I've got the Eureka E20 Plus. Does a great job for $200. I also really like watching the dog hair spin around in the catch basin when it empties. I've got the Eureka E20 Plus. It's been great so far, even with my wife's long hair and a very sheddy dog. For some reason the black one is $400 new and the white $200. Weird.

# [Under $300](https://amzn.to/48R0G4J) Generally speaking, I think its rare you find a great robot at this price, and I've discussed why there's some sense in [not spending the money on real discount robots](https://www.whatrobotvacuumshouldiget.com/2025/06/20/are-budget-robot-vacuums-worth-buying/). Still... there are a few gems worth looking at, as more expensive models drop under this threshold. If you've got a smaller place, or a place with many floor objects, try a Switchbot. Because they're so small, they can get between chair legs and make a small radius around things. Switchbot just doesn't get enough attention, IMO. Lots of people purchased the K10+ Pro on my recommendation during Prime Day and have posted about how happy they are. The 11 made the tower smaller and improved some other specs, but is mostly the same model. The perfect apartment, studio, or office vac. Performs spectacularly well as a vacuum, particularly given the price and stats, but it is ONLY a vacuum. If you're more concerned about a mop, get the 3i. (its great at both, to be clear, but it has the best mop of the bunch). I really like the 3i brand, they're not new, they've been making robots for other companies for years. The G10 is stripped down from premium models, but it had the same sweeper>roller design that is so effective on the higher end models. If you're looking for a carpet forward model, Eureka is the only legacy vacuum brand that successfully transitioned to robots that work. While no brand has great customer service anymore, there's a benefit to Eureka being US based. That L40 Ultra has dropped from the original price of $1499 to under $500. So many people have been grabbing this model since Prime Day and most of them report being quite happy. While it wouldn't have been my favorite at a higher price, at this price, you're getting a premium model at an absurd sale price. I absolutely love the 3i current line up. The vacuum and mop are both fantastic and the app-easy. This is basically my top pick (3i S10 Ultra) minus the dehumidifier. The P10 still has the great sweep/roller design and gets up debris no other brand can without getting clogged. Get this one if you're concerned about larger debris. The Eureka is better than it should be. I loved the sweeper design, it moved debris off hard floors and carpet very effectively and would be my pick for carpet. A variant of the Qrevo line, with spinning mop heads that extend. The L40S is the best of both worlds. A premium vac, at a not premium price for now. This is the model with the best balance on this list, of vacuum and mop. My two issues w this model are that it uses a ridiculous amount of water and there's a giant button on top of the machine your pet or kid will want to bop. The CurvX improves on the Curv with higher Pa and better nav. I do think its a better vacuum than mop. The X9 is a better mop than vacuum. but other than getting clogged here and there, was generally a good vacuum, and this is a reasonable price for it. Eureka is the best surprise this year. The J15 line is consistent and reliably performing. Let's start with my favorite robot of all time (a BIG statement). 3i has been making robots for other brands for a while, but the 3i is their first flagship. The S10 Ultra blew me away and became the only robot I've ever kept after testing. It will vacuum anything, without getting stuck or clogged. I mean, giant pieces of mulch. No problem. It cleans water on its own and generates more from the air, so it truly is set it and forget it. Totally autonomous. I've been yapping about it for months, and of everyone who bought it during Prime Day, I'd say people were split, 60/40. Most loved it, but some complained of a musty smell, which makes sense, since the unit is basically a dehumidifier (that's how it generates water). I've had mine for 6 months and don't notice a smell in a very wet state (Oregon), but it seems like something worth noting. So let's talk about the Flow. I tested the Dreame and Narwal roller mops, (and previously, the Eufy roller mops). Everyone is obsessed with roller mops, but the Flow is the first one I recommend. The flow improves on the Freo Z and X by not needing to be refilled constantly, and the vacuum improves over all other Narwal models. I've been testing and reviewing robovacs (and other smart home products) for a few years. I test products in my home, rather than an obstacle course, but I am the only one who tests each machine, so its apples to apples. I also have a messy house- pitted tile, rugs, wood floors, and carpet, with a few high transitions. I have a dog (and occasionally, chickens who breach the doggie door to come inside) and am a very physical cook, according to my kitchen floor. You definitely do not have to agree with my choices, but I think I have a different viewpoint than a lot of other outlets, mostly because I am the person responsible for cleaning my home, and I make all buying decisions. I want robots to be the accessibility and labor removing dream of the future, but I like to set realistic expectations. **Under $200** Cheap robots are getting better, and one of my absolute favorites is in this category. But generally speaking, these are vacuums. Yes, they come with mops, but those mops suck. Ignore them and enjoy a cheap, usually pretty good vacuum for the price. Pay attention, because at this price point, some models don't come with towers, meaning you have to empty them yourself, every day or so (unless you live in a VERY clean home). The SwitchBot is tiny. Its like a little M&M moving around your floor, but one that comes with ridiculously high suction power for the price, and a tower. It can get into spaces no other bot can, and it does it shockingly well. Its good on carpet, but shines on hard floors. If you've got carpet, go with the Eureka- its got a dock AND its bagless (which is a big deal