"Overall, for $450 (even $500 like it is now) it’s absolutely amazing and I highly recommend it. ... It’s a night and day difference coming from my eufy l40 hybrid. NIGHT AND DAY. ... Resounding BUY from me."
"For the price and what it does and I never have to worry about gritty floors for my bare feet...best damn entry level vacuum robot from where I stand."
"the p10 ultra isn’t the best robot vacuum in its price range? Of course it is. ... mova is cheaper ... mova is premium while being cheaper ... Also the q revo isn’t half the deal thisvis"

"When i run everyday to vacuum first then mop, the floors were noticeably cleaner and my wood floors had a sheen to them and felt softer over time. Much more barefoot friendly if you ask me."

"The best feature of the L40/X40/p10 pro ultra is that they have class leading object avoidance so you don't have to pick up your cat's toys or prep your house every time you want to run the robot meaning you can run it on a daily schedule which will keep your house cleaner. ... I run my X40s daily and they never get stuck on cables, cat toys and other random junk that ends up on the floor."
"one of the best features is probably the obstacle avoidance. ... In the 300 hours that I've run the robots, they have practically never gotten stuck on cords, cat toys or other common household obstacles, maybe 1-2% of the time. ... This means I can run the robot every night reliably and wake up to the robot sitting in its dock and have a clean floor to start the day."
"It can actually navigate over bath mats on stone floor (my eufy would never)."

"impressed no hair caught on the roller unlike the roomba I been using. ... P10 pro ultra with tricut has worked great with long hair from my daughter, wife, and 4 cats 😁."
"The L40 is one of the top performing robots for the money and has excellent hair tangle resistance since you can run the tricut brush. ... I have 2x Dreame x40s and they have the same brush system as the l40 and I have one running the tricut and one without it. Both have been excellent with resisting hair wrap with the tricut having zero hair tangled on it and the regular brush having a small amount on the ends."

"The bigger issue is that the paths are not as tight and overlapping. ... When I look at the cleaning paths with the MOVA On the tightest setting with the max number of passes (x3) It has nowhere near the coverage of the qrevos and the carpet is not clean. ... The Revos get really tight around legs while the MOVA barely tries to approach. ... Both my Qrevos are much quieter than the p10 ultra and actually leave the carpets looking clean."
"Beat the hell out of the MOVA P10 Pro for me on carpets. ... I returned the MOVA."
"its pickup on my low-pile rug and generic apartment bedroom carpet was very abysmal. ... I have no hair and my 11lb chihuahua has short hair and it can’t even pickup the hair on the carpet after I vacuumed hours before with my regular vacuum. ... I don’t understand why it doesn’t even get short hair Chihuahua hair off my low pile rug that’s not even a few hours old after running the large vacuum. ... The brush, well either brush option, doesn’t agitate carpets which is weird it’s bounces around is flexible up and down."

"It seems that there is NOT an official kit from Mova. Kinda weird considering the P10 has hookups for plumbing in"
Yes, and the mova p10 pro ultra is basically the dreame L40 ultra So whichever you can buy cheaper, get that. (If you're in California, the L40 is on sale for $449 at any store until mothers day? Comes with a few accessories)
It was fine but I returned it for 2 reasons 1) not great in corners (as expected) 2) if I forgot to pick up a wire, this thing was gonna send me an alert while I was at work telling me " mop pad came off" The L40 was on sale this week so I upgraded.
Bang for buck - mova p10 ultra Money is no object/I want the best - roborock Sara's 10r or dreame x50 ultra Budget/cheapest option changes alot based on sales. Just the other week I bought a refurbished L10s ultra for $240 Honorable mention - the new eufy e28 can be had for $800. I think its worth considering because the roller mop system they have going seems to do really good for mopping in general.
I would probably reccomend the mova p10 pro ultra, gen 1 if you want better obstacle avoidance, gen 2 if you want better cleaning.
You should probably return it if you just baught it, roomba as a brand is so far behind the other brand like dreame and Roborock and movva, that’s litterly why roomba went bankrupt. For around thr same price if not cheaper you can get the movva p10 pro ultra which has way more features
I’m not tryna be mean, but you should definetly try a brand like Roborock or dreame at least once, they are wayyyy better, roomba is so behind in the robot vacuum industry, that’s the reason they went bankrupt and were bought buy some other Chinese robot vacuum brand. The MOVA p10 pro ultra is very well priced, and has so many good features that roomba just doesn’t have even on their more expensive vacuums.
Love my Mova P10 Pro Ultra (Gen 1), the obstacle avoidance is pretty damn good and hasn’t tripped up on anything. Got mine during Black Friday for $300.
I got a Mova P10 Pro Ultra for $300, keeps my house nice and tidy with LVP and marble.
Got it from Mova’s website using healthcare discount
Yeah it was a price mistake that they honored
My Mova P10 Pro Ultra does everything I need for $300.
I got a Mova P10 Ultra for $300, no complaints, I have LVP mainly with the bathrooms having tile and marble.
Slightly over budget but check out the Dreame l40 ultra or Mova p10 pro ultra. These are essentially the same (sister companies) and you will not come anywhere close to beating the performance for the price. You can get the [l40 ultra on eBay refurbished for $449](https://ebay.us/m/UROL86) right now, or the [mova p10 pro ultra](https://www.amazon.com/MOVA-P10-Pro-Ultra-360%C2%B0Obstacle/dp/B0DGR1VDTB/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_sspa?adgrpid=174216578632&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.NzCqKu3nlFFduePFwJznvA5wGHFgebsrMb8FS35FSbaAUmGXuS6Vg62wl60HDi0NsfL0sKU-daX-PmHZhmyCwF-V_KiTFkifQit2gbXYduq_B8rTniWPsOrLCWF6s1as32CqRkvY6O4Mt6RDFrb1dYWtDLseRLNlCsXjWt7Alc8ImSH_68Z_4NVqobo0YugC6y70fpv6CAUrDbqQL-fL_A.sEE2o97Dh-r320pNogxmJHwg9TEW_phCHW3zd6dHgs8&dib_tag=se&hvadid=729579260533&hvdev=m&hvexpln=68&hvlocphy=9061184&hvnetw=g&hvocijid=10306761465268670229--&hvqmt=e&hvrand=10306761465268670229&hvtargid=kwd-2382339236817&hydadcr=27756_14519795&keywords=mova+p10+pro+ultra&mcid=10a88f25aed8360a84279a2103f713f1&qid=1753128734&sr=8-1-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9waG9uZV9zZWFyY2hfYXRm&psc=1) is $499 new on Amazon. Only real difference between the 2 is the l40 ultra can drop its mop pads at the station. I can personally speak to how well they work with pet hair. I have a chow chow mix that sheds an INSANE amount. Ever since owning one of these and running it nightly, my floors are furless. Highly recommend! Also you don’t realize you need mopping til you actually get one that can. I went in not caring either but so glad I got one that does.
