One cat is part Persian, so yes. My girlfriend is not Persian at all, but has long hair, so yes. I have an ancient Roomba E5, but honestly, clearing the floor so it can bang itself against the walls for an hour is a chore. It's on its way out, so I'll probably get an L50 or X50 soon. I'm in the worse parts of the EU so consumer protection laws are there, but frowned upon.
Irobot e5 from 2019. Replaced battery and still going.
Older the better. Roomba e5 here for garage use. Twice a week. Been going for at least 3 years. Got it second hand because battery dead. First person had it for 3 years Aftermarket battery and all good. 6 years and still going.
A used iRobot Roomba e5 for 30€
Hello, We are moving to a new place. Due to high shipping cost, we decided to give up shipping Roomba j7+ and buy a new one. Could you suggest robot vacuum(s) for me? I have been using iRobot products only, but I heard that now Roborock is better than iRobot, so I am open to choose brands other than iRobot. Below is my information: \- Roomba e5 Our first Roomba. I didn't like no mapping function, so I sold after a few years and bought Roomba j7+ \- Braava jet m6 Our first mopping robot. Overall I liked it but I thought frequent mopping damaged our vinyl floor, so I sold it. I was unhappy that Braava jet m6 can't climb up thresholds. Now I use Swiffer Power Mop occasionally. \- Roomba j7+ Our second Roomba. I like it so far. I love the feature that allows me to vacuum specific area only. I also like "Keep Out Zone" function. Many thanks in advance for your advice.
Thank you very much for your reply. You are really giving me great insights to reconsider my plan in a positive way. We probably avoid carpet because our preschool aged child still makes the floor messy. That's also the reason why I bought Swiffer Power Mop, because when I need to wipe very quickly, I thought Swiffer Mop is better than mopping robot. However, I do mop kitchen very frequently and every time I use Swiffer Power Mop to clean the kitchen, I miss braava. Another thing I didn't like about braava is that once it finishes mopping I had to remove the mopping pad quickly because it starts to smell. I quickly checked the 2 robots you recommend, and shocked to know they even wash and dry the mops!
I bought the Roomba e5 a bunch of years back. I always saw its software as not good enough. It would spin one way, whilst the brush would spin the same way too, and nothing would get picked up. The speed of the brush was also annoying as it would fling cat kibbles in locations where it couldnt possibly pick them up later, I believe they reduced it in later variations of the roomba. Never even released a software update for mine. It was too aggressive in hitting walls so much that it would hit the kitty water bowl and get the floor wet.
Not aware of any random navigation models avaliable with a self empty station. At least none that are currently avaliable and work adequately well. Even budget models are more often including lidar and app functionality. Your options are going to be limited no matter what, and all the random navigation models are going to be the cheapest of the cheap now and unlikely to perform all that well. It might be worth finding a used irobot roomba e5 or 800 series model or similar. Those are about the highest performance random navigation models irobot ever made. You could also look for a 980 which had smart navigation but works totally offline if you prefer.
I'm still using mu Roomba e6 , i7+ and Briavia mopper and they work perfectly in cleaning my place. IMO, no need for the newest most expensive robot :)
Yep have two kids and it’s great. There are some pain points. Like you gotta clean up all them toys to give it any chance of making it around but sure this is just tidying anyways. Sometimes you have to clean the charging pads on the base of the unit (this happens like every 2/3 weeks for me which drives me bonkers) - 750e iRobot 😭 I have one that mops too - I honestly wouldn’t say no to the mop and Hoover versions op. Floors look amazing when it’s done - just takes double the time of course. I wish I remembered to use it more. Typically when kids are out of house and one of us working from home it gets fired up You of course still need to vacuum almost as much as before but it’s you end up using the vacuum for when the kids open the Weetabix box carefully across the entire kitchen 😂
