Get the robovac. I have two doodles and they shed. I like the new iLife because it has an open shoot for the hair (as opposed to roller bar where the hair was getting stuck) and it self empties and mops. Saves me so much time. I run it every day. Also, I let my dogs on the furniture but I keep everything covered with old sheets until I want to sit on it. Not pretty but I love the dogs so they are definitely allowed on the furniture and it keeps my couch hair free. ILIFE A12 PRO https://a.co/d/fqyHWkW I use this one. It's inexpensive and works really well on wood floors because it lacks a brush. This increases airflow and the ability to pick up fine dust and hair. It also requires very little maintenance like cutting hair from the brush roller. It navigates very well and the app is very good with napping and selecting scheduled cleaning. The consumables are very inexpensive too. I've been using ILife for a long time and I'm very happy with them. I have hardwood throughout my house and have had more expensive robots but this one is the one to get.
I just got a robot vac, iLife A12 Pro. Because I was tired of the little bits of stuff I would find sticking to my feet. I like to leave my windows open and I go to the beach often, but I dont want to vacuum daily. I did a big clean myself of the floors (1 bedroom apartment with hardwood) to start fresh, and get the robot vac busy on certain rooms when I feel like it needs it. So far so good, the amount of little bits on the floor has decreased. Its kind of fun to use it too. Apparently it can mop too, although I haven't tried that yet.
In 2020 I got what at the time was an off-brand (it wasnt a Roomba) called iLife, and it just died a few months ago, after running almost every day on my old dusty carpeting that used to have 2 dogs. I was so horrified that I was still getting dog hair every day in that thing YEARS after both dogs had passed. Every day, dust and crud and hair. My hair too, good Lord how is there any on my head. Anyway, I upgraded to a self-emptying one of the same brand and it is SO great. Highly recommend, and much cheaper than the original. I chage the little filter every week on the old one, and the new one sends me a message when either the small filter or the bag in the collection unit needs changing.
If you get one, save the packaging and buy the extended warranty so you can get a refund when it dies. My first two (different manufacturers) lasted about 2 years each and then behaved erratically, spinning in place or repeatedly ramming furniture. Sending them back for repairs was too pricey so I trashed them. The third one I bought was an iLife which was only $180, and it lasted about 3 years, until the rechargeable battery died. I trashed that too because I couldn’t find a replacement battery that fit the compartment. It was a weird triangle shape. iLife said they didn’t sell those as replacement parts and didn’t have any suggestions on where I could obtain one.
Whichever brand you plan to buy, first understand how the service works. For ilife I had to ship it to Delhi and was asked to pay 3/4th of the entire unit cost to repair. Its all good until it stops working. So, have a clear understanding of the warranty, parts covered and most of all, where are the service centre’s.
I tried many of the name brand vacuum robots - iRobot, Eufy, Shark. They’re all so disappointing and SO expensive. Mapping is a joke. So is mopping. Right now I have two iLIFE robots. They are cheap and brainless but have good vacuum suction and do a decent job except when it comes to getting stuck under objecting, attempting to suck up cat toys, electrical cables, and clean corners. LOL! Why two? These are cheap so I bought one and then said to myself, you are going to regret not buying a replacement. And at $200 a piece I am fine with that.