iRobot is leagues behind the competition so I would avoid.. Shark is fine but there are better options for the money. And dust bags are a positive. They are cleaner, healthier and easier to maintain. Costs less than <$20/year for bags (Amazon knockoffs are cheap) and if you really want, you can reuse any bags by just dumping out its contents. With all that said, Mova p10 pro ultra is the one to get for <$500. And you’re in luck bc it is currently on sale for $499. You will not beat the performance and features at that price.
[Mova p10 pro ultra for $499](https://www.amazon.com/MOVA-P10-Pro-Ultra-360%C2%B0Obstacle/dp/B0DGR1VDTB/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=1KKASS4OJWTV9&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.NzCqKu3nlFFduePFwJznvFtPtFp2eniEunae8eOJjR0RFEBysN1Ug3QiIJ0FIFZF-th8VOeIiKhkLafn1TDfuZX_O_Mt6N_J18MVYYFzix6qccjwPZiubb6vcpyIZkDz9blFe60ugROld0lGzQklc5wTLaBTncrI3yIwztkLevhazPwDkykcQNT2mKsYf8YnniNAzbvTLF5CErVrX3e-7Q.yyc7leSsLlmD3mRQqVCTAx6qgbpmXMys_vqEo0bJoIs&dib_tag=se&keywords=mova+p10+pro+ultra&qid=1753330414&sprefix=mova%2Caps%2C232&sr=8-3). It uses bags. Most robots require bags now. But if you are still against them then shark is one of the few that doesn’t use them.
Obstacle avoidance is pretty good. It will bump sometimes but more often than not it will recognize the object in front of it and stop before hitting it. It also will populate your map telling you what it thinks those objects are like this (the circular blue icons): https://preview.redd.it/dglsvml1x0ff1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e60d2d6a16424a88ba90bcac14f335880b383f34 Mapping is good and only takes a few minutes and continues to learn the more it runs.
Is there a particular robot you had in mind? I personally think the best mid range option is the Mova p10 pro ultra when it’s under $500. And right now it’s [$469 at Walmart.](https://www.walmart.com/ip/Mova-Robot-Vacuum-Mop-13-000Pa-Suction-140-F-Hot-Water-Auto-Mop-Washing-Drying-Dual-Spinning-Extenable-Mop-10-5mm-Lifting-Carpet-360-Obstacle-Avoidan/16322614507?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=102786031&gclsrc=aw.ds&&adid=2222222222816322614507_102786031_181623557182_22934406472&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=m&wl3=770864559835&wl4=pla-2417713174710&wl5=1014218&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=5584646462&wl11=online&wl12=16322614507_102786031&veh=sem&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=22934406472&gbraid=0AAAAADmfBIoi3_Yo7lf3nY9jpEMmLKgAq&gclid=Cj0KCQjw3aLHBhDTARIsAIRij58Le4QBgEgxpDCbf2ji31rAlnSzx2h8Tn-1MsukUvbyaIGwC1FgjGUaAsLzEALw_wcB) Lowest I’ve ever seen it is $449 so it’s still a solid deal. But otherwise you’ll likely find the best deals on many other options around Black Friday.
Dreame l40 ultra or Mova p10 pro ultra are solid and can often be found on sale for around $500. They are basically the same with the main difference being that the l40 can drop its mop pads at its base station. Don’t know what your budget is but at that value it is incredibly hard to beat. Keep an eye out on Amazon they should at the very least be back on sale on prime day.
Well said. I’ve tried a few of the pricier ones and just bought a Dreame l40 ultra as my “budget” option to compare. While I think the pricier ones are a bit better in performance (in some ways, not all) it just feels silly spending $800+ on a machine whose features will be dated in just a couple years. I mean just take the Dreame x40 ultra for example. Last year they sold new at $1900. Now you can get one for around $500. And You cannot beat the value of the l40 ultra or Mova p10 pro ultra. I think it’s the perfect robot for most peoples needs.
FWIW I always thought it was gimmicky until I bought a good one. Now I wondered why I didn’t buy it a long time ago. Especially with modern features like self emptying dust bins and water. Are you in the US? Idk if this is in your budget range but you should check out the mova p10 pro ultra or dreame l40 ultra. They are probably the best value out there for under $500.
Absolutely. I have a chow chow mix that sheds an insane amount. I kinda had just accepted the fact that there would always be tumbleweeds of dog fur everywhere and have lived with it for years. Always thought robot vacs were a gimmick until I tried one.they absolutely work. It picks up 99% of my dogs fur and I run it daily. I was kicking myself for not investing sooner. Check out the mova p10 pro ultra or the dreame l40 ultra. These are the most recommended in that price range. Very hard to beat that value for the features and performance it comes with at that price.