to some people). But Eureka has just really figured out how to get a robot to deal with carpet well. I am also a big fan of the 3i G10. I included the Roborock, because look at that price drop, and RR's are, IMO, very reliable. Again... all three of these models have mops. They suck. Its got a great mop, (spinning pads, no rollers in this price band), sanitizes the pads in the tower, high suction, great nav. I've included the Eureka, even with a not great discount, because if you have a LOT of carpet, you might want to consider it instead. Outrageous suction, hot water wash, it has a cutter for long hair, etc. BUT.... that Qrevo, despite having less than half the suction of the L40, is better at vacuuming on hard floors and carpet. two reasons: Roborocks are good at positioning the sweep/rollers/suction in a way that works, and also, having a dual roller rather than one helps keep tangles from happening, the extending arm helps a lot to grab under things. I've included the S1, a robot I could not have been less enthused about when [I tested it](https://lifehacker.com/tech/eufy-omni-s1-pro-robot-vacuum-review), because people love Eufys (I don't) and they love a roller mop. It managed to get the kitchen sparkle-clean after a full day of canning where the floor was a mess. It got debris easily, navigated complicated layouts and did a great job mopping. It had issues with bathmats, but all robots do. The X9 was a far [better mop than vacuum](https://lifehacker.com/tech/ecovacs-deebot-x9-pro-omni-review) when I tested it as a flagship, but at this lower price, I have few complaints. Its a gorgeous robot and tower, and its a roller mop and people are convinced they're better (I'm iffy, but that's neither here nor there). Finally, I could not let you pass on the J15, which I love as a deep cleaning vacuum with a good mop, but its definitely vacuum forward (and I mean on hard floors, too). The Eurekas have a very well designed triad of big sweep, roller and suction that gets a lot of debris, but more importantly, there's a razor that cuts long hair so it doesn't clog. It has it all: Gigantic sweeps which get everything, rollers that never clog, suction that actually picks everything off the floor. A roller mop that works really well. But... sit down. The damn thing sanitizes dirty water and then makes new water by acting as a dehumidifier. *You never change the water.* Like, ever. Sure, it weighs like 70lbs and looks like a kids science museum exhibit, but its quiet and perfect and the child I always wanted :) There have been rumors of 3i's demise, a complicated story involving their company buying iRobot. But.. I have spoken to 3i and they assure me there is absolutely no news about them closing the 3i brand. And, this is is a good price for it (it was $1899 last year). But... if you're gunshy on a "new" brand.... I can make things easy. People are always trying to decide between the Dreame X50 and the Roborock Saros 10/10r. Get the Dreame (its such a steal at this price, and I didn't see a big difference between the X50 and X60 in testing). They try to decide between the Narwal Flow and the Dreame Aqua. Get the Flow (the Aqua leaked). There's nothing in that band that I think is a great buy or necessary. If you love to tinker or have a kid that does, there's a good price on the Saros Z70, but its for tinkering. I didn't love it at cleaning, and its an expensive tinker toy. I'm testing the Saros 20 right now, so nothing to report yet. And I don't think anything else in that band stands out. Spend less. **Some notes on recommendations** Whenever I do this, the comments often ask, "but what about the xxxxxx?" or "why didn't you recommend the xxxx?". The answers are, in this order, "it wasn't as good as what I recommended", and "because I didn't want to" :P If you still want to buy something I didn't recommend, go for it! For instance, I am not recommending any iRobots right now. I'm happy they were acquired and really excited at what Picea (which owns 3i) may bring to the brand. But the existing lineup sucks. I'm iffy on Ecovacs, and at certain price points they're worth recommending, but I've never found a flagship I thought was great. People love Eufy bots, but I've rarely been impressed. Still, one made the list. I based this list on what was for sale, not every robot available. I think these are good buys and I think you should buy them from Amazon or Costco. Costco, if you can, because of their return policy, and Amazon because they hassle you less on returns than the brands themselves, do, a real swing and a miss for the brands, IMO. I just got the eureka e20s because it's on sale on Amazon. Best features for me was basic object avoidance and bagless. As a childless single, that was perfect for me.

Pass. Got the 20e plus with bagless station and I'm rather underwhelmed. Software / mapping is a pain to use, had to remap 10x. Mopping is a pain to use, obstacle avoidance is non existent. You need a absolutely safe environment for it to work in, so be prepared to to 99% of the cleaning first. Got decided to grab a USB cable and dragged it back to the station, and was unable to dock without help. In short it vacuums OK.

I mean compared to the non lidar cheapo I replaced , the eureka does pretty good at mapping and object avoidance. It has yet to run over my cat or my 9 month old haha and it lifts the mop to cross thresholds and lifts to avoid carpet while cleaning and mopping mixed surfaces. Do you have a house full of unstable displays of china or something ? And I can’t relate , I have a garage where my bin lives and dealing with a bag and the amount of husky hair I empty would have me spending 500$ or more on bags that get tossed and fill up landfills plus dust comes out of the bag anyways and you still need to dump out the cavity every so often , also the robot itself has filters that need to be maintained what’s 2 more from the bag less canister going to hurt lol. To each their own , I guess ! For me I needed a hair destroyer that didn’t use bags that are unsustainable waste.

I have a eureka E20 plus. It is amazing with long hair and pet hair. If has a rubber brush that you can take in and out to clean. I just love it.
