And that's why I keep sticking on my Miele Scout RX2. The WiFi board can even be removed to use it in places where even having a WiFi module is considered a security issue.
AS FAR AS I'M CONCERN, I WILL NEVER EVER PURCHASE ANOTHER WIRELESS VACUUM CLEANER!!! BAD EXPERIENCE WITH THEM. IMPOSSIBLE TO GET AN REPLACEMENT BATTERY!!!!!!!!!!. MY VACUUM ONLY LASTED 8 MONTHS. MY MIELE IS MY BEST FRIEND
As your goal is to avoid Chinese products, I would think about longevity as well as where it's designed. If you only have to buy one that lasts for 10 years, you're still avoiding buying 5 things from China that only last 2 years each. With that in mind, I'd recommend the Miele. It's by far the most durable. It takes a little more maintenance and isn't as convenient as the shark, but it does a good job and would be worth it in the long run.
It depends on your home! I have several little kiddos leaving mess and toys. And other stuff cluttering some areas. I think a robot vacuum would suck up a lot of small toys/objects and food, so I often actually sweep rather than vacuum, or before vacuuming. Rather than a roomba, we got a Miele, which works well and is quiet, but costs more than some other kinds. If you don’t have objects all over your floor, it’s a great idea! I know people with shedding dogs that had spotless, dog hair-free homes, thanks to the robo-vac.