Mova p10 pro should be <$500 on October prime day. I have the dreame version of it (l40 ultra) and have been using it for the past 3 months. It’s a solid performer but I wouldn’t say carpet suction is the best for pet fur (I have a dog that sheds an insane amount) but hard floor vacuuming picks up pretty much everything. Mopping is good if you have non textured flooring, but same can be said for most spin mops. I do think it is the best you’ll get in the price range when on sale <$500 and is often at the top of best rated robot vacuum lists. Edit: [it’s $474 at Walmart rn.](https://www.walmart.com/ip/Mova-P10-Pro-Ultra-Robot-Vacuum-Mop-Floor-Cleaning-Solution-13-000Pa-Suction-140-F-Hot-Water-Auto-Washing-Drying-Dual-Spinning-Extenable-Mop-360-Obst/17443573732?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=102786031&gclsrc=aw.ds&&adid=2222222222817443573732_102786031_185227333878_22924454124&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=m&wl3=770825223027&wl4=pla-2458810826114&wl5=9061184&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=5584646462&wl11=online&wl12=17443573732_102786031&veh=sem&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=22924454124&gbraid=0AAAAADmfBIqOpzSopGcYzavSluimW2dak&gclid=Cj0KCQjw0Y3HBhCxARIsAN7931Uq2jQNpTfvPO1Wf2o2fqak7eJwJtPXi6dsRW2cOnJtxTBddrh4d0IaAnT6EALw_wcB)

In the us I believe Amazon has sales events coming soon. In the 500-600 range, there is the dreame l40 ultra and the MOVA p10 pro ultra which punches way above their weight compared to other robots in this price range. Both work with an antitangle TriCut brush (which is often given with the robot now but it doesn’t hurt to check) which worked well with my long haired corgi. Do note that the dustbin on these models are rather small and can clog up with fur quickly and even the highest autoempty frequency doesn’t seem to be enough for the super shedders. There’s the dreame l40s ultra at like 700-800 if obstacle avoidance isn’t an issue (like pet “accidents” and cables) but will do much better with fur as it has an onboard fur compression feature which allows it to eat more fur without getting as easily clogged. However at the same price range there’s the eufy s1 (if carpet vacuuming isn’t a concern) and the eufy e25 that are great contenders (just ask eufy support to send the new dirty water tank to prevent leaking, they’ve generally been pretty proactive with this) If Narwal has a sale for their Freo Z ultra I’d check those out too. It’s much cheaper in Western Europe at €549 but is at $799 in the states. Buy these from reputable retailers with a good return policy in case you get a lemon. Amazon has a good 30 day return policy. I believe dreame has physical stores in the US that ship robots for free (often at a discounted price with free accessories) in the mainland US and there’s someone at the store to call if something goes wrong. I’d check Costco out too. They should also have good units and I think the price premium is worth the peace of mind since you can easily return if there’s a dud.
Compared to the Dreame l40 ultra?
Main difference is that the L40S Ultra CE lacks an RGB camera which isn’t helpful for obstacle avoidance and no hot water mop washing. I see the MOVA P10 Pro Ultra at 599 though. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DGR1VDTB/
The MOVA P10 Pro Ultra will be the best for this as it is at 899 CAD and has the same performance as the Dreame L40 Ultra without mop removal. You can ask it to vacuum carpets first. The MOVA P50 Pro Ultra at 1149 CAD will be even better at carpet cleaning and keeping the mop pad cleaning tray cleaner and can remove mops. I referred to Amazon CA for prices~
They kept marketing themselves as Dreame’s MOVA until recently when it decided to create its own brand identity so I am surprised as to how such simple information wasn’t checked.
Please don’t believe his numbers. The L40, X40, and the MOVA P10 Pro Ultra have essentially the same mopping system but the test values are very different.
Dreame/MOVA models with an RGB camera and Narwal camera enabled models are best at obstacle avoidance. As for hair: dreame/MOVA models with the TriCut brush will do just fine with human hair and pet fur. For longer hair, I’d look at the dreame L/X40 and newer (MOVA P10 Pro Ultra and newer) as the new side brush design is more tangle resistant compared to the previous one. If your pet sheds a lot, I’d recommend the Dreame x50 ultra as it can compress fur in its dustbin as it vacuums. Narwal’s Freo Z Ultra is a good choice for hair and fur too. It has great obstacle avoidance and will have the best smart cleaning program. There is also the LDS-only Freo Z10 which will be able to mop closer to edges and untangle any tangled hair on its side brushes These models all are combo models that mop much better than a swiffer. Upcoming models that will mop better than the previous models: MOVA Z50 Ultra and the Narwal Flow.
Best cost efficient choice: dreame L40 Ultra and the MOVA P10 Pro Ultra are 599 USD on Amazon for their Easter sale. Both models are essentially the same save for the L40 having the ability to remove its mops.
Roborock isn’t as good as other brands when it comes to poop avoidance. Dreame, Eufy S1 pro, and Narwal are much better at this. MOVA is a subbrand of dreame. Narwhal Freo Z ultra Narwal flow should be better for carpets though but the lack of any hair tangle measures on the mop is an issue considering how the MOVA Z50 Ultra which mops great and works great with long hair with similar poop avoidance performance has combs to help with hair tangles on the mop. Eufy also doesn’t have very good carpet cleaning and as good edge cleaning compared to the previous two An all rounder should be the dreame X50 Ultra for fur compression if there are heavy shedders or the dreame x40 ultra/ MOVA P10 Pro Ultra if the main issue is mainly just long hair.
This is definitely not exclusive on the ecovacs X9 pro omni. Ecovacs is late to this feature. Models that can do this well: Dreame’s L/X40 Ultra and newer (assuming there’s an RGB camera), Narwal Freo Z Ultra; Roborock Saros series and CurvX, MOVA P10 Pro Ultra, P50 Pro Ultra, Z50 Ultra, V50 Ultra
Dreame's and MOVA's robots with an extending mop will excel at cleaning edges like these since the algorithm is very aggressive compared to other brands. Any model from the X30 Ultra and newer or the P10 Pro Ultra and newer can do this.
Depends on your purchasing region. I’d recommend one with autoemptying and for it to have an all in one base station if you want it to mop so it can clean twice a day for you. My robot runs twice a day and at 20,000sqm cleaned, it still works great. Vacuum only ones: Roborock Q5 Max+ or the Q8 Max+ (I don’t know much about the other new roborock models so I’ll wait for other users to report their experience to consider recommending them) Combo ones Xiaomi is a popular cost effective brand. I’d recommend the X10+, X20 Pro and the X20 Max. This is if you want it to vacuum and then mop (which I use since my corgi drools a lot). The TriCut brush compatibility also means it’ll deal with corgi fur well. Xiaomi is not available in the NA market. Dreame’s L40 Ultra and MOVA’s P10 Pro Ultra have been sold in the US for 499-599 (the price fluctuates) and are essentially the same robot. It is also compatible with the TriCut brush. Narwal Freo Z10 will be recommended as it is the cheaper autoemptying model.
