"I run it once a day, and mop a couple times a week. ... In fact, my wet/dry floor vacuum just died so its pulling even more work right now as it's the only real mop I now have, other than a Swiffer."
"My GOD am I glad I did. I had no idea how much I had been missing! ... We have 2 dogs and a cat, and live more rural. That means dirty paws folks, and a lot of them. The mopping and vacuuming has been no short of amazeballs. Not amazing. Amazeballs."
"The current champ of perfectly sparkling clean floors. ... Have 5 dogs tracking in dirt all day? Run this mop and go eat off the floor. That's how clean it is. ... Step aside spinny & vibration mops, this constantly clean roller mop is the champ. ... The mopping ability is light-years ahead of the Curv. ... The continously cleaning of fresh water is where is truly unique. ... You will be delighted and shocked on how amazing this E28 is. Its truly incomparable to any roborock. Get ready to start eating off your floors 😁😉"

"The roborock I have kicked and smashed with my foot so many times out of anger when it doesn't collaborate, and still he rocks 4-5 yrs later and no broken parts"
"they are extremely durable. ... I’ve got well over 1000 miles out of a pair and they still have grip and the uppers are in great shape"
"I've used them for 1500 miles of multi-day hiking with no issues!"

"A good robovac is a life changer. Even a $350 basic S8. It is a great place to start. ... I promise you that you will not be disappointed by a basic S8. It will change your life even if it can't fit under every piece of furniture you own. ... My two S8s just finished vacuuming our entire house in about 46 minutes. ... While my floors were being cleaned, I sat comfortably on our patio in the cool shade with a slight breeze and composed my far too long response to you while sipping a diet soda and relaxing. ... I will have to spend about four minutes maintaining my two S8s. This will be my entire contribution to my home floor cleaning effort for today. Four minutes!"
"After walking them in rainy or muddy weather, having a robo mop take care of the mess is a real help. ... Without the robot we would need to spend a ton more time mopping. ... the convenienve of not needing to mop the house after you worked for a full day is worth it to us. ... So, 30 minutes for 7 days a week comes down to 3.5 hours of mopping saved. ... if it is rainy/muddy outside, they carry a lot of dirt into the house. ... the mopping robot makes a lot of sense and is a real help."
"I have ours set up through Home Assistant with our Litter Robot. 30 minutes after the Litter Robot signals that it has been used, our robovac automatically vacuums our laundry room where the Litter Robot is kept. It works great!"

"they do great with tangle-free tech ... My Freo Z never has this problem."
"I've never once had the roller clog with hair. ... It's got a tapered roller and apparently this is successful in keeping hair from getting tangled."
"Never gets tangled bc of the brush design."

"Also I didn’t like how much data the Narwal sent to servers. ... In the 2 weeks I had it, my firewall logs showed the Narwal sent over 20 GB of data. ... I had the remote video disabled so assume it was for vision AI analysis. ... Still, it shouldn’t need to send that much data."

