I have been looking for one for years. My solution had been to just toss our old one in the shop when we upgrade the one in the house. My wife ran over one, they survive for about 6-12 months. True industrial ones are just stupid expensive. If you can find a used i-mop on eBay, that's the ticket, but it's not automatic.
We have the mop vac combo (forgive me, I don't remember what exact model, but I DO know it is the self emptying combo w\ the removable dust filter "trash' bags, and has a grey "tweed" designer -look on the top. That probably makes no sense). At any rate, I LOVE the vacuum feature, esp the self-emptying component. However, the few times I have attempted to use the mopping feature, it has not worked well at all. Admittedly, my model could be a slightly older model, like maybe last year's, so take that for what it's worth. It starts off fine, but after no more than 10 min if that, it seems to get stuck. What it's stuck on is beyond me because it happens in dining room each time & sounds like it's spinning it's wheels (like a car stuck in mud). There are no rugs, chairs are moved out of the way & there's no visible debris obstacles like one of my son's marbles or a plastic milk cap or anything. Literally just hardwood flooring. I've tried rebooting, I've tried popping the water/mop pad on & mopping immediately (thinking it would help reduce soaking & "puddling" near the wheels), I've tried wiping the wheels and following behind it to wipe up the drag marks of water. But it still spins & does nothing. I can't complain too much as I won it at my husband's Xmas work party raffle, and like I said the vac feature is excellent. Since we have a young son & a dog that sheds constantly, I'm ok w/just the vac👌
I have both the combo and the vac only. They are different beasts, the combo has two side brushes is very heavy and very tall. The vac only has one side brush and is a lot lighter and a little shorter in height. Both are good at cleaning up the dried mud, grit and plant material that drops of my gardening boots and both cope with crumbs and general mess very well. I prefer the combo on my hard floors, simply because it mops as it goes, so anything the brushes miss, the mop gets. They both work just as well on carpet. The combo takes more looking after and for me is proving less reliable, its currently in for repair because a side brush stopped turning. Both navigate very well, I've not had one get stuck, but they are large and neither of mine can get through my chair legs, they will just scoot around them. The vac only is lighter, easy to move from one floor to the other. If it was the vac only out of order, I doubt I'd move the combo up and down every day, it's just too heavy for me, but age is not on my side, you might not find it an issue. The downsides are, they both have a bin bag bug, every once in a while they swear blind there is no bag or the bag is full, it isn't, you need to take the bag out and shake the contents down and put the bag back. Both do this occasionally, the instruction book tells you to just shake the contents down. The vac only has no ramp, it sits directly onto your floor, which is OK on hard floor and low pile carpet, but could be an issue on high pile. The app is fine now, its got all the features of the old one. I can't help with pet hair as I have no pets. If reliability and mostly hands off are high on your list, get the vac only, but for my tiled floors, I prefer the roller mop. They both look after 1500 sq ft daily, the batteries last well. The vac only is working hard doing the full 3000 sq ft a day without any issue.
Roomba Combo models are so lame compared to older iRobot products! I know, I've tried one. Highest rated are Roborock and Dreame. I'm very happy with my Dreame bots.
must…..resist….robot vacuum. I got the Roomba like $8-900 combo mop/vac recently and am not too impressed with it for the retail value. I’m half tempted to try this one as it’s in my RFY, but I’m hoping someone else claims it as I don’t really need it 🤣
Bought a vac and mop roomba. I now that myself now maybe a month. I call my cleaning lady less frequently. So yes.
I bought the best roomba (mop and vacuum) on the market and I feel my floors and carpet being less dusty. Not saying you should buy an expensive one but consider the mop and vacuum combo