MOVA P10 Pro Ultra and the Dreame L40 Ultra should be in this price range (use a price tracker) and greatly outperform other models in the same price range. I think one of them shipped with the anti-tangle tricut brush, which worked well with my long-haired corgi's fur. I'd so change the mop pads to the roborock saros one (cheap on aliexpress) as it's plusher and can remove muddy prints better. Not so much a fan of how the dustbin can clog in the middle with fur, but have empty space on the sides, and how the self-cleaning mop washboard loves to have fur in every nook and cranny. The MOVA P10 Pro Ultra does also seem to have a front wheel breaking issue in North America, which is weird since this issue isn't reported nearly as much with the near identical Dreame L40 Ultra.
The MOVA will be better at vacuuming and the Narwal will have the best smart cleaning mode and mopping but vacuuming isn’t as good as the MOVA and tanks need to be refilled more often.
Vacuum only: roborock q5 or q8 max+ or the switchbot k10+ with a tangle resistant all rubber brush. Vacuum and mop combo: MOVA P10 Pro ultra at 399 (I think on Amazon US). This is a de facto last gen flagship and the antitangle TriCut brush (may ship in a bundle or needs to be bought separately from MOVA/dreame but AliExpress resellers can be cheaper) worked great with my long fur corgi’s fur and tumbleweeds. This one is least likely to get stuck compared to the previous options. Compared to other vacuum and mop combos under 400 which are solid budget robots, the p10 pro ultra blows them out of the water. As for the curved legs, I think the MOVA may at first try to ride up them then eventually learn how to properly avoid them. I have the MOVA V50 ultra and after it humped tripod legs on the first day, it was able to “learn” how to smoothly follow the tripod legs and avoid riding up on them on the third day (second day produced mixed results).
Poop dodging? Sorry this feature won’t be on both models you’ve mentioned. It’s only in the 400-600 range that has actual ability to dodge poop. I’d check out the MOVA p10 pro ultra or the dreame l40 ultra which are currently the cheapest models with this capability and sometimes is sold with the antitangle TriCut brush which has worked well for my long haired corgi. I think there’s also the Narwal Freo Z ultra which was at a similar price range of 600 something.
I’d get the MOVA P10 pro ultra as MOVA/dreame’s obstacle avoidance is one of the best. It’s also a de facto flagship robot at the same price range as the other two which are mid range robots and will blow them out of the water. The roborock QX Revo only has structured light which isn’t very good for obstacle avoidance anyway. The ecovacs has pretty bad obstacle avoidance too but this is mainly due to a lack of an LED fill light and poor firmware. https://youtu.be/wbkEQ03wZEM When i run everyday to vacuum first then mop, the floors were noticeably cleaner and my wood floors had a sheen to them and felt softer over time. Much more barefoot friendly if you ask me.
Roborock and MOVA / dreame generally have better navigation and mapping than ecovacs. As for less maintenance, the MOVA P10 pro ultra has a self cleaning mop washboard which is the same as the L40 which generally moves most dirt and dust to the drainage area. Not a fan that the bottom isn’t completely removable like roborock so this is a flaw that can be a dealbreaker for you. https://youtu.be/QjUASR3DdIE
Try the MOVA P10 Pro Ultra for 499 USD or the near equivalent Dreame L40 Ultra at the same price. Much better at cleaning than the ecovacs model while being cheaper. Only the Narwal models have a handle to carry its base station. However, every model with an all in one base station (with the exception of the Narwal flow), need to have the base station on the same floor as the robot.
The dreame l40 ultra and the MOVA p10 pro ultra are popular combo robots at 500-600 usd (I haven’t found a combo that is in the same price range and delivers the same functions and performance as these two models). The main brush won’t get tangled if you use the TriCut brush which worked well in my home with long hair and a long haired corgi.
Cost effective choice that deals well with fur: dreame l40 ultra and the MOVA p10 pro ultra work with an antitangle TriCut brush which has worked well in my experience with a long haired corgi. Price should be from 400-600 when on sale. Eufy e25/28 will also be a good choice at about 600-800. Do ask eufy customer support for a new dirty water tank to avoid it from leaking it on the floor. The s1 was ruled out as the e25/28 do better on rugs and carpets and the s1 (both non-pro and pro) lacks a good antitangle brush but the all rubber main brush is generally tangle resistant.
I’d prioritize a robot with antitangle rollers, decent mopping (usually starting at the 500 USD range), and an easy to clean robot. Really good midrange option: dreame l40 ultra or the MOVA p10 pro ultra at about 500. They’ll deliver the best bang for buck performance. The x40 ultra should also be in this price range. It should come with an antitangle TriCut brush that works but generally makes it louder. The most expensive options have quieter antitangle rollers as they don’t cut the tangled hair but direct it to the dustbin with their tapered end. A bit more expensive but better mopping: the eufy e25 at 629 USD has antitangle brush rollers that work and a decent roller mop. do ask Eufy’s customer support for their updates dirty water component as the one the first gen ones ship with have a leaking issue. I don’t see any other robot in this price range that mops better. Most expensive with the best mopping that doesn’t really come at the cost of vacuuming pet fur at 999: the MOVA Z60 Ultra SA has antitangle rollers and a good roller mop that can extend to clean closer to edges with antitangle combs on the roller mop to prevent tangling. It’s very similar to the MOVA Z60 Ultra Roller which is more expensive with the only difference being threshold crossing wheels but the mopping is the same. MOVA sent me their Z60 ultra roller to review as part of their Reddit collaboration program and I found it to mop really well with no tangles anywhere other than fur wrapped around the fluffing roller which you need to clean once every 30 working hours (the app reminds you).
The dreame l40 ultra and the MOVA p10 pro ultra frequently are at 475 usd, I would definitely wait for sales. These robots are going to be the most cost effective compared to other robots. They should come with an antitangle Tricut brush or a tangle resistant rubber roller.
Is the dreame L40 Ultra and the MOVA P10 Pro Ultra no longer on sale?
They’re basically the same model but the dreame has mop removal and the MOVA doesn’t.
