"they do great with tangle-free tech ... My Freo Z never has this problem."
"I've never once had the roller clog with hair. ... It's got a tapered roller and apparently this is successful in keeping hair from getting tangled."
"it didn't clog with my long hair"

"My house has never been cleaner ... as I could not keep up with my Australian shepperd/berner mix's hair"
"2 young kids and a dog and haven't used my simtick vacuum on the main floor since January. I have a Narwal, not a Roomba, but it 100% has replaced the stick vacuum."
"the Narwal will have the best smart cleaning mode and mopping ... Z50 is going to be a much better mopping robot than the ecovacs and eufy robots with a roller mop"

"Of my robots, the Narwal maintains the cleanest base station and mop pads. ... That's their trademark (because using lots of water to wash works!) and I suspect the Flow will continue that trend."

"the narwal can sense if the area isnt clean yet and go back and clean it ... if it goes back to finish and leaves a cleaner surface than a single pass during a typical mop session from a different vac, the end result is the narwal will leave the area cleaner."

"The time saved alone from not sweeping daily is huge for me, totally worth it."
"With the plumbing kit it just sits in the laundry, drives itself out, cleans the house, then returns to the base station to clean its own mop pads, empty the vacuum bin and recharge. Then it does it all again the next day."
"I do about ten minutes of maintenance a month, that the app tells me to do, like emptying the bin or replacing the pads."

"It also occasionally tangles itself in stuff like string on the ground"
"Its a mostly fine robot but not a fan of their mapping software. ... The basic and simple and frustrating issues with the Narwal software have been there now for well over a year. ... Issues like mapping open concept spaces and having easy to use and manipulate split and merge lines have been solved years ago by other companies like Roborock and by Dreame. ... There is no excuse that Narwal - who has most definately been made aware of these issues long ago - has either chosen to ignore fixing 'merge/split' options (and more) or the current team is incapable of doing so. ... As a homeowner with a large open concept layout their mapping software is crap and pretty much renders using their robot useless unless I want to compromise how I use a Narwal. ... Something that is not an issue with Roborock or Dreame or Mova (and probably others also). ... So if a home has basically traditiona wall spaces.Sure. Narwal is great. If the layout is open concept. Then....Narwal no."

"My Narwal broke within a month and the warranty process was god awful."
"Also there is no availability of the physical service centers as mentioned in Amazon. Basically the India map with service centers provided in the home page of Narwal in Amazon is misleading."
"I contacted Narwal customer support (used the number given in Amazon) the customer service executive had no knowledge about the product."