"the narwal models are great for mopping, but are very water inefficient compared to other models with an onboard water tank."
I got a Narwal Freo V10 because I read they had no problems with pet hair. It’s fantastic. It doesnt get clogged or wrapped on a bar. Just does exactly what I need.
They are cheaper. It used to be 2k, but the older versions are like under 400, for the versions that were 2k before. Look especially around black Friday. I have the narwal freo x ultra, used to have the original narwal freo The dreame L10S ultra was coming out at the same time as that, and now that's under 300. Idk how reliable it is a I never got it and decided not to after some research and clogging. I went and stayed with the narwal freo and got the automatic water exchange system so I don't have to empty or fill the water again. The original lasted years, and the new one is running even better than that one. You'll have to look at features and pricing. Don't get the best and newest version if price is an issue. The older versions used to be top of the line and those work really well still. Do research and look at the prices and see if they're what you're willing to spend.
Original Narwal Freo about 3 years and still going strong! We don't use it daily, but several times per month. The new Narwal roller mop that is supposed to release seems very interesting, so maybe in a year or so we'll pick that up. Considering we got the original Narwal on an Amazon flash deal this has more than paid for itself!
My dogs freaked out at first with my Narwal, but we gave them high value treats every time we started a cycle and pretty soon they ignored it. The Narwal sensors have "pet detection" so it will stop when it sees my dog in its path. Since you have cats you could take them into a room with the robot and have Churu on hand. Just let them come up and sniff it, Churu, more sniffing, Churu etc.
I have all hardwood and use two devices. The Roborock is an excellent vacuum and I like their ap the best. I have an older S7 but it still powers through my 3 dog house. And a narwhal which does a 80% good job at mopping. Together my house stays pretty clean ;)
I have the Freo. It has a vacuum but it's not that strong. I have very annoying high gloss wood floors that show every foot print. The Narwhal mop really seems to clean the floor instead of just running a went mop bad over it like the IRobot.
We just got the Narwhal Freo that vacuums and mops and can do either independently or at the same time. I only have 2 cats inside and we do not have carpet but we do live on a ranch and I am in and out frequently from the horses and dirt in general so our floors get dirty fast. I am in love with this little robot. I call her Mrs.Doubtfire. When I send her to vacuum I leave the rugs down and have not had a problem. If she's doing a mop run I pick up the rugs. The time saved alone from not sweeping daily is huge for me, totally worth it.
I highly recommend combo robots if your parents walk around the house barefoot, it greatly improves the feel! The combo robots I found best for keeping itself clean are the dreame and MOVA robots with the filter self cleaning function and the flat washboard. I was able to get away with making my MOVA V50 run everyday for 3 months without a noticeable change in cleanliness. After that it’ll be and the roborock Curv 2 Pro and the Narwal spinning mop robots which generally consume more water than the other options. The app is going to be a challenge for them but you can set it up for them and put it on a schedule so they won’t have to open the app at all.
How tall is the piece of transition? For a single one up to 30mm, the roborock models with the AdaptiLift chassis (the most expensive QRevo Curv/Edge and the Saros line). Anything higher up to 4.2cm, if a threshold is less than 9cm long (5.2cm if it is at least 9cm long), will need the Dreame X50 Ultra or any equivalent MOVA model (V50 Ultra). I am aware that Dreame's L/X50 Ultra and any model (such as MOVA's V50 Ultra or the rare UK-only Dreame L40s Pro Ultra) that uses dual conical brushes has a *live fur compression* feature (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JOOU0uJsVdU), which helps mitigate the issue of pet fur clogging the dustbin, even though the space isn't fully utilized. I saw it in action, and I think it lives up to its claim. It also cleans its filter when auto-emptying. This should be helpful for homes with heavy shedders such as yours\~ For paw prints, I think a robot that can identify messes like this and act accordingly would be important too. Dreame and Narwal do well with this if you turn on certain functions, such as their smart cleaning mode and intelligent mess detection.
The MOVA will be better at vacuuming and the Narwal will have the best smart cleaning mode and mopping but vacuuming isn’t as good as the MOVA and tanks need to be refilled more often.
Yep the narwal models are great for mopping, but are very water inefficient compared to other models with an onboard water tank. There's also the MOVA V50 Ultra with mop pads that can tilt which is good for uneven tile floors.
It is mainly a result of confirmation bias, and most online posts are subject to the self-selecting bias. Many well-made robot vacuums can go much longer, and so even well-made combo vacuum and mop robots are still lasting well. Brands I'd go for: Dreame can have well built robots (I'd avoid the aqua 10 roller for now as there seems to be a design flaw) customer service depends heavily on region and there's mixed feedback regarding this; Eufy has generally solid customer service all around; MOVA seems to have pretty solid build quality, other than the p50 for the NA market (broken front wheel) and the z50 (docking issue due to a design flaw>), solid customer service seems to be better than dreame's even though they're serviced by the same group as dreame owns MOVA; Narwal which hasbuild quality seems to be pretty good with some reporting it still worked flawlessly even though it fell off a flight of stairs because their cliff sensors are a bit weird, customer service reviews are mixed; Roborock which has build quality seems to be solid overall but obstacle avoidance is their only flaw, mixed reviews of customer service from very negative to very positive); and Xiaomi which has generally solid build quality and customer service for its price (I bought from them before and when something got stuck in the wheel where I couldn't reach it, they fixed it and shipped it back in a week).
You are spoiled for options. Dreame, ecovacs, mova, and Narwal have roller mop robots. I’d narrow it down to mova and Narwal imo. Dreame’s Aqua 10 roller robots are clearly based off the MOVA Z60 ultra roller complete (MOVA is a subbrand of dreame but they have completely different R&D teams) but with less downwards force when mopping (dreame does 9-12N and MOVA currently exerts the highest downwards force at 17N). I have seen some people report that their Z60 Ultra Roller’s autoempty port gets clogged with fur but I haven’t had this happen at all after it has cleaned 43,000sqft and I have a long haired corgi that sheds all the time. Narwal is also a good choice with a track type mop exerting 12N but it lacks a detergent tank in the base station so you’d need to manually add the detergent when you refill the clean water tank (up to you to decide how important that is). MOVA did send me their v50 ultra complete and the Z60 ultra complete to review as part of their Reddit collaboration program. Both did great removing overnight dried on kitchen grease in one go. The z60 ultra roller was able to get rid of splattered dog friendly ice cream left by my dog with most of it gone in 1 pass and totally squeaky clean in the second pass. My review of the Z60 ultra roller complete is being finalized~~~
I have the Narwal Freo vacuum/mop and I love it.
Sure about that? I have a Narwal. It vacuums and mops. You can choose the floor type both for mopping and vacuuming and pick if you want a damp or wet mop. It’s WELL worth the money in my opinion
We are very happy with our Narwal Freo. It mops and vacuums. Got it during Prime Days
I had a Narwal Freo and was already happy with it. I've been testing the Eufy E25 for weeks now and I have to say, the suction power is really good. If you look at the dust container before vacuuming it into the station, you can see that it even pulls dust mites/feces out of the carpets. Special vacuum cleaners only do that. I've never had this happen with any robot. I'm really impressed. Wiping is also very neat. Unfortunately the navigation doesn't really make me happy, then it would really be perfect.
You're absolutely right. The Freo S is smaller than the others, and Narwal may not have cared enough about that model to redesign the conical brush roller to fit it. I'm not really sure.
How is the dust collection setting configured? Please try setting the frequency to “Always.” When set to “Always,” the Narwal robot will empty the dustbin at the start of every subsequent cleaning session. (Note that this occurs before cleaning, not after.) Due to patent issues, it appears that products other than iRobot do not have the capability to detect when the dustbin is full.