Both the roborock s8 pro ultra and the MOVA p10 pro ultra are good choices. The MOVA p10 pro ultra wins for obstacle avoidance and edge and corner cleaning. The s8 pro ultra would be better for hair on carpet mainly because it has dual rubber brushes.
I’d recommend the Dreame l40 ultra and the MOVA p10 pro ultra at 400-450. Although they are vacuuming and mopping combo robots, they’re pretty good vacuum robots with great obstacle avoidance, chair legs and wires won’t be a concern. If it’s only chair legs that’s a concern, I’d check out the roborock q10 s5+ or if hair and fur shedding is a concern the dreame d20 plus/pro plus and the MOVA e30 pro plus which should be in the 200-400 range.
You do not need to upgrade to the p50 pro ultra (I worry about the front wheel breaking). The p10 pro ultra is a much better cost effective choice.
The MOVA p10 pro ultra is good but its dustbin isn’t as great when it comes to handling a lot of pet fur. If your pets shed a lot, I’d recommend the Dreame or MOVA robots with fur compression as they do great with a lot of fur.
I’d definitely check out the dreame l40 ultra or the MOVA p10 pro ultra at 400-450 on Amazon. I’d get the l40 ultra if you have a home that’s like 50/50 carpet as it can remove the mops for just vacuuming and use the side brush on carpets to help pick up more fur.
I would get these models from Amazon, run it as frequently as possible (cleaning the whole floor once a day and cleaning some rooms too in the same day) before the return period ends so you can catch any build quality issues and return them if it arises. It does seem that the complaints about the broken front wheel have recently decreased in quantity so it’s likely that they fixed it in their newer batches. Quality control is the brand’s responsibility and I’m not going to apologize nor defend their mistakes which I think shouldn’t have happened in the first place but them improving is a step in the right direction. If you want obstacle avoidance, the MOVA p10 pro ultra and the Dreame l40 ultra (also at the same price) have superior obstacle avoidance of the qrevo edge/curv. Unlike the qrevo edge which has an RGB camera, a flashlight and structured light to help with obstacle avoidance, the Edge S5A has no RGB camera and only structured light so do not expect the edge S5A to avoid things like cables, shoelaces, kid toys, and even people without at least bumping into them. I’d choose the dreame l40 ultra over the p10 pro ultra as it can use the side brush on carpets and remove its mops when it is vacuuming. MOVA did send me their V50 ultra and their z60 ultra roller for a review as part of their Reddit collaboration program.
I’d recommend a robot good with fur like the dreame d20 pro plus and the MOVA e30 pro plus as their dual antitangle brushes do well with fur and their large dustbin paired with the fur compression feature which compacts the fur in the dustbin with airflow can hold a lot of fur. This is a vacuuming focused model so don’t expect great mopping as I’m pretty sure you value it being able to tackle all that fur more. You can see justadad’s review of it here: https://youtu.be/qkjU7Ge0FEA They will not avoid any pet messes so do check before you run them. If you want it to avoid things like cables, the Dreame l40 ultra and the MOVA p10 pro ultra are good vacuum and mop combo choices but I think the dustbin will be easily clogged with fur.
> Does warn water/air actually help with smelly mop? Some say it works well, and some say its a gimmick? Yes. Especially if you live in a place that is humid or cold. > Does robot vacuum make enough wheel noise, sound where it bothers downstairs? The p10 pro ultra won’t make noises that loud but you can hear it when it is running back to the base station or to a room at full speed. > . I heard robot vacuums take much longer than humans vacuum. Is there a mode where I can ask it to do a "quick/rough" clean so that it can finish basic vacuum within 30 minutes, or so? Yes. You can also get it to clean just a zone > For warranty (I live in Canada), do they pay for shipping or I have to pay it from my pocket? Most retailers do free shipping for these robots. Amazon is definitely one of them. > 5. I'd probably just click app to do cleaning occasionally when I am out. I heard dreme (or mova) has worse app experience than roborock. Are they actually buggy, or just bad translations? Mainly a more clunky UI with not so great translations. > 6. I heard mop drying can take long time and noisy. Is it true? Should take anywhere from 3-5 hours that you can set in the app. The mop drying function has always been silent in my experience.
1. Anything that moves can break. So I suggest buying from a retailer with a good return policy + a good protection plan. 2. For base station cleaning: Dreame (some models), eufy, Narwal, roborock, and Xiaomi have completely removable mop washboards. I’m not a fan of the wiper driven mop washboards on the Dreame X/L30 and X/L40 ultra and the MOVA P10 Ultra/Pro Ultra simply because there’s too many nook and crannies to clean. However their new aceclean dryboard on the L/V/X50 Ultra and newer is much easier to clean even when only the filter is removable since there’s no nooks and crannies for dirt to hide in and dirt only really collects under the removable filter which is easily removed with a wet wipe or a Clorox wipe. I’d avoid bagless base stations. Spinning mop combo robots are less maintenance than roller mop robots.
You are only going to get decent mopping in the 500-600 cad price range and this is mainly going to concern the MOVA p10 ultra as a robot with an internal water tank (e30 shouldn’t have one) will be more water efficient for larger homes like yours.