"I suspect, like the Freo Z, the Flow will use a ton of water to keep the track-style mop clean and require refilling after every 1 or 2 uses."
I went ahead with Narwal Freo X Plus and I am happy with it. Initially had seen lots of review between Ecovacs N20 Pro and Freo X Plus. Got the Freo one at 24.5k
I don't know who does but I got the narwal one and it's good. Been over a month. And it's a really helpful gadget for sure.
Narwal freo x plus.
It's all good. No issues yet
I don't think Narwal supports cleaning in the direction of the floor. At least not on my Freo X Plus; does Pro or Flow? The OP is asking for floor oriented cleaning, so I think that is important.
This one is perfect for you. https://us.3itech.com/blogs/news/get-to-know-the-best-budget-robot-vacuum-from-3i-g10-plus I have the Narwal Freo X Plus. I don't know if it's the best, but I like that it has the same anti-tangle brush as the flagship and the dust bin is bigger and easier to dispose of. I don't hate stations as much as you do, but I know the feeling.
How about Narwal Freo X Plus? It is probably quieter than the other robots mentioned here. The main brush does not get tangled up with hair. Usually, higher-end models come with more powerful brushes, but this one has the exact same brushes as Narwal's flagship (Narwal Freo Z Ultra). There is no automatic waste ejection, but the dust bin is large and easy to dispose of.However, if you have pets in your home, you may need to dispose of the trash every few days or so. The mop board can be removed for use. Cords and small objects cannot be avoided and need to be cleaned up.
How about the Narwal Freo X Plus? Its brush roller is nearly identical to higher-end models. While it lacks an automatic dust disposal feature, its large dustbin and one-touch emptying make it a non-issue unless you're dealing with exceptionally high levels of debris. It should be on sale for about half the regular price.
How is the dust collection setting configured? Please try setting the frequency to “Always.” When set to “Always,” the Narwal robot will empty the dustbin at the start of every subsequent cleaning session. (Note that this occurs before cleaning, not after.) Due to patent issues, it appears that products other than iRobot do not have the capability to detect when the dustbin is full.
NARWAL Freo x plus worked wonders for our golden retriever household. It never got tangled once in our 2 years of having it. We only gave it away because we upgraded to the Flow.
I agree with you with respect to customer service. Most of the RVC have terrible after sales service. I contacted Narwal customer support (used the number given in Amazon) the customer service executive had no knowledge about the product. Also there is no availability of the physical service centers as mentioned in Amazon. Basically the India map with service centers provided in the home page of Narwal in Amazon is misleading. Like other RVC vendors they provide door step pick-up and service at a nearby factory. However, when I contacted ECOVACS the customer service executive was able to answer my question and also send the necessary details via WhatsApp. In fact, they even contacted me a couple of days later to check with my decision about purchasing RVC. Even I'm planning to go with Ecovacs. With regards to mopping, RVC with triangular mop pads and rotating heads are best. As you mentioned we get RVCs with this facility only above 35-45k.
Very worth it for me. I have two cats and a dog, and got it before the dog - it makes a visible difference to have it run once daily (vacuum and mop) vs every other day or a couple times a week. I have a narwal freo x plus and I wish I’d just splurged on something nicer, but this one does the job.
I don't trust the analysis. From a quick look, I was able to find at least one inaccuracy repeated a few times (Narwal advertises dust compaction in the Freo X Plus, so it should be equivalent to the Hobot). Further, "better" isn't really a thing so much as "better for you". I don't know how much you value, for example, accessory availability. If you're looking for advice, I'd go with the Narwal. It's a well-established global brand with a known track record. This is the first I've heard of Hobot. The claims made seem a bit over the top. The design of this robot is clearly experimental -- vacuum before the brush roller instead of integrated with it, spraying the floor instead of spraying the mop pad, etc. This clearly needs an independent review from a trusted reviewer, which I don't see in my searches. If you're open to other brands, look for Roborock, Eufy, Dreame, and Mova, for starters. I'm not sure what's available in your area, but at least a few of those should be.
Thanks for the suggestion Going ahead with NARWAL Freo X Plus 2-in-1 https://amzn.in/d/b61Ggmg
Yes, it has been good. Just that it gets tangled in floor mat. So we have to move it which is a slight inconvenience.
Recently bought narwal Freo X plus and really appreciate the service by the robo as well as the company...
This is the robot I have. It's just me and a cat, I ordered a bunch of off brand disposable dustbins, and I throw them away pretty infrequently. Base is very short and I have it in my pantry (door always open) under the bottom shelf of a wire shelving unit. I'll see if I can find a picture.
This looks quite like my Narwal Freo X Plus I think it is (I renamed it Cleanbot 3000 in the app so I often forget it's actual name). My dining table has angled legs, so it often bumps them (gently) once and then artfully goes around them. However sometimes it gets behind/between legs of things and can't find it's way out.
I don't have other comparisons, but myself (long hair) and my cat have had a Narwal for over a year and I've never once had the roller clog with hair. It's got a tapered roller and apparently this is successful in keeping hair from getting tangled.
I don't run my Narwal as often as some run their robots, but as long as I do maintenance on it, it runs fine. For me personally, breakdowns in tech like this have always been a combination of cheap tech and poor maintenance. Both of which I have complete control over....
