"A good robovac is a life changer. Even a $350 basic S8. It is a great place to start. ... I promise you that you will not be disappointed by a basic S8. It will change your life even if it can't fit under every piece of furniture you own. ... My two S8s just finished vacuuming our entire house in about 46 minutes. ... While my floors were being cleaned, I sat comfortably on our patio in the cool shade with a slight breeze and composed my far too long response to you while sipping a diet soda and relaxing. ... I will have to spend about four minutes maintaining my two S8s. This will be my entire contribution to my home floor cleaning effort for today. Four minutes!"

"Like 500$ these robots are currently the steal of the century ... You can get a mova p10 pro ultra (cannot remove its mops), equivalent to the l40/x40 for 500$ after a discount code"

"I got the Q5 Pro for $139. ... costs $450 less than what I paid for the S6 ... it is the best value option out there imo."

"I have really long hair and two Belgian Malinoises that spend half their day in their kiddie pool (one is a double long coat). My vacuum Walleee is amazing and joke that I'm in love with a robot lol."

"It keeps up with all their hair, just needs more frequent dust bag replacements."

"The pockets of fur from my chihuahua is gone."

"It’s is SO MUCH more quiet than the s7 it ramped up the suction power from 4000 to 19000 yet I can let it clean my office room while being in a call now."

"Extremely quiet compared to our last one to the point where we can have it running while my partner is in work meetings (besides emptying water and dust bin, but that is 10 seconds of loud x 2)."

"pads that lift on carpet so you can run it while the baby naps"

"The USPs for me are its ability to punch through a sofa valance to clean underneath and to go under my 8cm TV cabinet."

"have furniture that it can fit under while the curv can't. ... For us the answer was "Never lift the couch in a team effort ever again to clean under? Please take our money!!!""

"it's only around 8cm tall ... so it can get under most things no problem ... it just makes cleaning underneth the bed super easy"

"Get one with the emptying station and you can leave it untouched for months."

"splurge for the self emptying because if you have to empty it every time you're less likely to use it. We only have to empty ours like once a month and I have a 14mo and a 3yo who drop crumbs everywhere. ... we have a Shark with a large self emptying bin and that thing is great for the price point."

"It saved me so much anxiety and time because I was constantly fighting to make my floors feel clean. ... Now I just have to spot clean and vacuum the corners where the robot can’t reach."

"was mithered with it trying to map the house"

"I have a roomba we named homewrecker because it leaves a trail of destruction behind it. ... It always knocks over something or gets tangled up in wires."

"their battery isn't lasting any longer than 1h at most"

"The usb doesn’t work anymore. ... It just makes a nonstop sound screeching sounds whenever a sound it played through them. ... That happened within the first month of having them."

"battery died just months after warranty expired."

I love mine, use it at least once a day due to the amount of shedding my dogs do. not a deep cleaner but works great keeping things under control. bought one for my son and he loves it too.

Reading this I wonder if robot vacuums are ready for prime time -- all of them. I have two Lefants. One worked great for years, the second one required a call to Amazon's tech help within the month. They told me how to do a factory reset. That worked for about a month. Then it started beeping continuously and wouldn't run. What it had must be contagious (snark) because the one that worked great started doing something similar -- runs about one minute then stops and starts beeping. Tech help was no help. My guess is it might be something to do with my wireless so I'm not sure I can blame the robot. Maybe if they went back to the drawing board and just made a robot you didn't have to use your phone to work. That would take one unknown out of the problem of fixing them when they go wrong. Just an observation after reading the posts here.

lol what the fuck got up OPs ass about robot vacs? I have a LeFant I got for $90. Thing runs 4 hours or so on one charge. I run it every day. I only empty it once a week. The maintenance I put in takes literally 3 minutes. It saves me at least an hour worth of sweeping a week.

I have a cheapo LeFant that I got for free. Just swapped the battery. It's only a vacuum. I swear by it. We only have 1 kid but the crap that, that thing sucks up is incredible. Sometimes it even gets little toys. It's a heck of a machine. I'd recommend it.

r/homeowners • Are robot vacuums worth it? I’ve got 4 small kids and I’m always sweeping up the kitchen. Now I have a crawling baby so I’m thinking about getting a robot vacuum, preferably the mop/vacuum kind but they are so expensive! Curious if they are worth it and an investment. ->

I'm sitting here regretting my Lefant purchase from 18 months ago. I'm sure you weren't thinking of going that cheap, but in case you're tempted. I'm shopping again.

I have a cheap Lefant robot vac that I run every night that is well worth it, only paid $100 and it keeps my floors very clean with 2 dogs. Like it better than the shark I paid 5x as much for.

A robot vaccum is worth it, IMO, but there are cheaper models than a Roomba. We had an Ecovacs Deebot for several years and now we have a Lefant model. We bought both heavily discounted on Amazon Prime day.

Yes it is, we have two adult Siberians and I run two robots daily (because the house is on different levels). The difference is amazing and we can see it with a naked eye, but we can also feel it under the slippers because the floor is less dusty. The least expensive of the two is a Lefant M210, which I bought for 99 when it was discounted on Amazon but it's available on AliExpress for less than $40 and it's exactly the same, since the brand is Chinese. This one is obviously more "stupid" than the other fancy robot we have from Dreame, but avoids steps and works around obstacles nonetheless (with a lot more bumps). On the brighter side, it's smaller and less tall than the Dreame, so it doesn't get stuck as much and works under more furniture. Even better, it doesn't have a main brush, just an open mouth that vacuums hairs and powder extremely well. This is great because it's one less thing that you have to clean from tangled hair and other stuff. The filter and the little side brushes can be replaced once in a while for very cheap, and this is CRUCIAL because the filter can't be washed and our robot caught vomit once. We were able to clean it!