As far as I’m aware there aren’t really any build quality issues with this robot. I’d get it from Amazon or a reputable retailer with a good return policy and run it several times a day so any faults from poor build quality will show up and you can return it before the return period ends :)
1. Anything that moves can break. So I suggest buying from a retailer with a good return policy + a good protection plan. 2. For base station cleaning: Dreame (some models), eufy, Narwal, roborock, and Xiaomi have completely removable mop washboards. 1. It really depends on your purchasing region. Costco is a popular choice given its generous return policy but choices are rather limited compared to buying from Amazon which has an easy return policy within 30 days. For other purchasing regions, buying from a reputable retailer with a good return policy and an optional protection plan would be good. In Australia, I heard Harvey Norman is nicer with returns compared to JB HIFI. 2. The robots with the best self cleaning will be Dreame’s L/X50 Ultra/L40S Ultra/Pro Ultra and MOVA’s V50 Ultra P50S Ultra > MOVA’s P50 Ultra/ Pro Ultra > Roborock’s models that have spinning mops with the Multifunctional Dock 3.0 (roborock models with a vibrating mop have a washboard that is more difficult to clean as you can’t remove it) ≈ Narwal Freo models (completely detachable base) > Dreame’s models with the mop-driven wiper mop washboard (cleaning the wiper washboard is rather difficult since there’s too many nooks and crannies and you’d still have to get down to clean the areas the wipers can’t reach) > other combo robots with an all in one base station As for combo robots with roller mops and have an all in one base station, the washboard is generally flat with a few grooves so it’s pretty easy to clean. I believe most of their washboards are removable. However, it’ll require more cleaning in the mop compartment and dirty water tank. Most roller mop models have an annoying cylindrical component which drives the roller mop like an upright wet dry vacuum but you can’t remove or move it to give it a deeper clean even if gunk is stuck on it. The only combos that are close to the level of self cleaning for spinning mop models are Dreame’s Aqua 10 Pro track, the MOVA Z50 Ultra, and the Narwal Flow since both have self-cleaning mechanisms that are made to also clean the dirty water tank and the mop compartment while also having a very easy to clean mop compartment since the thing that moves the mops is also completely removable. If you want to support a US startup, you could look at the Matic since it’s a vacuum and mop robot but taking care of it looks rather easy since it lacks a base station. The maintenance involved is replacing the bag, refilling the water with a cleaning solution of choice, occasionally cleaning the roller mop, the roller mop filter, cleaning the brush roller and de clogging the mop tubes if needed.
They are identical other than the Mova loses the ability to leave the mop pads at the dock. The spare parts and consumables are interchangeable between the two.
What's your price range? There are the fancy flagships with all their features like threshold climbing, roller mops, multiple mop pads, retracting lidar and made up pressure numbers. I've got a Mova v50 and z60, happy with both of them but had two certified refurbished Dreame X40 ultras before. The x40s were basically flawless even though they were certified refurbs and ran daily on a schedule for over a year and a half before the front wheel broke and sent both in for warranty repairs through the extended warranty that you get with certified refurbs. Both were deemed unrepairable and I got a check for $1000 per robot. I bought my x40s for $800 through eBay. Even with the issues I had, I still recommend the x40, the L40 and the Mova P10 pro ultra 1st gen (identical to the l40, mova is a sister company of Dreame). These bots have flagship level cleaning performance and obstacle avoidance but are just missing the over the top bells and whistles that frankly cause more issues such as battery drain. Right now the certified refurb x40 is on sale through eBay for $319 which is an insanely good price considering it's a 1 year old flagship that performs better than any robot you can get even up.to the $500 price range. https://www.ebay.com/itm/357118449793
Yeah this doesn't really exist. Your best bet is to get a Mova P10 pro ultra or a Dreame x40. Mova is a sister company of Dreame and Dreame currently has the best object avoidance on carpet and hard floors. The Mova P10 pro ultra is equivalent to the Dreame L40 which has top notch object avoidance. You should be able to get a Mova P10 pro ultra for $600-800 on sale and an X40 for 800-1000 on sale.
The L40 and Mova p10 pro ultra are effectively identical. Same part numbers on the docks. Only difference being that the L40 can leave it's mop pads at the dock. The Dreame x50 is the best out of the ones you listed but it's probably out of your budget. The Roborock s8 pro ultra does not have a camera based obstacle avoidance system and is frankly old tech at this point, would not recommend it. The X40 ultra is possibly the best value out of the bunch it you can get it for $500-$700. Basically identical to the l40 and Mova P10 pro ultra but has longer battery life and slight difference obstacle avoidance sensors but still the l40 and X40 perform better than anything else for the money with regards to object avoidance. Since you have only hardfloors, I still think a roller mop style robot is probably best for you since spinning mop system tend to smear debris around while rollers like the Eufy s1 and E25/e28 always keep the mop clean. If you can get a Eufy e25 within your budget, I would get that, if not I would look at the Dreame l40 or Mova P10 pro ultra, which ever is cheaper.
How much is the Mova p10 pro ultra in your area? Mova is Dreame's sister brand and the p10 pro ultra is identical to the Dreame L40 other than not being able to leave the mop pads at the dock. The L40 is as good as the X40 minus one obstacle avoidance sensor and slightly smaller battery but it performs equally as well but at a lower cost.
Get a Dreame or Mova for best obstacle avoidance. I've owned a Eufy x10, Dreame x40 and Roborock QRevo slim. Out of all of them I rate the Dreame x40 far ahead of the other two with the QRevo slim coming in 2nd and Eufy x10 last I currently have two x40s and their obstacle avoidance is nearly flawless. The robots rarely get stuck or eat cables which lets me run them both daily without having to prep my house or intervene. Roborock in general, really struggles with obstacle avoidance, especially on carpet. The QRevo slim I had for a few weeks before returning it would constantly eat cords and cat toys. Do not go with roborock if you value obstacle avoidance. For your case, I would recommend the Dreame L40 or Mova P10 pro ultra. Mova is Dreame's sister company and the p10 pro ultra is identical to the Dreame L40 other than not being able to leave the mop pads at the base station. And both are very similar to the X40 other than having a slightly smaller battery and slightly different obstacle avoidance sensors while still being as good as obstacle avoidance. The advantage of the L40 and p10 pro ultra is that you are getting X40 level performance but usually around the $500-700 price point.
Dreame L40 or Mova P10 pro ultra. The L40 should available on sale for around $400-500. The Mova P10 pro ultra is also around the same price and is identical to the L40 as it is made by Dreame's sister company. Get the L40 over the P10 pro ultra if they are the same price as the L40 gets software updates sooner. The L40 is one of the top performing robots for the money and has excellent hair tangle resistance since you can run the tricut brush. I have 2x Dreame x40s and they have the same brush system as the l40 and I have one running the tricut and one without it. Both have been excellent with resisting hair wrap with the tricut having zero hair tangled on it and the regular brush having a small amount on the ends. The best feature of the L40/X40/p10 pro ultra is that they have class leading object avoidance so you don't have to pick up your cat's toys or prep your house every time you want to run the robot meaning you can run it on a daily schedule which will keep your house cleaner. I run my X40s daily and they never get stuck on cables, cat toys and other random junk that ends up on the floor. If money is not a constraint and you have lots of carpet, try out the Saros 10r and Dreame X50. Both have some of the best carpet performance while also having good hair wrap resistance. The Saros 10r has slightly better cleaning performance than the x50 but the downside is that its obstacle avoidance is significantly worse than Dreame.
