Couple things… If you’re expecting perfection, you won’t get that. They’re great, but they still can’t move doors or furniture - which is something a human can do. So you’ll still need to do some cleaning yourself. Joe often depends on what level of cleanliness you want and how obsessed you are. I personally feel those are great for people who may not have the physical energy or ability to do regular cleaning. And for households with pets that require more frequent vacuuming. In terms of space… yes, they’re pretty bulky. I started with low cost one with tiny base that would only vacuum (Lefant M213). It for under a furniture piece, so didn’t take any space at all. But it had limitations. Pretty dumb (no map or AI), and couldn’t mop. Still, it did the job. If you’re looking for mopping, it will be more expensive and bulkier. Just got the Mova P10, and it’s great, now I don’t have to break my back to mop the floor, and it vacuums much better as well. But its base is big for my tiny apartment. And the robot itself is a bit bigger (width and height) so it struggles more in tiny spaces and can no longer go under some of the furniture. But it’s an acceptable trade off in my case. I also appreciate that it’s using mostly hot water for cleaning… given my allergies to cleaning products. Ultimately, it depends on your needs and what you consider acceptable, what you’re willing to trade off.

Reading this I wonder if robot vacuums are ready for prime time -- all of them. I have two Lefants. One worked great for years, the second one required a call to Amazon's tech help within the month. They told me how to do a factory reset. That worked for about a month. Then it started beeping continuously and wouldn't run. What it had must be contagious (snark) because the one that worked great started doing something similar -- runs about one minute then stops and starts beeping. Tech help was no help. My guess is it might be something to do with my wireless so I'm not sure I can blame the robot. Maybe if they went back to the drawing board and just made a robot you didn't have to use your phone to work. That would take one unknown out of the problem of fixing them when they go wrong. Just an observation after reading the posts here.

lol what the fuck got up OPs ass about robot vacs? I have a LeFant I got for $90. Thing runs 4 hours or so on one charge. I run it every day. I only empty it once a week. The maintenance I put in takes literally 3 minutes. It saves me at least an hour worth of sweeping a week.

My son has Roborock mop and vacuum and it works great. I have tiny home and bought the Lefant one from Amazon just for vacuuming and it does great for my small space. If you run it everyday, you'll be shocked at what it finds, especially if you have pets. It easily goes under furniture which is nice. It does a little of the baseboards, but you might have to wipe them down depending on the style and height.

A robot vaccum is worth it, IMO, but there are cheaper models than a Roomba. We had an Ecovacs Deebot for several years and now we have a Lefant model. We bought both heavily discounted on Amazon Prime day.

I have the same number of animals. I broke down and bought a cheaper sort of robotic vacuum, without all the bells and whistles. I run it every other day—sometimes daily. I think I paid $95 for it on Amazon. I live in under 1000 square feet. It is a Lefant. One day I will upgrade to one with greater capabilities, but for now it is heaven.

I bought a lefant during black Friday, said it was $600msrp and on sale for $180... Honestly didn't expect much, but other than it failing to dock due to it being too close to a corner, haven't had any issues. Moved the dock to a new spot and it's been smooth sailing since.

I just got one for Christmas! I cheaped out and bought a Lefant which was cheaper than Eufy, and I regret it a little as its mapping skills are... limited. So I can't just program it and trust it to clean everywhere, not get sick and come back to it's charging base. But if I put it at one end of a room and let it run, I can then do something else or just relax, and it's nice to make a weekly chore I didn't like doing into a game. Because it's not super efficient I run it twice a week, but that makes my house much cleaner compared to a big scrub once a week 😊
