovacs x8 pro omni and I’ve been using it for a few months. Most of my place has hard floors, so I run the mop almost every day. The roller mop does a good job, and I haven’t noticed it smearing dirt or leaving small spills behind.
r/Kochi • Anybody using robotic vaccum cleaner? Which brand is good and has good after sales service in Kochi/Kerala? ->For spit up stains, I would say def go with a self-cleaning roller mop type, you wouldn't want the spinning mop to spread everything around. I have ecovacs x8 and it works fine. But I would raise the water flow rate for dried stains. I heard x9 will be available soon, it can auto lift the brushes and mop. Eufy e25 and e28 is also highly recommended, maybe wait for those latest models.
r/RobotVacuums • Best robot mop/vacuum for hardwood floors and kids? ->Ecovacs x8 works for me. I like how the mop cleans itself while mopping. I moved my chairs and picked things up for it when it mapped, but sometimes I leave things where they are on regular daily cleaning, no bumping issues.
r/ecovacs • Best Robot Vacuum 2025 ->I've already ordered the X8, and it's on the way. But I did check out a video before i got it, and hope it can help you too:) [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QRa2SR4EJtw](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QRa2SR4EJtw)
r/RobotVacuums • Looking for feedback on Ecovacs deebot X8 pro omni vs Eufy S1 omni pro vs Eureka J20 robot vacuum mops ->I am currently using Ecovacs X8 pro omni. The vacuuming works great on my hardwood floor and living room carpet, easily removing all the embedded debris. I haven't noticed any hair tangle yet, totally worth a shot.
r/RobotVacuums • Help with choosing the right robot for my needs ->I’ve got the ecovacs X8 pro omni. My set up are two big dogs, 60% carpet, 40% hardwood. It plans neat vacuuming paths for carpets, and removes lots of pet hair and dust. I was worried the brush would get tangled with two big dogs’hair, but I haven't found yet after two weeks of using. After running, it will return to the dock to empty itself. I'm glad I don't have to deal with the hassle of taking out a bunch of dog hair lol
r/RobotVacuums • Of Pet Hair Collection ->We have the ecovacs x8 pro omni. It’s a simple but useful and functional model for us, easy to use and not too expensive.
r/smarthome • What are the current best robot vacuum cleaners that you're now swearing by for home? ->I’ve been waiting to upgrade my robot vacuumed (ecovac t8+) and just picked up an ecovac x8 pro Omni. Went with this model because I really hated all the mop designs on every robot vacuum up until this x8 models. Two spinning pads that just spread the dirty around really bugged me and I was mopping my floors with Bissell hydro steam mop vacuum. The x8 Omni is the first robot vacuum (that I know of) to have a roller mop that also self cleans while it is cleaning!!! It sprays the roller with fresh wash (or detergent mix if you choose to use some sort of solution) and it has a squeegee that cleans the dirt off the mop and stores the dirty water. From my understanding the x8 was announced at CES this year and I just saw that an x9 model was already announced not too long ago. Personally I’m kind of annoyed with how quickly a new flagship model has been released….
r/RobotVacuums • Best robot mopper, robot vacuum (no budget restriction) ->I used the X8 roller mop to clean my hardwood floors, and it was my first time trying a roller mop. I noticed it can mop with fresh running water when it was mopping, which is cool. Tbh, compared to the dual disc mop I used before, I think this one cleans better.
r/RobotVacuums • Eufy e25 or ecovacs x8 ->I checked out Eufy S1 before, but ended up having an Ecovacs X8. I've been using it for two weeks now. It works well on picking up hair and does not tangle with long hair. Haven't changed the dust bag yet, I think it might last up to 1 or 2 months.
r/RobotVacuums • What robovac would be best for 3 long haired dogs? ->I’m using the ecovacs x8 right now, but I heard there’s this mini one, the colorful series looks funny. When I saw it in videos, it was compact but still had all the features.
r/RobotVacuums • Best (and cheapest) robot for only vacuum ->I got the x8 from ecovacs, and it works really well. There are a few spots that need a quick touch-up because the robot can't reach them, but overall it's way less effort than before. I just set it on a schedule, and it keeps my floors clean. It needs a bit of maintenance now and then, but it's nothing compared to the time it saves me.
r/stupidquestions • For those who use Roomba or the like for cleaning floors, does it do a good job of replacing the cleaning method(s) used prior to it? ->My s5 is running the upstairs.. X8 omni - is .. such a precious princess a bit of cobweb on the sensors and it starts running in circles - needs a lot of babysitting.. While the S5 just eats poop and continues running through everything - yeah I washed it and it still runs more reliable than x8 omni .. I wish I went with xiaomi :/ Yeah ecovacs it’a really great - until it isn’t - took me a month and now I can’t return it.. If it starts running in circles - you’ll know
r/ecovacs • Old vs new one 😌 ->I have the X8 Pro Omni (kinda crazy how fast the X9 came out after the X8) and have had no issues, and it performs great. I do have a simple setup though, 2 BR apartment with all hard/vinyl floors, no carpets and no pets.