I've had an 2x x40s for the past 6 months and accumulated over 300 cleaning hours between the two. The L40 is probably the best value for money at $500. The Mova P10 pro ultra would be my default recommendation at that price point since it is made by Dreame's sister company but it lacks the ability to leave the mop pads at the dock even though the hardware is identical. The L40 is a great performer, basically as good as the X40 and one of the best features is probably the obstacle avoidance. In the 300 hours that I've run the robots, they have practically never gotten stuck on cords, cat toys or other common household obstacles, maybe 1-2% of the time. This means I can run the robot every night reliably and wake up to the robot sitting in its dock and have a clean floor to start the day. Vacuum performance is top notch and mopping is great, not had any hardware issues with mine since buying it. All the software issues are now worked out. Over all the app is good on Android, it's a little less responsive than Roborock's but still completely usable and has lots of features that are useful. I rarely have to use the app though since I have the robots running on a daily schedule which is setup through the app. Support sucks, all of the Chinese manufacturers suck with Eufy sucking the least when it comes to support and Roborock is probably after then with Dreame coming in third. Whatever you do, DO NOT BUY FROM DREAME'S WEBSITE. If you have any issues with the product, they will not let you return it and they have no third party to hold them accountable. Buy it from Costco or Amazon or whatever reputable third party vendor, that way you have a return policy and a third party mediating the transaction.
L40 ultra and P10 pro ultra are identical robots. The QX Revo is significantly worse than both the L40 and P10, especially when it comes to obstacle avoidance and navigation. Keep the L40 Ultra and maybe buy an extended warranty from square trade for it. I usually buy from Dreame/Movas eBay store since buying an extended warranty through there is only like $35-70 extra
No one really makes mopless robots but you can get a robot with a basic mopping function and not use the mop. The Roborock q10 s5+ is a great option with its strong carpet performance and auto empty dock The Mova s10 is a good option too but doesn't have an auto empty dock but comes in at a much lower price. As another commenter said, the Dyson Visnav is a good option as well and has the best carpet performance of robot vacuums still but lags behind significantly in navigation and obstacle avoidance. They are coming on sale now that Dyson has moved on to their newer product. If you are willing to spend a little more, just get a Mova p10 pro ultra or the Dreame L40 ultra (first Gen). They are identical robots (same dock part numbers and Dreame/Mova are sister companies). Both go on sale for around $350-400 and perform like the flagship robots from 2024. They are missing the more advanced features like auto retracting lidar and threshold climbing but they vacuum very well and have good obstacle avoidance.
Mova V50 for homes that are primarily carpet. Mova z60 for mostly hard floors. Dreame also makes great robots such as the L40. The l40 ultra goes on sale for around $300-400 frequently, it was one of the flagship robots back in 2024 and it still cleans as well as the flagships today. The Mova p10 pro ultra is also a great option and comes in around $300-400 as well and is identical to the L40. The l20 and l10 from Dreame are really old at this point and aren't great options.
Mova has/had a cheaper deal on their Canadian website than on Amazon. I picked up the p10 for $599 taxes in with delivery.
[Mova P10 Pro](https://a.co/d/c3h8yYD). It's $399, but does EVERYTHING. Save a hair more and go with it. It has nearly every feature you could want while also being ungodly cheap. It has dirt detection in the dock, hot water mop pad washing (HUGE imo), lifts mop pads for carpet, corner cleaning (both an extending mop pad and a corner brush), decent obstacle avoidance, and many other features. I really believe there isn't a better bang for buck vacuum on the market bright now. The other thing I could suggest is to just wait. The technology in the space is advancing very rapidly and next year is poised to have a lot of new tech that will bring down the cost of the current stuff quite a lot. The biggest advice I can give is you really do get what you pay for in this space. If you’re able to save, you will get something substantially better for not that much more. Also stick with reputable brands like Roborock, Dreame, Mova, Ecovacs. If you have any questions, feel free to ask- robot vacuums have become my current obsession as it is the most fun part of my smart home
very, very low. As when buying any piece of technology, there’s always a chance you could get a lemon; however, a lot of good, glowing reviews on Amazon and I haven’t heard a lot of people complaining about having to return theirs. If you poke around on the robot vacuum so about it, you can definitely find people complaining of a lemon- just know that they’re few and far between I would argue you shouldn’t have to worry about too much, however, if you would like the peace of mind, you can always do what you suggested
Short list from many reviews and my super short experience with one: they use a ton of water for no reason which really hinders mopping performance, AI avoidance is worse than 3 year old roborocks, robot will make absolutely dogwater decisions compared to other brands, and the overall hardware is generations behind their competition There is absolutely no reason to get one when the Mova P10 pro exists at $400 (less than Shark's $600 "flagship" while the P10 has a better app, navigation effrcency, mopping, AI obstacle avoidance that actually works, extendable corner arm, hot water mop cleaning, better tangle resistance [though both are meh]). If you spend $600 you can upgrade to a P50 pro ultra which adds better suction, auto adding detergent, anti tangle brush, and even better obstacle avoidance. i’m not saying you should regret your decision if you bought one, you just asked for reasons and I wanted to give them because there are valid reasons if you’re buying you to avoid one. If you already have one, they’re completely fine and are actually great at carpet care, it’s just if you’re in the market right now there is no reason to purchase one as the competition has better preformers for less.
I’d look into MOVA if available in your country. Some good deals if you check around. I like the P10 Pro Ultra. https://mova-tech.com/
I tried the MOVA P10 Pro Ultra which is similar to the Dreame L40. It was pretty mediocre on carpets as well unfortunately.
Beat the hell out of the MOVA P10 Pro for me on carpets. I returned the MOVA. Previously had a Roomba J7+.
The MOVA P10 Pro Ultra. It’s similar to the Dreame L40 Ultra. It’s extremely quiet compared to my old iRobot Roomba J7+. Sharks are in between the two.
MOVA P10 Pro Ultra is what I just got and I like it a lot and it has very good obstacle avoidance thanks to the camera on the front. The best obstacle avoidance robots use cameras on the front. I’ve yet to see a non-camera based obstacle avoidance system of which there are many be very good at avoiding cords.
Came from a Roomba j7+ and having mopping on this MOVA P10 Pro Ultra has been quite nice.
It is exceptional at hard floors its mopping and vacuuming capabilities are superb. However I tried both the rubber brush and tri-cut brush and its pickup on my low-pile rug and generic apartment bedroom carpet was very abysmal. I have no hair and my 11lb chihuahua has short hair and it can’t even pickup the hair on the carpet after I vacuumed hours before with my regular vacuum. The filter also clogs with fine dust way too easy and needs to be tapped out in the sink or outside honestly almost after every run. I have an air purifier and good AC filters. My understanding is China doesn’t have carpet really. Also that when they switched to spinning mops they raised the units. But the L40 and X40 which this is based on allegedly have a re-designed air duct to fix this. But it seems we need the X50 design and maybe minor improvements on it to get good carpet performance. Also paschal is a unit of pressure not of air flow. I have switched to a Shark and it does a better job than the Mova P10 Pro Ultra. I previously had a Roomba J7+ its vacuum performance was amazing and obstacle detection. But its noise level, navigation, and battery life was a nightmare.
My J7+ was acting horrible as well. I got a Shark Robot. After trying a Mova P10 Pro Ultra which was great on hard floors but absolutely unbelievable awful on short pile and medium pile rugs and carpets.
I tried the tri-cut and the rubber brush carpet performance was very very bad. “Flattened pet hair” idk what that means but it couldn’t get dog hair that fell off my Chihuahua a few hours earlier and hadn’t been walked on. It probabaly can get female human hair and dog hair that’s similar to that. But its carpet performance was quite horrible. Hard floor cleaning and mopping was perfect though. But I returned it.
The Shark models with LiDAR and older Roombas are very good on carpet. lol. Which means good at deep cleaning to me. I tried the Mova P10 Pro Ultra which is basically a Dreame L40. The dreame X50 is good on carpets none of the other Dreame/MOVA are. The MOVA v50 coming out will be good on carpets it’s similar to an X50. I recently got a shark 2in1 with the side vent that puffs air at the wall. There’s is a newer slightly updated model that can drop the pads. I previously had a J7+ Roomba. Who knows if the new ones not made by them but branded iRobot Roomba still are any good. I don’t recommend the roombas though really. And who knows about the newer models.
I was going on 2.5 years with my J7+. It started having hardware and software issues. The battery life was terrible it couldn’t vacuum my newest 1 bedroom apartment without needing to recharge for 2.5 hrs with the most recent update. They would only replace my battery with a smaller one. I had to still use the smaller replacement battery into the new one. But they sent me a new robot and base under my warranty because the pictures they asked for showed my charging contacts on both were oxidized and worn (I did the maintenance on them like told to) other robots don’t have that white oxidation on the charging contacts. Some even place nickel plates you can buy on amazon and eBay over the iRobot Roomba charging contacts. I ended up just cancelling the iRobot select service. It was making phantom rooms I was done playing the delete and re-map until the map gets perfect, which did work for me in the past but I was over it. It was so LOUD too ugh compared to other bots on the market. I got a MOVA P10 Pro Ultra. It’s not quite as good at carpets. But it’s much better at hard floors with the mopping. And it doesn’t bump and slam into the baseboards constantly and everything else. App is way more advanced.
Shark but the one that has the extra mop attatchment and baseboard side port blower for $399 at Costco. I have it without auto empty $199 bestbuy on sale RV2620. Or the PowerDetect newer model. I tried a Mova P10 Pro Ultra similar to Dreame L40 AMAZING hard floor performance. But carpet performance was lagging terribly compared to my old Roomba J7+ so I returned and tried/got the shark.
My Roomba J7+ wasn’t horrible but ehhh. So glad it’s gone this MOVA P10 Pro Ultra similar to the Dreame L40 has been much smarter than my Roomba.
That’s not a cliff issue I don’t think. The cliff sensors are on the bottom of the robot on the edges or circumference sort of. I got the MOVA P10 Pro Ultra. But I don’t have this specific issue but it has a camera for obstacle detection. Idk if the QRevo Edge does.
I like it a lot. It’s similar to a Dreame L40. It’s not as good on carpets as my Roomba was I don’t think many are as good on carpets as Roombas based on all my research of Roborock and Dreame. But the mopping and hard floor performance makes up for it. I think it’s the best all around robot for price and features. Plan to keep it for a year or two then upgrade to the most well rounded one again, instead of buying the most expensive as I think every single robot no matter the brand sort of break after 1-3 years.
Everything about it Is impressive besides its carpet performance. It’s hard floor mopping and vacuum are impressive.
The Sharks with LiDAR bump on top work really well. They had an earlier model with an upward facing Camera it’s flat on top it wasn’t very good. But all after that model are pretty good on carpet. A lot have a mop attatchment. Look at bestbuy Costco and stuff to compare. There’s a $399 Costco one right now. Previously had a Roomba J7+ great on everything but navigation got really bad after 2.5 years of updates. Tried the Mova P10 Pro Ultra similar to Dreame L40 amazing on hard floors with mopping as well. Rug or carpet could not pick up anything.
If you don’t have carpet and value the camera functionality I think the P10 Pro Ultra Gen 1 is still a solid value at $400-450, less for refurb. I opted for this over the gen 2 because I can use the live camera to check on my pets.
I would agree this one is actually a pretty good value. I didn’t keep it personally because I have a lot of areas that benefit from the extending side brush and mop of the Mova P10 - but if you can do without those the mapping, vacuuming, and mopping performance were all pretty good.
I love the Mova so far, it just fits my needs really well. The extending side brush and the option to fit it with a cutter brush for long hair is a game changer for my multi-pet household. The mopping performance is fine, but nothing to write home about.
I have the P10 Pro Ultra Gen 1 - the Gen 2 has superior mopping performance (applies more pressure to the floor) and almost double the suction performance in vacuuming. However it does lack a camera, which has led to mixed reviews for obstacle avoidance. It’s about $150 less than the gen 2.