r/RobotVacuums • Ecovacs x9 Omni was a massive disappointment. ->Same boat. I just got a deebot with roller mop during prime day, my x8 cleans efficiently, and with its moving water mopping feature, I think it's a good fit for a less carpet family.
r/RobotVacuums • Best mopping Robot? ->I use mine almost every day to deal with my dog’s hair, it picks up the fur first and then does the mopping. Mine’s the deebot x8 with the roller mop, and it can wash the mop in real time on its own.
r/RobotVacuums • Budget Robot Vacuum + Mop Suggestions ->My cat’s a little shy, so she just watches the robot from a safe corner. I’m using the ecovacs x8 and it's been great, it picks up all her hair and does a solid job mopping the floors too.
r/RobotVacuums • Question about mopping with pets ->Yep the S1 made me see that mopping had finally caught up, but I ended up going with the Deebot X8 Omni (Both using the roller) instead both are great but we needed a good vacuum too for carpets and the Deebot excels at it over the S1. it's so nice to come home to a vacuumed and wonderfully mopped home.
r/RobotVacuums • How far has vacuum/mop combo units come? ->>I’m new to the robot vacuum world, but The Eufy S1 Pro seems to have a good system for mopping but lacks a bit with deep cleaning carpets. Thats why I went with the Deebot X8 Omni. Better vacuum performance, and roller mop is on par. If we had all tiling though, I'd go for the S1 purely on price alone.
r/RobotVacuums • How far has vacuum/mop combo units come? ->Ecovacs X8 pro omni. Its roller mop picks up mud instead of smearing it. Plus, and it can detects carpets and lifts the mop.
r/RobotVacuums • Best for mopping (muddy dog) and pet hair on carpet ->Dreame x50 will handle objects on the floor well, doesn’t tangle hair and mopping is pretty good. Not as good as the ecovacs x9/x8 for mopping. But for everything else really good.
r/RobotVacuums • Advice, best mop/vacuum combo ->Roller mops hands down. Are there some screwed up roller mops? You bet! Eufy S1, E28 and E25 are great. So are the Ecovacs roller mops.
r/RobotVacuums • Which of these two kinds of Robot Vacuum Mop you think is better? ->I love ours. I do NOT recommend the Roomba however, as their mapping software is awful and I have to spend a lot of time babysitting and reprogramming it. Having a self emptying vacuum is essential, otherwise it's not worth the hassle. I love the self washing mop option. Ecovacs Omni self emptying combo vacuum / mop is great on our hard surface floors but mediocre on rugs and carpet. I believe Roborocks may hit the sweet spot of vacuuming carpets well with the double roller design that works so well for Roomba, while having decent map handling. All that being said, an alternative that made a big difference for us is a good stick vacuum from Dyson or Shark. Take the time to hang the charger in as place where you can quickly grab the vacuum as needed. I bought a second "stick" so we call swap between the carpet head and hard surface floor head quickly and easily. Do your research now and then wait for Black Friday sales. You can check online but are likely to get better prices actually going into a store to get the item if possible. Costco and Target have had great sales on these in the past.
r/dogs • Is a Roomba-like vacuum worth it for dogs? I need to be de-influenced for my wallets sake ->Yeah, my Ecovacs with lidar cruised through our open floorplan house and made the map in under 10 minutes, as compared to days of clearing the floor and running the Roomba for hours. And the Ecovacs doesn't continuously override the map and add or delete rooms, move the base station to think it's *inside* the wall, or do any of the other idiocy that Roomba keeps doing.
r/dogs • Is a Roomba-like vacuum worth it for dogs? I need to be de-influenced for my wallets sake ->I live by mine. Deebot with self emptying. Has full map and Lidar so barely gets caught. Starts when I leave home and when I return it docks and empties. I barely see it.
r/IsItBullshit • IsItBullshit: are robot vacuums actually good and worth the money? ->We started with one iRobot, it worked great! Later decided on a brava (iRobot mop) and it worked amazingly! I was in my doctorate program and didn’t have time to clean the floors. We have two small dogs and five children. The floors are one thing I don’t have to worry about anymore. We recently moved and purchased two combo vacuum and mop, one is iRobot and the other is ecovacs. I like the ecovac more, it seems smarter, however they both do a great job. We have three stories so there are robot vacuum on each floor, they run every day, this keeps the stairs pretty clean and I vacuum the stairs once a week. Our original robot is eight years old and runs fine with daily use.
r/homeowners • Are robot vacuums worth it? I’ve got 4 small kids and I’m always sweeping up the kitchen. Now I have a crawling baby so I’m thinking about getting a robot vacuum, preferably the mop/vacuum kind but they are so expensive! Curious if they are worth it and an investment. ->I run my whole smart home primarily on smartthings, about 150 devices, so it can definitely work as a great platform. One of the problems though, is that any premium device type that Samsung makes (Washer, dryer, vacuum, tv) they always make the third party integrations either not function or be pretty much useless if it does. They want you to buy the Samsung stuff at a $$ premium. For a vacuum I use an ecovacs vacuum mop combo. It doesn't work with smartthings, but because my robot vacuum doesn't really need to interact with anything else, it's never been an issue. Highly recommend ecovacs, roborock, or eufy as brands.
